I use to love this place but every time I come back it seems to deteriorate more. Please understand this isn't about service , it was good. Food was good also. My two complaints are one price. For me and my wife and 3 girls it was over 75 dollars. Only two got drinks. My other complaint is the place is nasty. Holes in the wall, sink in men's bathroom falling off the wall, no soap in bathroom, storage room open with product scattered all over the floor. In addition to all this as you walk in the door it looks like they had sweep the floor and just pushed it out the door. To top all this off the place smelled like sewage as you walk in. If this is a franchise then the owners don't place cleanness high. Sorry this was/is my kids favorite place but for me I have to get them to get alternative. Hands down the worst experience I've ever had at a Genghis today. The place was absolutely filthy and I mentioned it to two of the employees, who just shook their heads and acknowledged how bad it was. It took 50 minutes to get a to go order. First time ever going to Genghis Grill. My husband took me and I was so confused! I did enjoy the ability to mix and match as much as I want for one set price. The food was good. The service was good. I mixed and matched a lot of proteins because I'm not much of a veggie person. It's also nice that they have lunch prices too! Great first time experience. Love this chain, especially this location! The amount of choices to create your own stir fry meal is wonderful! And the fact that you can watch your food being made is a plus! This location is clean. The staff are very friendly. I've never had a bad experience here. The bowls are a little pricey, but for the quality of the food and service it's well worth it. Went for lunch today with my daughter. When we arrived there was only one other table. First I'm on crutches and the hostess proceeds to sit us the furthest away from the selection bar. So because of that we order off the menu. When our waiter asked for drink order we asked for water. 20 minutes later we asked him where our water was he said in the cooler. After he take our food order we waited and waited. We watched the place fill up and people getting their food who got there long after us. We finally got up our waiter was standing right there and didn't ask us why we were leaving, guess he knew. I passed our hostess who sat us that we were leaving and to tell our waiter. She asked why and if we wanted to speak to the manager. I just said no we spent too much time waiting on service and that everyone got their food before us and we were there at least 40 minutes before the last person arrived that got their food. read more

Just ordered to go food from them for my mom and I and they got our order all messed up. We usually enjoy their food but the past couple times we've done to go our food ends up cold. My moms order was full but mine barely was barely half way full. It was full of meat and barely had any vegetables. They put sauce on it which was not asked for. My mom received vegetables and such her dish she did not ask for. I'm extremely upset with this business and sad to say that we will not be eating here anymore. read more

I have always recognized the greatness of Genghis Grill-and it's even better when you are starving. I hadn't stopped at this location and thought that ending a road trip was as good an excuse as any. I was not disappointed! This location is right on the lake-a big plus if you are planning activities around some time on the water. It is very clean and lots of natural lighting. It has a full bar. What's not to like? One thing that I like that they didn't used to do at Genghis-they give you a number and bring your bowl to the table-no more standing waiting for the bowl. It was neat to watch them make your food the first time-but if you eat 4 or 5 bowls it could become tiresome. I think they had to move away from that so they could use the smaller spaces they seem to be employing in the new stores without causing a fire hazard. At any rate the food was fresh and the selections plentiful, as always, and I savored my creations. They have lunch prices all the way until 4 pm-even on weekends so this is a very nice lunch at an affordable price(8.99 for one bowl, 10.99 for unlimited). The main concern here, and this does scare me..was that my whole family had extremely undercooked pork come back in our bowls after the cooking process. Clearly pink! Pink on the outside of some pieces, RAW pink meat...I'm sorry but gross! We sent it back for a second cooking and once again the pork came back with pieces pink in the middle. The cook was offended that we said it was undercooked and he asked the waitress if we'd like for him to burn it! Nah, how about you just COOK IT RIGHT so we can safely consume the meat! This was at 2pm, not a lunch rush at all. That alone is enough for me to NEVER GO BACK. Not to mention the Manager, being so busy at 2pm, not once came by to apologize or see if there was anything he could do. The one plus in this place was our waitress. We are planning to move to Rockwall soon, and while visiting the area we stopped for dinner at the Genghis Grill. It was so good! I was looking for less carby alternatives for dinner, and this was a great choice! Lots of protein and vegetables to choose from. You could probably leave the sugary sauces off if need be, and have your selections stir fried with only oil and soy sauce. I liked having the cabbage alternative for rice and noodles, too. They should also consider offering cauli-rice, made from crumbled cauliflower. I thought the food we selected to have grilled was delicious, and cooked perfectly. The service was exceptional. Well be back! It's nice to find a healthier option restaurants that don't strictly serve meat and potatoes, buns and fries, beans, rice, and tortillas, or pasta and bread. We will be back! read more

One thing that I love about Genghis is they are consistent no matter which location you go to. I have been to one in Rockwall, Austin and San Antonio and they are all freakin awesome! They always have the best selection when it comes to meat. Fiesta lime chicken, sliced beef, marinated steak, crab, scallions, white fish, etc. Their staff is always helpful if you can't decide on a particular flavor and the place is always clean which is very surprising considering you serve yourself and those bars can get a little messy. If Mongolian food is your thing I can promise you that you will not be disappointed with Genghis! read more

