I always forget that Target has an optical section. It's located right next to the Pharmacy. Came by the other day to see if I could use my vision insurance to pick up a pair of plano (non-prescription) sunglasses. Liann gave a great overview of the policy and was way more helpful than Site for Sore Eyes, my usual optometry that turned me down for the same request. Short Answer: you can, but would need to show documentation of the vision correction procedure (LASIK, EVO ICL, etc) with the date and doctor's name. This varies by store and insurance in California. No issues if you have a prescription. Liann helped me through my order, got it processed online, and I'm about two weeks away from receiving my Ray-Bans. Happy, easy experience. Really like Dr Yang, but lately I'm just shoved off on other people. After the last appointment I got numerous reminders including phone calls. I made the damn appointment. I don't need you spamming me with multiple reminders. And now when I show up at the appointment, I'm left sitting around for 10 minutes because they can't be on time. I walked out and will not go back to them. I don't even care what it costs to go somewhere else. Multiple appointments for "follow ups" whatever. They try but it is quite chaotic. You're always getting a new doctor and new staff and there is no continuity so while they get things done probably eventually, the road to get there for the customer feels like a madhouse. I booked an appointment on the phone and they didn't have it on their system when I arrived so I had to rebook and waste time with teplanning around it. After my appointment I was supposed to receive trial contacts and those are nowhere tp be found 2 weeks later. If you're looking for some chaos in your life come here. The Optometrists are only good here. The frame and lenses staff is horrible. The lenses are not of high quality. The staff would try to sell you unnecessary stuff and then deny accepting the returns like the fog cleaner which I purchased then I didn't find it useful but optical staff did not accept returns saying, this is third party not target actually as per the manager at this Target location. I used my insurance for frame purchase for which they made 1.64 thickness index lenses whereas the one I purchased in 2017 was 1.74 index which are more thinner. Really this guys are so outdated in the lenses division. Guys scale up, the world is moving way faster than Target opticals. They waste your time, no time sense, I have to go back and forth for getting information about the lenses why are the lenses so Thick. Target opticals kept on saying its because of the prescription so high and all which is non-sense. Because we got thinner lenses in 2017 for almost same prescription (2.75) was only difference in 2021(January). They were asking me to change the frame but the frame which I had from 2017 is of the same thickness. So be transparent guys, I don't have so much time for all this back and forth. Its your job to provide with good customer service. I would never visit this place. I had lot of expectation form target opticals but let down completely. This guys are creating 5 years or even older lenses technology for their customers with little higher prescription. They event said due to your companies insurance only this much can be covered. But I had paid more than 200$ for getting thinner lenses, which includes thinner lenses, still put the blame on my company. My suggestion be open about your shortcomings like producing thicker lenses even in 2021. Just imagine I took time out and to post this message because of very bad customer experience. read more

Came in this morning to TARGET to buy stuff and I brought along my prescription glasses which needs new screws and some adjustment. I was met by a very nice lady Liam , very welcoming person, greeted me with respect. I explained to her about what I need and asked me to take a sit while she worked on my glasses. She even cleaned my glasses adjusted the alignment and did a very good job. And at no charge...thank you Lian. Nice service and nice work. Then me and my wife went to pay for some of the items we got and ask a lady in red shirt if the cash register is open and without even saying sorry please use the self check out just turned her back and left. I called to see about getting a contact prescription and was scheduled for an appt 45 min later. Was greeted right away by Dr. Shah and got checked in, in about 20 seconds. All the staff was friendly and accommodating. The eye exam took around 20 minutes and was quick and easy. Dr. Shah answered all my questions and made me feel so comfortable. They have you do a training with the contacts to ensure you're comfortable handling them on your own before they send you off. The young redhead who trained me was so sweet and helpful with tips to help me catch on. Overall, the experience was phenomenal and I recommend them to everyone!! Will be taking my boyfriend here next weekend to get his eyes checked! I really like Dr Yang. She's very thorough and explains everything she's doing. At first I was a little concerned about going to Target for an eye exam, but I've been to her twice and have really appreciated her style and process. They have several pieces of technology that check the overall health of my eyes - looking for signs of macular degeneration, cataracts, and glaucoma. I recommend spending the additional money to get images of the inside of your eyes, so much better than having eyes dilated! I leave with my updated prescription and also peace of mind that my eyes have had a good physical and are doing well. I'll return to Dr Yang! read more

