Many in my group loved the endless lobster. The dessert bar was another good stop. My suggestion is that you get there early, when they open Friday evening. We didn't need a reservation and thank goodness, because the line grew shortly after we got in. Again, can't say it enough, go early, you'll be glad you did. I really wanted to give this place five stars, but i found the steak station to be a weak spot this trip. I haven't been in probably 8 years, but at its core this place has stayed steady. The people are amazing, I never lacked for anything the whole time I was there. I'm in awe of what it must take to stay on top of such a busy establishment as this. The ambiance is solid hunting lodge, with plenty of space for everyone to get where they need to go, and an impressive lobster tank. So much of the food is top notch, which is why I was sad that the filet mignon was grainy and flavorless. Years ago I recall having some of the best steak here, and that's been lost. I tried four of the side salads too (mussel, calamari, lobster, and seaweed), with the seaweed salad being the only good one. The ribs, the corn, lobster mac and cheese, these were all great. I starting going to The Nordic around 1985. I can recall seeing a buffet that was indescribable - salad bar, prime rib, scallops, shrimp, crab legs, clams, and ALL the lobsters you could eat! On my first visit I ate 6 lobsters. The price back then was about $28 each. I went again a couple years later ($32) and a few years later ($38). Last time I checked it was up to $110... but today it's $145 each. As much as I love lobsters, steak, and seafood, they have overpriced themselves. You can't eat your money's worth anymore. Came here right at opening time on a Saturday and was promptly seated. This is my second time here and it is still quite the experience. My advice? Get here early to avoid the inevitable rush that comes later on. The property is beautiful with hammocks, animals and a pond dotting the area. Great place to take a stroll after your meal! At $140 per person (for adults as of 7/2025) this is probably the most expensive buffet there is, but the food quality cannot be beaten! My favorites are the lobster (of course) as well as the prime rib which was cooked to perfection. They have a large assortment of other seafood items all of which were delicious. I highly recommend their clam chowder and lobster bisque (which be warned is extremely rich!). There is a ton of staff around and they're all extremely professional and friendly. Our plates were changed out quickly! My advice? If you like a more relaxed setting, I'd take a table at the front of the restaurant (where the windows are) as you'll avoid the inevitable rush of people if you sit in the main dining area (the benefits of which are quick access to the buffet). They also have a whole grill room with prime rib, rib eye, etc. The dessert area was also super impressive even though I was already so full. We went on a Saturday in May, arrived a little after 4pm and were seated without a wait. I wasn't sure what to expect since they don't take reservations for smaller parties on the weekend. Heard a lot of people around Connecticut talking about this place so I decided to make a day trip out to see what it was all about. I was impressed with the outside, very well kept plants and grass, nice seating areas for waiting. Inside the restaurant felt/looked dated. We were greeted and got to sit immediately, we got there around 1:15. It wasn't long before it got full and people were waiting, so if you don't want to wait I recommend getting there as early as possible. The staff were excellent. Everyone was super helpful and nice. I haven't had service like that in the North East, it was reminiscent of the kind of service I'm used to back home in Charleston, SC. The food...well it was hit or miss. For the price, I was kind of expecting something more impressive. The lobster was decent. Candidly I'm not the biggest lobster fan so maybe I'm not the best judge. The lobster Mac and cheese was actually a surprise hit. The crab legs were also great. Both in size and taste. I could have skipped the lobster all together and just don't the crab legs. The grill room was mostly empty doing my time there, and I can see why now that I've had a taste. The prime rib was bland and grey. I thought maybe I was crazy, since nothing else they served was bland or even cooked poorly, but this seemed to be their fault. I wish I had skipped it altogether and used my time and stomach space for something better. The variety is decent, mostly seafood with some salad and some more "traditional" options. I appreciate the focus on seafood as it seems to be what they are best at. I had taken my boyfriend for his birthday to The Nordic Lodge. The food at The Nordic was amazing. I was so excited "like Elmo". I didn't eat any carbs. I started with a full plate of raw oysters and my 2nd plate was a whole lobster and snow crablegs. My focus was the raw oysters and crablegs. I left nothing behind. All the food was fresh and delicious. We arrived 15 minutes before they were to open at 2 pm. All the staff was awesome and our waiter was Pete. He was very attentive to our needs. I also saw how he was with other patrons. When the patrons got up there was a Nordic team that would get the floor and tables cleaned. They have a great system for getting you seated quickly. The ambiance is so welcoming. The grounds are meticulous. They had more than enough seating around the fire pit. I was able to take pics of the horses. I think they stricked a pose for me. Came with my family-party of 5. Booked reservations for a Sunday to celebrate my daughters birthday. We absolutely loved it. The location, the grounds were absolutely wonderful and very serene. We were welcomed by the host, wait staff, & we had a wonderful & super attentive waitress. The setting, restaurant, and ambience is indeed as praiseworthy as all of the food bloggers on youtube have described. At