Visiting from TX, a friend recommended to me from her previous Santa Fe visit. Google showed open on Sunday 4/27/25 until 8 pm. Called ahead but the phone rang. I assumed just busy. Arrived about 6:30pm to find the restaurant closed. Other reviews raved about the food, so I hope whatever happened today was an exception and that the business owner is okay and that others will get to support this small business. This place is amazing! The staff was super friendly and extremely helpful. They walked us through the menu as it's basically 1/2 stir fry and the other half soul food. The collared greens were great and were served with hush puppies (also very good). We chose the "create your own stir fry", and it came with so many choices of fresh veggies and so many choices of sauce. Everything from Mongolian sauce to a Thai coconut sauce. A ton of choices of proteins too. It was a great place for our picky eater kids, who opted for Sesame Chicken and Mac n cheese. They have something for everyone and it was all good. It's really set up for take out, but they do have a few tables with some fun games for the kids while they cook your food fresh to order. Can't recommend it enough. read more

My GRITS MOM, (girls raised in the south) and I had the pleasure of dining here on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. I'm 60 and mom is 80. We both began to drool when I yelped Santa Fe eateries and read SOUL FOOD in the description. We walked in and the area was well-lit and clean. The seating areas were comfortably spaced. The young man at the register was patient and kind as we read through each menu item. Decisions, decisions. We each had the catfish sammich on Texas toast with slaw. Hot and delicious. Mac and cheese ... with real cheese. Collard greens perfectly seasoned. The tastiest fried okra and the best ever, mouthwatering cornbread. Strawberry soda and a dozen napkins later, I was in soul food heaven. It was reminiscent of "I'll have what she's having" in the "When Harry met Sally" diner scene. My only disappointment, and by no means is it food related, is that I'm from San Antonio and will not have the opportunity to enjoy these delights again for sometime. I quickly provided a solution to that problem, however, and that is to share their culinary talents with south Texas ... build another restaurant in San Antonio. After hearing quite a bit about this place I finally paid it my first visit with a craving for fried fish. The seating is limited and the ambiance quite casual. Most of the orders seem to have been called in for pick up or to go. Now, when ordering the fried catfish, I thought they were sold as whole fillets, but here they are half fillets cut lengthwise - so for the three piece fish, you're just getting one and a half fillets. Coming from Texas where a piece of fried catfish is always a whole fillets, I just had to wrap my brain around this concept of half fillets. The fish was seasoned and fried perfectly and the tartar sauce was delicious (lots of horseradish, just how I enjoy it). They were out of collard greens and mac & cheese, so I opted for the fried rice which was very very plain and bland. The cornbread was moist and tasty. Service was very pleasant. I'd most likely return to try other menu items, but not in a hurry. read more

This is an interesting restaurant worth trying, but stick with the stir fry! First time with my wife, we tried a stir fry with catfish and virtually all the available options that can be fried with it. There is a huge list of options, especially for pairing with a protein, along with several sauces. Since it was our first time, we took the advice of the lovely woman who took our order and tried Mongolian. The catfish was grilled, but can be fried, and the fish was very nice, moist, and had great flavor. All the vegetables were fresh and perfectly stir-fried. Came with rice, which was great with the Mongolian sauce. This was a winner. I decided to try something totally different just to see what else this place could offer so I tried the BBQ Burnt Ends. They were OK but I wouldn't order this again. Burnt Ends, even at a BBQ restaurant, can be hit or miss. I should have known and stuck with stir-fry or maybe a catfish sandwich. The BBQ came with a side of Fried Okra, and this was really good! I get the idea that Anthony's knows how to fry foods based on the Okra. All food is made to order, but came out quickly. Funky but nice interior. Very nice people there. The prices are pretty reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. Lots of parking available. Take your time browsing their extensive menu, which offers a wide range of options for you to choose from. Pass on the BBQ go Stri Fry. read more

