Do not rent from Public Storage. I have rented here for many years when it was Dillingham Self Storage and was treated very fairly. There used to be three ladies who were always onsite, very helpful if there was a issue. I miss them! Since Public Storage took over, the quality of the service went into the gutter. Overnight there was nobody at the front desk for 3-4 months, save for a transition person for the first few weeks. If there was a issue, and there was with riffraff getting into the gate, there was nobody to help get rid of them. They began to raise the temperature as well, now you can walk in there and its just as warm as outside at times.
And then came the rent increases. My first rent increase was almost $200! I complained and got a temp reprieve, but only for 6 months. I was already paying almost $600. And then the second increase came to $900!!!!!! For what?? Everytime I called Public Storage to complain about the ridiculous pricing and horrible service I was told "we are charging market value" by someone reading a script. So I called Hawaii Self Storage- they will give me the same unit size for less than half the price and thats even after the introductory rate runs out. They will even give me a year long lease, something that Public Storage will not do so they can constantly raise the rent. All of my long term neighbors have moved out.
Absolutely scummy tactics from PS. Do not rent from them, you will get ripped off. read more
