Perfect for a celebration and to taste various delicious plates. Don't come starving unless you want to blow the bank.

Food is nothing out of this world. Dessert was terrible. Don't order the Bonfire dessert. The only thing that was good about this restaurant was the live band playing. They were awesome! read more

First time dining, for brunch. We called ahead of time to make sure we would be able to be seated. When we arrived the hostess told us to sit at the bar, we informed her it was our first time dining. She sat us after confirming with management. The service was wonderful and the dining experience was definitely on point. Overall we enjoyed the entire experience. Looking forward to coming back for dinner. Great recommendations from friends. Beautiful and uniquely decorated Hotel. read more

Okay ... So I have never really heard of this place before and kind of stumbled upon it. Oh my gosh. Most amazing place I have been to in a long time. I'm not just saying amazing because of the food. The customer service and hospitality was incredible. Katie (let me say this again) KATIE WAS INCREDIBLE. Ask for her when you come. So helpful and made our experience one of a kind. read more

My husband and I ate here on Valentine's Day for brunch. We did not have a reservation but they were able to find us a table despite being very busy. The specialty cocktails, food, and service were wonderful. The ambience was delightful with the live band and we could not get enough of the gorgeous decor! We will definitely be back! read more

We had about 8 of the small plates, including the fried rabbit (which was great). We were not disappointed with a single dish, service was great, really nice drink list that reflects Texas, we recommend. read more

The ambiance is great. Brunch was average, nothing spectacular. I had the pork and grits which were pretty good. The chicken sandwich was not good. read more

Incredible dining experience for everyone in our large party. Our table was sat about 30 mins after the time we reserved, but the managers welcomed us with two bottles of champagne. Gracious wine selection and flavor profiles on all of the dishes. My favorite was the short ribs and ceviche. Impeccable atmosphere for a Saturday night with live music and dancing. read more

They have Botonist gin and make a great martini! Great place to finish off the night before heading upstairs to bed.

Had an amazing dining experience here last night. Filled with surprise, unexpected touches and food filled with a depth that resonated. Gorgeous setting, amazing views over Austin and free 2 hr valet parking started us off on the right foot. Waiter was fantastic and attentive. Tried the sunflower risotto first. Wow, talk about surprising and unexpected melodies of flavors. Citrusy, yet nutty. Fresh yet developed flavor. The sirloin steak dish was on par as well. Actually, the cloud like puff of potato and mushroom mixture underneath resonated more with me than the steak. Those hush puppies are still lingering on my tastebud's memory. Hot sauce mixed with the creamy sauce mixed with the fermented chiles in the hush puppies made an out of this world combo!! The sauce came in a lovely little glass bottle. Being pregnant, I was sad about not being able to try a cocktail so I went with a mock tail. Was beautifully served with a live orchid on top. Very refreshing but needed that gin or something sweet to balance it. Ok, so at the end when we got our bill....they gave it to us not in one of those typical plastic trays but in a vintage book that looked like it was from the late 1800's or early 1900's. Never been so pleasantly surprised by the way my bill was presented. Love that touch. read more

Perfect dining experience. Chestnut honey with sweet potato beignet dessert was a party in my mouth with every bit.

If there was a good score the place would get a 2.5, for decor it would get a 4.5. Really nice place, but the food lacked any trace of defining flavor. I went with my girlfriend for brunch. Had the quiche, French toast, short rib potato hash. The quiche was under cooked and had no flavor. The French toast was very bland, felt like it needed nutmeg or cinnamon. The short rib was great but the portion was maybe 4/5 bites, would need to order two of them to feel full probably. read more

The atmosphere is great - awesome décor and nice patio by the hotel pool. Definitely not something you'd ever expect to see on Rainey street. However, the food is good, but not exceptional, and certainly not worth the steep prices for such small portions. All of the dishes are "share plates", which means you'll only be getting a few bites of each plate, and even less if you're dining with more than 1 person. Short rib was great but literally about 3-4 bites each for my date and I. Same portion with the cauliflower dish, which was a little bland. Hush puppies were good but I would think it would be hard to really screw those up. I'd probably go back for just drinks. There are many other places in Austin where the food is just as good, or better, for the price you're paying. read more

I had brunch and was deeply disappointed. I has an Texas farm omelet and basically that is what they served me in a white plate. I expected more out of a restaurant of this level. Basically egg on the middle of a white plate, no garnishing, no potatoes, no parsley Nothing. They had a live band which is nice. But it was too loud for breakfast time. I had a Bloody Mary and it was also not the best. read more

