This is my first visit here. Went here with some lunch with friends. The food is really delicious. I had cashew chicken and loved it. However, they were slow. We got our food, had a few minutes to eat it and then had to go back to work. So, we packed up our meal and left. Guess I'd have to say that if you have the time, i.e. more than an hour, this is a fine place to eat. If you're on a short lunch break, this probably isn't the best choice. read more

Rude service with crappy food. Decent prices but that's the only plus I can think of. Really disappointed in this place for what seemed to look like a mom and pop authentic restaurant. read more

Double Dragon - Blah - Chinese Near Me - Santa Fe, New Mexico

Let me start off by saying the food is decent and for the price and convenience, thats why I go back but not anymore. The owner is rude and very unprofessional! I order my usual, egg fu young but when I took my first bite, I had eggshells. I looked inside and there was more. I told the very sweet server and she apologized and took it back. She comes back embarrassed and said I had to order a different item because the owner wouldn't make another. The server apologized but I declined because I wouldn't be spending another dollar at this restaurant with a owner like that. Very unprofessional, rude and obviously doesn't care about her customers. read more

K not sure why the reviews are SO OLD but I have to be the one to say it this is swaggy I always get the Shrimp Fried Rice so not sure about the others but LISTEN cool surroundings uh they got a store another store a park thingy and a doctor thing I think. But I used to go her to pick up my brother from Skool because it's by a skool and the kool kids walked there or something I don't but it's really good you actually get a lot of food if you order the small and I haven't gotten the large but depending on how much you eat I think you could share between two people anywho I really like it take my advice I'm cool. read more

Food was cold, seafood plate was slimy, water tasted like pool water (even extra lemon didn't help), orange chicken tasted like it was microwaved. I was genuinely disgusted and beyond disappointed. I will certainly never be going back. read more

Wish I could rate the food but I was seated the silverware and a menu then waited for over 5 minutes for no one to take my order. Food is probably better than the service but who would know. read more

Oh, my god. I thought I had seen everything, but I was wrong. Alyssa the waitress completely berated and attacked a customer for the customer's small tip. She actually chased him out of the restaurant and threw his tip at him in the parking lot! Then - and I couldn't believe it - she actually got in her boyfriend's car (her boyfriend was waiting outside). This was after she completely messed up his order. Not only that, Alyssa completely messed up my order! Since we were the only two parties in the restaurant at the time, it was hard to do! I gotta' say, it was a first for me! I've seen waitstaff being pissed at tips, but actually chasing the guy outside so she could throw it at him! Oh, my! Then she smelled like a big bong hit. She told someone on the phone that she didn't fscking care and stomped out the door after scooping up my tip (I tried to be generous since I didn't want to get yelled at!). So, bottom line, the food sucked (it completely wasn't what I ordered), but the cringeworthy side-show made up for everything. Sadly, I won't be back to catch the next act. read more

Called in an order from their "diet" menu to not have the meal drowning in sauce. Got the entrees filled with sauce. Called to see if they would remake our order and the blame was promptly shifted to us. They refused to take responsibility or any action to make things right. I will NEVER patronize this business again and will always recommend dining with an establishment that understands customer service. Can't give lower than one star. Update: So much sauce on the seafood that not even my cat would eat a shrimp. AVOID this restaurant. read more

We ordered food to go from here on a Sunday night and were pleased with everything! The food was great, and I was pleasantly surprised they didn't use styrofoam containers nor did they use plastic bags! Always nice and refreshing to see. Would recommend for some classic Chinese food. read more

Very cheap not very good. I only tried this place once because it was close to my office. The prices for lunch were great but the food was very mediocre. The lunch special was less than $5.50 with tax and included a small okay egg roll, a bowl of not quite right egg drop soup, fried rice and a pretty bad rendition of moo goo gai pan. read more

I live nearby and this is my take-out place of choice. The bottom line boils down to three things for me, and the third being the main reason for the 5-star review. 1. Price. The place is incredibly inexpensive. 2. Food. The food is good. It's a pretty typical Chinese-American menu, albeit pretty big, but everything I've had so far was consistent and tasty. 3. The people. The waitstaff is pretty solid, but the shining star here is the manager(owner?). He's the nicest guy in the world. We come in for take-out every once in a while and he sings us songs and has nicknames for us. He refers to himself as our "Chinese uncle", and never fails to put a smile on our faces. While the food isn't mind-blowing, it's always consistent and tastes good. The price combined with the experience is incredibly valuable in adding to my rating of a restaurant, thus, five stars. read more

