Visiting Santa Fe from Oklahoma and we wanted to try Asian food while here. The dumplings are truly SO delicious! We ordered pan-fried Rainbow dumplings as well as steamed pork buns. Hands-down some of the best dumplings I have ever had! On top of that-- the owners are so friendly and kind! Gregory, one of the owners, is so hospitable. He sat with us as we asked about recommendations for "night life" and he suggested Cowgirls. Him and his wife even met-up with us there! It was such an enjoyable night and I loved getting to know them and how they started the restaurant. Amazing people, amazing food- highly recommend! read more

Somehow, the exterior door had gotten locked during business hours, and so one of the owners had to unlock it to let us in. What started poorly ended worse. In addition to a good chunk of the menu being unavailable, including several dishes I had wanted to try, the restaurant was so understaffed that it took the better part of an hour to get seated and receive our food. Given that our entire order was one set of dumplings and a bibimbap, that's really not ok. And, while we received thanks for our patience, we did not receive a write-down of the ticket or any dishes on the house. Although the restaurant seemed like a pleasant place to wait out our time at first, its tranquility was repeatedly spoiled by alarms from the kitchen, and eventually, the strong smell of burning. Although that smell was quickly taken away by the fume hood, we revisited it again outside after we left. Pork Dumplings in Hot Soup - 2/5 The soup was mild and pleasant, but the filling was a dense mass with an unpleasant aftertaste from a less nice cut of pork. Bibimbamp - 3/5 Decent, especially for the price, but nothing to write home about. There was too much rice in proportion to the vegetables, and not really enough room in the bowl to comfortably mix the dish without worrying about spilling it on the table. We're big fans of both Korean food and Chinese dumplings, so we'd really wanted to like this place. What a shame. read more

This place is special. I don't use that word lightly, the food here is memorable in the best way, the kind you're still thinking about long after you leave. The buns and dumplings are both uniquely delicious, so definitely try both. And whatever you do, don't skip the cucumber salad, it's fresh, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the meal. read more

This restaurant is kind of out of the way, but there's parking nearby and the menu is reasonably priced. The vibe here is a little odd: not many tables, one man running the register and service, and one woman in the kitchen. Truly a family run business, so I am understanding of the slow service. The dumplings are all handmade and pretty good. The Chongqing noodles were delicious and a very generous portion. I would probably do takeout next time, but it was pretty tasty. read more

So happy I stumbled upon this place today! Such delicious food and really great service tucked in a small corner. The family the runs the place is so welcoming and sweet, and the food is made fresh to order. The prices and portions were great! I ordered the kimchi, specialty dumplings, and chicken chow mein. Everything was so flavorful and came hot straight from the kitchen. Can't wait to come back and try some of their specials! read more

Every detail from the beverages to the sauces to the main dishes was prepared to perfection-10/10. The flavors, the freshness, all outstanding. Prepare your food with love? They definitely do, and you can taste it in every bite. One of the best restaurants in Santa Fe. This is a hidden gem! read more

First off: the food is excellent. No qualifying it. This is authentic Asian cooking by a skilled chef and kitchen. The dumplings are the star attraction, and they earn it. You can get them steamed, boiled, or fried, and you can get them in a hot soup made of an indescribably delicious broth with succulent vegetables. They also offer the dumplings in a "rainbow" assortment, with the wraps' hues produced only by natural vegetable colorings. No food dyes or anything synthetic. Each color shows what is inside, such as green for vegetarian, and there's an option for lamb or pork/shrimp filling, known as "Signature." We were a party of four on a birthday dinner outing. We had the large rainbow and everything was amazing. We also had the chicken dumplings with hot soup, and an order of the Korean BBQ short ribs. The ribs are marinated for a couple of days before searing them and presenting them with a mound of rice with black sesame seeds and a sample of the really wonderful homemade kimchi. The Angus beef makes the just-right doneness both crisp and tender. You should be aware that this is a small, family-run restaurant. Each dish is prepared and served separately, to assure freshly-made savor, I assume. So the ribs I ordered came out several minutes before the dumplings, and the dumplings in soup arrived a few minutes after that. We had no problem with that sequence, but others may. They also had an issue with the machine that makes all the "fancy" non-alcoholic drinks, so the choices were limited to canned or bottled sodas/teas in a cooler, and iced or hot coffee, or water from a dispenser near the register. But we were just fine with our selections. As we were leaving, the chef found out we were doing a birthday dinner and insisted on making something special. She came out several minutes later with a box of piping-hot sesame-coated desserts: little spheres with a slightly sweet red bean paste inside the shell. So nice. Takeout is big there, and they have amazing other dishes we didn't sample, so we'll be back, for sure. read more

