Dr. Furlong took time to answer my concerns face to face even during my first / consult - this was probably a level of attention I didn't see anywhere else. Dr. Parikh performed my ICL surgery with speed, grace, and precision. His style is to talk to the patients to keep them informed at every step of the procedure to reduce tension. But, the chilled liquids are going to be the only bit of necessary unpleasantness. Even after the surgery, Dr. Parikh tended to my measurements and personally walked me to my ride so I can get home and recover. For checkups, Dr. Nguyen is a joy to chat with and Julia seems to be the reason everything runs like clockwork. I'm really grateful and impressed with the whole team. I'm a month after surgery and am consistently seeing 20/15 which means I catch myself staring at details in the distance I've never noticed before. Better than I expected and my highest praise for the whole Furlong team and their approach.

I've been considering to get Lasik surgery for a few years now. My last consultation (2-3 years…read moreago) from my eye doctor mentioned I still have to wait until my vision is stable. Dec. 2025 - I had my annual eye check up from Bella x Specs Optometry and I asked for facility recommendations and suggested Furlong Vision Correction. I had a pamphlet, looked them up and scheduled my complimentary consultation on 1/6/2025. 1/6/2025 consultation day - Jennifer was assigned to me and she was very helpful! I felt at ease that they werr giving a lot of information about my options and if I'm a candidate for Lasik surgery. Dr. Michael Furlong also checked in on my consultation day. Good news: I'm a good candidate to proceed with Lasik. I asked for potential payment options so I can prepare with the surgery cost. I applied for CareCredit financing and got approved. I then scheduled my surgery appointment on 1/30/2025. There were multiple pre-operative measurements I took to make sure I'm all set. The whole process was easy! I got nervous a few days before my surgery. It wasn't a good idea that I checked videos about Lasik. Anyway, I checked in with Jennifer and expressed my concerns and she addressed it very kindly. Day of surgery (1/30/2025): I followed the instructions I have and made sure I had a good rest. I took the sedative pill they offered so I can be more calm during the process. The actual procedure was fast and easy, thank goodness! Every step -- the doctors where there and they were informing me of what's happening. Dr. Furlong was present and checked my eyes after the procedure. I think it took less than 15 minutes. My vision was very hazy at first and that day, he suggested to sleep/rest as much as I can. Next day (1/31/2025): My initial post-operative appointment. I did have a very irritating itchiness in my right eye that subsided the next day. Again, following as much as I can with the post op activities really helped! Now, it's been almost 2 months. My vision is almost 20/20 though my left eye has -0.50 grade. I've been wearing corrective eyeglasses for 15+ years. My last check up before my lasik surgery was OD: -5.00 DS, OS: -4.00 -1.25 x 180. A huge change and I have way better vision now! I'm maintaning the preservative-free eye drops. My experience and lasik surgery with Furlong Vision Correction is a success! Thank you so much Dr. Furlong for ensuring my lasik surgery went extremely well! :) Thanks to Jennifer, Maeghan and the rest of your team for making it possible!

In February my vision started changing so rather than doing the whole eye exam, new contacts…read moreprescription & glasses I decided to check to see if I qualified for LASIK & get it done before I turn 40 in a few years! Some friends have had their LASIK done at the other location but I trusted them here as well. My bf and I drove down from SF for my free consultation where they checked my vision, if they were healthy, dilated my eyes. My pupils were huge, sensitive to the sun but man were things really saturated with color. Staff was very friendly & informative. I qualified for the SMILE LASIK - All-Laser, Blade-free, All-Femtosecond Laser, Painless & fast recovery & same results as LASIK. Soon after I was like alright I'm doing this & put down a $100 non refundable deposit. Scheduled an appointment in March where the procedure was $6950, -$200 for paying in cash & I had two referrals which I'm assuming is the max because I had 3 so brought it down to $5750. My parents brought me down on a Saturday where they did another vision test to make sure nothing had changed. I had not watch videos of the procedure & afterwards I'm so glad I didn't but once I knew what they did with one eye, I did start to feel a lil anxious but thank goodness they had given me a full Valium prior. My parents also got to watch & before I knew it I was done! I couldn't see comfortably & anytime I opened my eyes it would water & it was hard to do anyways so I just slept pretty much all day. They provide you with post operative prescription eyedrops to use 4x a day. After a couple of hours I started to be able to open them comfortably & I could see so much w/o my glasses! I had a follow up appointment that Monday where my bf took me & my eyes were looking good! Finally got to do my skincare & wash my hair. I needed to keep my eyelids cleaner because it was causing cloudiness with my vision. Eyes did get dry for a bit so using Preservative-Free, Artificial Tears helped. Would 100% recommend this place & for anyone that qualifies to do LASIK! Thank you to Dr. Joseph Ling & the team here!