Used to eat here quite a bit but they have refused to reopen dine-in. Their choice, of course, but it's hard to eat this kind of food in the car and it's not great by the time you get it home. Tried about six times over the last several months. The food is average at best but decent if/when you can dine in, assuming they ever reopen that part. In the meantime, it's just lost business. read more

This is a take out review based solely on the food. Not the owner, not the waitstaff, not the decor. I really wanted to like Double Dragon II. Easy location, cheapish eats. I really like strip mall Chinese food but was quite disappointed by the two dishes I tried tonight. Double Dragon just does not deliver much flavor. Shared take out Dinner for 2. First up: egg rolls. Typical and bland. Couldn't discern any whole ingredient stuffing the roll. Just some kind of cabbage inside, maybe? The General's Chicken looked appealing, but had just 5 small stalks of broccoli accompanying the breaded, deep fried chicken that I consider to be the litmus test for any dive Chinese restaurant. There was a hint of spice to the sauce, but really not too much flavor. General's sauce, generally, has some sort of fruity notes. I detected none. The batter wasn't particularly crisp and the chicken was chewy. Not horrid, not inedible, just not something I would ever pay money for again. The portions were quite large. That just means having to eat more food that I don't really like and that I know isn't very good quality. Next, the Sweet and Sour Chicken. Breaded, deep fried chicken. Soggy batter. No flavor. Came with a tub of red sweet and sour sauce which tasted fine but couldn't save another bland entree. No vegetables came with this dish. This chicken is currently distending my girlfriend's belly. Again, you get LOTS of chicken, but that's it. Oh, yeah. Lots of sauce too. The left over food is in the fridge and, strangely, I want to eat more. The food at Double Dragon is strangely addicting, but really has few redeeming qualities. The pork fried rice that came with the dinner for 2 was the most flavorful component of the meal, but I really can't even remember what it tasted like 15 minutes later. Simply, the most bland Chinese food I've ever had. read more

I arrived in town this past Friday after what turned out to be an unusually long trip from my home in Colorado. As I was staying in a nearby motel--and as this was within walking distance--I decided to come here, all in spite of some barely mediocre reviews. Because of those other reviews, I decided to keep my order simple and steer clear from things that might be easier to ruin. For this reason, I simply did the Sweet and Sour Chicken combo plate and a small order of wonton soup. The good: The chicken was, surprisingly, rather good. It was made with extremely tender white meat chicken and perfectly fried. Even the sauce was freshly made and served separately. This, all done in a restaurant that was immaculately clean when I arrived, in spite of a fairly busy clientele. I noticed the kitchen also looked clean when I was able to snatch a glance inside. In addition, the server was attentive and friendly. The bad: The pork fried rice which came with the dinner was absolutely hideous. Maybe I came on a bad day? I don't know, but I'd like to think that it would be better than what I was served--which tasted old, stale, and blech. It remained untouched. The egg roll which came with the dinner and the wonton soup I ordered as an appetizer were both meh. Though it would appear this isn't the place to go for anything remotely fancy, you can get by with an inexpensive meal that's perfectly OK. If I lived in this area, or if I stay again at this motel, there's a fair chance I'd be back. read more

Great parking, so-so service, good soup, decent menu variety, friendly owner and staff, clean and neat. Occasionally crowded at lunch, sometimes at dinner. Lots of carryout activity. The food is well prepared and presented and the servings are large. Excellent prices. It is lacking a creative spark or a specialty dish. A calm and quiet place to stop for a meal. The bit about grabbing all the soy sauce bottles for cleaning while there are still diners isn't good. In my opinion this should change. Other restaurants manage to get this sort of thing done by replacing what they've taken off the table so as not to inconvenience the diners. Recent meals there have suffered due to service issues. Their after 6:00 p.m. service is by one server for the entire operation...last time I was there this wasn't working out well so I haven't been back. She was trying hard but overwhelmed by the crowd and getting no relief. read more

