Best Greek food! Excellent service always. We are repeat customers for the past 7-8 years.

I met a couple of friends here for a long lunch. The parking lot is nice and big which was a plus for my friend with her motorhome. The service was outstanding, even though we sat outside by ourselves, the staff was very attentive and not pushy. The food was very fresh and cooked perfectly as requested. A nice menu with plenty of choices. The wine was, meh, so that is why I did not give five stars. A well-run restaurant with a staff that prepares very good food with nice portion sizes. read more

Bland on Bland! This is was my 3rd try. It's not for me. I've never had Greek food this bland ever in my life.

Very mixed feelings about this place. The service at the front counter was odd. I walked in and the young man there just stared at me. No greeting, no smile, no nothing. It went on and on and on. It was really uncomfortable. Finally I asked him for a menu but then noticed two printed copies on the counter next to the register. And said "oh this must be the menu". Met with more staring. While I was ordering he held up his index finger to stop me, while he answered the phone and put them on hold. And before being charged he resumed conversation on phone order and pointed at me to sign screen for the bill. I watched him interact with a couple other customers, not much better. I guess he was having a bad day or some sort of other issue. I had the Gyro with fries. It was very good. Pita was excellent as was the shaved meat and tzatziki sauce. A few miles from our home and we kept forgetting to go try it out. We started with the hummus and Spanakopita. Then moved onto the Greek salad and Platter. We had a glass of Greek rose. My wife and I shared everything pita, tzatziki, olives, ...and it felt like we were in Greece all over again! Cons: not a lot of seating and can kind of see storage room in the back. No Dolmes on the menu. But this did not impact our dining. Pros: Very helpful when ordering. It was also a nice touch when they dropped off a small bite size treat for each of us at the table just before we left. Conclusion: We will definitely be back as often as we can! read more

I opted for the Gyro Pita sandwich platter ($13), a generous portion of freshly sliced, tender lamb gryo meat served on a soft pita with crispy french fries. My dining companion ordered the house-specialty Greek Salad ($14), a huge and tasty salad made with organic mixed greens, feta cheese, hard-boiled egg, garbanzo beans, olives, green peppers, red onion, pepperoncini peppers, cucumber, and tomato served with a house Greek dressing. Hear me out. The chicken gyro was tasty. It's very plain: chicken, tomato, onion and tzatziki, but the chicken was cooked well and the tzatziki was very good and garlicky. The 3 stars is really for the price. You get a medium to small sized gyro with a side and it was $14. I was pretty shocked by the price for a chicken gyro. I didn't see the prices on the menu and was just surprised when my two gyros with fries came out to over $30. Cooked well, just seemed pretty expensive for the ingredients. read more

This is located in a nice area. The atmosphere is clean and fresh. Upon entering, we were greeted and told we placed our order first and then sit down. The food was pleasant. Ingredients were fresh. My daughter got the special which was a shrimp pasta. I ordered a chicken feta salad. My daughters was very good. I liked mine, but I didn't like the dressing as much as other Greek dressings I've tasted. The pita bread was ok as well. Please do not let the reviews fool you. I've been working in the food industry for over 10 years and I've never experienced such horrible customer service and cheap food. First, upon arrival the place was completely empty and smells like mop water, and flies flying everywhere. Second, I sit with my date and order the hummus appetizer, my date notices that all the salt was densely collecting at the bottom, so we ask for them to take them back. Mind you, you pay and tip before you sit and are served. So "George" comes up and hand us a plastic box with 4 small slices of bread to "apologize." My date and I try our best to make light of the situation, but we can only eat half the dish we order because the chicken was insanely dry and the fries had obviously been sitting. Finally, on our way out I ask the waitress who was very kind, if I could please speak to George about getting the hummus we never ate taken off my bill, she proceeded to take my name and number and promised she'd have him call me when he got back. Over 48 hours pass and I CALL THEM, only to speak to "George" and find out he threw away the number and was never going to call me back. Lastly, i see what can be done to make this right and he told me there's nothing he can do unless I wanted to show up for a free meal when after this an entire experience? Absolutely no thank! I honestly hope this business continues to die and fail, because the lack of empathy, compassion, and professionalism, for your customers is karma you and your business deserve to pay for. read more

