Seafood chowder (get some while it lasts!)
David R.

Thanks for making that seafood chowder Jimmy!! It was delicious and chock full of seafood as per your usual standards!

Mitzi T.

Definitely worth a try! the clam chowder was really good one of the better ones I've tried in the area! The restaurant was just across the street from Port Judith - we ended our day from visiting Block Island by having dinner here! The line was pretty long but we did go on a Friday night after getting off of the ferry. The line took a bit to get through and waiting on the food as well so be prepared to have a wait

Clam Cakes and res chowder

Made a stop after an afternoon at the beach for a light dinner so chowder, clam cakes and stuffed quahogs it is! Boston clam chowder was thick and creamy and lots of clams very good. Clam cakes also cooked to protection. The quahogs were ok but I would like more seasoning/flavor. The service was nice and helpful. The place has in/out door seating. I will be back to try other things I spotted people enjoying around me.

Got the cheeseburger platter. Chips/fries were great, the coleslaw was mid, but the burgers were inedible. The cheese was slapped on the bun cold, the burger patties tasted as if the had been dunked in liquid smoke and skip the lettuce as it's hunks of iceberg which cause the whole sandwich to fall apart. The chowder is water milky kind - also inedible. Overpriced as well. 2 4 oz. Cheeseburgers, decent amount of fries and a tablespoon of coleslaw for $19.93. Menu price $16.95 actually charged $18.45.

I had already eaten several before taking the pic!

Fabulous food, service, and location. Had wanted to try this place for a while. It did not disappoint! Will definitely return. The lobster bisque and Boston chowder can not be beat. The fried shrimp were delicious and a huge amount.

Local beer and nice views!

We were by the pier that had the ferry to Block island and decided to grab some lunch. There was a pretty long line to place your order but it did move along ok. I ordered the fish and chip special which was fresh cod deep fried with coleslaw and fries.. My wife got the fish sandwich which was also cod. Both were delicious and the portion size of mine was huge!!! Couldn't finish it all in one sitting . I also got the Narragansett beer with it to wash down .

3.5 to 4 Stars Eight of us came here for the first time while on our annual vacation in Narragansett, RI. No reservations accepted. Private parking lot is nice. The outside tented eating area was very nice, but we opted to eat inside. The clean dining room was bright and breezy with several open windows. The restaurant is across the street from the Fast Ferry to Block Island and we could see the ferry. You order at a window and food is delivered if you are inside or handed to you if you are eating outside or picking up. The line moved quickly. My SILs helped bring the food to our table The menu is well organized. I was surprised it included veal parm and chicken Parm. Our order included: Drinks--Frozen Margarita, Narragansett beer and a Mudslide. Shore Dinner for my husband. It included a 1 1/4 pound lobster, many steamed clams, chowder, clam cakes and a stuffy. I was surprised it did not include corn on cob or a couple potatoes. It was about $60 which was fair. Salmon dinner which was delicious. My daughter wanted cocktail sauce. She went to window and was told it was 50 cents. She did not have money on her, so she did not get any. Seems kinda of tacky to me since our bill before tip was $320. Local Cod stuffed with seafood dinner was a generous portion. Very tasty. I selected a tossed salad side. Calamari and sea scallops lightly fried dinner. The scallops were very large, and the calamari was tender. Great choice. Calamari app. had canned mushrooms which was a turn off and way too many warm banana peppers. It was nothing special. The kids got burgers and fries which were good. The two year old enjoyed spaghetti with red sauce. We brought our trash to the can. The bathrooms were clean. Pets are welcome while eating outside. Overall, we like Champlain's down the street better.

Walk up window

If your catching the boat to Block Island or heading back from Block Island you gotta include this place in your plans. The Lobster Bisque can not be passed by. If you just want a snack you can do that too. They have a walk up window and plenary of outdoor and indoor seating. Sometimes we just get a drink and clam cakes or onion rings. Very casual. We love sitting on the patio with a cool breeze.

Shrimp cocktail
Tara B.

This place never disappoints! My must go to spot. Everything I've tried is delectable. From the lazy man lobster (to die for) to the baked stuffed lobster (out of this world)- I cant get enough. I have also tried the shrimp cocktail, lobster bisque, & clam cakes- all fantastic. I saw someone get a cheeseburger and even that looked delicious!

Escorted into the bar area, we chose a Counter style booth right next to the wood-burning stove. I found the additional warmth & cozy surroundings to be just terrific. That night, there was a jazz trio playing, and it added a real sense of flare to the place. My guest and I shared eggplant fries that were lightly coated & crisp absolutely delicious! For dinner he ordered a Caesar salad and lasagna and devoured every bit. I enjoyed the braised beef short ribs, which were tender, served with a rich velvety sauce & mashed potatoes. We added a side of roasted Brussel sprouts that were yummy! (though a bit over salted) Crispy cannolis with homemade ricotta filling were taken home to spoil our kiddos! Our waitress SUE was an attentive and thoughtful, lovely person!

I think I'm going to add it to my calamari now! The kids chicken cutlet meal with fresh cut fries were amazing! The three of us ate the fries and still took the rest to go. Chicken cutlet was thin, crispy and moist inside. We always get the same pizzas wherever we go. Naturally, it makes comparing different restaurants on a good baseline. We got a large NY style (thin crust) pepperoni with half sausage. I'm not a huge sausage fan but my boys are. However, this crumbled sausage was delicious. The pizza is put into a wood fire pizza oven, crust was perfect; thin and cooked well but not burnt. The undercarriage held its shape with a nice bite and crunch! I had to finish off the meal with a Nutella pizza and I have zero regrets. A thin pizza crust with decadent Nutella spread all over it and sprinkled with crushed hazelnuts ended the meal perfectly. Ambiance and decor is modern and beautiful, family friendly and the staff is fantastic! I can't wait to go back and try other types of pizza. They offer Neapolitan, Grandma's and NY; not to mention other foods as well. Ciao!

