She studied my case, and said, I would like to spend more time with you. "Can you please come again?" I said OK. When I went the second time,... "She said, you have a condition that might self-correct. I don't want to prescribe prisms, without being absolutely certain. Let's wait another month, and re-visit.". Do not recommend. I brought my family here for eye care for several years. We stopped because the optometrist was rude and angry with us when we refused unnecessary services the insurance typically does not cover. She made us wait way pass our appointment time to service those who bought luxury brand eyewares. My kids were in elementary schools at the time. They told me:"She hates us because we don't spend more money here." This is why we never went back. I can not trust a health care provider who loves money more than caring about patients health. It's not about waiting, but about Alice's arrogance and treating patients not as human beings. She has a way to not own up for her attitude and actions. Stay clear!!! read more

Came in to get eye examine. First in like 3 or 4 years. Walk in because I was in neighborhood. Assistance at front desk was friendly and greeted me immediately. Very helpful with my questions about VSP and other insurance coverages. Dr Vu was professional, very nice and thorough with exam. Picked out my frame and chosed the special lense coating I wanted and needed (anti glare for outdoor activities like watersports). Definitely will be back and referring my family and friends. I came here last month for my vision check up. I call them for appointment and told them my vision insurance before I went in to their shop. I was waited a little bit to get called by Doctor Alice. We spent maybe 20-25 minutes for all the procedures to get done. She was nice and a good listener. She asked me some questions and gave me suggestions. Anyway, I spent $155.00 to get a new glasses with UV protection and anti-glare lens. The wait time for glasses to get ready is 3 weeks. This is really surprised me. Well, back in my home country, the new glasses will get ready within 3-5 days. I guess here is different. After I got my glasses, I wear it and was little uncomfortable because the glasses keep slipping down my nose within minutes. I went back to shop and Dr Alice was helping to fix it. I had an eye exam today at Landess optometry with Dr. Ellis Vu, she is very thorough and extremely professional. This place is very clean and has many good choice for frames. Front desk staff can be a little more better. I thought they could be little more cheerful and should at least make eye contact with patient. Bought some prescription sunglasses. The doctor is very friendly. My eye exam went seamless. Their selection of sunglasses is pathetic. The prescription reading glasses are better. I suggest you go to your favorite sunglass place and get the model number. While they have a very tiny showcase of sunglasses, they can make a lot more based on the model number. read more

Five stars not just because this is my boy, but because he will take good care of you. If you don't like Dr. Pham, I will fight you. Seriously, you should come here. The only thing I would even consider a downside to his place is that he carries almost exclusively high end brands like Burberry, Prada, etc. etc. I feel like a cheap ass bastard as I try to covertly check the prices on the frames. I recently came back to do another exam and get glasses. The Dr is still awesome. Less stars this time is because the front desk ladies are pretty much your typical Vietnamese ladies. They remind me of the nail salon ladies with bad customer service. Gossiping and chatting and all of the above. They were pretty unless too. I asked questions about lens type and options and their answers where things I could have an educated guess. I also asked for clarifications on benefits (since the lingo is so complicated) and the lady snapped at me with yet again the Vietnamese tone. I came back because Van B had a good experience last week and my experience was awesome the last time I was here. Although the Dr is pretty cool and she knows her stuff, I will probably not go back again and find another office in the endless phone book. She did recommend that I wear these fake sun glasses after my eyes got dilated - thank you!!! I try to avoid these types of places because as a customer, I expect at least a nice and welcoming environment to pour my wallet out. read more

I've seen a lot of optometrists in my life, and Dr. Pham is one of the better ones. I'm glad my mom decided to make him our optometrist a couple years ago. He's very friendly and answers as many questions as you'd care to throw at him. He also explains everything from the inner workings of your eye to your insurance coverage pretty well. I'd never heard him speak in Vietnamese until today, but he apparently serves the Viet-speaking population as well! The waiting/frames area is always well-kept, and his young (teen-twentysomething) secretaries and staff are sweet, even when their English isn't 100% fluent (this only happened to me once, and she got Dr. Pham to sort things out). He's got a decent selection of frames (a lot of nice higher-end ones especially) and makes sure you understand the customization options. The teenage receptionist at the front desk was the one who helped me pick out my red Juicy Couture frames. She was pretty blunt, but I have to admit she had good taste. read more

Been coming to this location for a couple years now and I've always loved the service here. Recently got check up here after 3 years of avoiding the doctor. The exam was quick and easy. The optometrist was extremely friendly and easy to understand unlike my past eye doctors that had a thick Vietnamese accent. The eyeglass frames are decent prices for the brands that they carry here but I didn't purchase any from this location. I just used my old frames instead to save some money. Glass frames took about 6 weeks to be finished since it was done there. Highly recommended! read more

