i've had a locker at South Street for over 10 years ever since Store quest took over the service has been pretty bad. There's no street parking at this location and it seems like the employees are parking in the bays which one is always closed so there's only four parking stalls available to load and unload the new person in the is not very helpful and sometimes pretty rude and if you pull up she's smoking, but will not open the bay for anyone to park but yet you can't park in front of the closed bay and they've changed the hours of operation i'm pretty disappointed especially year they increase the rent 20% there's no incentive to stay long-term read more

Went in to give notice to cancel my Mom's storage unit and provide the death certificate as she had recently passed away and Likeke made the process so easy and was empathetic to my Mom passing. Why I recommend Storquest is their military-friendly policy, customer parking, and they accept packages which has been useful option for me to receive packages securely even heavy and oversized. My Storquest experience has been with two locations (Kakaako and Kalihi sites) Hours Both of which vary according to the type of storage and access hours are store hours, open 7 days at Kalihi and 6 days at Kakaako being half day Saturday. Locks -- Kalihi site requires you to purchase their unique storage locks which cannot be used at other sites -- Kakaaka site has storage units with rings you can provide your own affordable locks and any lock that can fit their rings large or small . Units -- Kalihi offers AC or non-AC units but elevator was out of service at the time so difficulty to have an upstairs unit . It makes a difference if you have a bottom or top unit even at first floor since top units have only a cage wire covering whatever floats in the air can accumulate onto your items. While bottom units are subject to whatever the above storage unit may have leaking or spilling into the bottom unit such as cat food that spilled through corners into bottom unit. -- Kakaako only offers non-AC units and has working elevator. ** I prefer Kakaako because I live nearby and I found an awesome sale for $36/mo 2x8 door standard and 8 ft long at ground level. Because it was previously two units that had become one, access was a front and back door (double door) I found really useful. Communication with staff -- It varies. -- Kalihi staff has always reached out to me, left me messages when packages arrive. -- Kakaako is not the same, when packages arrive I had to reach out and inquire , not knowing when it would arrive calling every day sometimes waiting on the line to find out nothing arrived yet. It would be nice if they could let me know when they receive a package so i dont have to call every day. Accomodation Both sites accomodate with plenty of ladders and carts. More so than other storage companies. Transferring between units within one site for changing sizes is with ease too. Starting or Closing account -- Offers renter insurance or provide your own and they refund their charge if you have your own. -- First come first serve and can reserve if you happen to find a good find. -- No refunds Unlike other storage companies, they do not refund any credit left on account when closing out so plan accordingly. read more

I'm writing this review on behalf of my parents that have had a storage locker here since 1999. We just closed out the locker at the beginning of this month after spending many, many weeks sorting through keeping things that are important and getting lots of tax credits for this year by donating endless amounts of stuff to Goodwill. StorQuest is not a bad deal, my parents had a 5'x5'x5' storage locker at the front of the facility so you could easily pull your car up into the loading zone and transport things to the locker. The only bummer about our locker was that you have to use a super scary ladder to access it. Back in the day my parents were only paying $35 per month, the last rate they paid was $75 which includes insurance protection for your stuff (purchasing insurance is mandatory). So not a bad price increase of $40 over the span of 15 years. I believe our locker is cheaper because we are not in the "temperature controlled" area of the facility which is the entire left side of the building. The facility is clean/well maintained and they just repainted everything two weeks ago. We were looking at downsizing to a 4'x4'x4', it was $40 (including insurance) but we were inspired by Marie Kondo's book "The Japanese Art of Tidying" and decided to just weed through our things. Apparently vacancy here of lockers is rare but this month they have four 4'x4'x4' lockers available if you're searching. The ladies that work here are pretty good, with the exception of one processing issue that we experienced during closing our account that was resolved quickly. For the most part they were all very responsive to requests to see different locker sizes and giving us new gate codes because we forgot them. The location is a little seedy, it's down Umi street past the abandoned building and gas station, behind the large Nissan dealership in Kalihi. I absolutely hate coming here during the work week, because there is NO street parking. The facility doesn't have a parking lot and a lot of people end up parking on the sidewalk. I have never seen anyone towed or ticketed for that so you could risk it. The weekends are so much better to find parking. The best part about this place is that Samurai Ice cream has their shop next door, so you can treat yourself to something cool and sugary after lifting all those boxes! read more

No one answers the phone at this company. I just want to pay for my grandmas storage unit. Iv'e called about 8 times already. No answer. The last 4 times someone just hung up the phone without saying a word. I've called 3 different numbers from their website too. So unprofessional! read more