What a great surprise! We stopped here while passing through on our way back to Texas and honestly didn't have high expectations. From the moment we walked in, the service was friendly and attentive, and the food exceeded every expectation. Everything tasted homemade and incredibly fresh, and you can tell they take pride in the quality of what they serve. It's not often you stumble across a place this good while traveling. We'll absolutely make it a point to stop here again the next time we're in the area. Highly recommend, 10/10! read more

Fantastic food! Closest thing i have had to a home made meal at a restaurant in a long time. Rainbow dumpling in broth was a nice variety and broth was rich and flavorful with low spice. Pan fried pork bao buns were cooked perfectly and the dough was a perfect moist texture. I spoke with the gentleman for a while and the woman in the kitchen checked to make sure it came out good. Definitely a hidden gem. read more

A cold fall evening deserves a hot soup and pan-fried dumplings. Jessica and Greg @ Lotus Dumpling House delivered. They were warm and friendly, from the moment we were seated at a cozy table. The restaurant wasn't too crowded when we arrived, but a few more tables came in as we were finishing up. The hand made dumplings were beautiful (definitely go pan-fried) and very tasty. I had the pan-fried pork dumplings and my husband had chicken dumplings in broth. The broth was big enough to share and was SO rich. We also ordered the pan-fried pork buns and crispy scallion pancakes. I highly recommend giving this place a try. They take online orders, too. We will definitely return on our next trip to Santa Fe. read more

My brother, sister and I stopped by here on our way to a Daft Punk show at Meow Wolf. We wanted to try something close by and local if possible. I think we found what we were looking for. Lotus Dumpling House is a cute little spot. The cashier/server was very friendly and was patient with us while we drooled over the items on the menu trying to quickly put our order together. We ordered quite a bit for the three of us, but we didn't know when we would be back so we wanted to try a little of of everything. All of the dumplings were delicious. And don't be fooled they are not frozen but made in house! The beef buns were so tasty and the dough was so soft, might have been my favorite. Let's not forget the Korean Pancakes and the Korean Bibimbap with Tofu. They were both also, de-li-cious. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Side Note: they also have a wall in the back with some asian skin care products! I wanted to check them out, but I didn't have time. Does anyone else know anything about them? read more

An absolute gem in Santa Fe serving remarkably delicious dumplings and assorted Pan Asian favorites. Flavor profiles were simultaneously bright and unctuous and deeply, deeply delicious. Best of all, this is a family business, and dinner felt like a home-cooked meal prepared by a master culinainarian clearly adept in the ways of umami and culinary love. I adore this place. read more

delicious authentic Chinese food and wonderful family. Highly recommend the dumpling.

We had some delicious dumplings in a savory broth. And some wonderful tasty bibimbap!

We dropped into this little dumpling shop and had surprisingly excellent dumplings... But first... if you read any reviews that talk about "Asian food" take them with a grain of salt. It's like saying European food (instead of French or Italian food) or North American food (instead of Mexican or American food)... Doesn't make sense, you see... In any case, we met the owner, who is Korean by the way (hence the bibimbap on the menu), and she explained that she had just brought in a chef from an excellent dumpling restaurant from our native Brooklyn... what a coincidence! But the food, you say? Excellent! Very authentic and wonderful- that's from both me and my Cantonese partner. Check them out for yourself! read more

The food was delicious. The owner was very friendly and accommodating for our party of 5. We got our food quickly and loved every bite. It is a smaller restaurant, but very cute and cozy. Very authentic food and would 100% come back! read more

The pan fried lamb dumplings, Chinese burrito, and scallion pancakes were good. The pork and wood ear bun as well as the steamed pork dumplings were bland. The service is ... self service for utensils and napkins. They don't bring out water, if you want water you'll have to purchase bottled water there. There is not much ambiance, it's a super simple space, and feels like you're walking into a large tent when you walk inside. This is a place I would go for takeout, probably will not dine in again. read more

Lotus Dumpling House has recently changed ownership. Food that was once just okay has become exceptional. Their new chefs have really excelled in turning the menu into an Asian culinary success. The food is fresh and the portions are excellent for the price. The atmosphere is now warm and inviting. If in the mood for authentic Asian cuisine not found anywhere else this is absolutely the place to visit and revisit. They offer Chinese, Korean and Japanese that's now done right. Don't let any past disappointments keep you from giving it another try. It's become a gem in providing great tasting quality food made from scratch. Even the noodle bowls are amazing. Delish! read more

Cute tiny shop. friendly and fast service. Got take out but would've been very casual and intimate to eat there. Like no one was there when i was but sitting in that shop alone wouldn't have felt awkward! scallion pancakes taste shockingly like onion rings lol but who doesn't love onion rings? beautiful vegetable buns they are pillowy and filled with a good quantity of filling. I don't love the dumpling sauce because it's a little sour and my preferred at home mix is mae ploy with soy sauce but that's just personal preference--my mom loved the sauce. zucchini pockets are actually my favorite they are filled with scallions and have a great crunch! will for sure come back next time i'm in town to keep exploring the menu:) read more

Seems like a small mom and pop place, a bit unassuming, and quiet. Great dumplings though among other foods there and good service.