Let me start by saying, this was a great meal. I ordered the special that came with pork fried rice, orange chicken and an egg roll for about $7.95. The waitstaff was friendly, and the ambiance of the place was great. The only drawbacks were: 1. Location: the location wasn't great. It's located in the back and to the side of Albertson's. It's kinda hidden, in my opinion. 2. No kids menu. Luckily, my 5 year old loves egg drop soup, other than that, be willing to spend the money on a regular sized plate. All in all, this was a good place for some good inexpensive Chinese food. read more

I was charged more for my food than what was stated on the website. I called and was told their prices had changed 2 1/2 years ago and their website states prices are subject to change. The food was gross. I was given brown rice because they ran out of white. They are located near a major grocery store, hello go buy some white rice??? I had a bad experience before but gave them another try NEVER AGAIN. Save your money and run.. They didn't attempt to make it better. This is the worst customer service I've ever had. Was also told my order would be ready in 10 minutes and took about 40 minutes, when I asked why the guy said the lady who answers the phone always says 10 minutes. Be prepared to wait and eat gross food. read more

Quick service with the food. I ordered chicken lo mein. Tasty and filling but not exceptional flavors. The lunch special (6 days a week) was only $6.45 and included soup, fried rice and a spring roll. Definitely plenty to eat for lunch. My wife had the sesame chicken which also came with soup, fried rice and fresh broccoli. The breading on the chicken was a little thick, but I liked their sweet and sour sauce on the chicken. Very satisfied with lunch. read more

OK, this place opened last tuesday and already has a decent fan base because of their incredibly inexpensive lunch special: $4.99 for any entree, and a bowl of soup (3 kinds to choose from) and an egg roll. Now that is a great deal, so we went and tried it out today... We were seated extremely quickly and the servers were awesome, albiet very green, it being a new staff and such... I ordered the Chicken Chow Mein and the egg drop soup. The staff messed up my order and brought me chicken LO mein, which I sent back. they offered another bowl of the egg drop soup, but I refused, even though that was quite tastey. Finally my chicken chow mein came and it was really bland. Not a fan. And they were using a short grain rice that was good, but I thought it was a wee bit undercooked. My date ordered the General Tsos Chicken which was very yummy and the hot and sour soup which he liked (I don't like that soup, so I didn't taste it) with the same rice, which he liked because he said it wasn't as greasy as all the other chinese places in town. I'd go there again based on the price alone, but I'll be a bit more choosey on what I order next time... It was really filling. It would be nice if they offered a non-caffeinated iced tea in the future. No WiFi dinged this place a star, considering the fact that they are in a very busy area with a lot of offices... fix that please. read more

went in for lunch with my brother. All in all, it was pretty good. The food was tasty, the service was relatively prompt but nothing put it over the top for the 5th star. Would go back when I am in santa fe again. read more

Double Dragon - Inside - Chinese Near Me - Santa Fe, New Mexico

We decided to be spontaneous and try Double Dragon when we found out our favorite Santa Fe chinese place wasn't open yet and I am so glad we did. First, the food is wonderful. We shared orange chicken and sesame chicken and both dishes were delicious, flavorful and fresh. Second, the prices are fantastic. We each got a combo meal (Do it, you won't regret it). We each got a main dish, pork fried rice and an egg roll all for under $8. The fried rice was delicious and the egg roll was awesome. We will definitely be adding this into our santa fe restaurant rotation. read more

This will probably be my new go-to quick Chinese spot. I got shrimp fried rice that was packed with a lot of fresh shrimp and some veggies, but mostly shrimp and rice. I also got chicken and broccoli that was exactly that - chicken and broccoli, without a ton of boring filler vegetables like other places do. It was bland, but nothing soy sauce couldn't help. What it was lacking in flavor it made up for with freshness and texture. The chicken was tender and really nicely cooked. The shrimp were plump and not "fishy" at all. Overall, it's not gourmet, but I'll be back next time I don't feel like cooking. read more

