We had a top notch lunch on what was our last day in Santa Fe before escaping the storms last week. I enjoyed the most delicious mezcal marg and we shared incredible house made tortilla chips and quacamole. My husband ordered the chicken enchiladas with red and green chile sauces over the top served alongside rice and beans. I ordered the green chile chicken posole bowl that was served alongside tortilla chips, radishes and lime wedges. The staff was so friendly and accomodating. They really added to the positive experience. We sat out on the patio and it was a nice day for it. I bought some of the fresh biscochitos cookies and took for our trip back. They were so excellent. While visiting my son in Rio Rancho, we took the train to Santa Fe for the day. We ended coming here, where he ordered Enchiladas de Pollo en Mole. He has become a Mole connoisseur and that is what he ordered along along with a Margarita and to share chips & salsa for us. I am pescatarian, but I settled for the Enchiladas de Calabacitas (zucchini) served with rice and beans. To drink I had 'Agua Fresca' (lemonade with mint). They claim that their cuisine is uniqueness of Southern Mexico. The food is good, but it is Americanized. In Mexico enchiladas are not prepared stacked and never served with Cheddar and Jack cheese. Never with red or green chile from NM. In Mexico they are served in either some kind of salsa roja or tomatillo. Burritos are a border dish from the State of Chihuahua. If you happen to find Burritos in an eatery in Mexico, Mexicans make fun that it is gringo food. Flour tortillas are from Northern Mexico and are eaten as you would bread on the side, seldom found in Southern restaurants. Tres Colores it is a cute place with good service, but they should state that their cuisine is New Mexican, not Mexican. You order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. Paying at the counter with a card they suggest gratuity with options higher than 15%. That is a turn off. read more

We came in on a weekday around 7:30 PM. As we were driving by looking for parking, we saw the tables and chairs being moved into the gravel. We thought we might have got the closing time mixed up so once we found a parking spot, I went over to ask. They said they were moving all of the tables so that they could clean the concrete pathway. We asked if it was OK we sat outside still with our dog and they said that was fine. They moved us to the other side of the pillar which we originally didn't mind but then quickly realized there's no lighting there. So we were eating dinner in a very dim lit area. After reading the reviews, we were excited to try the fish tacos, tamales, and fresh chips and salsa. Unfortunately, none of these really were superstar standouts for us. The blackened fish didn't have a ton of flavor. I found myself searching for a salsa that had a little bit of salt and flavor to spruce up the fish taco. I ate one of the three and my husband ate the remaining. The tamales tasted fresh and the ratio of protein to masa was great. We ate the tamale mostly without the mole sauce, which we didn't really care for. The salsa and chips that came out as an appetizer were fine. The salsas were different and flavorful. I wish that when they dropped off the different salsas (which they do on a rotation) they would have explained what each one was. read more

A waiter helped us push two tables together and even placed some shims under the legs so they wouldn't wobble. We browsed the menu and placed our order at the counter. Tried this place when passing through on a road trip. They had a covered patio, which was perfect for our kiddo who can be a crab about sitting outside if it's sunny. Our service was very friendly + helpful. I also loved that everything on the menu was clearly marked regarding gluten. Stopped in for a quick lunch, and wow did our meal exceeded expectations!! The barbacoa tacos had tender, flavorful meat that was complimented nicely by the slaw. The Mexican torta was incredible!! The bread was delicious, soft, and lite. The meats, pickle relish, and chipotle mayo have my mouth watering thinking back to them while I write this. The lemon ginger mint agua fresca was refreshing, and was great with the flavors of the meal. The tacos were a little spendy for their size, but they were really tasty and good ingredients. The salsas it came with were unfortunately lacking flavor. Our main dish was the beef enchiladas with beans and rice. Good flavors in the green and red sauce that covered the enchiladas, but other than that, somewhat disappointing. The beef in the enchiladas was a rough chewy carne and the beans and rice lacked flavors. Service was great though and appreciate the hustle of the workers there. The man who took our order was a delight. Our drinks were great food good seasoning, but I have to be honest here- the adovada plate was a bit dry.
