Good breakfast, quick friendly service! Tried getting into another breakfast place in chepatchet and was left. Waiting for 20 minutes with no service, so we were very happy to come here and turn the day around!

Gentleman Farmer is a place I've been coming from what I was in high school At Ponaganset back in the 90s. This isn't a 5-star establishment, maybe 4, but because of the nostalgia. As a senior at Ponaganset, my brother, best friend and I would come here after school every day. Today I live in Providence and not Glocester so I don't get here as much. Usually on a Saturday or Sunday morning for breakfast and they're still doing it right. Don't come expecting anything fancy at all, it's a diner. The home fries (which I use as a benchmark for any diner) are fantastic! They have great breakfast meals, and they have interesting specials from time to time. The staff has always been friendly, the prices are cheap and you will leave full.

Good food, friendly service, and the small town feel you'd expect from the name! If you're visiting Chepachet (great for antiquing) you'll definitely want to fuel up at this little diner on your way into the village, where there is not much else in the way of sit-down family dining. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating to our kiddo, service was on the slower side, but the food was worth the wait and we were not in a rush so we were satisfied. The yankee pot roast is something worth craving, and I'd order it again at every opportunity. Can't wait to return!

A great diner / family restaurant in northern Rhode Island. Definitely worth doing by on your way from Boston to NYC or if you happen to be in the area. The clan strips were battered and fried perfectly, light and crispy. Pot roast was fall apart tender. The fried chicken we do crunchy on the outside and most and juicy on the inside. You can tell everything was prepared fresh and the service was very friendly.

You have to love this place. It has an old-time feel to it, but what exactly it is, is hard to explain. Its a bar. its a diner, its a Keno parlor, its a pizza and grinder shop, its all of the above. Its deceptively large inside with 20 or so booths. The big diner-like menu has it all - sandwiches, breakfast foods, pizza, grinders, and daily specials. I ordered an Italian grinder and a soft drink and it was less than $8 for a very nice sized sandwich that didn't skimp on the meat.. There's not many food choices on this lonely stretch of road, but now I know that the Gentleman Farmer is a very dependable stop to refuel.

Baked Stuffed Haddock w/mash and coleslaw

Great spot while we we're Antiquing in Rhode Island. Haddock was a little over done but the flavors were great and the inside was still soft and juicy melt in your mouth. The coleslaw was one of the best I have had and the mashed potatoes were just perfect for the comfort food craving I was looking for!! The waiter was delightful. Perfect Little New England town diner! Will stop again when back in the area. They also had options on the menu for kids. Social distancing guidelines in place for covid-19.

I went to Assados when they first opened and honestly, wasn't too impressed. I since moved closer…read moreto the restaurant and drive by it often. My boyfriend always would comment that he wanted to go there. His birthday came up and we decided to go and bring both sets of parents. We had a GREAT meal. It has improved. I previously thought it was pretty flavorless food that I could technically make at home (example: Steak tips, rice pilaf, and a veggie), but now I feel like it stepped up its game. We started with Portuguese style calamari and shrimp and goat cheese. I ordered a seafood and rice dish off of the seafood portion of the menu. I can't find the exact dish online on their menu. It was absolutely delicious. The service was great. The ambiance was great. We can't wait to go back for the next birthday celebration!

We were not disappointed with the food. We had stuffies as an app: very good with Portuguese sausage. I had the fish tacos which were excellent with big pieces of fish and plenty of fries. Awesome mango corn salsa. My love had a chicken and pasta entree called Princess chicken and he loved it. Again large portion and well plated. Food is definitely the stand out here. Service was unenthusiastic and not good about refilling water or checking in on us. I would have ordered a second glass of wine if anyone bothered to ask but it was difficult just getting our water refilled. At one point I busted out my water bottle from our hike earlier in the day and drank it instead because no one was around to provide water. Would recommend based on food and atmosphere but they could do with some improvement in service.

We came here on a Saturday evening and this ended up being some of the best seafood I've had in…read moreyears. The quality of the ingredients here is truly incredible - everything was so fresh and perfectly seasoned - we will definitely be back. We ordered: Grilled Salmon ($17) - This came with two sides and I chose the butternut squash and vegetable which ended up being broccoli. First, I am not a huge fan of squash but this squash was to die for. It was mashed up and so buttery and well seasoned. Wow. I'd come back just for the squash if I'm being honest. It was perfectly sweet and rich - a really great side to any dish. The broccoli was a steamed head of broccoli that was fine and added some nice green to our dinner, but that squash was special. And if we're talking about special, the salmon was grilled perfectly, seasoned perfectly, and came with this delicious creamy dill sauce and a slice of lemon that brought everything together wonderfully. It was perfectly cooked and juicy with great flavor - I will definitely be ordering this again. Seafood Casserole ($21) - We got this with mashed potatoes and cole slaw and the potatoes were also really tasty and well seasoned. The cole slaw didn't have too much mayo which was nice, but it wasn't too special other than that. The casserole itself had some HUGE scallops, shrimp, and haddock that was all very nicely breaded and buttery. The scallops were literally the best scallops I've had in over five years. They were massive, sweet, and perfectly cooked so they were tender and juicy inside. The shrimp was also above-average - nice and plump with a good sweetness as well, and the fish was decent, but not the star of the show. Steamed Mussels ($17) - This was served over linguini with a garlic, white wine, and tomato sauce. There were a good amount of fresh mussels in this, and the sauce had a nice balance of sour, sweet, and savory. This wasn't my favorite, but it was still very solid. Both this and the other pasta dish also came with two pieces of garlic bread which was served as a roll cut like a hasselback potato with butter, garlic, and herbs stuffed in each mini-slice. It was buttery and salty and even crispy - really delicious! Seafood Fra Diavolo ($23) - Similar to the seafood casserole, this had AMAZING scallops and shrimp in it. It also surprisingly had small chunks of lobster, and the fish was yummy as well. The sauce was sweet and tomato-ey, and we kept coming back to this linguine dish over and over - it was so fresh and balanced! Overall, EVERYTHING WAS SO FRESH. All of the seafood was sweet, fresh, and just really clean tasting. We will absolutely be coming back here again and again, and the price was also really reasonable. On top of that, they have a little shop where you can buy fresh raw seafood as well as prepared seafood soups, baked dishes, salads, desserts, and other treats and goodies. This is such a wonderful find we're so happy to have discovered it!