Long-term Customer UNSATISFIED! My family have been attending this optometry for over 5 years now. In the beginning, the service was remarkable and outstanding. However in recent years, the staff seem much younger, rude and inexperienced! My insurances have been changing due to work issues. Like an earlier review, I have to agree that this office has no integrity in terms of customers and insurance. This office DOUBLE CHARGES YOU. My kids and I are under Medi-Cal, therefore there are certain glasses for me to choose from. Once I chose one, they CHARGED me for that frame by requesting I pay more for it. Also, my son's eyesight has gotten worse, but I am not allowed to make a eye-checkup until next year. Therefore I am very upset with Landess Optometry and their recent declining customer service. 2 weeks ago, my kids and I went to another optometry also on Landess and they provided me with excellent service and called my insurance to ask if they can give me a check up. It only took 10 min and my son got his glasses which was fully covered by my insurance. It made me wonder why this optometry could do it, but why not Landess Optometry? Very disappointed in Landess Optometry. Future customers please be on alert. read more

This office dishonest to customer and insurance. I have 2 insurances cover. After eyes exam, this office did double charge. They tried to charge me deductible on 2nd insurance and billed exam twice on two separate insurances company. Office charged me addition cost for AR or non-glare coatings, but it doesn't do it. When I called to office, a guy answered phone is very rude and unprofessional when he went over my order. I will report to insurance company about these issues. read more

Service here is excellent! They have a lot of glasses choices and many of them are brand name. Some of the brands they carried are Tiffany, Gucci, Prada, Oakley, Ray ban, and Versace. The workers here are super friendly and you could count on them in helping you pick out the right glasses. Overall, 5 stars. LOL read more

I've been here twice now for my yearly eye check up and I like this place! I see Dr. Vu who is very awesome and has beautiful eyes. She helped me pick some really comfy Air Optix contacts and let me try on some color samples, which was fun! I had my old eyeglasses re-lensed here and very happy with the quality. The receptionists was friendly and helpful. My brother got his first pair of glasses here without an appointment and the process was really speedy. He received his order just before school started, he was pleased. The optometrists was quite knowledgeable about contact lens brands and suggested me a different brand. I'm quite happy with my new brand of contacts. One negative The selection is a little small but it's a small store so you can't blame them. Overall a good neighborhood optometrist. I've been here since 2008 and I don't think I'd ever want to switch optometrists. It's a little far from home but nothing too crazy. (If you can drive from SJ to D&B or GMALL, it's not too far to get your eyes checked). So every single time I'm here, I ask a bunch of crazy questions about the machinery and why I have to do certain tests. Like, what does this test tell you about my eyesight? The Dr. always answers everything for me and she seems thrilled to do so. I feel super welcome, my glass prescriptions are always on point, and everything always comes in on time. The receptionists are nice and mindful and ever-changing. I don't think I've seen the same girl more than once. Sometimes, they'll start talking to me in Vietnamese and when I respond [fluently] they'll switch back to English. That confuses me a little bit but it doesn't bother me at all. They have a pretty good selection of glass frames and I always look but I've only ever gotten a pair of ray bans from them and I've stuck to contacts otherwise. My glasses have never been so clear and fitted to my eyesight in my life (I've been to a number of optometrists and have needed sight correction since '96). I haven't seen an optometrist in about 2 years or so and I don't remember my last experience being to pleasant back in my home town. So being in a new city I decided to Yelp some places and called a head to make sure they would accept my insurance and they did!. First I want to say that I called about 3 other offices and they were all booked for at least 2 days (understandably so) or so. when I finally called this place it was a breath of relief when they said they could take me in today. Right when I got there I was able to put my information in seeing how It was my first visit. 2 minutes passed after I put my info in when I was taken in by the doctor who was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions including the dumb ones. She took the time to make sure I had the best options to my disposal and the receptionist took the time to not only open the cases to see the frames but also helped me pick one that looks good and also something I would love. Overall had an awesome experience and I can comfortably say I found my regular spot after one visit. read more

My younger brother bought the prescriptive eyeglass in this store. However, he realized the eyeglass is not fitted well on his face so I assisted my brother to have it exchanged to another frame. However, we didn't pay attention on their returns policy. They would not accept the exchange or return frame more than 14 days. Then, after few days we received a call from the doctor and he would like to deal with the issue and satisfy the customer. Therefore, my brother got a new eyeglass that he likes because the doctor is really nice and understand the satisfaction of the customer. I definitely recommend the Landess Optometry. Recently i just went here for a regular check up. Ended up with a new pair of prescription glasses, that i don't need, and bought myself a new pair of Maui Jim sun glasses..which is very nice. I came back couple of weeks later because there is a tiny, little scratch on the lens, hoping they could help. This is what i got.."Once the item is out of the door, sorry sir, but we can't do anything." What kind of customer service is this? I just spent almost $200 there, not including the insurance money that they got from my exams. They didn't even bother to take a look at that tiny scratch which turned out to be nothing but dirt. Yeah i went home and clean it myself. Yeah and the receptionists there are so very nice at first, but after they got my money, things changed lol....i should have known this lol. After all there was one person who was exception nice was Hien, one of the receptionist there. Very friendly and nice. The rest...oh my god..never come back again and so is my whole network both at work and around town. read more
