S7. General Tso's Chicken

The lunch special is a lot of food for a little money! The server aimed to please. I got General Tsos chicken and it was made with delicious white meat. Crab Rangoon was amazing.

Sweet and Sour Pork with egg drop soup - a lunch special

I am not sure why this restaurant has the reviews it does. I took a chance and stopped by for lunch yesterday. Maybe people see the back end as cluttered without realizing that is the back of the restaurant and is used for storage. If you come in the front door, you will find a clean and comfortable seating. I mentioned to my waitress that I was in a rush, made my order, and went to the bathroom. When I came back, my soup and drink were waiting for me. Before I could fully consume the soup, my main course showed up. Sweet and Sour Pork. It was a large portion and tasted as good as any Sweet and Sour Pork I have eaten anywhere. Good food, good service, and a pleasant atmosphere will bring me back to Double Dragon II again.

I'm certainly happy with what I was served. In fact, the curry flavor has been kicked up a notch. Someone knows their spices where they are bangin' pots and boilin' and steamin' stuff. This Oklahoma Cowboy and Texan has been to nice Chinese all over. It's about the only food I eat in England. English desserts as the main course, of course. Back to the food at hand. I got what I came for and I know the difference between kicking up the flavor to compliment both sweet and savory meat and infuse the egg with a little giddy-up! Bingo.

Fast service by a very nice waitress with delicious chicken. Great egg drop soup while you wait with calming music. Great prices for dishes but pork fried rice was a little starchy.

We had a top night at Jinja! The place was hopping and the ambiance was perfect. Our waiter, Juan,…read morewas amazing and helpful with our menu and drink questions. We started the evening with the Volcano, a drink that's on fire upon arrival. So fun and delicious. As we were munching on the assortment of veggies and shrimp from the Tempura appetizer, the Southern Belle cocktail (oh so perfectly peachy) and a Mandarin Blossom martini arrived. Delicious! We probably should have stopped there, but the drink menu is just too tempting! So we shared a final cocktail, the Mango Mojito. And we weren't the only folks celebrating. We saw several reserved tables full of happy people commemorating their moments at Jinja, too.

INCREDIBLE. After living in Santa Fe for 30 years I can…read moretruly say that Jinja came on the scene quite some time ago, I just went there today and the restaurant is absolutely thriving with a full bar and every table occupied! Over the years, I've had a few things on the menu, but my absolute favorite, which is one of my absolute favorite dishes I've ever had is their Singapore Style Noodles Singapore style noodles is often my go to when I have to eat cheap fast Chinese food in Tennessee or other less sophisticated places This is different ! The way the chef executes this incredible dish reminds me a little more of Thai or Laotian food than Chinese ! The noodles have such a complex curry with a bit of sweetness they are not the standard yellow curry powder that you can buy off Amazon. The Char Sui Pork in the dish is to die for !! moist, tender and perfectly tasty Interesting that it is served with a lime wedge, which definitely makes me think Thai influence! Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this dish after having it many times over the years and will truly say it is one of the best Asian dishes I've ever eaten anywhere including Los Angeles, Hawaii, and Washington DC all of which I resided in Maybe I'll find something better on a trip to Hong Kong who knows ?? By the way, I met Jesus here (Not the holy resurrected one ! ) He's a friendliest bartender you will ever meet and he made me the very best Mai Thai I've ever tried, which is their house specialty drink. I also met the owners of a wonderful art gallery in Santa Fe today. Who I plan to stay in touch with INCREDIBLE experience Jinja ROCKS. Deserves five stars or more

Geronimo doesn't really need another five-star review, but our experience tonight was so lovely…read morethat I am writing this. The goodness began with Naomi, who helped me fix an error in my reservation and get a table at a good time tonight. The goodness continued with our server Mitzi, who should be teaching graduate classes in hospitality in every big city. She was friendly without being overbearing, informative without being pedantic, subtle and gracious. Now, the food! My wife chose the vegetarian tasting menu and I had some of each dish: so very flavorful (a green salad with pears, a life-changing mushroom bisque [and I don't like mushrooms!], a chickpea croquette with pickled artichoke hearts and ratatouille, and a substitution of the lemon crepe for three yummy scoops of sorbet and gelato. I chose the scallops, perfectly cooked and moist, over couscous, and a dish of tasty sauteed baby spinach. A wonderful experience, and not overpriced, and everyone treated us sweetly. The musical soundtrack was swinging, and at a compassionate volume. Our first trip to Santa Fe, and we found a gem. Hooray! And thank you, Mitzi!

This was our last dinner out in Santa Fe and was the best dining and culinary experience here…read more Everyone told us this is the best fine dining in the entire state and they were correct. The interior is classy and very comfortable. We were seated at a nice comfy corner booth. The soft music in the background was soothing and just noticeable enough without being a distraction. We were served complimentary flutes of local sparking wine and a fresh baked bread basket and butter to start. We then ordered cocktails and three starters. First was a split plate of the endive smoked duck salad with a warm bacon vinegarette. Wow...this was nice and refreshing. This was followed by the crab dumplings with fresh corn and peas and lobster sauce. Delicious! The final small plate was seared foie gras on top of banana bread toast. This was very good. I miss foie gras. Unfortunately, it's banned in California. They had a 2023 Sea Smoke "Ten"Pi ot Noir on the wine list. This is one of the best Pinot Noirs produced in California and not easy to find. This was a no doubter and we ordered a bottle to pair with our entrees. My wife ordered their signature elk tenderloin for redemption because the restaurant the night before failed at executing this. I ordered the tomahawk pork chop. This was cooked to perfection with a nice thin crust on the outside and a perfect very light pink juicy center. We ordered a side of brocolini that was pan roasted with shallots and butter. Everything was very good and Michelin grade in our opinion. Lastly we ended the evening and split the tiramasu type of desert. My wife had the expresso martini and I had an 18 year old Glen Morangie scotch neat. The service was excellent and worth the splurge. This is a must when visiting Santa Fe.

Visiting Santa Fe from Oklahoma and we wanted to try Asian food while here…read more The dumplings are truly SO delicious! We ordered pan-fried Rainbow dumplings as well as steamed pork buns. Hands-down some of the best dumplings I have ever had! On top of that-- the owners are so friendly and kind! Gregory, one of the owners, is so hospitable. He sat with us as we asked about recommendations for "night life" and he suggested Cowgirls. Him and his wife even met-up with us there! It was such an enjoyable night and I loved getting to know them and how they started the restaurant. Amazing people, amazing food- highly recommend!

In addition to a good chunk of the menu being unavailable, including several dishes I had wanted to try, the restaurant was so understaffed that it took the better part of an hour to get seated and receive our food. Given that our entire order was one set of dumplings and a bibimbap, that's really not ok. And, while we received thanks for our patience, we did not receive a write-down of the ticket or any dishes on the house. Although the restaurant seemed like a pleasant place to wait out our time at first, its tranquility was repeatedly spoiled by alarms from the kitchen, and eventually, the strong smell of burning. Although that smell was quickly taken away by the fume hood, we revisited it again outside after we left. Pork Dumplings in Hot Soup - 2/5 The soup was mild and pleasant, but the filling was a dense mass with an unpleasant aftertaste from a less nice cut of pork. Bibimbamp - 3/5 Decent, especially for the price, but nothing to write home about. There was too much rice in proportion to the vegetables, and not really enough room in the bowl to comfortably mix the dish without worrying about spilling it on the table. We're big fans of both Korean food and Chinese dumplings, so we'd really wanted to like this place. What a shame.