Best vegan bibimbap!!! So good that I dug into my spouse's plate for it! Tofu so well made, veggies beautifully julienned, with gochujang that was perfectly made. Limited vegetarian and vegan food but you don't really need to look further than the bibimbap! The hostess was very sweet, answering my silly questions on making the bibimbap. Service was fast! Highly recommend! read more

The taste is ok, but maybe my expectations are too high. I feel that the portion is a little small, which is not proportional to the price, and it is not the same as the photo. I ordered the beef green chili buns, and I didn't get any green chili in it. I was a little disappointed. read more

My friend and I went here with no huge expectations even though this particular restaurant had great reviews and high star ratings. The restaurant is very clean and has an opening and welcoming presence. We were greeted and met by a kind woman who gave us menus and told us to pick a table. We ordered dumplings of course, I had the bibimbap and my friend had the Chinese burger. Dumplings were delicious, pan fried is the way to go, boiled dumplings are not my cup of tea. The bibimbap was okay, I'm more used to the sizzling clay pot where the burnt rice on the bottom is the best part. However, her version was a clean and still yummy. On top of the rice was traditional namuls(sea weed, bean sprouts, pickled cucumbers), fried egg on top, and I added bulgogi(Korean bbq meat). The only ingredient missing which threw me for a loop was kimchi(pickled cabbage), that's a staple for Korean food. Alas, bibimbap was tasty but could be better. The Chinese burger is a good concept and was enjoyable. While waiting, I had a very nice conversation with the owner/server. She asked me if I am Korean, to which I answered yes and we automatically shared stories of our brief history. That is something I love to do and how I can connect to other Koreans. After learning brief history of her story, I understand why she has a Korean & Chinese fusion-y NM restaurant. The vibe of this place is more of a friendly, quick bite, and chill scene. I don't need expensive china plates or metal utensils to have a great experience at a restaurant. Great company, good food, and nice waitstaff/owners make a great restaurant. Also they have good Boba tea and they prepare the boba quite nicely too. Some places burn boba or don't cook enough so you get hard boba. They have a wide selection of flavors too. Whenever I get back to Santa Fe, I will be coming back for some delicious dumplings and awesome conversation. read more

Very friendly service and the dumplings were delicious! We had the sampler so we could try a variety. The lamb dumplings were my favorite.

The 5-star reviews must've been written by friends of the new owner or by people who have never had good Asian food. We've had pretty much the same experience as the reviewer Peter N. The scallion pancakes look absolutely *nothing* like the photos you see on the menus: no scallions, just crispy fried dough and tasteless. The server recommended the burger which, amazingly, was dry and bland! How can a professional cook screw that up so badly? Our friends ordered dumplings, the burrito and egg rolls. We tasted the burrito (it was the only tasty food on the table), and the dumplings, which were truly unremarkable, and I am being generous here... As for the egg rolls, we didn't have the heart to take a bite because they were really small (our friends didn't seem to enjoy them). If I had to recommend a dish: the burrito but just because it was the only tasty dish on our table. My advice to the owner: 1. Fire your current cook! If you want your restaurant to thrive you need to find a cook with true knowledge of Asian food. 2. Use china and silverware! In restaurants, people do not enjoy eating off paper plates and flimsy plastic flatware. read more

I have to worry about a dumpling house that now also offers bibimbap and Japanese curry when their signature dumplings are merely adequate. I, too, have had better store bought dumplings, though this is not to say that all pre-packaged frozen dumplings are equally better. There were only microscopic trace amounts of scallion in the scallion pancakes, which themselves were rather chewy, rather than light and crisp. The pork buns are basically dumplings in bun form which is mildly confusing, even though I wasn't expecting char siu bao. The "burrito" was an interesting concoction, redolent of the thick rice noodle dish that is often served on plates wrapped around tiny shrimp with a sauce over them. The "hamburger" is a dry imitation of the Xi'an street food which it closely resembles, lacking the savory spicy juiciness that makes the original item so delicious. Basically, this is a fast food version of Chinese dumplings that is probably interesting enough for most people in this town, but not for somebody looking to experience something closer to "home." The signature dumplings, however, were still the best received of all of the items we ordered by everybody in our household. read more