first, one may snarl at the price per person. But what I do like about this, is it includes the drinks and tips. So there was no extra costs associated after the now $140 per person flat rate unless you buy alcohol. So was the price worth it? The Nordic is a family owned establishment located in Rhode Island. I went with a group on a bus trip and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The grounds are beautiful with lots of trees some animals on the side and water on all the side of the restaurant. Once you're done eating, you're free to check out the grounds. They also have a few fire pits to sit at and enjoy. The restaurant was relatively busy for early on a Saturday afternoon, but I quickly noticed how many people were smiling as they eat their food and just very happy to be there. The restaurant itself is on the older side, mostly wood tables and chairs. There's a big bar when you enter the restaurant and the design for going to get your food. Takes you through different parts of the restaurant to pick up what you would like to eat. The seating is relatively close together, which makes it a challenge to get out of your seat to go and get more food. However, it gives you all more reason to get what you want and bring it back to the table so you have it and you don't have to get up again. The server who is also named Cortney was friendly and very attentive to our group once everyone was seated from the bus, we got up to get our food. The seafood lines took a bit longer, but understandably that seafood is what's most popular. There are so many sides desserts, and other food items to choose from. It's good to go with a plan! We had two hours to eat and everything was delicious. It's easy to fill up. I would definitely go back again if in the area for another delicious meal. read more

I went here on the last day it was open for the season. It was crowded, but the quality was still great. This place is expensive and I recall paying 116 or 125 per person, but the amount of food you get and the unlimited crab and lobster does make it up. You would think that having unlimited crab legs and lobster would affect the quality of the seafood, but no, the seafood is fresh and packed with meat. You definitely have to set up a game plan coming here... start with seafood and meat. Other standouts included the clam chowder which was not stingy with the clam meat. This was my first time here, and in full transparency, I'm not a seafood lover, so it never really made sense for me to visit before today. Today we came as a small group to celebrate a few birthdays, an anniversary, and Mother's Day the staff was friendly and efficient with getting us checked in and seated. It was very convenient to pay at the door before making our way to the dining room and the cashier let us know we could pay individually, in pairs, or as one larger group - it was easy to split the check the way we wanted! Each member of our group made their way through the various stations and everyone had their own personal strategy on where to start. Since I don't eat most types seafood I started in the grill room, where I got a grilled fillet, teriyaki sirloin tips, and a slice of prime rib, all on one plate! I just couldn't decide. I then tried a coffee shake that was made with Hagen Das ice cream and half and half - making the shake thick and creamy. I finished my meal with having a plate of fresh fruit, which ranged from berries to dragon fruit. The rest of my group piled their plates high with crab legs and lobsters and everyone enjoyed their meal. I was *slightly disapointed* that I didn't have room to try their salad bar or sundae bar because they both looked amazing and had so many options to choose from. The per person price ($135) isn't just for the food, it helps maintain the immaculate grounds and pay for the dozens of hardworking team members who make sure your visit is fun and memorable. The one thing I wish I would have asked about is what they do with all of their shells and food scrap waste. I wonder if it makes its way to a compost or farm because I've heard that lobster and crab shells are good for soil. A beautiful family-run lakeside property known for their incredible lobster, seafood, prime rib eat-all-you-can buffet with amazing desserts. Open from mid-April to mid-December and closed for winter. This was a nice less than 3 hr. drive from New York City, we chose Mystic CT as our spot for the weekend and it was a 40 min. drive to Charlestown, RI. Immaculate property, huge parking spot, the warmest staff! We've fasted at least 24 hours before we went here thinking I could eat more lobsters but I only had 4! Strategically enjoyed just all the seafood and prime rib to stay low carb but couldn't resist having a coffee shake for dessert! For $135 per adult with maximum dining time of 2 hrs., I'd say it was absolutely worth it, especially when you're celebrating special events! For our anniversary my fiancé decide to take me to The Nordic. This has been a bucket list item for me forever! We went on a Sunday made a reservation for 2pm and prepaid. We got an email a few days before stating we could come earlier like 1:30pm as they were anticipating a busy 2pm. We weren't sure how beach traffic was gonna be heading up so left a little early. Really great spot for all you can eat seafood! You will usually have to wait a while unless you come right when they open. You'll also want to drive or rent a car to get to the Nordic because they are in a remote area and Ubers may not reach you when you want to leave. Staff are all very friendly. Make sure to come within a week before or after your birthday to get a birthday gift at the souvenir counter! They have whole lobsters for you to eat and crab legs. That's a small raw bar of clams and oysters and some cold appetizers. There's also a lot of hot food options as well as steak and chicken nuggets. On Saturday, 9/13/25, I was a diner with 3 other people. We had a lovely table outside by