Nice little selection! The place is small...Once yo walk in the Target hang a left and it will be past the registers next to the customer service desk. The sales reps are nice and seemed to know what they are doing. The glasses ranged from $99-$199 . I got a pair of Armani's for $139.00 total. I have a 50% discount coupon though. From what I could tell by shopping around this was WAYYYYY cheaper than lens crafters and pretty competitive with sears optical. I gave them 3 stars because when I bought the glasses they said 10 days then they will be here but it ended up being 15 days. I work with deadlines and stuff like that so when I say something and don't come through I do my best to compensate. All in all it was a pretty good experience and my only complaint was how long it took to get the glasses. read more

I went to Target Optical when it first opened about two years ago. I wanted to get an eye exam, and to get new lenses in my existing frame. While the staff were friendly, they made several very bad mistakes: 1. for whatever reason, they incorrectly measured the prescription for my right eye so I ended up with a blurry vision when I look through that eye. 2. I had an expensive designer frame which I only used for two years (which is why I wanted to keep it). It had a unusual type of screw which I pointed out and the staff said it was no problem. They said it should take about 2 weeks for the lab to get the new lenses in and send back. For the next two months I had to call them every two weeks only to be told that the glasses were not ready, and they had no idea how much longer it would take. At the end of two months, they told me that the lab was not able to deal with the unusual screw so they returned the frame and new lenses to me. The problem? They had bent the frame completely out of shape and with massive scratches all over. It was not salvageable. You would think they would offer to do something about destroying my expensive frame, but nothing whatsoever. I could argue for it, but at that point I did not want to do business with them, and all I wanted was to get out of there and go to my previous optical place. They put the new lenses into a new frame of the exact style without any problem, and got them ready in one week. While I don't blame the front office staff for their lab's incompetence, I do blame them for making me wait for two months without letting me know what was going on, and neither acknowledged nor compensated me for the lab destroying my frame. The new frame I had to get, which was identical to the destroyed one, cost over $400. If you want a straight forward, simple, and cheap pair of glasses, they may be able to take care of it. But if you have anything sophisticated or of value, do not trust them to get the job done. Avoid avoid avoid. read more

This review is for the dispensing side, NOT the doctor's. Last year, I ordered contacts online the day before my Rx expired. Online processing took a day or so for it to get my Rx approved so by the time this location received the order, my Rx was technically expired and rejected the order. This is understandable. I went inside the store with my proof of purchase and Rx and ordered them in person and they accepted. They said they would mail my order and should receive it in a week or so. After two weeks, I followed up and was told that there was an issue with my address and they couldn't deliver. The person on the phone said it might get automatically rerouted to their store and to wait a week. I followed up a week later and still nothing. The person on the phone she'd get right on it and order it to be delivered ASAP to their store (they did offer for me to pick up a trial pair). A week goes by and I follow up again and still nothing. I call another week later & was told my contacts had arrived & ready for pick up. NOTE: all of the calling and follow ups were done by me, not their staff. Last month (02/26/2021), I had an appointment and ordered contacts to be delivered to their store (because of my history above). They said it'd take 7-10 business days and they'll call me when they're ready for pick up. I just called today (03/11/2021) to see if by chance they're in (because tomorrow makes it officially 2 weeks) and the lady on the phone knew my name and said "yes, I'm positive they're in. We tried to call you but there was something wrong with the phone number." The photo shows they had no issue contacting me to remind me of my appointment the day before, contacting me on the day of my appointment to let me know an earlier time slot was available, and to let me know I left behind my old pair of contacts because the doctor had given me a new pair during my exam. This staff is obviously lacking of customer service training. I've been in a few times and due to the pandemic, it definitely doesn't scream busy. But for me, I'll resume to ordering elsewhere. read more

