The main problem with this establishment is the little, caucasion cat lady that wears heavy metal tshirts that provides "customer service." At first, I thought her rude comments was her trying to be funny, but after she repeatedly said rude and offensive things I realized that wasn't the case. When I went to pick up my vehicle, she made the comment, " I thought you weren't going to show up." My reservation time was for 10am and I arrived at about 1030am! She also felt the need to correct me on my estimated mileage use that I put in when making reservation. Not like it mattered... I would pay when I returned it anyway. She also made the comment that she wanted her van returned because she saw I was from Waianae. When I returned the vehicle, she once again made the comment, "oh I thought you weren't going to show up." This time I was 5 minutes earlier than my return time. Not only that, but their website says the open at 10am! Why would I show up earlier than the time they open? I was there at 955am. She also made the comment, "oh its really dirty." When looking inside the vehicle. It WAS NOT DIRTY. it had NORMAL bits of pieces from moving... like bits of cardboard etc. She then asked me, "well, are you going to clean it"? I told her I didn't have a broom. And then I just told her I'd pay the 20 bucks. RIDICULOUS. Every company I have rented from has a "normal" and acceptable amount of "dirty" before charging from NORMAL MOVING USE. it was by far nowhere near unacceptable. And even if it was unacceptable, her attitude and comments are unprofessional and unnecessary. She should have just said... okay. I'll have to charge you for sweeping these bits out. They need to hire someone who knows how to talk to actual real human people and not cats!

Fast forward next day we return the truck and an hour later get a $165 bill when it really should have been around $90 but they charged us for them putting gas even though we filled it up to just about 1/4 tank right before we returned it!!!! Then when we came back to ask about this bill the lady that was working on the desk in the left hand corner was giving us straight attitude!! Even raising her voice like she somebody!! My husband was already heated b/c of her attitude especially after she said she can't do nothing about the gas fees, so I took it upon myself to call U-Haul directly and get this sorted out and gave them a mouthful of this lady who needs to be fired. AND not to mention the truck was a piece of trash dirty back, no ac, and had a very hard time getting up makakilo. So I went online and their prices were reasonable and they offer a kamaʻāina discount! I booked online and called them to confirm all the details. They really helped me out in my time of need. All of their employees as super nice, helpful, and friendly! They all seem really happy working for this company and that is a joy to see. Justin was the employee I spoke with and he was super nice. They are located in Mapunapuna near Fisher Hawai'i. Don't blink or you'll miss the turn into their driveway! There are lots of vehicles to rent, so if you're ever in need of a rental--- visit them! We had a mishap with the key fob not working while we were at the beach on the east side of the…read moreisland. When we realized it wasn't working, we immediately opened up the fob and found old looking corrosion inside around the battery area. We put a new battery in it and left it open to dry out (if moisture had gotten in it). After troubleshooting to no avail, I called the company and they sent someone out charging a $75 "roadside assistance fee" where a representative brought out a spare key fob. Unfortunately, the replacement fob did not start the car (or even unlock/lock the car). The representative was friendly, but not knowledgeable on other troubleshooting steps to get us back on the road. With the replacement fob taken apart (to swap/replace the battery) the original fob eventually started the car. We even tested it further by turning off and on the car a few times to make sure the old fob was working again. We then drove the vehicle to our next destination, and when we went to leave the car wouldn't start again... we made the most of it and had dinner while further drying out the original fob to see if that would help. In the meantime the company sent a replacement vehicle (at no additional charge). When the rep went to start the original car, it stated right away. The following day, I received a voicemail to go over the additional replacement fob and roadside assistance charges. The voicemail said to reference the email and/or call back for questions. I never received the email after 10 minutes of checking, and then I got a large credit card notification; $350 for the damaged key and $75 for the roadside assistance. I didn't appreciate being charged without being talked to first. When I immediately called back to politely ask some clarifying questions, the person on the phone was very rude and raised his voice to me and my wife. Given that the original fob appeared to have prior water damage and the fact that it did start the car (after drying out, replacing the battery) it was disappointing to be charged $425 for something that may, or may not, have been our fault. And to then be yelled at for asking questions. At the end of the day, the whole ordeal cost us valuable vacation time, added stress, and drastically altered our plans. The car rental itself was affordable but the first car we ended up with was older and a little dingy.

First off, I had a gut feeling when we first got on to take pictures of the broken seatbelt hook which cut my sons leg (I have a picture) was going to let it slide & the ceiling fans didn't have the covers to guide the air and the seats were stained but never thought that they would actually attempt to pin it on us. He has now attempted to charge us and is extremely rude, definitely not okay that he is trying to take advantage. We wish we would've looked at the reviews sooner because it seems that we all have a similar story. Wouldn't doubt the good reviews being fake. Horrible experience.