the pond and a talented singer/guitarist was performing. Our waiter, Kai quickly took our drink order and we were impressed with him from the beginning. We planned an entire long weekend trip just to eat at this buffet. We flew 2 hours from Nashville with eager hopes to drown our southern mid life bodies with copious amounts of lobster and butter. I hadn't eaten all day. I was starving. One lobster went down like uncle Charlie on a soapy slip n slide. Two was nothing. Thirty minutes in and I was on my third lobster while my spouse worked on his fourth. Sure we enjoyed a few crab legs, a couple of bites of prime rib, but let's not kid, we came for the delicious crustaceans that promised sweet sweet indulgence and so I continued. I managed to wrangle four whole lobsters. Cleaning them of the unexpected tomalley, clearly I had not done my research and my land legs were running slower on my way to the buffet. We arrived on Friday a little before 4pm because we heard that they would allow people to go inside at this time. At 4pm, the staff came out and informed us that they were open. When you walk in, you pay for the meal ($135pp) and are handed a buzzer when your table is available. The buffet itself does not open until 5pm, but they allow you to have drinks by the bar or explore the lake and waiting area around the restaurant. We sat on the swing bench and the rocking chairs, while overlooking the lake. It was very nice. The food on the other hand was a different story. My partner and I had a total of 4 lobsters, all of which were overcooked and hard to chew. The crab legs were okay. The scallop with bacon was dry and chewy, and the glaze didn't complement this item. The raw oysters and clams were terribly fishy. No amount of vinegar or lemon juice could have saved them. This is the first time I've ever spit out a raw oyster or clams! Mac and cheese was just very salty. Desserts (outside of cookies and ice cream) tasted less than mediocre. The only good items that I tried were the stuffed mushrooms, and stuffed shrimp. Definitely not worth $135... Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, but I would not come here again. Even though we were early the place became packed very quickly and we were glad that we got there early. It's a buffet style with all you can eat except alcoholic drinks. Price is a bit steep and does have 2 hour limit but you can get your money worth if you eat a lot. We tried pretty much everything we could get our hands on and most were ok with some being more worthwhile. Personally I liked the raw bar which was serving oysters, cherrystones, shrimp cocktail and some seafood salads which were all great. The main things everyone comes for are boiled lobsters and crab legs. They are good size but you do have to remove the shell yourself so you will have to get good at de shelling them if you don't want to get messy you may want to stick with other stuff. The lobster was ok and crab legs were better. They were very overcooked and were sitting boiling for too long. Some other notable things were lobster bisque with real lobster meats, ribs, and the deserts. They do serve ice cream at the bar and they are Haagen dazs so you know they are good. They also give you option to make it into parfait, banana splits, milkshake... etc and toppings. Overall the place was good. Service was great. Food is okay. It's not out of the world experience but certainly unique and gets you full with seafoods. We were quite full when we left and we did also receive complementary cup since it was my birthday which was a nice touch. I did like the place but I don't think it's a place i would go often. Maybe once in a while. It also makes you smell like fish after you eat here even after washing your hands so be aware lol. Ok finally made it here ...people here are top notch the service is outstanding ...there is less food but it's all great quality unlimited lobster but it's all steamed and Alaskan crab legs ..I would def come here again read more

This is not any old building with food! The restaurant sits on a beautiful piece of property with a lot of parking! If you don't have reservations, and you have to wait, you won't mind because they even have a horse, a sheep and a donkey next to a pond that has an outside area to order drinks or food with outside activities and a lot of seating space. Plan your trip accordingly,they only open 3 days a week on weekends in the summer. Top notch quality of food,service is superb. The indoor reminds you of a good old steak house but the outdoor ambiance is unmatched! It's right by the lake with beautiful views. Outdoor seating areas all around the property with fireplaces,swing chairs and hammocks. Super cute farm animals for the kids to see, a horse ,sheep and even alpacas and mini donkey on top of kids area to play in . It's 3 hours outside of NY so you should make a day out of it. Do you like seafood? Well this is the place you want to go if you want an all you can eat seafood. I drove 4 hours from New Jersey to eat at this place for my birthday. I was not disappointed at the quality of the seafood and items that was offered. The price of buffet was 125 per person at the time of this review. It was a nice drive through Rhode Island to get here. It's located at a ranch looking type campus with a nice outside area for guest to wait for their table. There were some farm animals on the ranch as well. They are only open from April till first week of December. The Nordic had a good selection of items to choose from. The main items was the seafood including lobster, snow crab, and calms. They also have a grill station with good cuts of meat including filet migon. They ask you the temperature of meat you would like. The lobster bisque soup was so flavorful as well. However, I loaded up on the lobster and snow crabs because its the main event here. Overall, I would take another 4 hour drive to eat here again. Definitely will take another road trip to eat here again. read more
