We decided on ChopHouse Grille last minute and was able to get a reservation. We saw other reviews that mentioned the food and service was good so we thought we would give it a try. We drove up to the building and there really is nothing special about it, very few windows and some over grown trees in the parking lot. I didn't have high hopes. When entering into the restaurant the appearance of the bar and dining area was actually decent. Wood floors, wooden tables and a nice atmosphere at the bar. There was a bit of a cleaning supply/bar smell when you first walk in. Again I wasn't expecting much. The kids ordered a small Caesar salad and pasta with butter as their main dish. My husband and I both ordered the marinated grilled chicken with vegetables and potato. A fresh hot loaf of bread with butter was placed on the table right away. It was definitely out of the oven hot and delicious. The kids devoured most of it and we ordered a second one. The waitress, Grace was very attentive and ensured we had everything we needed for the table. I have to say the service was excellent as expressed on other reviews. Definitely a plus with kids! Our kids devoured the Caesar salad. It had fresh lettuce, shredded cheese, croutons and well mixed in dressing. They loved it! When our main dishes arrived, it looked promising, two pieces of nicely grilled chicken on the dish. When I tasted it, I was impressed! It was delicious! Perfectly grilled, not rubbery, and very tasty. The meal came with a side sauce of our liking. I chose the lemon butter on recommendation of the waitress. Perfectly paired! The kids pasta and butter was buccatini and was nice and hot, with a side of potato chip fries. Very good and very unique. They ate it all! Overall, ChopHouse Grille exceeded my expectations. While it isn't on the same level as a special occasion restaurant like the Coast Guard House, it offers solid food, excellent service, and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. We never felt out of place dining with our kids, and the staff made the experience easy and enjoyable. I would definitely return to try one of their steaks next time. If you're looking for a comfortable spot for a family dinner with consistently good food and service, I'd happily recommend giving it a try. read more

First time here and it was hot or miss. Let's start with the French onion soup. Whose idea was it to call this French onion soup? This was definitely not a classic French onion soup. The taste was nothing like a good steakhouse French onion soup. The cheese was off and the broth was a totally different flavor profile. The croutons were soggy. Only had a few spoonfuls and I was done with that. The New York strip was cooked well but could use a little more char. Mashed potatoes and asparagus were fine. Soda was flat and flavorless. This was my second time here and I had another great experience! Yeh service is always great and the food and cocktails are enjoyable. My best friend loves the spot because they have a lot of GF options. Tonight we got cocktails, soup and opted to split a sandwich. We asked if the tots were GF, and Max, our amazing waiter said that they weren't. He not only split our anarchies in half on separate plates but gave me the tots and my best friend fries. Amazing, affordable meal at Chophouse Grille in Wakefield. A friend and I stopped in around 3:30 PM yesterday, between lunch and dinner service. Our friendly, attentive, wonderful server, Paula, informed us that the entire menu... lunch, dinner and specials... was available from open until close. Sweet! I had been craving ribs, so ordered their half rack of baby backs for $24, which comes with two sides. Their baked potatoes weren't quite ready yet, so I chose the garlic mashed and grilled asparagus. Do you ever worry that something you crave won't be as good as you anticipate? Well, this meal totally exceeded my expectations! The rib meat was fall off the bone tender with a slight char and a delicious sauce. The garlic mashed potatoes were perfectly seasoned with no lumps, and the grilled asparagus was also perfectly cooked. I ate every morsel of food on my plate, which I rarely do. A dog wouldn't have wanted those bones when I was finished with them! My friend ordered the Chophouse burger ($21), which she also thought was excellent. This was an all around great experience. Very nice lunch with good service and delicious food! Quiet and calm inside, nicely furnished dining area with plenty of space. I had one of the lunch specials, a grilled chicken with pesto on ciabatta and it was very tasty with a fresh spring salad. My colleague's sandwich was also very good. I like the Chop House, but the menu is very limited. I have enjoyed the rack of lamb once before and my BF liked the chop house burger. My brother and SIL go once a week and they claim their Pasta Bolognese and Buffalo Chicken tenders are the best. The service is great, but high tops are too small for all the stuff they want to put on the small table. Advertising needs to go or get bigger tables. The staff is great - they are very much hands on and happy to make exceptions. The last time I went, the lamb chops were not good - not sure why - and they immediately took them away and offered to change it for something else. Good customer service! I will try this restaurant again, as my family loves it, but I there are other places in the area that I want to try before going back. read more

