It looks good. The staff was nice, but it tasted like it came out of a bag. Way too much sugar, to compensate for the lack of richness. Sugar is used to compensate for the lack of traditional Chinese American Cuisine flavor. I went because I saw a three star review. Needless to say, but I was very disappointed. Maybe the people in Santa Fe New Mexico don't know what real American Chinese food should taste like? :(. It's a shame because they have potential. All it would take is somebody to make the effort to adjust the recipes so that they don't taste like every other Chinese fast food fill a Styrofoam box for five bucks restaurant. The problem with that is this, the food taste like a fill a Styrofoam box for five bucks, but it actually cost a lot more. A LOT MORE read more

Wait staff complained in the corner the whole time. Using the f bomb more than any other word. They seem very unhappy with their jobs. Bad mouth the boss when asked to clean. The waitress complained she doesn't get paid to clean or move tables. The wait staff are happy when customers walk out when the tables are not cleaned. It's worrisome when you have a child of nine and this is a family restaurant. read more

Definitely an inexpensive place to eat. Tried it twice and that is enough for me. Bland and everything our party ordered tasted similar. One good thing is that it is never crowded. read more

This is as close as it gets to authentic Chinese food in Santa Fe. This place is great, they have good lunch specials. I'd recommend to try either the beef and broccoli or sesame chicken! read more

We were running way behind. My sister always runs by the last second to get anywhere. So in our haste to GET SOME GOOD CHINESE FOOD I was driving like a mad woman through Santa Fe breaking speed limits. We could not find this place to save our life. But we were as determined as Bruce Lee to win this fight haha. We called the restaurant to get directions and we were in a tailspin trying to figure out our north from our east. FINALLY! This grasshopper found the way. We were just in time to order take-out and they were just kind enough to accommodate our hunger. We ordered the potstickers, spring rolls, shrimp fried rice, Mongolian Beef, and the Hunan Beef. My sister said, "How do we know it's good Chinese food." I said, "Hold on." As I was sniffing the air when the sauces hit the wok. I said, "It's good Chinese food. Trust me. I know." We were so happy with every bite. Each meal had so much meat which made us very happy. We love the beef. We ate and ate till we could not eat anymore. THEN! On our way out of town headed home we stopped again to get some more. Beef Lo Mein, Orange Chicken, and spring rolls. We ate for two days after we got home. We definitely will be back! read more

I am used to pretty good Chinese, and this was not bad at all! I actually took friends there they also liked it. So I am thinking, since this one is closer to my house I will go there frequently. But overall, I liked it :) read more

Average Chinese restaurant with excellent service. This place has a very cheap lunch menu. I got soup, an egg role, and a lunch plate for like $6! You'll pay for it eventually, though. For example I paid for it with the stomachache I had when I got back to work. read more

Decent food, fast, cheap and convenient location wise. I did get really sick once like seriously puking all night long from their sweet and sour chicken. I didn't complain but i sure as heck never ate that there again! I'm still suspicious about going back actually. read more

Great price on the lunch special but the food was terrible. Undercooked rice, bland flavors, and way too much breading on the orange chicken. The egg roll was alright but I would have preferred some meat in it. Probably won't be coming back here anytime soon... read more

Tasty food! Enjoyed my stay here Alyssa was great !!!!!!!! She's my favorite server ever !!

There are many levels of Chinese food and for this level they do a great job. They will change things to accommodate you. The wonton soup has great flavor and the Egg Foo Yong is outstanding and a huge portion. (3 large pieces) very crispy and so flavorful you don't really need the gravy unless you like it that way. read more

The printed menu's layout will make you think you've actually found a New York-style Chinese joint in Santa Fe, until you take a closer look: No eggplant. No scallion pancake. No fish (though they do serve shrimp and lobster). I don't know why another reviewer said the menu was "pretty big"; I found it limited. The food is okay. I mean, it's fine, but you wouldn't drive even across town for it. Most dishes I've tried have been pretty bland; if you ask for "spicy" they'll throw in a bunch of extra red pepper, but it's still floating around in bland sauce. I've never had anything unpleasant here, I want to make that clear, but neither have I ever had anything the least bit exciting. Yes, as others have noted, it's quite inexpensive and the portions are large. Those are actually the only reasons to go back, and why it gets even two stars from me. So if you're on a budget and really hungry--two conditions I admit pertain to me pretty often--this place will do just fine, as long as your expectations aren't all that high. read more

