What a great place to visit and have breakfast! You can't miss it!! There are lots of '50's/ and '60's statues and items from the past on their front porch!! Wait til you go in though! It's a very intimate place, kind of like going to your friends for breakfast or lunch. Fair warning, close quarters, make friends!! This place is full of memorabilia of days gone by. Lots to look as you order and wait for your meal. The fare is pretty standard, with just the right amount to fill you. Check it out, it's fun!

Not much else to say about this awesome breakfast only place. If you have to wait, it's worth it. If you like 50's decor, you'll get a kick out of Rick n Dee's. Give this place a try, and you'll be back!!

Rick & Dee's has been around for a long time and with good reason. They have fantastic food. There is plenty of parking in the back although the inside is on the smaller side. Nostalgic diner is the theme and they do it well. Our food was delicious and the service was excellent. You can't go wrong coming here for breakfast or lunch.

Welcome to the fifties! Enjoy the casual diner atmosphere and memorabilia. The pumpkin muffin tasted just like homemade. The fluffy Cranberry Walnut pancake was filling and delicious, although they didn't have "real" maple syrup. (I didn't take off a star for that since Rhode Island is in Southern New England.) Eggs benny had the right proportion of eggs, Canadian bacon, and hollandaise sauce, and the English muffins were toasted well so they didn't get too soggy. Cheddar and mushroom omelet was cooked exactly the way I requested. The servers were friendly, made small talk, served the orders efficiently, and kept the coffee filled. Go early if you don't want to wait for a booth.

A great breakfast option!! Found on Knotty Oak Road nestled between Knotty Oak Baptist Church and Rice Memorial Field, this diner location is difficult to miss with its colorful façade and life-size Elvis, Betty Boop, and waitress figurines holding court outside. After parking in the small lot behind the business, my husband and I made our way up the ramp to enter its visually interesting interior. Seating is somewhat limited inside (at least during a busy weekend morning) but we visited closer to lunchtime and had no issue claiming two stools at the counter. Sitting here essentially placed us smack-dab in the middle of all the seating and afforded us a 360-degree view of all the 50s-themed signs, miniatures, train sets, cars, gas pumps, neon, coke products, sparkly-vinyl seating, etc! We both ordered the Hungry Man breakfast to sample a little bit of everything - eggs, bacon, sausages, ham, toast and homefries. The eggs were fluffy, bacon cooked to a delicious crisp, homefries flavorful, and toast well-buttered. This may be an odd observation but there's something to be said for a restaurant that butters the toast all the way to the edge instead of placing a small glob in the middle leaving more than half the toast dry. The diner clearly has some regulars that visit. It made for lively conversation throughout our stay. Customer service was great despite this. Sometimes its easy for staff to fall into easy conversations with the familiar faces around them and for newbies to feel a bit neglected but NOT HERE! Check ins were plentiful, drinks topped off... great service. Looking forward to dropping in again to continue to explore the menu.

When you drive by this place, you wonder what it is like inside and what you picture when you drive by is exactly what you will see inside. Small diner, family vibe and classic homemade breakfast, straight to the point. The regulars will clean your table, go behind the counter and pour coffee for you. It is great to see such a close knit group of people. The menu isn't large, but it's breakfast everyone in your family can find something to enjoy and be happy. If you are local and haven't been check it out, it will not disappoint. Hot coffee is also fantastic, when you crave a nice hot cup of coffee, this is the one, it will have you tingling down to your toes

Well I have to say definitely an old style diner. The decore has so many little things to look at. Fire trucks and trains. Any way the food was good but the wait was 25 minutes for breakfast. Maybe the 9 guys in the corner, obviously regulars were keeping the waitress preoccupied, might be the reason. Also we asked for coffee.....never got it. Not happy with the service what so ever. Besides that no complaints. Need to work on that. Probably won't go back...

Rick & Dee's is a Americana-strewn trailer of a diner. If you'd like a side of Elvis with your pancakes, this will do this trick. Breakfast offerings are standard and cheap. No complaints from any party members about our various configurations of eggs, toast, and homefries. It can feel a little bit claustrophobic due to the small space and abundant memorabilia, but the people are kind and it's a nice little mom and pop.