Geraldine's puzzles me: On one hand, I really want to love it. On the other, there's something about it that just leaves me feeling distinctly unsatisfied. I'm not really certain how to reconcile it. I will say that it's definitely marketed as a trendy, up-scale place. Small plate options for sharing, different types of seating for pairs, can seat larger groups. Service was lovely. To start: their drinks menu is amazing. There's a ton of wine options, and they have some fun, clever cocktails too. Prices are pretty in-line with other tourist-type locations around Austin. Expensive, but not unreasonable. For two people, we ordered 3 small plates and a dessert. It was enough food for two un-ambitious eaters, but if you prefer larger portions, prepare to order more. We probably could have gotten another plate and done well with it. The waitress recommended the smoked yellow taco: it was good, but not my thing. It's very much as-described, so if it sounds good to you, chances are you'll like it. The warm chicory salad was tasty (the walnuts were an inspired addition) but not show-stopping. The crispy pork ribs were easily the stand-out of the dinner plates and I probably would have been happy having a plate all to myself. Dessert was interesting ("Biscuits and gravy"). It's a clever play on dessert and I really enjoyed it. Ultimately I feel as if the prices aren't really a reflection of the quality of the meal (bland, boring, small servings) you get. The quality is undeniable. It was all just...a bit flat for me and left me feeling very "meh." read more

Only complaint is the water was not filtered. Undrinkable! A high end restaurant should never serve unpalatable water. Cocktails were great. Short ribs were fab. Ceviche taco = YUM. read more

Awesome restaurant and atmosphere! Our server Sami was great and so patient he told us what the best foods and drinks were and dealt with all 9 girls. Definitely coming back and would highly recommend. Had the heirloom salad and short rib sandwich. For desert you much try the ice cream sandwich (had basil icecream?) and the blackberry cobbler. read more

Great atmosphere and awesome live music. But.....dang it was expensive. Food was delicious, but they were small appetizer portions at $25-$30 each. Four of us had a small dinner and a bottle of wine....bill was over $500. Ouch! read more

We were not impressed. The farmer's market salad was good other than that not much, we felt like they don't care and the host had bad day probably. read more

We chose this spot for our big night out for the weekend and it was outstanding. The ribs and beet salad were great and the service was exceptional. After two pitchers of motitos ... time to edit myself. read more

We went there for Thanksgiving Day lunch. The place is dark and is better suited for dinner it's actually depressing during the day. The food was very expensive and unimpressive. A thanksgiving dish was $35 and looked more like an appetizer; the turkey was ok but the rest was shameful for any restaurant that wants to be called decent. Maybe a good place to go for drinks and some cheese and prosciutto in the evening. Otherwise, disappointing. And expensive. read more

This place is a must visit if you're in Austin! Popular place for date night. Beautiful interiors, live music, not too loud, and connected to the rooftop pool for this hotel where you can soak in the view of the city. Their staff is friendly and drinks are delicious. There is a long wait time for Sunday brunch. Make a reservation in advance. 5/5 for ambiance and food. It is on the expensive side though. read more

Heads up if you have a large group and expect good service - be forewarned. They couldn't care less. It is what it is and you take what they give you. The whole "we have enough business" attitude is rampant here. read more

Be sure to bring your best snobbery. This is an attractive place but when walking in to an empty restaurant for breakfast and being told that nothing is available for an hour and half.....made me feel like the gay version of Mr & Ms Bates from Downton Abby. read more

Delicious small plates, great live music and great ambience! Right outside of Rainey Street with lots to do!

I came here for Sunday brunch. They had a wonderful band playing (a little loud but very good). The food was fantastic. What really made this a five star review was the great service. Our server, Sarah, was so kind and attentive, gave great recommendations, and accommodated our custom requests. Highly recommend this place. read more

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Absolutely the worst dining experience. The service was so slow. The waitress was surely. Food was average. Would never recommend to anyone. Please don't review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you're connected in any way to the owner or employees. read more

My wife and I shared a fantastic meal at Geraldine's on a Saturday night. The kitchen delivers some of the most creative and satisfying food in Austin. However, if I were running the kitchen, I would be furious with the front of the house. The sloppy, inattentive, mostly cold service completely overshadowed the great work being done in the kitchen. It's as if you have adults in the kitchen and (mean) high-schoolers hosting and serving diners. My wife and I played a game of watching diners' faces as they ate (majority smiles) and their faces as wait staff approached (majority frowns). The game was fun until we realized that so many people were feeling as uncomfortable as we were. We left disappointed. Geraldine's could be an outstanding place for a festive, high-quality meal with a grownup or two overseeing the dining room. Finally, beware parking on a Friday or Saturday night. Valet often fills up (confirmed by the valet manager) leaving very few nearby parking options. It took us 40 minutes to sort parking out. Also, don't expect an apology from valet or anyone at Geraldine's. They are masters at the shrug with a smile, but not much more. read more