We drove in to ski late last night and was very hungry. This restaurant happened to be right next to our hotel. I was starving and just hoped it was decent Chinese food. I have to say I was impressed. We got the Mongolian beef which was really good. The garlic shrimp was equally good but had a lot of vegetables. My nephews wouldn't eat the vegetables so I ended up eating it all. The kung pao chicken was pretty good too. We got the low mein and I thought it was bland but it turns out the sauce was on the bottom. Once I mixed it it was pretty good. We had take out so that's why the sauce sank to the bottom. The portions were generous and I'm still eating the leftovers. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants Chinese American food. read more

Great choice, good food, great prices, good service. Good location. Good management. Simple decor. Very comfortable. No fancy here. Not the top of the line but the best Chinese food in town for the price and everyday lunch. Not greasy and choices of healthy dishes. A great place to eat when on a hurry and or not wanting to prepare your lunch. read more

This place is good for take out however also good for dining yet you have to be there within specific timeframe ( not too late for near closing time/ lunch time ) their chicken and brown rice is good as well as green bean veggies & beef is worth trying. read more

I always order the same thing, General Tso's chicken on the lunch menu. For a fair amount of money, you get a great serving which includes your entrée, rice, egg roll, and choice of soup. The taste is great. My family and I always walk out with full tummies and money on our wallet. read more

Yesterday, was the worst food service I have ever had. Finally, took the food to go. Several people walked out. Charged wrong, didn't get what we ordered. Waitress was the worst I've seen. Waiters were cussing and lady at front counter was rude. Whoever owns this restaurant needs to reevaluate. It is to bad because I was with people that had never eaten there and they lost customers. Training of staff goes a long way. read more

Good food, fast, courteous service. Great prices for Santa Fe especially the lunch menu.

You can't count on Double Dragon...often great, frequently appalling! If they are busy, forget it...as you seem to get everything out of the same pot. And a cold pot at that...we live pretty close, were there within 10 minutes of ordering, and the items were well bagged, but they were cold--not even warm--on opening (so we have to assume they were cold from the beginning). We ordered three entrees, at over $40, and they were exactly the same sauce and veggies, with different meats. We even called ahead to see what veggies came with each entree so we would get different choices...but we didn't get what they said. Happy Family, a "specialty" of the house, was not so happy...NO SEAFOOD...tons of chicken...and not worth the stiff price. Rice (brown) wasn't even cooked...crunchy, crunchy, crunchy. Happy Mother's Day? Our dinner for mom was a bust thanks to Double Dragon!!! read more

I was there yesterday when I ordered two (2) of the Lunch Combo Platters to take home. The facility itself appeared clean, however, there is a Large bowl of Wonton Noodles sitting uncovered on the counter, from which the Ungloved Waitress was scooping bowls to put on tables. The food itself is Mediocre, at Best. For the Soup I selected the Wanton, which tasted alright, but the Wontons were overcooked and glutinous. The Eggrolls, while half the normal restaurant size, were good. I had ordered the Sesame Chicken and Boneless Spareribs ~ the Chicken tastes alright, but is somewhat rubbery, and the Spareribs are nothing more than the traditional Roast Pork which they poured a weak orange sauce all over. The Fried Rice is unlike any I have ever seen, and is basically dull, consisting of tan-colored rice with a few peas and small pieces of onion thrown in. While the Prices are extremely Reasonable, and the Main Portions Large, I would Not recommend this as a Good Chinese Restaurant. read more

Cucumbers in moo goo gai Pan? And no water chestnuts? We had carry out. No sauce for egg rolls, no soy, no napkin. Egg rolls greasy, had to blot the grease off. General Tso Chicken soggy. I expected too much, I suspect. Chinese cooks using woks. Should have been great. Not. Maybe it was just a bad night but, sadly we won't be back read more

The worst Chinese food I've ever had. The table to begin with was nasty, the guy wiped it with wet towel and that was it he didnt even wipe it with a dry towel after. I can't believe they served an uncooked fried rice, and it didn't even taste like fried rice,my husband ordered chicken broccoli and they gave him some kind of slimy cabage chicken which was so gross. I'd rather go to Panda Express, so much better in my opinion. read more

Double Dragon is so YUMMY! I think it is better than all the over priced Santa Fe restaurants in it's category. Why, the taste. This place out does them all in taste. My husband almost fell out of his chair when we received the bill and it was only $12.71 for two lunch specials and two drinks. I still had leftovers for lunch the next day. Delicious. I hope this place does well and stays in Santa Fe! read more

Don't ever eat at this place!!! The waitress we had was rude and inconsiderate, and refused to offer to get a manager when we complained about the food. The food tastes like it was reheated in the microwave and the service is just as bad as the food. Spend your money somewhere else please! read more

bleech! the food sucked! even my six year girl hated this place. do not waste your money at this so-called Chinese restaurant.