Do not eat here, had the whiskey braised short rib yesterday and are still sick today after being up all night sick, I did not eat anything except that meal all day yesterday and only saltines and water today. For the main course, we had the spicy chicken sandwich, chopped burger, and Birra grilled cheese -- all were tasty and satisfying. The ambiance was really cool and visually appealing; I enjoyed the atmosphere. However, the service could have been better. An actual 4.5-star review but there is potential for it to increase to 5 stars. While reservations aren't required, they are encouraged. During peak season you'll fare better by making reservations. Call or create online to select your time and party size. For parking, there is one way in and out of their parking lot along a busy traffic route. When weather permits, there is outdoor dining, high tops, and bar seating. I waited until after my second dining experience to write a review. Good food and drinks each time. Service although short staffed was not an issue. On each visit, our server was kind, informative and gave the vibe that she actually wanted to be there. I found the portions to be filling and the price point appropriate despite the rise in so many items due to the pandemic. Some areas inside are better lit than others but it's a good date night vibe. Plenty of televisions if you want to grab a drink and catch your favorite sporting event. The most recent implementation is the 3% fee to pay by credit card. So unless you keep a lot of cash on you, be prepared. I appreciate the servers properly wearing their masks. The kitchen staff, however, not so much. When looking into the kitchen from my table, some had no mask or were not worn properly. If in the area, I would dine here again and recommend it. High potential for 5 stars. read more

We met with a family member we haven't seen in years. He lived in that area, so we figured we'd drive to him. He had never been there, so we decided to try it out. The waitress was fantastic. They sous vide the chicken wings so they melt off the bone. The service I cannot even explain. The bartender is what I would consider bi polar. Rude and short. He first slammed down the menus, then when asked a question he would answer before finishing the question while giving a yup or some other snide answer while turning around and walking away. Towards the end he started to turnaround and become friendlier. The inside is clean, and the decor is nice. The place itself is very large and has a big parking lot. We got into town late and many places were closed. We found the ChopHouse and gave it a try. We sat at the bar. The staff were friendly, and the decor was so festive for fall. I invited another couple to dinner last night 7/31 which was both our first time. Within 2 minutes of sitting down before getting water we were surrounded with fly's. When the waiter showed up to our table I asked if we get a free app for killing 3 fly's, The waiter laughed. The dinner meal was good but fly's kept landing on our glassware. We came here for our anniversary. We were trying to find a nice new place and I really liked the look of this menu. First the decor is nice and more on the nautical side which is obviously appropriate for where this place is located. We were seated upstairs and if felt more private which was fabulous. We started with Stuffies which were good, Id get them again. Then I had the lentil soup. This is likely would get again. It wasn't hot and it lacked seasoning. For dinner my meal was fine, steak cooked well but everything was just fine nothing wowed me. Next time I'd make different food choices, there was a lot on the menu that was appealing to me. Our server was super friendly and great and I question how they assign waitstaff to tables because there were three tables occupied upstairs and each had a different server. I watched our server run all over the restaurant and make drinks and I felt bad that he was so busy where it may have made more sense to have one person for the area. We often had to wait long periods to order and get our check or napkins but again we recognized he was busy it was in no way bad service. read more

The Chop House in my opinion is a fabulous restaurant with a variety of entrees. There combination of dinners never disappoint. The meal always begin with their delicious hot bread topped with a side of their apple cinnamon maple flavored butter. The service is outstanding! Along with their reasonable prices, make it worth the cost of a fabulous arrangement of dinners. Last but not least, we have had the honor to be served by one of their unique waitresses, Julie. She first waited on us in 2024. This year we asked specifically for Julie to be our waitress. Hopefully, we will be able to ask for her again next year? She is a sweet bubbly young girl, full of zest, which makes the experience worth the stop! My personal rating is 5 plus plus. I can't wait to revisit the Chop House next year. With its name, I was expecting a real NY-style steakhouse but The Chophouse is really just your average American food joint. Big bar, sports on tv, well-worn kind of ambiance. The menu runs the gamut from buffalo wings to pad Thai! This ain't Gallaghers or Peter Lugers! 3 of us went for lunch; I had filet tip sandwich - excellent, sister had fish and chips - very good, nephew had pulled pork-inedible.
