I went through at least 5 different optometrists in the last 10 years. I have to say this place is the best. Definitely will come back again in 2 years and highly recommend this place for everyone.

If you want an appointment at any other time, you're out of luck for making appointments. I guess working for 2 hours a week is great if you can find it. Why bother advertising that you're open until 5pm or that you're open 6 days a week or whatever if it's just a lie? They engage in what I would call fraud, double charging you for evaluations you already had, although that may be "standard practice" in the United States, I'm not sure. Very, very overpriced and very slow for what they offer, but again that may be "standard practice" in the US and may just be the total nonsense you have to deal with from the "medical industry" here. Their appointment scheduling system is totally broken too, and constantly misfires, reminding you that you have an appointment at "midnight" and other nonsense. The doctor himself is nice, but the office staff are very rude, incompetent and low IQ.

She cares about her patients and if the staff is also a fan of the doctor / that says a lot. I have optical health included in my Kaiser plan but I come here to get my annual exam because I love it here -- it's also 3 min from my house - yes that helps but even if it was far- I'd drive there to see the smiling faces! I highly recommend Dr. Tammy Tran and Iris Vision Boutique for all your optical care…read more Dr. Tammy Tran is an excellent optometrist! We have been coming here since we moved to CA in 2005. Dr. Tran is highly trained, skilled, professional, knowledgeable, as well as genuinely kind and compassionate. Dr. Tran's thorough examinations detected a serious issue in my eldest son's eyes. She referred him to a specialist who's done several surgical procedures to correct the problem. This issue could cause blindness if undetected/untreated. We truly appreciate Dr. Tran's impeccable skill and knowledge, and care for our family. We come to Iris Vision for our annual eye exams, all of our eyewear, sunglasses, sports glasses, and contact lenses. The entire staff at Iris Vision has always treated our family with the utmost professionalism, kindness, and respect. We also love the wide selection of designer eyewear! We no longer live in Santa Clara but we continue to drive 60 miles to continue with Iris Vision as patients of Dr. Tran. We briefly tried new optometrists in our new town and it was a nightmare of unprofessionalism, unfriendliness, billing errors, and low quality, poor selection of eyewear. Never again! Thank you, Dr. Tran and Iris Vision Boutique, for your amazing service. We appreciate you!

I went in for a routine eye exam hoping to use my insurance toward prescription sunglasses. During…read morethe appointment, I was suddenly told there was "damage" to my retina and that the back of my eye was "flooded" and possibly always would be. I was also told I didn't actually have a vision problem, so insurance supposedly wouldn't cover sunglasses. Despite that, I was then sold glasses for computer work along with an extra $75 charge for a "special blue light" feature that was supposed to help slow the damage to my eyes. Between my out-of-pocket cost and what was billed to my insurance, the total ended up being much higher than expected. I also noticed "Calvin Klein" billed through insurance, which made no sense considering I had just been told insurance wouldn't cover glasses because I didn't need a prescription. I left the appointment extremely worried and was told to see a specialist. Looking back, there were a lot of red flags, but at the time I was scared something was seriously wrong with my eyesight. Two weeks later, after picking up the "GFBriller" glasses, I saw a specialist at Kaiser and was told my eyes are perfectly healthy. I was informed that blue light glasses are largely a marketing gimmick, and I now feel like I was manipulated into buying unnecessary products through fear and misinformation. Very disappointing experience, and I would strongly encourage others to get a second opinion before agreeing to expensive add-ons or diagnoses from this company.