The whole experience was incredibly smooth. Terry reached out a week beforehand for a virtual consult to walk me through the procedure and pricing. He was super transparent with the cost breakdown and made sure I was getting the best value. He even arranged for me to pick up my pre-op instructions and eye drops early so I'd be 100% ready for the big day. I ended up going to the Daly City location to fit their surgery schedule, so I just had to make sure I planned out my ride accordingly. On the day of, the consultation was very thorough. Honestly, the vision tests felt even more rigorous than my regular optometrist appointments (they had me reading very tiny letters and I had a hard time- but I guess that's good they were being as precise as possible). I was cleared for surgery soon after and they were even able to move my procedure time up, which was a nice bonus. Dr. Barrion was awesome. You can tell she has a ton of experience, and she walked me through exactly what to expect right before we started. Eye surgery can definitely feel a bit scary, but her reassuring tone kept me feeling pretty calm and safe throughout. It was not painful at all. The whole thing was done in about 10 minutes! As for the recovery, I was required to close my eyes for at least 4 hours immediately after getting home. It was a bit uncomfortable but overall tolerable, and the eye drops really helped. The turnaround was so quick that I was actually back at work the next day. My vision fluctuated a little during the first week, but it was still way better than my original eyesight. At my 5-day post-op visit, I was already seeing 20/15 in one eye and the other is nearly 20/20! I haven't had any dry eye symptoms, and while there's still some slight haziness around bright lights, the team assured me that should fully stabilize in a few months. It's already been such a massive improvement in my daily life. My only wish is that I did it sooner. Totally worth it!

I had LASIK surgery with Dr. Scott Hyver in 2016. One of the main reasons I chose his practice was…read morebecause of the Extended Care Program, which gave me confidence that if my vision changed in the future, I would have access to enhancements. About two years ago (2024), I noticed my vision starting to decline and contacted the office to ask about an enhancement. I was told my vision hadn't changed enough to qualify yet and that I would need to wait. Fast forward to now, and my vision has continued to worsen - especially my distance vision - to the point where it has begun affecting my ability to drive safely. When I contacted the office again, I learned that Dr. Hyver had retired, but I was reassured that the Extended Care Program is still being honored for his former patients. The process, however, has been frustrating. I was first instructed to see my regular optometrist for an updated eye exam, and then I was scheduled for additional testing at IQ Vision, which I had to pay for out of pocket. I'm not sure why these tests aren't covered under the Extended Care Program, especially since they're required to determine eligibility for an enhancement. I also didn't feel that the subjective refraction performed during my visit today accurately reflected my true prescription. At the end of the appointment, I was told that I might not qualify for an enhancement at all, or that they might only recommend treating one eye. While my left eye is noticeably worse, both eyes have declined since my original surgery, and correcting only one eye would still leave me struggling with the other. It's disappointing to have paid for additional testing without knowing whether I'll actually receive the enhancement that was a key reason I chose this practice in the first place. I sincerely hope this isn't a process where former patients are required to pay for evaluations only to be told they don't qualify. I'll update my review once I know the surgeon's final recommendation. Overall, the customer service has been good. My only negative interaction was when I was leaving after my appointment. Although the staff had already confirmed that I had paid, the front desk employee appeared skeptical and wanted to verify it again while I waited, which felt a bit uncomfortable. Overall: I'm reserving final judgment until I hear the surgeon's recommendation, but so far the experience has been a bit disappointing and costly than I expected, especially given the promises of the Extended Care Program that influenced my decision to have LASIK at Scott Hyver's practice.

