This brand is not the first option for glasses wearer. But sunglasses wearer is fine. This brand doesn't have prescription lense service in the store now. This brand staffs asked me go to Costco, Jins or other 3rd party vision store to have lenses done. Or I could have prescription lense with the style glasses purchase together online. -Online: it's not possible to add prescriptions and general items together in the shopping bag. I couldn't do checkout. -Costco: Staffs here said can not do prescription because gentle monk glasses doesn't have size series number on frame. -Jins: Staffs here said they can not pop out original lenses from this frame. Its material problem. They dont take risk for breaking It. ehhh.. Then I decided to do it refund in the store. Glasses buyer just think it seriously before you buy, it may take you a lot of time to get lense done or waste time for nothing.

If you watched kdrama cloy, you want a pair of the Her. Definitely go in person and try on the sunglasses. I initially want to purchased the her. After trying it on, sales rep and I decided the Lo cell 2 fits best on me. Free adjustment. Sunglasses fitted perfectly for my low nose ridge. Services is attentive, thorough and very helpful. Clean and organized shop.

Super chic glasses store in valley fair mall! Went here on a Tuesday afternoon around 3 pm so it wasn't packed whatsoever. My friend and I were able to try on glasses without any care in the world. You can't have food or drinks inside the store, so they'll ask you to store your items in a secure mirror closet. It was fun to try on the trendy glasses; it gives futuristic vibes. Interesting modern art installations and plush seating while you wait.

(Tom Cruise voiceover) The vibe is out of this world sunglasses where you procure works of art to adorn the visage of beautiful people. If the Musée D'Orsay had a section for sunglasses, it would be called Gentle Monster. Josh warmly greeted me. He recommended the Hers.S & the Mondo. Done. Love the aesthetic and solid craftsmanship feel of the eyewear. You can tell the folks behind Gentle Monster breathe passion, skill, and usefulness into their product. And trust me when I say that the secret to feeling good is looking good...and doing good. Be the temple. My gosh there were so many beautiful people in here that I thought we were on the movie set for my sequel to the latest Mission Impossible. Allen made sure everything had that white glove service touch. He didn't know it was me, Tom Cruise, wearing a Ryan Reynolds face mask disguise which I use to remain anonymous in a crowd. (For those in the know, Ryan's a lesser known actor.) Ladies will swoon when they see me wearing Gentle Monster. Will definitely be back! Woohoo!

How far down the rabbit hole do you want to go? Is it an art display or a eyeglass store? It all depends on the eye of the beholder. There are Robot donkeys and even a bewitching stately grandmother. Yes, the art on the walls, videos and immersive exhibitions are a wonderful plus for this mall. So much space is reserved for these art pieces that don't have any explanation. It is a mystery why they are there and what they mean. I found the stately grandmother especially engrossing. She is simply dosing on a chair and moving very slowly. Extremely realistic and entirely unexpected in a store selling eye glasses. So why do it? I believe the answer is because we'll talk about it on social media platforms and will rent his store above all others. Fascinating advertising and art concept where the two mingle for a bit. It's worth a visit to the mall just to see have this funky experience.

I've passed this store several times and never stopped to go in. I walked in and a young man went over the "rules" and asked that we sanitize before entering and that we flip over any glasses after we tried them on. I asked him to explain the concept of the store and he did a good job of that. Every location is an immersive unique experience. There's all types of different eyewear on display. They are able to add prescription to frames and take about 2 weeks turnaround since they send it to a shop in Anaheim. I didn't try any on but found some unique pieces. Several employees checked in on us. They definitely prioritize customers who are going to purchase. Their experience was more hands on. The installations at this store are interesting. Donkeys, old lady, and what looks like brooms (IDK). When I'm on the market for a new pair of glasses I will definitely consider returning.

Went here sometime last year, it is very cool to have a gentle monster near by..or at least a 1-2 hour drive away lol. I wished they update it more like the one in Korea! It's kind of outdated

Yay, a Gentle Monster in our neighborhood! It's difficult to find sunglasses that fit Asian faces, especially with the nose bridge, so I am super grateful that this Korean sunglass store has made its way here. I understand people's frustrations with the appointment only set up, but I personally appreciate the 30 minute window you have with the worker and the Covid protocols of wearing gloves and having every pair you try on sanitized right after. It might be nice to have a sign that it is appointment only and direct people to the site to schedule? Do note it takes about a week or two until an appointment is available. The store is super spacious, easy to socially distance at this time, and a couple funky robots. I forgot the employee's name but she was super helpful and so kind to clean the dozens of sunglasses we tried on. The sunglasses are a little too big in lens for my comfort but found a pair that I like that I'm waitlisted for. Majority of the sunglasses are about $249 and really affordable!