The complementary bread was warm and delicious...it came with a nice olive oil dip. We got two glasses of the Simi Valley Cab and they were delicious and robust. Great choice for a red wine. I ordered the clam spaghetti and my husband got the Chicken Rossini. The pasta was very salty...probably the saltiest dish I have had in years...I did not send it back, I just downed two full glasses of water with my meal. My husband's chicken dish was large and good tasting, but also a bit salty...not as much as my pasta dish, but salty. It's easy to add a bit of salt to a dish, but it's really hard to take it out. Based on how salty the food was, I would not be coming back here anytime soon.

The short rib ravioli special is AMAZING. We also love their strawberry romana dessert. Their drinks are always good. She went above & beyond with a few phone calls and for that all of our group is grateful. It was a pleasure walking into this airy and energetic restaurant. We were in for a treat as soon as Tori B. greeted us with a great attitude and extensive knowledge of the menu at Celeste. Tori did an excellent job caring for our family as we celebrated a few special occasions this particular night. They did not rush us and allowed us to visit while also providing us exceptional service. Such a true professional in the world of hospitality. The bread service of delicious focaccia was a treat right off the bat. We thoroughly enjoyed the calamari fritto misto with artichoke hearts, pepperoncini, fried lemons, and caper aioli. The spicy whipped feta is a unique preparation with the olive relish, and we raved over the house-made warm pita. Truly some of the best starters the four of us have enjoyed in a long while. It appears Celeste is well known for their pizzas and after consuming the fig & prosciutto pizza we know why. Unctuous blending of flavors with Great Hill blue cheese and so much more. We left room to continue sharing amazing food - the roasted Moroccan chicken and the grilled halibut. Both mains sported their own unique flavors. The Moroccan chicken has a perfect blending of couscous, raisins & cashews with roasted broccolini. The grilled halibut was so perfectly prepared that I dream of ever being able to grill my own back home to such a perfect consistency. Congratulations to a well-run kitchen that supports a seamless front of the house operation. Having managed restaurants for years, I appreciate the energy and passion that goes into creating such memorable dining experiences for guests.

We went on a Thursday evening and street parking was easy to find. Service was great! Here is what we had: 1. Drinks: EASY TIGER- coconut rum, overproof rum, horchata, amontillado, sherry, lime, aromatic bitters. BLOOD, SWEAT, & ROSEMARY (mocktail)- blood orange, lemon, rosemary, soda water. My boyfriend had the easy tiger and found it more tropical tasting than horchata but still liked it. I had the mocktail, which was great! Refreshing drink. Just nice they offer mocktails and tasty ones too! 2. Raw bar: gotta have oysters while in the east coast right? They were from Jamestown and of course yummy. They had a mignonette which was good but since the oysters were so good not needed but a yummy addition option 3. Shared plates/appetizers: CHARRED OCTOPUS- Castlevetrano olive & cannellini bean, frisee, shaved red onion, piri piri, EVOO. This was one of my favorite appetizers. We try octopus everywhere and have had lots of overcooked ones. This was not that! It was soft, buttery and easy to cut and not rubbery. The tail was crispy and yummy. The char was perfect and flavor was on point. PAN ROASTED SUNCHOKES- herbed ricotta, hazelnut, chervil, Calabrian compound butter. What a tasty spin on the sunchokes. I love sunchokes and appreciate a great presentation and different ways to have it. 3. Entrees/Mains: BRANDT FARM 14 OZ RIBEYE- crispy potatoes, onion jam, bravas sauce, haricot vert. My least favorite dish of the night but doesn't mean I have love everything. I still appreciate a really good restaurant and concept. I know this is not a streak house so I understand not being the best steak. It was a bit of a tough steak, but the cooking temp (medium rare) was made to perfection and flavor was simple but perfect (I love love a simple steak without all the extras). The sauce was my least favorite of the dish and could definitely do without. The potatoes and veggies were good except it was somewhat less tasty with the sauce. We made our own surf and turf and had their special for the day. HALIBUT- not sure what was all in for the specifics but this was a winner. The fish was charred yet the moisture was preserved and tasty! Loved the flavoring and sauce. All mixed harmoniously. Dessert: BASQUE CHEESECAKE-fresh whipped cream, brown butter salted caramel, strawberry. We had a hard time deciding between the pistachio tiramisu and the cheesecake. I'm sure both are tasty. I like my cheesecakes more simple and asked for this without whipped cream and strawberry. The consistency of the cheesecake was great! Taste was point on. Although I don't care for caramel with it I tried the caramel and mmmmmm. Cheesecake was a great way to end. Overall fantastic experience. Our waitress was lovely. Staff was wonderful. Food was delicious. The ambiance was cozy and cute. If you are in the area recommend coming here for a nice dinner.

For my entrée, I chose the house-made gnocchi ($29), and it was divine. Larry mentioned they make it from scratch, and it absolutely showed--each bite was like a soft, pillowy cloud, perfectly complemented by a rich, flavorful sauce. We all shared bites of each other's dishes, and not a single plate disappointed. I sampled their chicken Toscana, chicken Milanese, rigatoni Bolognese and fettuccine scampi.
