They couldn't find the glasses we bought.
    Denise N.

This place is awful! It reminds me of ikea type of service. You pick a frame, sign in at the kiosk, scan the barcode for the frame, chat with a sales person about the cost, and pay them. Return within the hour and scan your receipt to open a locker to get your glasses. Seems a bit simple except if you have questions! Trying to figure out what colors or sizes are available was very challenging. There weren't any employees on the floor to help us. Someone took the display pair of glasses in the green color we wanted. They had one for sale, but they wouldn't allow us to open it or try it until we purchased it. Don't come here if you need transitions/bi-focals or anything cool. They have ala cart pricing and they do not take insurance. The whole experience took several hours and had we not really liked this pair of glasses, I would have taken my business elsewhere. Personally, I would never step foot in this place. They didn't check the glasses on my face to see if it fit right behind the ears. I walked around to buy time in case i needed the glasses adjusted. Ps: frames were $140. The lenses can easily be scratched. If you want transition/colored lenses, it's about $340 more. We got the frames and the lenses that were included. Also, There are requirements for kids under 18 which means they need polycarbonate lenses. Just give your business to another small business who is more deserving!

I scheduled an appointment here for an eye exam and also purchased frames and lenses here as well. For the appointment, the technician was 10 minutes. My appointment was at 10:15AM and the exam didn't finish until 11:20AM. The appointments are only supposed to take about 30 minutes but the technician was struggling to collect my information and taking pictures of my eyes with the machines. The technician gave me her phone number which I texted twice to get my receipt because she didn't give it to me during the visit and I need the receipt to submit an insurance claim but she never got back to me even though I see that she read my text messages since she has her read receipts on. If this review was just for the exam, I'd be giving it a 1 or 2 stars. For the frames and lenses, I like how Jins has a lot of frames that suit Asian faces. I found a pair I liked and the person at the front desk asked me which option I wanted for the lenses. At Jins, the price of lenses is $0 unless you opt for one of the specialty lenses. Since my prescription is really high and I am on the computer and phone a lot, I opted for the $380 lenses. Since the lenses are coming from Japan, I was told that I would receive my glasses in the mail in about 4 weeks and they don't charge for tax or shipping, which is nice

In a nutshell, this is a higher end glasses parlor where people can get handcrafted glasses from Japan. The styles and models are updated every few months as they are various types. From frames inspired by Japanese celebrities to simple nose frame customizable types. Along with a unique range of lens types for everyone. For the usual working professional to student who uses screens, you only need the basic blue light lens. Just be aware the prices can range 100$+ if you choose more stylish or upper level types? You have 30 days to come in again with an updated prescription if you need to get an eye appointment elsewhere, or pay... 90$ like I did after this length. The glasses are fine, I enjoy my pair as it's a modern feel. I am leaving 3 stars because the wait times are horribly long after 12pm. Plus the weekends..... man it's so long. Be aware this location is barely checks their emails or phone number for calls. They also do not listen or receive voice mails at all. ( I confirmed this myself ) Make sure to sort through the hassle before coming here to prevent any more delays. Based on your lens type. It can even take 2-3 weeks to ship from Japan...

    Everyone just hovering

I am normally a big fan of Jins, but this new ticket system does not work. First, there's no one on the floor to help whether to explain the new system or ask questions about frames. You go up to two iPads and select an option (Glasses, General Help, etc). There's no option for keeping your current frames and just updating the lens. So I picked General Help, waited an hour, just for the worker to give me a ticket for the Glasses line. Then I had to wait another hour to put in my order. So now I'm waiting 2 hours when I used to wait 20 minutes when they only had 1 line. If they thought this new system would make people leave and come back, then they are very wrong. People are just hovering (see my picture) around the front making it very tight. I don't want to give Jins a 1 star review, but this is unacceptable.