I am actually grading this review based on the customer service that I received from Jace. This is the first time that I had to get a storage unit and I was really questionable about the whole idea. I work next door to the Umi Street location and it was Super Bowl Sunday so the traffic there was minimum. I went into the office and was greeted by Jace. I told him my situation and concerns. He was very professional, knowledgeable and very easy to interact with. I did rent a unit that day and I appreciate the way I was treated by Jace, the experience was very pleasant. StorQuest WORST experience ever!!! I've been meaning to write this review a long time ago, but had the hardest time trying to get over what had happen. My father rented a storage unit from StorQuest on Umi Street and had mention to me that he had a unit there. On the day my father passed away, I contacted StorQuest and spoke with worker Kalani about the situation. He told me I would have to get obtain my fathers death certificate and legal documents before they could grant me access to the unit. The waiting period was very agonizing because I wanted to see what my father had left behind. The coroner office still had to do an autopsy before I can file a death certificate so the paper work takes long. In the mean time I'm keeping in contact with StorQuest office staff every week about updates. I called so much we were referring to each other by first name basis. The day I was waiting for.. I got all my documents and went straight to StorQuest. Estactic I called Kalani and said, "I'm Coming". When I arrive Kalani tells me, our manager Alyson is on her way here she wants to talk to me. I waited 15 minutes and said, "Why is it taking so long, why am I waiting? I have the documents why am I waiting for Alyson?" Kalani then tells me, Alyson can't make it, she wanted to tell you that "YOUR FATHER UNIT WAS SOLD IN AUCTION BY MISTAKE". I said "What?!". I started crying. . The workers got the storage unit numbers mixed up and had sold my father unit. According to StorQuest they noticed the mix up 2 days after being sold and contacted the buyer to return the items. When StorQuest opened the unit they took a picture before releasing the items. When the buyer returned the items StorQuest matched the picture, but as I looked closely I told them there were obvious things missing. They tried to cover their A$$ by saying the picture matches and the buyer brought back the items. There were 3 employees that had to witness the cutting of lock before entering the storage unit; maintenance, manager Alyson and an office employee. All 3 employees did not double check on the unit# before cutting the lock. My father worked at Aloha Airlines for 30 years but the company closed because of bankruptcy. He loved his job that he kept all his uniforms and memorabilia. Family heirloom, his briefcase and laptop were the obvious things shown in the picture that were missing. I reached out to their Regional manager Alison Vasconcellos, who had NO sympathy. I had to explained to her that this location falls under her supervision how can something happen and what is she going to do about it. Alison did not apologize at all about their wrong doing. I very upset and felt like no one had any remorse for their wrong doing that I took it to their cooperate office. It was like a needle in a hay stack. Endless days turned into weeks. StorQuest is part of a chain under the The William Warren Group Inc. located in California. I got a hold of their Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Sugarman who I was able to work with. I filed a police report and took StorQuest to court. It's very heart breaking that I wasn't able to retrieve all his belongings. Because his uniforms was some of the items missing. A friend of my father donated his uniform so I could have my father cremated wearing it which was very sentimental. StorQuest inefficiency and lack of communication on all of their staff should get FIRED!!!. I'm tired of always being nice. Karma is a b!tch when it hits! read more

Went in yesterday to do a transfer to a bigger unit and was told by a not so professional woman sitting behind the desk that didn't even look like she wanted to be there ... first off what happen to the warm friendly service I keep reading reviews about ... she then proceeded to tell us unless we wanted to do the paperwork we would have to do the transfer now ... like I really want to be there any longer with her ... then when we asked about the code she acted like we we're retarded and it was a major problem for her to set the code for us ... omg don't like your job go somewhere else I'm sure someone who don't have one would appreciate having it... This is my first post and the only reason why I doing um is because they worth it. This is the place to go if you need storage. The neighborhood is sketchy and hardly get parking but the price is good. I had one unit there for long time and I finally moved into my new place. They helped me when I moved in with one free truck pick up and I checked they was the cheapest in the area. It's not the newest or nicest looking place but my stuff was safe no complaints about that. I gave them 5 stars because of the staff the manager Leilani was so helpful she showed me like 5 spaces before I picked the one I liked which was the first one she showed me I felt so bad but she said no worries with one big smile on her face. Even the cleaning guy Greg helped me out with some heavy boxes. Every time I went there they was so nice I give them one A+. Now that I get one account I going yelp everybody. Staff was friendly and helpful when I set up my account, but every interaction since has been difficult. I called asking about why they increased my rental rate by 15% and they rudely said "You should've been emailed something." When I checked my email with the lady on the line to inform her no such email was sent she said "We can raise rates at any time because we DON'T want to be the cheapest." Seems like they do all they can to get your business and once you sign up they will increase the rate and provide you with no service knowing it will be difficult for you to move. read more

I do not know about you, but I never wake up in the middle of the night with the desire to access the stuff I put in storage. I called around 4 or 7 different storage places in Oahu, and StorQuest is typically 1/2 as much. There are no "administration fees" and even tax is included. If you are a student like me who wants to store your treasures in the safest and cheapest place possible, I highly recommend StorQuest. read more

Storquest had us move from the Kawaiahao St site to Umi St. (Renovations) and everything went really great. Got a comparable size unit for less $, it's cleaner, and has easier access.
