My partner and I have been going to Eye Boutique Optometry since 2021. It's always been very easy to schedule (or reschedule, if needed), and the staff is warm and helpful. I need extra screenings for some health reasons, and every appointment it's clear my eyes are in good hands. I trust their recommendations, they're great about walking me through my options and what insurance does and does not cover, and it has been easy to manage my sunglasses and regular glasses frames through them. Their new location is a big upgrade -- spacious, the temperature control on hot days is fantastic, and the various chairs in the waiting area, eye glass space, and exam room are comfy. Definitely recommend for their combo of serious expertise & warm care! Plus there is a DELICIOUS croissant place just next door. read more

I made an appoint with the Eye Boutique because I was looking for a VSP Optometrist in Santa Clara and they had good reviews. I had an appointment and when I arrived they stated that I did not. Ok, I thought maybe I was confused, but I checked my records and I had indeed called this location. The staff there was not friendly or helpful and did not appear to care. They gave me attitude, sorry we can not get you in today...never did I ask them to do so. But do work with me to reschedule. A simple apology for the confusion will do. They turned me away like they didn't need me business. Based on the experience with the front desk / office manager I would not recommend this optometrist to anyone looking for quality care. read more

Our whole family started seeing Dr. Oh a few months back . Dr. Oh is wonderful and has been really good. 5 stars for her. But my review is about the staff. They have made multiple mistakes within the last few months with every order I placed. For my contact lenses, first they ordered the wrong prescription for the trial lenses. They ordered the left eye prescription for both left and right eye. Second, after finally getting the right prescription, they charged the wrong insurance for the lenses. I have 2 insurances, one resets by calendar year and one resets every 12 months. I asked them to order contact lenses in December on the insurance that resets in January but it turns out that they actually used the insurance that resets every 12 months. So now I can't use that insurance for the rest of this year. Messed up my entire planning to get contact lenses and prescription glasses because of their mistake. Now I can't get any more contact lenses or prescription glasses this entire year. Their mistakes messed up my entire annual plan for eye care despire me having 2 insurances. I have been planning my annual eye care needs and supplies with other optometrists for 15 years and this has never happened before. read more

Update on 2/7/2025 (4 hours after the original Review): after my initial review, Kate from the Doctor's started to discuss the details of My son's visit chart (Medical Information). This is a violation of HIPAA. Original Review on 2/7/2025: We had been seeing Dr. Oh for a couple of years and were ok with the care until recently. My son's next OK lens appointment was originally scheduled for June 2025. However, we were informed that Dr. Oh would not be available and were asked to reschedule. Instead of a later date, we were told to come in as early as February 2025 because the doctor wanted to "put us back on track." I questioned the necessity of an annual OK lens checkup so soon, considering my son had just undergone his annual checkup in August 2024 and received a new pair of OK lenses. After multiple discussions with the staff, I was told that if we did not return in February, we would be violating our contract (which allows for one OK lens checkup per year) and would have to pay additional fees. I had to remind them of a few key points: My son just received his new OK lenses in August 2024, so there is no medical need for another checkup so soon. The scheduling delays were due to various reasons, including the doctor's availability, an eye infection my son experienced, and the office's failure to remind us to book the next appointment. I emphasized that while I fully support adhering to the contract, it should be done in the best interest of the patient--not as a financial obligation. I proposed that we use August 2024 as the starting point and schedule the next checkup between June and August 2025. The staff member became upset and insisted that if we did not come back in February, we would incur additional charges. After careful consideration, I made the decision to transition my entire family to a new provider. read more

