Located on Nimitz Highway. There is only one way in and one way out. A little tricky to find the entrance unless you've been there before or are driving slowly. So yes i recommend you drive slowly and turn right into the driveway when you see the building. Yes this place is on the older side however you do have great benefits. The benefits of a nice and friendly staff. The use of a pallet jack and half hour of a forklift (best to call to make sure someone will be there to drive the forklift) They just repaved so they don't want people to drop their dumpsters on the ground to prevent the the newly paved place from getting messed up. Like I said earlier, this is a older facility so there is no 24 hour access. No air-conditioning but if you don't need that then this place has good rates and like I said the people are nice and the security is great. They go around and check people's storages to make sure they are locked. read more

The office personnel are very efficient and accommodating . Their pau hana office hours (5pm) coincide with my office hours so I love the extra hours ( till 6:45) where I can do my business after work. People have a habit of dumping their belongings when they clear out their lockers, so I can understand they not having that extra expense of a dumpster/ or trash can. I've been using them for over 15 years ( I think) and can understand why they do what they do...ever since they got rid of the dumpster/ trash cans, things has been VERY tidy. I don't need any stuff that needs refrigeration, so that place suits me fine Hy-pac has always been my go to place...it's inexpensive, clean, secure, near freeways, and folks always allow me to enter the street when exiting the premise (when the light turns red) I've often said "I wish it was my company/business-folks always needs a place to store their stuff and this place is the best!" read more

I usually recommend this because of the cheap rates but recently, I've come under the conclusion how inconvenient everything else becomes because they have low rates. I'm not sure if they have the lowest rates in the state or on Oahu but I believe that's what they claim to be (I could be wrong, but I swear I've seen it on their moving van). Things to consider: - It's on Nimitz Hwy, so there's really only one way to enter and one way to exit, I'd say if you have bad anxiety when driving especially in trafficked areas, I wouldn't recommend. I haven't gotten into an accident here *knocks on wood* but I wouldn't be surprised if one does. People drive recklessly because it's an easy miss (turn) coming into the area and exiting. - There is no AC (air Conditioning. - There is NO Trash/dumpster on site. - Office hours do NOT coincide with hours of operation, I recently discovered it changed hours. The office now closes at 5PM and the facility itself closes at 7PM. - The hand-trucks/dollies are not easily accessible. You will have to go to the office, trade your ID for a token (which you really can't lose). Depending on th rebuilding your unit is in I believe they give you the token for that. Which Is only weird to me because the hand truck is a lot harder (IMO) to handle over the hand cart/dollies. I believe I've had this storage place for over a year or two. A lot has changed in that time, surprisingly. I recently discovered they've changed their office hours, which I find odd, since, there are so many restrictions and you'd need an office personnel to do certain things, like move out, borrow a hand truck/dolly, and etc. I knew I needed to cut my lock because I left my keys in another state and I didn't realize it would cost me money, I don't recall it costing money before but it was $5 to cut my own lock. They sell locks that you can purchase form them as well as boxes and ropes and tape (I'd recommend purchasing at Walmart because all those items are cheaper). I've bought the lock from them before it's a key one and it is $12. I think that particular brand goes for about the same amount at Walmart but like I said, the prices of the things they sell are more UP there and really I believe the uncharge is because of the convenience. I'm really still shocked I had to pay $5 to cut my lock, because really, I don't get what the $5 charge is for but whatever. I just think it's ridiculous because all they're doing is cutting a lock, that you own. Though, I don't think they'd allow you to cut your own lock if you have your own bolt cutters (go figure) cause I could have disposed my old lock myself but I guess they do it to make sure you don't hurt yourself? I'm not sure. Anyways, I closed out my unit which was an 8x10 I believe, and I didn't realize that $60 for that unit was actually $67 and I believe the prices are going to go up to $75 soon. Thankfully, I moved all my crap out but what shocked me was that I had to PAY TO MOVE OUT (lol). I've never heard of that before but I did manage to move everything out on my birthday 12/14 and for that I had to pay $34. Which sucks but glad I won't have to pay that $60. Overall, this storage place isn't so bad, I guess. I will say that an upside to having Air Con in a storage place is that it usually kills off the bugs that would normally fester and multiply in hot/warmer places. Having moth balls or roach traps would definitely help in your storage unit. read more