I've purchased two sets of glasses from this location in a span of six months (due to extreme changes with my rx). Their check-in process changed between September 2024 to February 2025. You now have to scan the QR code on the frames then follow the prompts to get added to the queue. They have an approximate wait time showing in the screen. For my case, I went there on a Saturday afternoon and waited about an hour and a half. I got a text when it was finally my turn. The process is super easy once you are ready to buy your glasses. Now this is where they lost the one star for me. The process is not so smooth when it comes to picking up your purchase. I was told to come back around an hour and scan my QR code on my receipt to pick up from the lockers on the right. I was in the area for the most part. I was waiting around to see if I was going to a get a text similar to the beginning, but nada. So finally my 1 hour came, I scanned my QR code to see if it would work and it did! One of the cubes in the locker opened! I think my glasses were easily ready for pick up much sooner than that 1 hour. I wish they would have been more clear if I could have just scanned directly in 30 minutes or making it clear whether I needed to wait fire a text or not. For the price of their glasses, these are super affordable! They have so many more options to choose from. The frames I saw were priced between $90 - $140. They had some that were $190 but were special themed ones --ie: "brand name". Overall, I would go back! Also for reference, I was able to get a pair in less than a day for a prescription of -10.00! You can't beat that!

I went in to get my eyeglasses repaired and Donovan(I hope I'm spelling it correctly) the store manager helped and provided exceptional quick service. The rest of the staff were very attentive and every time I've been they have been very helpful.

They don't. You need to file a claim to VSP yourself with the receipt provided by JINS.

Simple questions turn into hesitation, checking with multiple people, and inconsistent answers. It does not inspire much confidence when they do not even seem to know what things cost. Last year they ordered contacts for me and told me to come back in a week. When I called to check, they had completely forgotten to order them. No apology, just more waiting. After two years, this is clearly just how they operate. Always late, poor communication, and disorganized. If you value your time or expect basic competence, this probably is not the place. I have never seen someone handle glasses so carelessly like this asshole. Adjustments are the most basic but one of the most important services than an optician should be able to provide. Ask for one from him and instead of first examining how they fit on your ears to evaluate how he should approach the adjustment, he'll just grab your glasses and make you stand there awkwardly listening to his side conversations while your glasses sit too long in the heat machine. Assuming the plastic survives and makes it out of there without one of their fingerprints melted into it (happened to me in 2022 at this location), and they don't cause crazing in one of your lenses, he will proceed with suddenly and completely bending them back to straight as if starting from zero, then immediately forcing them back down to a typical angle. Don't know why the hell he felt like this was necessary or appropriate. He didn't even pay attention to how they sat on my ears in the place, which should be the starting point, then proceed to make slight adjustments incrementally. Everyone knows the more you manipulate and stress frames, especially acetate/plastic ones, the quicker they'll degrade. But he's over here bending them violently back and forth as if he's trying to break them on purpose. After all that abuse that first round, they ended up even more loose. I was totally astonished. When he asked for them back to go at it again, I just walked the fuck away. Totally incompetent and arrogant. When I got a chance to examine them later under some light after, they of course had signs of stress like microcracks along the bend (both plastic and inner wire). Don't trust just anyone with your glasses, especially when you rely on them heavily. Either way they are an expensive investment so don't take the chance.

While at my optometrist I was recommended Vision Eyeglass Repair at 1144 S Winchester Blvd, Ste D, San Jose, CA 95128 Upon arrival, I found parking to be a bit challenging as this is a house. There is good ADA parking on the driveway. All business is done through a modified front wood door with an access window cut into it. The grounds are kept very clean and the business appears to be run by an older man and woman. I had a short wait, as there were two customers ahead of me. I learned that he tries to repair while you wait. The lady assured me he would be with me soon. Five minutes later I met the gentleman and showed him my broken glasses. He told me they could be repaired but involved repairing the hinges and other items. He gave me a price quote-which I felt was very fair considering the damage. I'm sorry, but it makes no sense there's no customer service when they have at least 4 employees in the store. Y'all are not that busy. One of them was even using the table in the center to do a few push ups LOL. Really I don't understand this location except they have no customer service here. Literally don't know why they ignore me here because they did welcome other people coming in. Is it how I look? I already knew I was going to get the same glasses from last year and my prescription is the same. Easy sale, but I suppose they didn't want the sale. I've been in here for 15 minutes now and even sat on the couch to see if anyone would help, but nope. At least, I had time to write this review. I'm just going to walk over to their other store in the mall. Didn't even realize there was a Warby Parker there. Not coming back to this location again.