I love Mediterranean food - and George's Kitchen was excellent. Stopped in about a month ago & was not disappointed. There is plenty of parking, the restaurant was very bright, clean, with a friendly staff. Arrived about 4:30ish & was surprised to see it pretty empty which always makes me nervous as I'm thinking "is the food bad?" but people started popping in & they seemed to have a steady stream of online orders. You order at the counter, seat yourself, & fill up your own drinks. We were able to get a booth by the window, which meant we could see traffic on 16th Street - and bonus! my sister saw Cafe Mollie across the street (it's a boba / pastry shop; I wrote a review for them, too). The food came out very quickly, nice & hot, large portions. You know what that means: leftovers. Yum! All of the food was delicious. The only reason I did not give a 5-star review is because of the spinach. I simply do not like cooked spinach. To me it looks limp & soggy; very unappetizing. I would have preferred it if the spinach was uncooked. I would definitely visit George's Kitchen again. read more

Placed a to go order for a gyro with French fries and a coke (3.99 for a coke?), and a Greek salad lunch special. It came to $52 with tip. What a bummer. Ordered my favorite chicken Greek Salad for lunch and when I got it home I noticed it didn't have any of their wonderful Greek Feta on it, which really makes the salad, because it coats the lettuce when mixed. Long story short, after a couple of disappointingly rude exchanges, including with the owner Jim, they did nothing to make it right. I paid $23 for a salad that was not what I ordered. How hard is it to apologize and either give a credit for a salad next time or refund the order for a long time loyal customer? They lost a customer today. Very disappointing. And as if that wasn't enough, the day after I posted this review, the owner, Jim, thought it was a good idea to harass me a bit more and texted me randomly to tell me that I was a liar. Yikes! All of this because he forgot a main ingredient and thought he should blame and get angry at the customer for being disappointed? Get a gyro here at your own risk. read more

TL:DR - The food is amazing, particularly the Greek platter. Gyro meat is sliced thin which gives you a lot of crispy surface area. Rice is addicting. Kabob was a bit dry, but still good. Baklava was perfect without being overly soggy, syrupy, nor overly sweet. Looking to switch up our usual takeout rotation, we came to George's kitchen for some "Greek" food. We got the Greek platter to share and a gyro platter for our party of 3 to go. I didn't try the gyro but heard it was good. The Greek platter was amazing, however. Like I don't know what they but in the rice, but it was addicting as heck. It had hints of garlic and some sort of oil or butter, but wasn't soo oily. The gyro meat was super flavorful and was thinly cut, almost like deli ham, which I wouldn't think would be a good thing, but it was amazing. Because it was so thin, the ratio of the crispy exterior to the meat favored the crispy meat part and each strip was the perfect amount of meat to accompany a spoonful of rice. The spanakopita was also delicious, perfectly crispy and flavorful. The chicken kabobs were fine if not a little dry, nothing to write home about, but the gyro meat and rice easily made up the kabob's short comings. The baklava was also delicious, not overly syrupy, sweet, nor soggy like a lot of the other baklava I've had. You could really get a feel of the phyllo dough and the ingredients. Why this place isn't 5 stars is first off, the value is so beyond off it's a little crazy, and the one staff worker I interacted was VERY off putting. First off, the cost of the Greek platter was about $22. Seeing "platter" and the price, we thought we would share this between two people. That was NOT the case. The portion was extremely small. I don't eat a lot and even I could have finished that plate easily. Even with the food being so good, $22 is steep and borderline not worth it. Lastly, the young lady working the counter when I went in was particularly off putting and based on the other reviews, this does not seem to be a one time thing. Looked annoyed that I had a pick up order and just overall a bad impression. I don't need staff to be always super happy, but I shouldn't feel like I'm bothering you by ordering from the restaurant. read more

I have passed by this place so many times and finally stopped by tonight. Awesome meal and great service. I got the Pita Gyro with a side. I chose the greens Salad for the side. It was all very delish! A lot of food. They have Gelato too which I indulged on the way out the door. It came with a cookie and a small bite size sample of the Baklava. I tumble for George's kitchen. Some coworkers and I came here for a lunch meeting, and we were not disappointed. The lunch portions are huge! A few of my coworkers ordered salads, and they were enormous. I ordered the pita with Gyro meat and pasta salad and it was lovely. Not to mention everything was at a great price. Also, we were given complementary baklava which was delightful. The restaurant is cozy with lots of natural light. The drink station was clean, as well as all the windows, the tables, and the floor. The staff was appropriately dressed and had good hygiene and all were friendly and hard-working. The parking lot was busy but not difficult to navigate, and it was in good condition.