I wish I could put zero stars instead of 1 star. Went there for lunch - they weren't that busy. I was in a party of 5. We all had the numbered lunch specials. Didn't seem difficult. Several people that came in after us ate and left. We ordered our meals at the same time the girl asked what we wanted to drink since we waited about 30 minutes at this point just for her to come and ask for our drinks. She came back with drinks, one was wrong. We ordered 4 waters and a sprite. We got 4 waters and a tea. Then about 20 minutes later she came and asked how was everything. Uhhhh! HOW WAS WHAT??!! WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR OUR FOOD! About 15 minutes later food came for 4 people in our group of 5. My order was wrong. I waited a minute or so for the waitress to no avail so I took her my plate up at the front and asked for what I wanted. She put my plate at the front counter and then walked past doing something else. Never telling me if the correct order was in or not. I waited up front for someone else to talk to...she came back. I told her to cancel my order as I only have an hour for lunch. I sat back down. 3 of my friends were able to eat. One friend's lunch never came out. It was even her idea that we should eat there today. She was so apologetic. She went up to talk to someone. Ultimately both her and my order came, except in to go boxes. I told the guy that brought it, I don't want it. I walked out. The entire time no one in my party was rude or discourteous. We sat down in this place at 12:10 left at 1:42. The mess of service at Double Dragon has ruined this place for all of us. We all decided then and there we will never go back. EVER! Next time, I'll drive the extra 3 minutes and eat at Chows. I've eaten at Chows every few months for the past 20 years and I've never had the experience like I had at Double Dragon. read more

Amazing food and a great price. Yeah the owner reminds you of the "soup nazi" from Seinfeld. But in my eyes that's a good thing given there food was great and abundant. Inexpensive bordering on cheap. The pineapple chicken was mostly batter, with very little chicken, with appears to have been a can of pineapple thrown in before it was served. The Mongolian beef was very tough, perhaps skirt steak. The sauces for both dishes were too oily and lacking taste. The only thing that saves this from a one star was the egg drop soup, which was wonderful, and the waitress who was wonderful. read more

This is a small family run place. The food is great, just what you expect. I'd recommend take-out as it takes a while to get anything in the dinning room. The staff for dine in is a little slow. I should've known better. When I walked up to the window and saw that no one in the tiny crowded kitchen was wearing masks or gloves I could have walked away. Fifteen minutes later when I was still standing ignored in the snow looking through the glass at my food sitting on the counter, I could've split. When I opened the bag and found the food was all cold, I should have thrown it in straight in the trash. But, my hunger was stronger than my common sense and I ate some of it anyway. And now, after a restless night of painful gas and explosive diarrhea I feel a duty to warn others not to make the mistakes I did. read more

I have eaten here a few times and the food is really good, but on my last visit I wasn't very impressed with the behavior of the female owner. She berated this young teenage couple, that were obviously on a date, for being $2 short on their bill. $2 isn't going to put her out of business. She could have shown a little more compassion instead of embarrassing them in front of the entire restaurant. She wanted the them to leave her their cell phones until they came back with the $2. It made the whole dinning room uncomfortable. Luckily, another male, I'm assuming her husband, waited til she went to the kitchen then gave them their phones and told them not to worry about it. When we left, I left $2 in change on the table they were at with a note telling her, politely, how mean she was over $2. Aftrr we left we saw that same couple, sitting in the cold, waiting for the bus. That just made me more upset with the owner. Those poor kids. Then just today I decided to place an order to go. When she answered the phone not only was she short and rude with me but didn't give me a chance to finish my order and hung up before I could give her a name. That upset me so I decided to call back and cancel my order. When she answered the phone, she immediately said "Hold please" in a rude and abrupt manner and just slammed the phone down on the counter. Didn't give me a second to reply. So I decided then, not only was I not to going to hold, but I'm not picking up my order either. I'll never do business with them again. It's sad because the food is really good, her staff is very nice, but she ruins your whole experience. I'll go elsewhere and we eat Chinese food a lot. read more

Found this place via yelp. Looked Decent based on reviews but turned out to be horrible. The waitress was lousy. She forgot half my appetizers had to get up and ask her for them after waiting for a bit. We ordered 3 entrees and when those finally came out the we're bland. Our General Tso chicken was pasty and the scallops were missing from our other dish. We had four people and she only brought out 3 plates. We had to ask for another. When we asked she said she was busy and forgot yet she only had 3 tables. Don't come here. Save your money read more