Absolutely mediocre mall Chinese food and I am pretty sure that the chicken ( if not the beef and pork too) are seitan, as in wheat meat/wheat gluten, not meat. That is why their meats have a slimy, mushy texture. The only reason they are considered good is that there is no good Chinese food in the state of NM. read more

This was THE worst Chinese restaurant I have ever been! I mean, how can you screw up Chinese food?!? My husband ordered Egg Foo Young with shrimp--terrible! I was going to order one of the Seafood platters, but found out the crab & lobster are imitation--was afraid to ask about the scallops! Went for something no one can mess up--Sesame Chicken w/ fried rice. Boy was I wrong! Waitress was pleasant but only there a week, so couldn't answer many questions. A hidden gem in Santa Fe! You enter and are confronted by a working counter and kitchen. Awesome scents hit you right away. The decor in the nice sized dining room is a bit austere, but refreshingly clean. I ordered a "chef's special - Dragon Phoenix". The vegetables and shrimp side was in a light white sauce. The vegetables were cooked but crisp as were the shrimp. The accompanying General Tsao chicken was in a light sweet/sour sauce and red pepper sauce. My partner had chicken and vegetables which he reported as being delicious. All was promptly served by a cheerful waitress. We will definitely be back! read more

Horrible service. The woman was a grouch and tossed the menu on the table. The little blonde tried to be nice but really felt like I was a bother. Never going there again! !! read more

Best Chinese I've had in Santa Fe since moving here in February. Believe me, we've been trying to find a place that can make a general's chicken, crab rangoon and beef lo mien like from home... It's still not the same, but it's the closest we've found. Chicken was crispy and just the right amount of sauce, although the sauce was too thick, maybe they put a little too much cornstarch. The chicken came with white rice, included in the price. The lo mien was tasty and steak well cooked, the noodles were thicker than I'm used to though. Crab rangoon was made with imitation meat, which I know is pretty standard, but the wraps were crisp and crunchy, not greasy or soggy. I liked that they have all the condiments and fortune cookies in bins to serve yourself when ordering take-out. We walked in one night around 8:30 and ordered. We left to get a bottle of wine at the other end of the parking lot and food was ready right when we got back, nice and quick. I'll be back! read more

Myself and my daughter went there about 3/4 months ago for lunch and the service was VERY poor. I saw a friend sitting next to me and I told her the service was bad. An employee (a young fake blond 20 something) looked at me and said we were very busy today and if you don't like it then get up and leave. I paid my bill and went to the front to speak to the owner/manage and was advise they were not there and left me standing there. The rude employee that had told me to leave came up front and I confronted her and advised her that she should not be rude to her customers. She then looked at me and said the following "Then you should not be taking bad about our business so get the F out of here and don't come back". (Who talks like that to their customers and with such foul language). There was other customers waiting to be seated and they advised me that she was rude to them. We all walked out together and we all said we will NEVER come back. What kind of business lets their staff talk to someone like that. I would give ZERO stars if I could. With so many BAD Review's why are people still eating their? read more

I walked into Double Dragon and it felt like I was walking into an old restaurant from my parents era in an old dying strip mall. Took a quick look around, there was no one there and I would soon find out why. It felt like it was an inconvenience to the young kid who walked me to the first table by the front door and plopped the menus down. I politely asked if I could sit in a booth away from the front door. With a quick "Yeah, sure" he walked away. I picked up my menus and chose a booth. After a quick glance at the daily specials my son and I chose something to eat. After a lengthy wait of 15 minutes he dropped of some waters and asked if we were ready. I ordered the sweet and sour pork special and I believe that my son ordered the sweet and sour chicken as well. Our food came swimming in a pool of grease. The egg rolls tasted like they came from the frozen section of Sam's Club. I am not even going to describe how unpleasant our entries were. Clearly, once is more than enough for some places. read more

For the love of all that is good do not attend this institution. I have recently been ridiculed by Double Dragon's so called customer service. Because it is such a lovely day I decided to engorge myself, I hoped their pleasant food would delight my stomach, instead I was betrayed. In all of life I have never come across such a plane act of disrespect. My day has been utterly ruined by their lack of care for the customers that help support the business. I ordered the lunch special sweet and sour chicken, I took it to school and started to eat. The food alright, nothing special but not horrendous but little did I know Double Dragons plan to stunt the development of mind had already succeeded. Because of their in competence, there was a small break in the plastic container they gave me to dine out off. I looked and with horror saw, the mediocre tasting sweet and sour sauce covered my slacks. It looked like blood ruining through the rivers of hell. I released this was not time to be at school. I was forced to exit my place of learning, I had to give my chance at a quality education. Double Dragon has ruined everything I have worked for. read more
