Souper star grilled cheese. Hungarian mushroom soup.

Easy to locate (right off Cerillos/Hwy 14). Parking is limited and awkwardly shaped so hard to get in and out of a spot. Staff is "souper" friendly and accommodating. You order up front and then hopefully find a seat. Food came out quickly and was delicious. The soup was simply...amazing. Creamy. LOTS of mushrooms. The sandwich was good as well. The apple gave it that little extra something. They offer a flight of soups and that will definitely be my order at our next visit. Hit them up if you're looking for a nice warm soup and sandwich on a cool/cold day.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice little lunch restaurant in Santa Fe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You order at the counter in a room upon entering the restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After ordering to go to a small room off to the side with a few tables for dining.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A server will bring out your food. By the way the service was great. I had the Roasted Vegetable Sandwich which was delicious and outstanding! Of course since the restaurant is called Soup Star I had to try the soup. I had the Butternut Squash soup which is also vegan. Outstanding!

SOUPER STAR GRILLED CHEESE COMBO with Hungarian Mushroom soup

Cold day - hot soup. Hmmm sounds like a good idea. It's small & parking sucks. A few spots in the parking lot then to the street to hunt. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ok, parked and entered a small area to order and pay. Then to a dining room off to the side to grab one of 7 tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the Green Chile Philly add a cup of Split Pea Soup. Plus the Souper Star Grilled Cheese Combo with the Hungarian Mushroom Soup and 2 ice teas. Sodas are by the can, no sweeteners at the table. Not to worry we bring our own straws & sweetners with us. After a brief wait our lunch comes out. It's a lot - probably could have held up on the soup. The Split Pea soup was delicious & thick with small cubes of ham. Reminded me of a restaurant in the west coast whose signature dish is split pea soup. The Philly was loaded with meat & cheese. However it became an open face sandwich very quickly. The Grilled Cheese was equally thick with ingredients. It wasn't greasy, the apple slices - grilled? added sweetness. The Hungarian Mushroom soup was excellent - rich & buttery. It actually went well with the grilled cheese. Great little place for an easy lunch stop.

The house grilled cheese (also has ham and apples) and tomato basil soup.

Deliciously fresh. Try the mushroom soup and green chili cheesesteak sandwich. Went out of the way to go back on the same trip.

Great little place with good food, cozy ambiance and excellent service. Hungarian mushroom soup would have been perfect with a little meat.

We sat indoors which was nice but the patio looked amazing! The menu has almost no variety but is very gluten-free friendly. Oh & the red sauce is hot, heads up. The margaritas are great. All of the staff we encountered was kind & helpful & happy. On a Friday night at 6:45 there was a 1.5 hour wait so clearly a happening place.

I have been coming here for thirty-five years, and it blows my mind that after more than three decades, it keeps reaching new heights while fiercely retaining everything that made it legendary in the first place: the unbeatable high quality, the remarkably affordable prices, and those effortlessly cool, historic vibes. It is a rare, beautiful gem that refuses to compromise its soul, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. This visit was extra special because my fiancé was a first-timer, and he was instantly converted, falling just as madly in love with the magic of this place as I did decades ago. On this particular afternoon, the lines were wrapped around the courtyard and the energy was absolutely electric. It was hella busy, which is a testament to how beloved this institution remains. Rather than waiting for a table, we decided to grab our food to go--a move that turned out to be pure perfection. We took our feast over to the historic plaza square, found a spot to sit, and ate under the shade of the trees while listening to live music drift through the air. With a beautiful, cool mountain breeze rustling through the plaza, it was the most quintessential, magical Santa Fe experience you could ever ask for. As for the food, it remains an absolute revelation. I ordered my enchiladas "Christmas" style, split right down the middle with both their famous, deeply savory red chile and their bright, perfectly spiced green chile. The first bite instantly reminded me why no one else can touch what they do here. The blue corn tortillas were tender, the cheese was perfectly melted, and the chiles carried that robust, earthy, authentic New Mexico heat that warms you from the inside out. It is a flawless execution of culinary tradition. To be able to deliver that level of world-class, scratch-made perfection at a price point that still feels incredibly generous is nothing short of a miracle. Whether you sit in their enchanting, labyrinthine dining rooms or pack it up for a picnic on the square, The Shed is the absolute pinnacle of the Santa Fe spirit.

I'm not sure what's happened to Vinaigrette, but the entire experience was completely disappointing. I asked the server to bring bread with our meal and was presented with some kind of focaccia bread stick that was hard and stale. What happened to the wonderful bread that used to be served there! I ordered the Tuna Salad, and my friend ordered the Beet Salad. While there was a generous amount of tuna, it was shredded into very small pieces and the salad was dry. It was completely underwhelming and unsatisfying. My friend commented the dressing on her salad was very sweet and the pistachios were ground up into the goat cheese. I'm very surprised at the quality of the dishes as I've never had a less than great experience there prior to this experience. I hope this was an isolated incident but will think twice about returning.
