Extra space storage is conviently located by target salt lake and a couple minutes off the stadium exit. I have had a pleasant experience renting a 10x12 unit from this location. The facility was easy to access and has a secure gate entering and exiting the building. Rates are fair and I was always able to get in and out if I ever had any questions for the staff they were always able to help me out. read more

Or storage space was broken into during tsunami warning. Lower floors and lift were being renovated. Extra speakers added instead of cameras. Go figure. I paid for sufficient insurance, and even though police report had been filed and thieves caught on camera, Extra Space has been given to us the runaround regarding stolen items which included thousands worth of tools. Yes, it's the cheaper of storage places around the area, and there is a reason why. . Other units have been broken into as well. Lady in charge seemed nonchalant about the theft as well. read more

My rating still stands as a negative star because a customer should have never gone through an experience like this. Also, I paid for 2 storage spaces this month because of it. Not to mention how inconvenient it was to put things in a storage and then find the time and help to uproot and move to another storage less than a week later!! I was previously a customer of Public Storage, but I had to change to Extra Space due to some unresolved conflicts. And honestly this was one of the best decisions I made! I've been with ES for approximately 7 months and these were the best 7 months with a storage unit company I've had. Every time I visit, I've had the pleasure of dealing with the site manager Jena. She's a true professional and she always thoroughly explained her answers for whatever questions/issues I had. She's so great at her job that I wouldn't want to work with anyone else. read more

Extra Space Storage usually has great employees and customer service. We've been to a lot of storage units around the island for our business and tend to rent 3-4 at a time occasionally. Today was not a normal day at this extra space storage. We were met by Stephen (long hair skinny guy) who was sitting in the dark in the corner by the wall. He must've been having a bad day to begin with. This guy has a bad attitude working with customers. We told him we wanted to close out our storage because we have chosen not to have it anymore. He tells us we need to have everything out and to get the lock. We say fine we will go get the lock but everything is out. I then told him that the girl we spoke to before just wanted us to bring the keys in. He said no you bought the lock so that's your lock. I said no, that was not what were told. He was adamant that he was correct. So we went to get the lock. We then said we don't remember our gate code how can we get there. He then says "I don't know but there's a door here that I guess you could use?" Okay, so we go get our barrel lock. I walk back to double check that its okay that we take the barrel lock even though we were told to bring back just the keys. He then goes on a rant on how we bought it so yes we keep it. Talking very condescending to someone who paid $660 per month for a single storage unit. We tell him we don't think we paid for the lock and we don't want to have to drive back here. He says fine give me the lock. Which I said how do you know we didn't pay for it. Then he makes up a story that he sees the receipt that we didn't pay for it. Which makes no sense because he was so adamant that we did pay for it. Geez! We leave, get in our car and think to ourselves we need to write a review about this situation since we have never experienced this bad customer service from an extra space location. I go back in to ask his name and how to write a review. He tells me he doesn't know how to write a review. Which is a lie I tell him because extra space employees are very keen on making sure we write them reviews (when they're good). I then ask for his name which he says Stephen and I ask for his last name which he says he can't give. I say that's fine what's the first letter so we know who exactly you are. He says he's the only Stephen in the whole company they will know who he is. Honestly, when we rented the space Connie was very nice. Stephen on the other hand should not be working there he's making all the good there look bad. read more

I reserved a unit online and then stopped by to check it out. The facility was clean and the staff were very helpful.

We have stored our items here since 2019. In the past two years, our rate has nearly tripled, which we assured it would not when selecting this facility. We pay for a temperature controlled environment. They had issues with their a/c unit and the facility got hot. With Hawaii's humidity, some of our items molded. We filed a claim and they said they do not cover mold. Do not go with this facility. You may very well end up regretting it like we have. We are done with this place. read more

Unfortunately had to deal with this place longer than wanted because of being off island with no option to move everything elsewhere. Building manager is okay he's had his moments. Have had issues multiple times with the climate control so beware of that. Caused our couches to grow mold out of all things. (We weren't even there for a year) While we were off island they increased the price without notice with their reasoning being basically just because they can. Again being away there was unfortunately nothing I could do. Also had 2 boxes full of issues from previous pests that have clearly been there so we had to pitch those. (And no we did absolutely not have food! These were literally in boxes of clothes and postcards!) Not happy. And we had to just pitch everything. Thankfully we had the insurance so things should be replaced. DONT want to deal with the company any more just the insurance company but wanted to warn others. Only reason I gave the second star is because someone from a completely different store helped us today and was very nice. Glad to be gone. Update: Our movers left our things in their lift thankfully the BM was nice about it. read more

Went all over town for a space and this lady Jennifer was not only a good sales person she also had such good customer service she has the best attitude unlike the other places I went to. More places should hire a person like her, sweet, nice, and not lazy. read more

I decided to move my stuff from an overpriced unit in town to a different company. I stopped in ESS by Target in Salt Lake to find out more about their first month free ad. Jennifer in the office was friendly & helpful. We discussed unit sizes & prices. She helped me to secure a unit that wasn't even available yet! Two days later, I was ready to move in. She made the process quick & easy. I was made to feel like a preferred customer (but she's probably that nice to everybody). The facilities were clean & secure. I'm saving over $100 a month from the last place! I was very happy with my choice. read more

It's 9:38 and the restroom is still locked because there is nobody in the office even though office hours start at 9:30. It's now 9:58, still no restroom because the office is still empty. Not a good place to do business if you're on diuretics. Luckily I've learned to stop and use the restroom before going to my unit as this has happened EVERY SINGLE TIME I've been here at 9:30-10:00a! I just doubled back for another load 10:52A unmanned office = restroom access. Thank God their rude/condescending manager motivated me to clear out my storage. I'd rather donate and give stuff away rather than deal with her and this company. read more

I just noticed my next months payment is increased $21.98. I haven't received an email or call regarding that increase. I called the office and I was informed that my increase is due to its equitable value so the price is increasing while a new customer can come in and rent the same space at $99 with a free month. WHY? LEGAL? POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE? Covid has rental cars increase a $89/day car rental to $525/day, restaurants are adding a Covid fee to your bill without asking or informing customer, and now Extra storage that has not changed anything about its storage units as well as broken down facilities want to increase its rate according to its equitable use?
