They have a strong sense of authority and do not accept doubts.
I went there for eye exam and potentially new glasses (but not going back anymore). 2 stars because they do have some good automation tools for eye exam and the nurse/technician lady on my exam day was super nice.
After that, the doctor took the eye exam on the lenses quickly. The main responses she needed from me is "which one of these two look better" and "read the text". No space for open-end questions. Clearly, she is doing her job efficiently, I feel super nervous and uncared for during the entire exam.
Her result to me was one of my eyes had an increase of 1.25 D within 1 year - which is a shocking result. I felt some strain on that particular eye after a long day of work but did not notice that much difference. The doctor told me if I want any change in prescription, I could come back within a month.
Per the doctor's suggestion, I was planning to get a new pair of glasses. I could not find the frame I liked in LensCrafters, so I went to another store, where their doctor also performed eye exam on me. The new result was that I did not have a prescription change compared to 1 year ago, and the strain I felt should be alleviated by other means like regular eye relief and proper practice.
Regardless, I still decided to get new frames and lenses just for a change of taste. Since I had got lenses from LensCrafters before in a different state, I still wanted to try get lenses at least from them. Hence I called back this store and asked whether I could revisit the results with the doctor.
Whoever answered me (not the doctor) was cold and aggressive, because I had another eye exam with another doctor. They kept saying I was doubting their doctor and told me not to waste their time. They "suggested" (with a stone cold and upsetting tone) me to get prescription lenses with the other doctor's results before bothering their doctor. LensCrafters doctor's "come back within 1 month if you want to change the prescription results" is just a lie, because they wanted to charge me the full price of another exam eye if I insisted to discuss the results with their doctor.
In conclusion, regardless of their professionalism (not enough data for me to judge), they need full authorities in examining your eyes, no questions asked, or you should be ready to be pissed off. I would suggest any fellows to use your money and insurance on other optometry providers. read more