Review of the Consultation Process…read more Communications were handled through email. I got referred to this place through my insurance and someone from their office reached out after to schedule my appointment and handle the intake forms. Checked in at the desk and filled out the intake form. The pdf e-form didn't get recorded for some reason. I'd recommend saving the file after you've filled it out and emailing it directly back to the staff. Not a big deal, took five minutes to redo it. Consultation process was chill. Just got my eye pressure measured by Faith, a series of eye scans by Carlos, and then an exam by their optometrist, Dr. Tran. Impressed at how comprehensive it was. Dr. Tran measured the range of my current prescription submitted. Just the standard stuff from a regular the exam. Cool witty personality, got through the quick and dirty process real fast. Next, I was walked to another room where I chatted with their patient counselor Jian and Dr. Scott Hyver on a Skype call for about 40 minutes to discuss my results, pricing, and options. Two weeks later, I had a 30 minute Zoom call with Dr. Robert Lin. Dr. Lin was super personable and we chatted through my charts, risks, process, and everything else regarding EVO ICL. While I didn't end up going forward with Dr. Lin and IQ, I had a great experience overall with their team. I'm sure it's a great spot to get your eye procedures done. Tip: check with your vision insurance on discounts. I got referred to this place through EyeMed and they offered a 15% discount. At the time of this review, there aren't any promos or discounts here separate from insurance.

I went to the optometrist for the first time since seeing him over 20 years ago. I'm 51 this year. Well, my vision is 20/20 (20/15 after Lasik). I'll been blessed to have such great vision for so long. Anyways, the Optometrist asked who my Lasik surgeon was and I told him Dr. Hyver. He said that the surgeon did one of the best jobs he has seen for a procedure done over 20 years ago and that's why my vision is still so good. He wouldn't have noticed I had Lasik if I didn't tell him. So glad I went with Dr. Hyver back then. Thanks Scott for all those years and the years to come!

But act now, and you'll get $48.00 off. Buy two eyes and your discount DOUBLES!" (Only a slight exaggeration.) We'll call this the tentative review. For those interested in getting LASIK or PRK with Dr. Newman, be aware that the Milpitas office is ... sketchy. For one, Dr. Newman himself isn't there. Two, the "used car salesman" that runs the topography tests and discusses financing is REALLY annoying. The French lady was a lot more tolerable, but she was using the same sales pitches. Having the two of them tag-team me felt exactly like one of those time-share scams. (Think hot cop, bald cop.) I'm not exaggerating. My friends are used car salesman. They do the same tricks, including the writing of the prices per eye (inflated from what I saw on Yelp! and other sites), minus the discount from the local news commercial (around $1,000, I believe), and then gives you your LOW, LOW PRICE! Inflate the price quote, inflate the discount, and bad mouth every other LASIK doctor in the area. Seriously? On the bright side, I did get to spend a lot of time with the cute eye doc who did the actual vision tests. She was pleasant, friendly, informative, and did not apply high-pressure sales tactics. There's a good chance I'll still go with Dr. Newman due to the reviews of the people that have actually met him, but I'm definitely going to check out the other LASIK docs first (and see if anyone else has the same admittedly-impressive tech in their lasers). I'm also looking into PRK, which has a longer recovery but doesn't carry worries about contact sports or martial arts. Meanwhile, my HSA funds sit untouched... Note: Apparently, my experience in Milpitas was the same as the one person who has reviewed the Daly City office.