The service was appalling. The food presentation was embarrassing. Most of the sauces were 20%full and thrown everywhere it was messy and at one point there was no employees to be seen. This is on a Friday at 8pm. Will drive to mesquite next time. read more

Normally, I love this place. I've never had any issues, but today the service was horrible. There were maybe two tables filled in the place. Very slow. You would think that you would have excellent service since you pretty much have the whole place to yourself. Not the case here. The hostess walks towards us as we walk in, but she didn't smile or greet us. She says," I'll be with you in a minute." Grabs something behind us and walks away towards another table and starts talking to them. You would think their waitress/waiter would be 4attending to them, but there were none to be seen. She finally comes back and shows us to our seats. We wait a while before someone finally shows up and asks for for our drinks. We sit down, waiting for our names to be called so we can get our food. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and I finally found all the waiters and waitresses. They were all huddled up talking, in their own world. Not one acknowledged me and continued their conversation. As I walk back to my seat, a different waitress shows up and hands us our food. From there, our initial waitress comes back and hands up extra napkins. From there, we were on our own. No one comes back to refill our drinks or check up on us. We had to wave a waitress down, as she was walking to God knows where. She wasn't attending anyone. Finally our first waitress shows up with our checks and we leave. The food was great, don't get me wrong. Service on the other hand, is a whole different story. read more

Absolutely dreadful. Used to be my favorite spot to eat, would never mind making the hr long journey from my hometown to Rockwall just to get my Genghis fix but this place is just run down now. Prices went up astronomically and the food is just bland. The floor seemed to be mopped with sweet tea and I still can't get the sticky floor gunk off my shoes. Not to mention the bathroom smelled like mold and it was 50 degrees in the restaurant. So very disappointed. Will not be passing go, will not collect $200 read more

Came here in the past and it's Small, Medium and Large bowls. Small serving for the price so we stopped coming. They switched to bottomless bowls so we returned. Came again and they switched BACK to Small, Medium and Large and did away with bottomless bowls. We will not be back to Ghengis, we never know what to expect. read more

I love this place because I can make a chicken pad thai imitation when I'm in the mood for it. Fill your bowl full of chicken then pile on cabbage until you can't fit anything else. Sprinkle on bean sprouts, green onions, and grab two eggs. Fill your sauce cup up with their red curry peanut sauce. Nom nom nom. I go back and get more sauce after it's cooked and peanuts. Ask for noodles. The last time I went their chicken was very very tough and chewy and I didn't get very many noodles. I don't like this location as much as others I've been to. It's a bit small and crowded feeling but it's not terrible. It's a great place for my vegan husband to pig out at. Very vegetarian and vegan friendly. read more

Been here many times. Past two times were horrible. One time we had to walk out after waiting 20 minutes and no one acknowledging us even being there. This past time were seated and the waiter that we were told would be waiting on us passed by multiple times before acknowledging us (about 15 minutes). The food did not look fresh. Needless to say will not be back to this location. We will drive the extra few miles and go to Mesquite. Have never had a bad experience there. read more

The service was great awesome bowls if you haven't been here try it out! It's unique and different by different I mean you make your own bowl of stuff and the buffet table is all raw so you give what you want in your bowl to the chefs and they cook it all on this circle grill that is like 400degrees so it cooks quickly and your server will bring you your food :) I reccomend the flavored teas :) the strawberry tea is awesome and if you ask you can take it to go! read more

this place was good initially; however, my recent visits have not been so stellar. The past few times I noticed the seafood seemed bad as the other meats and vegetables also looked past their due..they looked old NOT FRESH. I also noticed the presence of small flies. I also noticed that the bowls have gone smaller. The food was good but the waiting staff is extremely slow and it seems they are the oblivious waiters also. They had 2 waiters and a manager working and at most 10 people in the restaurant. And our waiter saw and acknowledged that he was going to get me som more of my drink but it he kept walking back and server all times be fore I had to remind him that I needed a refill. I'm only giving 1 star because I can't give 0. We have ALWAYS had issues with this Genghis Grill, but keep returning only because our daughter loves it and it's healthy food for her. The service here is always horrible and our last visit on March 14th was no different. My family ALL requested tortillas and none of us received them. My husband and I never got refills of our water, though we asked many times, and our daughter only got a refill of her drink because we demanded it. Many other requests were either ignored or given only because we asked many, many times, I suppose this visit was at least better than the one during which no waiter/waitress helped us AT ALL (true story)! I'm amazed that this place is still open and would not recommend it to anyone! read more

My family and I have been regular diners at this Genghis. In the past service and food was great. We were there this past weekend and received horrible service and my son's bowl was burnt. No one was helping us so when I asked to speak to a manager they pointed to a girl behind the grill and said she was to busy to talk to me. Very rude and unattentive people. The manager behind the grill looked ticked off so my husband decided not to approach her. Don't think we will be back. read more