I needed a new eye doctor and was able to schedule an appointment very easily! They're very booked and busy, but I was able to secure an appointment within a week or so. I was running late but they were very accommodating! Allysa helped me out for my appointment and she was so knowledgeable!! Dr. Chung conducted my eye exam and overall it went great. With my vision insurance, I was able to pick out a pair of glasses for myself. The process was smooth and Allysa did a great job explaining insurance and pricing. I can tell that the team loves to work here! The facilities itself were very clean and well presenting. They have a plethora of frames to choose from, however, you also have the option to bring in your own frames. Best part is Croissante is right next door so right after getting your eyes checked, put em to good use and feed your eyes (and belly) with the pastries!! This review is only about the eyeglasses store, not the eye examination services. I have never met the doctor. We have used the eyeglasses store a few times, but in my most recent experience I found the store to be incompetent, unprofessional, and untrustworthy. I will never be doing business with this store again. We already had an eyeglasses frame and prescription for our child, and only needed new lenses, which the store agreed to provide us. We gave them the frame, and a week later, they called us to pick up the frame with the lenses installed. The very next day, however, the right-side lens fell out the frame. When we tried to screw it back in, we found that the lens was too large for the frame. I took it to the store, and the clerk agreed that the lens was too large. The screw on the right side could not be screwed all the way in. The clerk said she would have the lens ground around the edges to fit. A week later, they called us again to tell us it was ready. However, when I picked it up, it was obvious that the right-side lens was still too large. The frame still had a large gap around the right-side screw. It was especially noticeable when compared with the left-side screw, which was shut tight with no gap (see photo). The difference was quite obvious, but it took a long conversation until the store clerks even fully acknowledged it. To further prove that there would be no gap if the lens were the right fit, I asked them to try removing the right-side lens and screwing in the frame without the lens, to verify that it normally shuts tight. They then told me that the screw was actually a new larger one that the store had specially put in, and if they tried to remove it, they could permanently damage the frame. This store accepted our frame, agreed to fit new lenses into it, and took my money & insurance info. In such a case, they should have either: 1. Done a proper job fitting the lenses into the frame. If an error was made the first time that could not be corrected by grinding, then they should have manufactured new lenses. 2. Or if for any reason the job could not be done correctly, they should have simply told us, canceled our order, and returned the frame to us with no lenses. Instead, they did a sloppy hack job of forcing an incorrectly-sized lens into the frame, and pushed the shoddy product to the customer. Not just once, but twice. Furthermore, the store workers took on a defensive attitude with irrelevant and misleading -- borderline fraudulent -- comments about how the astigmatism in the prescription makes the lens thicker and harder to fit into a customer-provided frame, instead of trying to promptly acknowledge and address the problem. They told me that if the lens falls out again, I can bring it back and they'll try to fix it again. But at this point, why would I want to go back to that store, or talk to those people, about anything? "Incompetent", "unprofessional", and "untrustworthy" seems to summarize well this eyewear store. read more

I love this new location in comparison to their old one just a few blocks down. The doctor is great as always, the staff is always so friendly and everything is so clean. My only complaint would be that I feel like their selection is a bit limited BUT not docking off any stats because from what they do have, it's a good selection for sure. I think I am just picky and a little indecisive since I have a larger face so not all of the styles / shapes suit me. I want to give a special recognition to Susie (sp?) who helped me today. I found, with the help of my sister via FaceTime, a very nice pair of Carin glasses. The overall quality of the glasses and lenses are very high and I am pleased with my vision while using them. We chose this place because of their selection of frames, lots of high end brands like Prada and Burberry, which is our preference. Location is easy to get to, plenty of parking, very clean and attentive staff. They also fixed my older glasses on the spot, which was missing a notepad. With the situation now where all kids' eyes glued into their screens, my older son needed immediate care for his eyes as his prescription went up so quick. We went to see another optometrist for his OrthoK but because of his special situation, they didn't manage to get his vision right and decided to give up after a year trying. I decided to switch him to Dr. Oh and after a few fitting (he is special case, most kids only need 1 or 2 fitting at the most) Dr. Oh managed to get his vision right. And when my younger son needed glasses, without thinking twice I immediately brought him to Dr. Oh and get him OrthoK right away. Since he was still very early, Dr. Oh got his vision perfect at the first fitting! If your kid needs OrthoK, I will definitely recommend Dr. Oh. She is super knowledgeable and sweet.
