Brisket tacos and chicken fried steak, both delicious
    Bob E.

One of our best meals in New Mexico so far and we've been to Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Taos. The food quality is top notch, the service is friendly, pleasant, and quick. Very accommodating staff. Margaritas as good as any around Santa Fe plaza and much better price 30-40% less depending on what type you order. This is where the locals go. That should tell you something. Will definitely come back.

This place reminded me of a, restaurant with the same name in Pueble, CO. The service and the food were both very good. I'm partial to "mom and pip" restaurants where the people work very hard.

Recommend: No Food: I ordered the chilaquiles, which come with Tortilla chips sautéed with chile, cheese, and onions. Served with two eggs, beans, pantry fries, and garnish. The chips were fresh and crunchy (they grab them out of a big tub that's under the register), they are doused with chile sauce and I think cheddar cheese. I asked for the eggs over hard and they came sunny side up. They had to remake them. The beans tasted as if they were from a can and the potato's were there. The entire plate was bland other than the chiles spicy was. My mom got the brisket tacos and she said they were dry and also lacked seasoning. She said the same about the beans. Service: They are extremely busy so service was slow. I never got a refill on my coffee and it took a while to get my check. We were not checked on throughout the visit and we were sitting at the counter which is literally across from the kitchen and wait staff continually passed us by. Ambiance: it reminded me of an old timey diner with the counter seating across from the kitchen. It is somewhat old but very busy. Be prepared for long wait times. I am def the odd person here in that I did not care for the food here. Not sure how other people gave it the ratings that it has.

Great service. Love to stop here when in Santa Fe! I ordered the smothered burrito with bacon. I LOVE the chile when in NM. Unfortunately, my palate doesn't tolerate high heat, so I have to get the chile smothering on the side. The chile had an excellent flavor. The amount of cheese in the heavily stuffed burrito was parfecto!

Great food every time we have been here. I got breakfast which was eggs, pan sausage and a pancake (instead of toast). You have to try the sopapias here -- they are famous for them. Attaching a picture of them. Some folks like honey, some powdered sugar and my niece likes butter and honey. You can tell they make them from scratch and they are huge. Hope you enjoy them. The Pantry is one of our favorite places when we r in Santa Fe. The service is top notch and the atmosphere is relaxed and homey. You might have to wait for a table, but it will be worth it. Enjoy!

Fried steak and eggs - A breakfast meal featuring a fried steak covered with gravy and two fried eggs with runny yolks, served on a round wooden plate. The background shows a blurred restaurant setting with mugs and utensils.

We saw a crowd waiting the day before so we had to try it. Was told a 30 minute wait, but was much less. Great service. Ordered, food came relatively quickly. The cinnamon roll was huge - we shared - and very sweet! My breakfast "sandwich" was just ok, kinda mushy and not a lot of flavor. I got without chiles - so I think it may depend on this. Mom ordered the steak, gravy on side - came with gravy on it. I think they wanted to hide that it was not crispy but chewy. I don't know that we will be back in Santa Fe again, but if we are - looking for somewhere else for breakfast!

Excellent breakfast. Good breakfast options. Highly recommend if you're walking around Santa Fe. Been there a few times and they are always busy. I imagine weekends you might have to wait for a table.

This is a true fast-paced diner, and it nails the experience every time. The food is consistently spot on, the service is exactly what you'd expect fast, friendly, and your coffee cup is never empty. But also...there is no rush...you can take your time!!!! This is the OG location, so it feels like a local hangout, and the ambiance matches. Classic New Mexico diner vibes all the way. We go every time we're in town, always for breakfast. Whether it's just two eggs over easy or something more complex, it always hits the mark. And the cinnamon buns? Worth a stop on their own. Seriously good. If you're visiting Santa Fe, don't skip this place. 10/10.

Cozy hole-in-the-wall restaurant has plenty of room. As good as everyone says! I ordered the Durango Omelette and it was big and tasty. I had the green sauce on the side because not sure how hot it would be but realized it was just right. Others had chilaquiles, lindo scramble and the chorizo omelette, chicken fried steak and eggs. We shared the blue corn pancake as it was very large. Everyone liked what they had ordered. Service was attentive up to ordering after that the waitress never refreshed coffee and when someone at our table asked for a refresh it was done but she never asked if anyone else wanted some. Breakfast Cons: store bought flour tortillas, lukewarm okay coffee.

Best restaurant in Santa Fe I have been to. Every time we visit Santa Fe, we must have a meal at this place. The combination plate is a good choice if you don't know what to choose. Everything on the plate is delicious

Chips & Queso - A basket containing tortilla chips lined with paper, placed on a dark table, with a cup of cheese dip held in a person's hand nearby. The setting appears to be a casual dining environment, likely a restaurant or cafe.

What friendly service & staff, immediately as you walk in the door! I love that the restaurant features art from artists & art for sale. Makes a lovely charm & gallery feel. I ordered the chips and queso for an appetizer and then I ordered the Chile Rellenos. Both were ok, good cheese, & fresh. Really easy parking.

Great place for breakfast! Great service and food, very relaxed place for breakfast! The Durango Omelette was unique and delicious.

For my husband's meal, he ordered green chile enchiladas, smothered in their famous hatch green chile and melted cheese. The sauce had that perfect New Mexican balance -- flavorful, a little smoky, and with just enough heat to keep things interesting without overpowering the dish. I went with chicken tacos, served with Spanish rice and all the fresh toppings. The tacos were loaded with shredded chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and salsa, and the rice on the side was fluffy and well seasoned. To drink, I tried a layered frozen margarita, which was as fun to look at as it was to drink -- icy, refreshing, and perfect for a sunny afternoon on the patio. My husband had a cold beer, it made for the ultimate Santa Fe lunch combo. Between the flavorful food, the relaxed patio atmosphere, and the classic New Mexican dishes done right, Tomasita's is one of those spots that reminds you why Santa Fe's food scene is so special. Not really sure what all the hype is about when there are definitely better spots to eat around Santa Fe. I ordered the carne adovada. The red chile sauce felt pretty one-note and the pork was on the tough side, which was disappointing given how popular the dish is there. Honestly, the chips and salsa were the highlight of the meal. The salsa definitely has some heat to it too . Overall, between the long wait and average food, it just didn't live up to the reputation.

The red has that deep, earthy flavor with just the right kick, while the green brings a brighter, roasted heat that balances everything out. Together? That classic "Christmas style" combo that hits on every level. The masa was soft and flavorful (not dry like you get at some places), and the filling was generous and well-seasoned. The sides sealed the deal--fluffy Spanish rice, hearty beans, and a fresh, crisp salad that cut through the richness perfectly. Portion size was solid, presentation was clean, and everything tasted like it was made with care--not rushed, not watered down for tourists. Service was quick, friendly, and exactly what you want when you're trying to keep a night moving. Authentic, satisfying, and exactly what you hope for when you come to Santa Fe. They moved us to the other side of the pillar which we originally didn't mind but then quickly realized there's no lighting there. So we were eating dinner in a very dim lit area. After reading the reviews, we were excited to try the fish tacos, tamales, and fresh chips and salsa. Unfortunately, none of these really were superstar standouts for us. The blackened fish didn't have a ton of flavor. I found myself searching for a salsa that had a little bit of salt and flavor to spruce up the fish taco. I ate one of the three and my husband ate the remaining. The tamales tasted fresh and the ratio of protein to masa was great. We ate the tamale mostly without the mole sauce, which we didn't really care for. The salsa and chips that came out as an appetizer were fine. The salsas were different and flavorful. I wish that when they dropped off the different salsas (which they do on a rotation) they would have explained what each one was.