Love this place. Sunglasses are detailed to us and gentle monster sunglasses fit us very well. They are super popular, as you could see we waited in another long line and was well worth it.

What does the donkey represent? Why is it displayed in a sunglass store?

According to Google... that art "provides visitors with an immersive experience featuring a kinetic robot resembling an old lady. The figure introduces consumers to her childhood friends, including two donkeys."

I think if I'd gone to another eyeglass shop that doesnt do same-day glasses, I'd have been able to go as big as I wanted

Last year, I came here, but I decided not to leave a review even if their customer service was bad. As I thought, maybe it was an off way. But today's experience was the same as last years. I love the eyewear of the brand which is why it is the place I get my glasses. It's wild to me that the same experience that happened last year happened today - no greeting, no one asked if I needed help. But the weird thing is they greeted other people and asked them they needed help. Two years in a row of no customer service is wild. I'm sorry, but it makes no sense there's no customer service when they have at least 4 employees in the store. Y'all are not that busy. One of them was even using the table in the center to do a few push ups LOL. Really I don't understand this location except they have no customer service here. Literally don't know why they ignore me here because they did welcome other people coming in. Is it how I look? I already knew I was going to get the same glasses from last year and my prescription is the same. Easy sale, but I suppose they didn't want the sale. I've been in here for 15 minutes now and even sat on the couch to see if anyone would help, but nope. At least, I had time to write this review. I got three pairs of glasses between 2024-2025 (1 pair regular glasses, 1 set of lenses inserted in my own pair of regular frames, and 1 pair sunglasses.) I had to keep sending back the regular glasses either due to incorrect instructions from Optical Illusions to the lab; or the lab adding blue light blocking. I wanted totally clear lenses. Eventually I got the clear lenses, but it took 3 rounds on one pair of glasses to get them right, which meant I had to wait about 6 to 8 weeks and had to keep returning. In November I learned that my prescription had changed and I ordered a new pair of frames with my new prescription. I told them to make the lenses exactly the same as the last pair, that is, CLEAR (which were finally made correctly.) They told me that they had switched to a new lab since I had seen them last. Guess what, this new pair had the blue light blocking again! Since I was traveling over the holidays, I wore my new glasses and dealt with it. I told them I would bring them back in January to swap to the lenses that I preferred. It's been 2 weeks since I brought them back and it's January 15th. I went to pick them up and again, they have blue light blocking on them! I was told it was the lab and they have escalated to the lab manager. I'm getting quite annoyed. When I first picked up this pair of glasses, I knew they needed adjustment on the temples as I measure 135 and the frame was 145. They refused to adjust to my perfect fit and told me that I should wear the glasses and see how they are, so I walked out without them bending the earpiece to my fit, and all during the holidays the glasses kept slipping down my nose. I knew they needed adjustment by bending the temples to better fit around my ears. This is very easy for any optician to do by heating them with the machine, and bending them, and visually checking the fit around the ear. I agree with the other review on here from 9/14/24 that states, "The opticians have minimal skills in glass fittings and adjustments. They don't really care to spend the time adjusting and fixing your frames after you've spent your money there." They have sophisticated machines for the eye exam, but the doctor does not perform the test that can take the measurements of the back structures of the eye as part of the standard exam. My previous eye doctor did so. I am seriously considering switching to another optician after all of this. I know what frames look best on my small face and I know that I want clear lenses without blue light blocking. Above all, they should take a moment to make sure the glasses fit the person's face before letting them walk out the door. I have been wearing glasses for about 40 years and contacts for 38 years (since the 8th grade.) I know when my glasses should feel better on my face. Two stars is due to the adequate vision exam by the doctor, and I had no problems at all with my sunglasses. I love my designer prescription progressive sunglasses! Unfortunately my prescription has changed since I got them and I need to replace the lenses.