This review is only for Holly, the optician. One star. I was working with Jia on some issues with my coverage when Holly walked in for her shift. Within moments, she started interjecting herself into the conversation while I was trying to speak to Jia. I had an appointment at 930am, but it was nearly 11am at this time. Jia and I were having issues getting a hold of Dr. Yang, who was working at another facility for the day (hence why I was still sitting there). Holly rudely tells me that Dr. Yang would email me, and I didn't need to sit there. I told her that I did not mind, and Jia and I were expecting a phone call from her any moment now. Holly tells me that there are other customers and I am taking up a seat. I look around. There is LITERALLY NO ONE else there me. I told her that if another customer came, I would give them my seat if they needed it. I also mentioned that I had not yet had my scheduled appointment because we were still waiting to hear back from Dr. Yang. She rolls her eyes at me and tells me again to just wait until Dr. Yang emails me. Jia and Dr. Hua ended up helping me and resolving my issue. I did not appreciate how rude Holly was, telling me that I should leave the store, and to give up my seat to other customers when there was no one there. She also had no idea what was going on, as she had walked in on the conversation at the start of her shift and didn't have any of the background information. I highly recommend Jia for her patience and professionalism and Dr. Hua for being able to resolve my issue. I can't say the same for Holly. Avoid her when you come into the store!!! read more

EXCELLENT SERVICE, ABOVE AND BEYOND OTHER BRANCHES. I called through Yelp's number and Victoria picked up right away. After a long talk after walking me through my pricing options with my insurance (took about an hour which is pretty accurate and pretty involved) I scheduled an appointment knowing the process is going with ease and I know I'm getting the best deal with Victoria's help. Since I got 2 pairs of glasses and contacts, I'm glad I got my best saving. Since cleaning and fitting your glasses is free here whether you bought glasses from here or not, Victoria cleaned my glasses and fitted mine very well. She also gave me some tips how to take care of my glasses (keep away from the heat, wash with solution, single use towelette) since mine got very bad glare after years of wear and tear. Since this is my first time getting contacts, she took charge to train me for the contacts. My eyes are super sensitive and with my long eye lashes that didn't help, I always had issue putting them on. With countless number of trials, I thought I would never made it. However, Victoria sat with me from 5 to almost 7 to walk through step by step patiently with me to make sure I know how to take contacts in and out multiple times. I really appreciate the patience and the attitude I get from the staff here. Super friendly and knowledgeable in what they do, this is the service you need for important things such as getting glasses! I can wear contacts now without anxiety and I would like to tremendously thank the staff here for their help. It had been 5 years since my last glasses. Using my insurance from work my eye check up was free. I heard a lot of good things from Yelp about Target Optical. I booked my appointment on Yelp online. Not only was that super convenient but I received email and text confirmation and reminders. Thank you so much for that ! I only was I able to book a Sunday 11:00 am appointment. The customer service was top notch !! Edgar at the front desk is super awesome! He can hand the volume of influx of several customers like a pro ! He give attention to everyone ! My eye Doctor Ms. Hao Tran.....I could say enough good thing about her. !!!Extremely patient with me, sweet, accurate to get the correct sight. The thing is...I called two days earlier after receiving the call that my contacts had come in. I called and the receptionist was nice enough but I corrected her saying I wanted to come in at 1030 am NOT 230 pm. On the phone! Yet that was not corrected so when I showed up at 1030, the receptionist attempted to correct me twice repeating "2:30". Uh. No. I even stated on the phone, 1030 am. So what happens? I arrive at 1030...I'm still here and it's after 12 now. This is bullshit. I paid and just need to "consult" with the doctor now that the lenses are in my eyes. I've been wearing RGP since the 6th grade, why the hell am I still here waiting for a doctor who is under the assumption that my appt was scheduled at 230 for this bs... Almost 2 hrs later I was finally seen and the doctor still assumed that I was the one to blame for the misunderstanding. The RGP lens check is a legit thing but not really. For all but not even 10 minutes it took...I waited way too long. In the end, the receptionist played nice while basically blaming me for the miscommunication. Not cool. read more