We sat down to great music and a great atmosphere, ready for a fun and yummy jazz brunch. Looking at the menu, everything sounded so good, it was hard to make a decision, but I ended up going with one of the waiter's recommendations, the fried potato tot hash. Unfortunately, it was not super flavorful, lacking seasoning. I asked for Tabasco, which helped. Under-seasoning of food seemed to be a theme for all of my friends' food as well (there were 7 of us total, with 4 different dishes tried). The service was ok, by Austin standards, but I had to flag down the waiter every time I needed something. He definitely was not proactive, but he was friendly enough and did not forget anything, so I call that a win! With so many great brunch options in Austin, I probably will not go back. read more

Fried whole rabbit, steak or ribs...that's pretty much the only options here for an actual meal. The place is set up beautifully and would be nice for appetizers or dessert. This is similar to a tapas bar sort of over priced Bar food if bar food was rabbit and duck. Not my cup of tea for dinner. read more

Amazing food ! I highly recommend the smoked carrots ! Portion size could be more, but, over all a great experience!

We were not impressed with their bar menu: not enough choices, no descriptions and it wasn't ideal to eat at a bar! Even so, the staff was friendly and the restaurant is lovely. read more

Don't walk in hungry because you will be disappointed. The restaurant goes to extremes to save on food costs. We paid $14 for an "heirloom tomato salad" with no lettuce and about a quarter of a tomato chopped into small pieces. The portion sizes were minuscule at best with no protein to be found but a $45 steak. The music and ambiance were nice but I definitely would not plan on eating there again. read more

I had an event planned at Geraldine's over 2 weeks before the date, and they called to cancel the reservation due to "double booking" and tell me anything I had planned was off the table 1.5 days before the event- 30 people, special order cake and cocktails, invitations had been sent out already, etc. The manager was very unapologetic, unwilling to compromise, and I was very disheartened. I will never give Geraldine's my business again because they're customer service is so poor. read more

Pros: Good food, great ambiance. We ordered crab toast and quesadilla with potatoes on the side and they were very good. We also ordered a cocktail called brewed looks like a latte and it was good too. Cons: Bad service. After we were seated, we ordered drink and 5 minutes later our food. We waited and waited. Our cocktail nor food had arrived even after other table who arrived after us got their food and drinks. 30 minutes passed and our waiter said the kitchen messed our order up with other table. She said she had not put in and did not remember our order. I was a bit confuse because she took a note of our order and how the kitchen messed up if she had not put order in? My husband asked for a menu so we can put our order again and she just stand around, did not even try to offer any resolution. After my husband asked the menu for the 4th time, she finally pick it up for us. I was so upset. We left the table and told the receptionist that we want to make a complain. The manager came and asked us to stay after we explained the situation. She apologized and said that we were not the 1st one complaining about Kathleen. She took care of us and our bill. I am not sure if we will come back to Geraldine's. There are plenty of restaurants in Austin with much better service and food. They should pick their waiters more carefully. I cannot imagine if we bring guest or hungry kid into the restaurant and the situation like this happening again. read more

Way over priced and we left hungry. I didn't even have a huge appetite. In fact I had just had a major surgery and was barely hungry yet still left this place wanting more food. My friend and I spent $90 on brunch. She got chicken and waffles and I got eggs Benedict. We both had subpar bloody Mary's for $10 each. I don't mind paying for good food. This was ridiculous. I can't believe it has such high rating. Not worth it. Many other places to go to eat for brunch. read more

Wow. I look forward to coming back. The filet was phenomenal and we also enjoyed the goat tartare and the fried egg. The wine completed the meal. We splurged on the Mount Vedeer Cabernet. Yum. Great service. Highly recommend. read more

I will not go back. Not ready to pay $23.00 for a glass of mediocre red wine, poor service and not able to sit at a table even though we got there at 5:00. The manager said everything was reserved although the restaurant was only 1/2 full. Just too many other awesome places to eat in Austin.. read more

This review has nothing to do with the dinner service, so I'm sorry if that's what you're looking for. Unfortunately, we didn't even make it that far before the snooty, unhelpful bar service drove us out of the place. Personally, I'm not a fan of waiting 20 min for a cocktail being delivered from the inattentive waitress, or getting sas from the awful bartender- but if you are, have at it! Stars are for the atmosphere ( no thanks to the staff) read more
