She made us wait way pass our appointment time to service those who bought luxury brand eyewares. My kids were in elementary schools at the time. They told me:"She hates us because we don't spend more money here." This is why we never went back. I can not trust a health care provider who loves money more than caring about patients health. It was really convenient living close by as kids, and we always had generally good experiences with Dr Choi and Tran. However, since they moved locations, I've noticed a huge dip in their customer service/selection. I recently went in because my glasses broke (purchased a year and a half ago at Focus). I made an appointment and arrived on time and waited a bit, then was told I could go look at glasses and someone would be with me. Soon, one of the associates arrived and she had a sheet for my insurance. I told her multiple times that I had new insurance under my husband, and I insisted on seeing that sheet as well. She got another girl to print it out and then barely explained anything to me before walking away to help another customer. Regardless of the insurance, I felt like I wasn't a customer that they cared about. Not one smile, how are you, how can we help you. Instead they talked down to me and had no empathy for the fact that this was the THIRD pair of focus optometry glasses that have broken in the past ten years. I ended up selecting a frame that was cute and one of the associates told me those were no good. I ignored her and went to a different associate and asked for a price. Without telling me the price she told me those frames were discontinued and they no longer make them. I asked why they were on display and she shrugged and said that's why she put them up higher so nobody would grab them. So I asked alright, can I see glasses similar to these then? And she immediately points me to a locked case of Tiffany and Co / Gucci glasses like girl I know what you're doing. I ended up grabbing my broken glasses and I just left. Over sixteen years of going here and I'm pretty sure I'll be finding a new optometrist.

As I was waiting inside we started the paperwork. Performed a few exams and waited for the Dr. The Dr is punctual, Friendly and performed eye exams that I've never recieved at any other place. Im very happy and satisfied with the eye exams. I chose safety glasses due to my Trade and was ready to purchase. When staff recommended that I contact my employer to check to see if they have a safety glass voucher. To my surprise we do! In good faith, without paying they told me to just come back once I received the voucher. I came back the next day with the voucher. Saved a lot of money and paid in full to Zoom. Until just a about 6 years back, I found him in Milpitas. I couldn't be more happy. His price is very reasonable. I can't speak for the products. But, if price is high, I don't have to buy it if I don't like it. So I don't get why people complaints about high prices and still buy the products. Just don't buy it. Problems solved. Overall, I love Dr. Ngo. He is very thorough, very personable and professional. My husband is also getting his eye check here as well. I would of bring my kids but they are covered from our health insurance in Kaiser. Otherwise, I would be more than happy to bring them here. I told her that it was way too much to have been through insurance. mind you, we called the office 15 minutes after she had purchased the glasses and walked out the door and tried to cancel the order for the $400 glasses, but they said that they had submitted it and it was too late nothing we can do. Well, the glasses came in and called to say that it was ready for pick up, but I called and said that we refuse to pick up the glasses because we are being overcharged. The optometrist, the gentleman said that we should've told them sooner. I said we called 15 minutes after my wife walked out the door. How was that not soon enough? He said it was too late, and to call VSP to see if we can refund and hung up the phone on me in the most frustrated way possible. How ironic, him telling us to call vsp to see if we can refund the glasses Definitely bit him in the butt. And so she called VSP insurance and they said that my wife should've only paid $238 out of pocket. we have been in contact with the insurance and they have been trying to get a hold of this optometrist to no success. They are dodging the insurance phone number to dispute this and have not gone back to them. The insurance has even gone so far as sending us a letter letting us know that they are trying to deal with this.