Been a customer for about a year I have 2 units here a 8x10 and a 10x10 since day 1 I've been treated like a criminal and where other people got smiles and tbankyous I got questioned and most told no I don't even try to pay any more my gf because of how much problems it causes its even more ridiculous when I struggle to load stuff in my car workers will.jist watch and.walk by I hurt my back at work a few years ago and struggle to lift heavy objects I'm not try a throw myself a pitty party but what ever happened to helping out your fellow man read more

We had to help our family downsize and move to their new home and we called many places around the island, most were nonresponsive or simply couldn't accommodate us in a timely manner. We have a limited time to pack and store and make our move, so it was so nice to have the great people at Hy-Pac Self Storage accommodate are needs so fast. What was even more incredible, is that we rented our storage unit they offered to dome to my family's residence and picked up the boxes and furniture and stored it for us! If you need basic storage, this is a good place for it. Nothing too fancy, and I haven't seen any a/c units here but the office is helpful and I love the keyless code entry.. And security is present :) I recommend this place. It also seems like they are always running a deal so just make sure to look it up first or just ask! read more

My husband decided that he needed a hobby. The hobby he chose was not golf or even surfing... it ended up being selling stuff online. So since most of his merchandise was huge things, we needed a storage unit. We were swimming in all his stuff. He did the research and we chose to have our stuff stored here. He chose it for a multitude of reasons - more inexpensive than the rest, close to our house, and safe. Well, I don't really agree too much with the last one but there is a security guard that checks everyone in so I guess it's okay. It definitely was cheaper than other ones he researched. I didn't realize how expensive they are (since all you hear about are the introductory offers never the going rate). This place is never too busy and there's always parking. However, the units have no AC nor are they open 24 hours a day. In fact, on Sundays, they close at 4, which I find to be really early. I wish it was open until at least 9 but I guess for the price, it's not bad. It definitely isn't super nice like Hawaii Self Storage (I have seen those and those seem to be really nice and have AC). Also, the hours are a lot longer but the cost is a lot higher as well. I definitely recommend it here if you don't have perishables or something that requires AC or better conditions to survive. We keep our suitcases and Christmas decorations here and it's fine. I am sure they have specials but since my husband is taking care of the unit, I am not sure what they are. read more

The staff at HyPac are hard workers and good people. So let's get that out of the way first. The owner of HyPac must be a freaking idiot. Foolish rules make him seem low IQ and give his business a bad rap. Bugs everywhere: cockroaches, wood borers (watch out for these little guys because they will destroy anything that's made of wood in your storage unit), rats etc., etc. Dust by the bucket load And then you get hit with surprise fee increases that sometimes will double or more your fees. Silly rules, surprise fee increases, bugs, rats and, oh, did I mention the egress roulette when trying to leave Hypac . . . you take your life in your hands, VERY dangerous trying to get on Nimitz Highway. Yep, it's cheaper than most . . . but what price cheap. read more

I used these guys for a year and never once had a problem with them. The space you received for the price seemed relatively adequate. There is always security on the premises. They ask for your storage # when you enter (and write down your license plate) They seem very thorough about who enters and leaves the property, which makes it practically impossible for any kind of theft. And if there is I'm sure they'd know who it was. Didn't see any cameras inside the storage area, but outside there was a couple. Definitely recommend! read more

If you wonder why the prices are cheap, it's because they are not prone to flooding. The Darby storm didn't help either and every unit on the ground floor was flooded by 2 to 4 ft. of sludge that came from run-off of street grime, sewage, and airport harbor water. Since it is directly located between Dillingham and Nimitz, it took in the Kalihi stream and more! Mud everywhere and worst! They do not have insurance for your items and only have a 3rd party insurance company that is provided. They only have insurance to cover their own storage unit buildings. If you want a storage unit that is safe, I would suggest getting it elsewhere and pay the difference, unless you want foul smelling damaged items that you worked hard for and have to trash it after. read more

It's great that it's cheap and the people who work there are very nice. But hypac sure has its setbacks. There are a ton of bugs in the units, which is to be expected because it isn't enclosed. But that also means dust gets in, by the butt load. It's also VERY susceptible to flooding. Lost the entire contents of our giant roll up unit due to massive flooding. Just know the great pricing costs you in other areas. read more

Loraly b..is correct..the staff there just don't know how to count...they will milk you for every penny...they r money hungry...if you suppose to get out at a date, you better get out one or two days before or they will charge you one or two days when time to get out.