My husband and I had a late lunch here the other day. Anthony is at the register, a lovely man. We asked his recommendation, so we got his specialties, fried chicken and catfish with collard greens and slaw with a side of fries. Everything is made to order so it took a 'minute'. It was delicious and we could taste the care in its preparation. The meat was fresh! it was juicy on the inside and perfectly crisp on the outside. The collards were some of the best we've ever had. The chicken comes with cornbread, which was light and a bit sweet, wonderful! The place was very clean and the music was some of Anthony's favorites. We Found Anthony's by accident today when having breakfast next door. Checked out the vegan options on his posted menu and came back for dinner. So glad we did. His food is amazing. Hubby ordered the stir fry with vegan chicken and Mongolian sauce. I had the same thing with sweet and sour sauce. Both of us loved our dishes. They were packed with a ton of veggies minus the hot ones. lol. Both were super flavorful. Turns out not only does Anthony make his own sauces and sells them, I picked up a few bottles to take home, and he breads his vegan chicken with his own ancient Chinese secret ingredients. This was according to him. He sat at our table and conversed with us. He is very pleasant and cordial. We enjoyed talking about food. A bit later he came out with our dessert of Apple egg rolls with caramel dipping sauce. I died and went to foodie heaven. I can't wait to come back and try the peach or sweet potato version. His waitstaff were also super friendly. The prices are very reasonable for a touristy area. The place was clean and has a small outside seating area. This place is restored my faith in humanity. Okay that's a little dramatic but it came pretty close! I was visiting Santa Fe and trying to order from this restaurant through DoorDash for delivery but it wouldn't let me for some reason. It was 730 at the time and it said that the restaurant was accepting orders until 8 pm so I didn't understand why it wasn't working. After frustrating efforts, I decided to call the restaurant and while I could hear the person talking to me, they could not hear me. This went on for about three or four calls back-and-forth, using mine and my friend's phones. Right as I was about to give up an order from another place, we got a callback and one of the workers had called us with his personal cell phone and let us know he couldn't hear anything. Add this time, it's 7:50 and they close at 8 so I didn't expect them to still offer to take our order and wait for us to get there to pick it up period in addition, they gave us a free water bottle. That tiny little gesture made my day and I was super grateful that evening. I got wings with a side of beef lo mein and I recommend it. My friend got the beef fried rice which in my opinion was not as nice as the law mean, but was still pretty good. read more

I came here because my guest wanted to try this place. I had never been here, but I'm always willing to try a new place. The restaurant is in a strip mall in a heavily trafficked part of Santa Fe, but away from the plaza where parking isn't an issue. There is indoor and outdoor seating options. The restaurant is clean and decorated with positive sayings. I entered the restaurant and listened to the interaction between the business owner and the people before me as music gently played. The owner was one of the happiest and most positive people I have encountered in quiet some time. He clearly loves what he does for a living and loves providing something great to the community. We had not been here before, so we had questions. He was very willing to answer our questions and was a joy to interact with. My only complaint is that only Coca-Cola products were offered. However, complimentary bottled water is offered and I was happy with that. I ordered the large stir fry platter which gives you two extra proteins over the small platter. You have unlimited veggie options and I loaded it up. My guest ordered the small platter. We also ordered chicken wings with some sauces on the side. I really enjoyed the Thai sauce which was a coconut milk based sauce. The food was delicious and I had no complaints with the food. I noticed that the table next to us ordered fried catfish platters and they looked so good. It made me want to have a second lunch. I will definitely return and tell people about this place. We went to Anthonys Grill, and we were very hungry for something different. This restaurant is literally a great hole in a wall vibe. The food we ordered included a salmon platter and added veggies and great sauce that accompanied the robust and delicious flavor. I also ordered a veggie platter. Sometimes, restaurant tofu isn't appealing at all. However, the tofu was perfectly grilled, and the spices and aroma were delicious. We didn't try the soul food, but that was a breath of fresh air. Next time we go in, I will be trying the fried catfish and soul food. Anthony was very humble and attentive. I will recommend to all friends and family. read more
