Sweet and Sour Pork with egg drop soup - a lunch special
    Jim T.

I am not sure why this restaurant has the reviews it does. I took a chance and stopped by for lunch yesterday. Maybe people see the back end as cluttered without realizing that is the back of the restaurant and is used for storage. If you come in the front door, you will find a clean and comfortable seating. I mentioned to my waitress that I was in a rush, made my order, and went to the bathroom. When I came back, my soup and drink were waiting for me. Before I could fully consume the soup, my main course showed up. Sweet and Sour Pork. It was a large portion and tasted as good as any Sweet and Sour Pork I have eaten anywhere. Good food, good service, and a pleasant atmosphere will bring me back to Double Dragon II again.

Ordered on Grubhub we tried the special egg food young, crab Rangoon and steamed pot stickers. Food came hot with all the sauces. Was good crispy Rangoon and tiki hubby enjoyed egg foo young especially the sauce that came with it

I'm certainly happy with what I was served. In fact, the curry flavor has been kicked up a notch. Someone knows their spices where they are bangin' pots and boilin' and steamin' stuff. This Oklahoma Cowboy and Texan has been to nice Chinese all over. It's about the only food I eat in England. English desserts as the main course, of course. Back to the food at hand. I got what I came for and I know the difference between kicking up the flavor to compliment both sweet and savory meat and infuse the egg with a little giddy-up! Bingo.

Fast service by a very nice waitress with delicious chicken. Great egg drop soup while you wait with calming music. Great prices for dishes but pork fried rice was a little starchy.

Worst Chinese food in town, no effort put into preparation. It looks and tastes like frozen food from Sams club.

We've been picking up fried tofu with vegetables and extra snow peas to go. Really good! One order is plenty and reasonable for two.

I went again today for a late lunch and enjoyed some aspects of the meal. For one, it was just me and two other tables who closed out right when I was walking in. I was quickly sat, and proceeded to have pretty slow service to start. Once a server finally came back around 5 minutes later, he brought some delicious spicy/sweet peanuts to start. Returned less than a minute later to take my order, then proceeded to have great service afterward.. let me start with the spicy baby cucumbers: pretty tasty and a large serving, however I didn't think they were that spicy. The chile oil used is mostly oily with some not so spicy Chiles used (that could just be my heat tolerance) but nonetheless, they were delicious. The hot tea was fresh and he brought it out with water, which I appreciated.. I was however slightly disappointed in the Dan Dan Noodles, I didn't take a picture just because it honestly was served not too appetizing or picture perfect like most of the previous reviews. Everything was mixed together, and the meat was all in the bottom under all of the noodles. The flavor was pretty good, but I didn't get the normal Szechuan flavor or spiciness that I've had in the past at other places. I do love the fresh noodles, but the overall dish was a little underwhelming. I would have liked it to be a little more presentable, along with more of a noteworthy flavor other than meaty broth with some chile oil (again more on the oily side not so much spice). Overall, the experience was decent and good service. I will come back to try something else and maybe it just wasn't a dish for me.

My companion loved the potstickers, which came out nicely crisped on the flat sides and were filled with generous amounts of tasty goodness. I tried a noodle dish that was perfectly prepared and presented. It was not only delicious, but I took almost half of it home to enjoy the next day for lunch, when it tasted just as good on reheating. We both had the Thai iced tea, and they do a fine job with those drinks as well. Can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu next time we're in that area of town.

We started the evening with the Volcano, a drink that's on fire upon arrival. So fun and delicious. We probably should have stopped there, but the drink menu is just too tempting! So we shared a final cocktail, the Mango Mojito. And we weren't the only folks celebrating. We saw several reserved tables full of happy people commemorating their moments at Jinja, too.

Over the years, I've had a few things on the menu, but my absolute favorite, which is one of my absolute favorite dishes I've ever had is their Singapore Style Noodles Singapore style noodles is often my go to when I have to eat cheap fast Chinese food in Tennessee or other less sophisticated places This is different ! The way the chef executes this incredible dish reminds me a little more of Thai or Laotian food than Chinese ! The noodles have such a complex curry with a bit of sweetness they are not the standard yellow curry powder that you can buy off Amazon. The Char Sui Pork in the dish is to die for !! moist, tender and perfectly tasty Interesting that it is served with a lime wedge, which definitely makes me think Thai influence! Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this dish after having it many times over the years and will truly say it is one of the best Asian dishes I've ever eaten anywhere including Los Angeles, Hawaii, and Washington DC all of which I resided in Maybe I'll find something better on a trip to Hong Kong who knows ?? By the way, I met Jesus here (Not the holy resurrected one ! ) He's a friendliest bartender you will ever meet and he made me the very best Mai Thai I've ever tried, which is their house specialty drink. I also met the owners of a wonderful art gallery in Santa Fe today. Who I plan to stay in touch with INCREDIBLE experience Jinja ROCKS. Deserves five stars or more

The goodness began with Naomi, who helped me fix an error in my reservation and get a table at a good time tonight. The goodness continued with our server Mitzi, who should be teaching graduate classes in hospitality in every big city. She was friendly without being overbearing, informative without being pedantic, subtle and gracious. Now, the food! My wife chose the vegetarian tasting menu and I had some of each dish: so very flavorful (a green salad with pears, a life-changing mushroom bisque [and I don't like mushrooms!], a chickpea croquette with pickled artichoke hearts and ratatouille, and a substitution of the lemon crepe for three yummy scoops of sorbet and gelato. I chose the scallops, perfectly cooked and moist, over couscous, and a dish of tasty sauteed baby spinach. A wonderful experience, and not overpriced, and everyone treated us sweetly. The musical soundtrack was swinging, and at a compassionate volume. Our first trip to Santa Fe, and we found a gem. Hooray! And thank you, Mitzi!

The interior is classy and very comfortable. We were seated at a nice comfy corner booth. The soft music in the background was soothing and just noticeable enough without being a distraction. We were served complimentary flutes of local sparking wine and a fresh baked bread basket and butter to start. We then ordered cocktails and three starters. First was a split plate of the endive smoked duck salad with a warm bacon vinegarette. Wow...this was nice and refreshing. This was followed by the crab dumplings with fresh corn and peas and lobster sauce. Delicious! The final small plate was seared foie gras on top of banana bread toast. This was very good. I miss foie gras. Unfortunately, it's banned in California. They had a 2023 Sea Smoke "Ten"Pi ot Noir on the wine list. This is one of the best Pinot Noirs produced in California and not easy to find. This was a no doubter and we ordered a bottle to pair with our entrees. My wife ordered their signature elk tenderloin for redemption because the restaurant the night before failed at executing this. I ordered the tomahawk pork chop. This was cooked to perfection with a nice thin crust on the outside and a perfect very light pink juicy center. We ordered a side of brocolini that was pan roasted with shallots and butter. Everything was very good and Michelin grade in our opinion. Lastly we ended the evening and split the tiramasu type of desert. My wife had the expresso martini and I had an 18 year old Glen Morangie scotch neat. The service was excellent and worth the splurge. This is a must when visiting Santa Fe.
