Food was great! The Fancy Rainbow Roll was really good and a delight both esthetically pleasing and also very tasty. The other specialty roll we tried was the Green River roll which was pictured on the menu but not listed on the menu. This one actually came with 10 pieces of sushi which was a great deal for sure. Service was great and fast. We ordered a total of 4 rolls and they staggered the delivery of them in such a way that we were able to enjoy them and not feel overwhelmed by the amount of sushi pieces that we had to eat. This way they were also very fresh as soon as we were ready to enjoy a different roll. The restaurant is located inside a shopping center building and while it's an older building the restaurant itself was clean and inviting. Located in the Santa Fe Plaza area, Sushi8 was a decent place for some basic rolls. They are located in one of the indoor mall areas that I had never been before, but there was a dumpling Café and a Boba spot right next to the sushi. We ordered to go, but I totally would've hung out in this area. I will know we ordered online and our order was delayed about 15 minutes past what was posted. The rules were very basic, but they were good. I wish they would've had more sauce on them. The portions were great, a solid rice to fillings ratio. read more

We walked in at about 7 pm on a Sunday evening, and the hostess stopped eating and seated us. We waited around 5+ minutes for waters and for her to take our drink orders. No one could be bothered to come to our table. I finally got up and asked if we order at the counter or if someone will come by our table. She said she would take our order. At that point we said we would go somewhere else and left. There were zero other customers in at this time, and the three workers were either eating or on their phones. The fish tasted fresh. I was not sure what to expect from a sushi place in the high desert, but thumbs up! This is fast food sushi. Salads have a mayo dressing, tempura is not tempura but deep fried. Not good. Go to Masa or elsewhere.

Recommended by the person at the front desk of our hotel, who said it was by far the best sushi in the city, we decided to try it out as it's within walking distance from the hotel. The biggest challenge was finding the restaurant because it's at the far end of a complex, but fortunately there is a sign in front of the complex. We eat a lot of sushi while at home, and all 4 of us thought our meals were really, really good. To start, the Sake was really good and they gave each of us a nice amount along with a shot glass to drink it out of. The day we were there was the first day they had their license to sell Sake. One interesting thing was that instead of a glass of water they gave us a bottle of water, the first time any of us have experienced that, but the water was good too. The service was really good, and one of the great things was that one in our group asked to add a couple things to her dish and not have others that are additions already on the menu, and they accommodated her with no problem or up charge. The store manager came by to ask if everything was okay and the cook also came out to make sure everything was good and that the changes in the one dish was acceptable. 3.5 stars, and the sushi was just fine. I'm marking this below the four star mark because in all honesty, if I'm looking for sushi in Santa Fe, there are a lot of options and Sushi8 just didn't up the game compared to what I'd enjoyed other places. This is an artistic city with a lot of talented (and, sure, egocentric) chefs, I suppose I expected something unexpected, fun, creative, whereas what we ordered -- and you can tell from the pictures, it was a hefty lot -- just didn't seem particularly memorable. The most interesting find was Chirashi, a spread of fillets atop rice, and I'd recommend it. The dining area itself was sparse and a little tight, again, no issues, I just hoped for something more. One more "more" note, this doesn't impact my rating whatsoever, but why Lord, oh why, do Japanese restaurants limit the beer selection so? I mean, Sapporo and Asahi are just fine, but really, there's great beer everywhere, nowdays. I'd drop more than a few dollars on craft beer when I'm shoveling wasabi bombs into my mouth, for sure. Sushi8 was a nice find by a coworker and we all left pretty happy. I would say that they could use some good advertising now that state employees in Santa Fe are working full time and maybe a parred-down lunch menu to make things a little faster. We came here today for lunch, I got the salmon bento box and loved every bite. The salmon was absolutely delicious! Servings were more than enough and the prices weren't bad. I look forward to coming in again, but will make sure that I am ready to order quickly, or maybe call in an order so it isn't too long. read more

Never gets anything right then scams you for extra money! I've ordered several times from here. They are ALWAYS out off at least one thing. Rather than text or call, they just hold the order so when you arrive nothing is ready. But that's not the scam. The scam is that their online ordering system requires a tip before you can check out. But when you go to pay, they just enter that previous trial then ask for a tip again. If you're not careful, you too then TWICE. Absolutely terrible service! Completely empty restaurant but the food took more than 30 minutes. Some members of our party got food 15 min before others, leaving people to eat by themselves. Iam a door dasher and I went in to pick up 2 orders.unfortunately I didn't have service in the building I kindly asked if they had internet I could connect to temporarily. He said no and sent me away in the rudest possible way..mind you none of the employees have name tags. Thankfully a gentleman down the way connected me altho it only reached so far.when I got back I knew the names of the orders.so I told him and asked for a manager as I was just going to make a polite inquiry about possibly sharing Internet with people who come to pick up orders cuz the service is bad . That man as seen in the attached picture said " we have no manager" I asked who's incharge he said "I'm in-charge" after which his fellow cook on the line said something in there language then the man seen pictured said can u confirm orders "I said I don't have service do u wanna walk me to where I do so u can see me confirm he said "no u need to confirm now my boss said so..like okay sir I thought u didn't have a boss?!?! The man seen pictured starting saying no and proceeded to ignore me...so I headed over to his "boss" whom also ignored me..mind u I'm just here to pick up orders for their customers ,orders that have been sitting there for 20 minutes now and they are being disrespectful . A few moments later police come around the corner I explained to them what happen and they asked this man for the orders and I went on about my day ! It coulda been so simple. Also the fake no knowing English is also rude! I hope that the manager or owner can solve this problem or reach out so it doesn't happen to the next person..even tho I do door dash it's to help my daughter get a head start on life .. The service was fail! We went based off other reviews and to a degree prices especially in Santa Fe. Nothing big or fancy! the Nigiri was not bad the meat was amazing flavor but the rice fell apart was not sticky rice and had a hard time grabbing it with my chop sticks. The rolls seemed extremely small meaning very narrow! But they were good! Overall place food was not bad! The bill for what we ordered was a little high.