I have eaten breakfast here three times. The food and service each time has been fine. Why I can't rate them any higher is because the place is so dang cramped, both the restaurant and the parking lot. Although it looks very interesting from the outside, the overwhelming presence of the amount of model trains, cars and 1950s-themed memorabilia indoors makes it downright claustrophobic to me. Plus it's very noisy inside, given the tight quarters. The last time I attempted to visit was on a Saturday morning with my stepson. There were no open booths or seats at the counter, and two parties ahead of us. There was no way I was going to stand in the middle of a noisy, cramped, claustrophobic diner to wait for seats to open up, so we left. Like I said, the food and service is good, and everyone should check it out at least once to satisfy their curiosity piqued by the interesting front of the building display. As for me, I've had my fill of Rick & Dee's, and am moving on to discover other breakfast places. (P.S. - I'm not really claustrophobic; I just like a little elbow room while I eat.)

There is no 'handicapped parking' specifically for Gel's due to the way the parking lot is designed. There is a small vestibule between the outside and the inside where you will find a community food pantry. Take something if you need it, or leave something for your neighbors. This is such a lovely offering and very much in line with Gel's local community mind set. The doors into the vestibule are heavy glass and metal. Seat yourself in one of the booths. When they remodeled they added a small bar to the back area if you prefer counter seating. They offer a variety of mimosa flavors at breakfast and beer and wine at lunch. Although I suppose if you want a beer with your eggs, have at it. The front and side walls have large windows making the interior bright. They offer so many specials. Check out all the white boards on the back wall above the counter seating. These are in addition to their standard menu. Breakfast items include egg based meals (eggs & bacon & toast for ex.), pancakes, hash and lots of al la carte sides. Coffee is good and comes with free refills. The lunch menu includes sandwiches, salads, soups, wraps and they have a kids menu too. They also offer Kino if you like. They sell Gel's merch (holiday gifts?) and decorate for all the holidays.

They say it's because Gel changes the oil every week. Hash is homemade, A+, crepes, excellent. Huge order. Great prices. Also they support local community and have meals on the back of the menu in memory of local children with memorial funds. A portion of my dinner check goes their family fund. Everyone's always happy there. A true town staple.

With a friend's band on their entertainment schedule, I found the perfect opportunity to try it out. I was looking forward to both the music and the food and while the music was amazing, my overall experience didn't quite live up to expectations. Pro: - My friends and I were able to reserve a table ahead of time, which helped secure space to enjoy the show. We had an up close and personal view, and it definitely made for an immersive experience. Cons: - The space is way too small for live bands. The band was squeezed into a corner, and the closest table was practically on top of the lead singer. The small space in front of the band may have been meant for dancing, but it blocked the path to the bathrooms and food service. It felt cramped, loud, and uncomfortable. - The pub-height tables had tall chairs that were wobbly and unstable. I'm not a big person, but even I felt like I might tip over sitting there. Plus, the layout was so tight that we all had to get up every time someone wanted to wiggle their way to the bar or the bathroom. - Our waitress disappeared for long stretches of time, and service was painfully slow. We ended up having to go up to the bar for refills between courses because no one was around to help. - The food was disappointing. I ordered the house-made tavern chips (which look like potato chips on the website) but got plain tortilla chips instead. I also had two hot weiners, and while they had all the right toppings, the flavor was all wrong. The meat sauce tasted burnt, and they were completely overloaded with celery salt. It was honestly the worst I've ever had. Others at the table felt underwhelmed with their selections as well - the quesadilla was soggy and the appetizer sampler was just okay. - The bathroom locks were unreliable. The lock on the door failed halfway through my visit, and it took several attempts to get the button to work again, which made for a pretty awkward experience. Given this visit, I'm unlikely to return. If I do, it'd have to be for a great band, and I'll definitely eat somewhere else beforehand.
