Went here on Thanksgiving night because it was the only place that was open. Was not expecting much. We were pleasantly surprised when we shared a beautiful Chicken Biryani. Excellent international flavor and lovingly presented... Wasn't quite hot enough since I ordered it Indian hot, but this is a common theme for me as I like things spicier than they generally come. The food my wife and I ordered was all perfect! Flavorful Garlic Naan--crispy, yet chewy and loaded with garlic. The creamy Masala Tea was a perfect accompaniment with it's cardamom, cinnamon, clove and sweet basil notes. Our entrees, Red Curry Chicken and Saag Paneer, were equally great! Generous chunks of stewed chicken in garlic, tomatoes, ginger and rich red curry topped my list, but the Saag Paneer with all of the layers of flavor--creamy spinach, sautéed with garlic, herbs and house recipe spices--came in a close second. Our server, Furba, was so attentive and personable--it was as if we were eating at his family home! As the co-owners were overseeing the night's operation, we were met at the door by such warmth and welcoming calmness. The gentleman owner was such a kind soul. This place is one of the splendors of the Santa Fe dining scene. With its quaint, yet upscale interior, great service and excellent food, I will be back. We ordered the Vegetable Biryani, Baingan Barta, Malai Kofta, and Garlic Naan. The Garlic Naan didn't have too much garlic flavor, and that is something I prefer. The vegetable biryani was flavorful, and the Baingan Barta was pretty good. The Malai Kofta was so delicious that we ordered it twice. I visited India Palace and their charming downtown Santa Fe restaurant in late August 2023. My friend and I had finally broken free of Covid fears and decided to dress up and go out on the town for a "Cinderella" night. We made reservations for India Palace, and a concert at the Cathedral downtown...if you've never been, it's quite a sight! It's with easy walking distance from the Plaza and all that has to offer. Our waiter, Ferbie was young but very friendly and professional. He took care of our every need. But the end of the dinner, I felt like he was an old friend. My family and I were lucky enough to eat at India Palace over the Holidays. We learned that new owners had taken over and it had just been open a few days. We're from NY and know good Indian food. Everything (and we ordered a lot) was EXCELLENT. The staff was still getting their bearings, but were so helpful with the ordering process and very attentive to any of our requests. Been wanting to try a buffet since I moved to Santa Fe and I decided on India Palace. The place was pretty empty when I got there at about 11:15am on a Thursday; just one couple that for some reason I was seated at the adjacent table to. There was enough space so that it wasn't uncomfortable, but I would've liked to be in my own space and just EAT. The waiters were all very courteous and attentive, almost overly so which I think was in part because there was no one else there. The water glasses are pretty small, and they had to fill mine at least 6 or 7 times (promptly) over the course of the meal. The selection wasn't nearly as large as other buffets I've been to, especially being a vegetarian, but you really don't need much as long as the dishes are good. And they sure were. I had a vegetable curry and lentil dal, a ton of spiced rice, spring greens, and two servings of hot fresh naan. The naan was a bit crispier than I'm used to, but I'm sure some people would prefer that. Had 3 massive plates before I decided to call it. $19 for a buffet seemed a bit much to me, but I know I got my money's worth and I don't eat out very often. Still less than the one other Indian buffet in town. Very friendly place and I'll surely be back. read more

The samosas had more bite than I usually experience, but were delicious, and the Navaratan Korma was lovely, so rich in flavor. The naan was the best I've ever had.