My coverage amounts in documents that my insurance company provided me with differs from what Target optical office gave to me. Coverage is almost twice lower. 2. Taking in consideration coverage the price of lenses as high as in other companies that didn't accepts insurance at all. So don't be fooled by prices of frames (they're just normal) and compare overall price of eyeglasses with other places. read more

Man. I'm shocked to see such low reviews. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Dr Yang was very thorough making sure my prescription was perfect, while pleasant and cheerful throughout. They hooked me up with samples to test lenses and then more while I waited for my lenses to arrive. I wish I would have taken the name of the lady who helped me order my lenses. She got me two different discounts I was eligible for. I was buying them anyway so this was a welcome bonus and great service. And the original person who helped me, Emmy, was very friendly as well. A Bad Receptionist! No one had called to notify with me that my vision insurance had problem until I came in, they said they couldn't pull my insurance info and asked me to call and get the insurance information from my provider. After I got all the info, the lady said I am late for my appointment and have to reschedule. The customer service needs to be improved and the receptionists need to check and notify the customer' s vision insurance is before the appointment. So customers can check before they and won't waste their time to come in for nothing during this pandemic. read more

Had a such a great experience with Dr. Yang and her staff. The eye exam was quick and painless and Dr. Yang was very thorough and personable. She explained everything she was doing to make me feel comfortable and gave me copies of my prescriptions. The sales associate Jessica helped me with ordering my glasses and contacts and she was just as great! She was knowledgeable about insurance coverages and help me pick the best items for what I needed (stayed within my insurance and budget). I ended up getting contacts, glasses, and sunglasses all in a days' trip! I recently got my eye exam for contact lenses as a first time client. everyone was welcoming and very reassuring since i was hesitant on using contacts. i was happy with the services up until it came time to reorder my lenses. I called about three weeks before my last set of biweekly contacts would be used. set up a home delivery and made what i thought was an over the phone payment with my credit card. left out of town for the weekend and didnt think of it much as they told me the contacts would arrive within 7-10 business days. two weeks went by and i still had not received my package in the mail. So, i decided to call them up to follow up. it turned out that for some reason my credit card information was not entered correctly and my contacts were never ordered. at this point i had no more contacts to wear for i don't know how long it would take the (expedited delivery) since it was an error on their part for not following up on the existing order. a week and a half later i finally get my contacts in the mail. after having to deal with work without contacts. I usually never write any yelp review but i though this would help someone else in the future, to double check on your orders for something that is important as your sight. read more

I rarely leave a review of my shopping experience but this is so appaling and I want to warn other potential clients: Do not ask to have your glasses adjusted here. I had scheduled an eye exam for May 2nd and before I could get to the doctor, I had some extra time, so I asked if I could have the glasses, which I bought at Target Optical before, adjusted, as they were getting a bit loose. The answer was yes, they could do that. But, unfortunately when popping out the lenses, they broke the frame. They said that it was at my own risk and they had no responsibilty for braking the frame. I could not believe it. I complained and did not accept it. So they called their manager who did not want to talk with me directly. So, I decided to leave and go somewhere else for my eye exam. I have called the store manager twice and asked for an explanation but she could not help because Target Optical is an indenpendent franchise. They promised that they would have Target Optical call back. They never did. So, I assume that is their policy which I find completely unaccetable and I will never go to Target Optical again. read more

I had a very wonderful experience with Dr. Nguyen. She was very thorough with my glasses and contact lens exams and answered all of my questions. I was diagnosed with diabetes last year and she asked questions to see how up to date I was with my diabetes/eye car, checked my eye health and she set me up with a dilation appointment. Office space is very neat and clean and although my contacts weren't in the office, she gave me a set that was very close to my prescription.
