We were extremely impressed and pleased with the service provided by Anthony and the Gebhardt service team. They understood our need for a timely warranty repair necessary for safe travel, and smoothly worked us into their busy pre-holiday schedule, keeping us fully informed and performing in the time frame they predicted. This dealership did everything it could do to contribute to BMW's reputation for excellent service. read more

I like this BMW dealership! They are always friendly, and do as they say. One time my bmw didn't start (dead battery due to multinational of the key), I called them and one of their service guys came to take a look at the car and fixed it. They do complimentary car wash on Saturdays! Not very thorough, but man, they do it! read more

Fraudulent BMW auto sale! After the sale I was asked to come in and resign the paperwork "because of a typo." When I resigned the extended warranty the top copy given to me was checked 6 years/100k miles, but the carbon was checked 3 years/50k miles. Three years later, when I presented the original signature paperwork signed by Gebhardt staff, the owners refused to honor it. We settled, but there was never an apology or explanation. Somehow the customer/victim became the enemy. I was very surprised and disappointed that Gebhardt is now in the category of just another (high end) car dealer using trickery to squeeze dollars out of a customer. Yuck! read more

Bought a new electric BMW i3 here after talking with three Colorado dealerships and one New Mexico dealership. Gebhardt was professional throughout the sales process, providing all pricing and purchase and lease terms in emails that I could understand. They listened. On purchase, paperwork was in order and purchase took 20 minutes. Our visit and drive with BMW genius was helpful. Contact since for in-home charger and clear bra have been handled efficiently and, always, courteously. Couldn't ask for a better sales and service experience so far. read more

If there was a way that I could mark "more than five stars" I would do so. It was a stellar experience. Bill was personable, quick, and quite funny. It was just an oil change, but I felt like I received the royal treatment from the moment I walked in the door until I left. Quite pleased. read more

An important factor in choosing an automobile dealer - especially when buying a high-end car like a BMW - is the quality of their service. Gebhardt has the most incompetent BMW service department I've ever encountered. I've owned BMWs for over twenty years. I bought my latest (a 2014 X1) from Schomp in Denver. A year later we moved to Boulder. When I first took my car in for service, I was astounded at the difference. Their procedures for handling incoming customers are completely inadequate (avoid the morning rush at all costs - you'll be left standing in line for a half hour or more). Later, when I had issues with the charging system and battery in my X1, their attitude just floored me. Not satisfied with their suggestion that the answer to my problem was to plug my two-year-old car into a trickle charger each night, I took it to another shop and had the battery tested on a proper battery analyzer, which showed that it was defective. Back to Gebhardt, where they told me that they didn't have a battery analyzer, but the car's internal computer said the battery was fine. I finally bit the bullet and made the long drive back to Schomp, where they tested the battery with the proper equipment, determined it was defective and replaced it without argument. I won't bore you with the details, but this was just one of a number of incidents that made it obvious that the Gebhardt service department is staffed by people who don't know their you-know-what from a hole in the ground. They're especially bad with problems related to newer technology. A problem with my USB port, for instance, was diagnosed by a technician who first had to have me show him where the USB port was. Anything more complicated - such as issues related to changing settings on the car's computer - has proved to be completely beyond them. To add icing to the cake, their waiting room is uncomfortable and poorly maintained. Once, when I asked why there were no diet sodas available, I was told that "we don't buy new stuff for the refrigerator until everything is gone". I know, that sounds petty, but when you pay the kind of money that you do for a BMW, you expect better. I'm surprised that BMW corporate allows Gebhardt to continue representing them. Since we're planning to remain in Boulder, this will be my last BMW. A dealer as bad as Gebhardt can just ruin the entire experience of owning a Beamer. read more

Gebhardt's service department is superb. Everyone is so friendly. It really is comforting when everyone greets me by name. It is like family. Joel handled my issues with efficiency and explained the things I did not understand. Now I know what to expect over the next year. Thank you. read more

I bought a pre-owned Ford Edge for $8500 for my college aged daughter from Gephardt BMW and after only driving 4000 miles, mainly highway, the brakes failed after 3 weeks and then a total engine failure. We towed the car back and they said while there was no extended warrantee they would help us get back on the road.. I was initially encouraged by this. After one month of emails back and forth by Tom Gephardt, Wade (General Manager) and JC the sales man they "offered" to replace the engine for $5500 OR they would buy the car back from us for $4000. That's right, $4000 !!!! The third option was to use the $4000 as a credit to buy another car from them ! This situation has left a full time college student who also works full time in senior home health care (during COVID) without a car for over a month and having to rely on public transportation in and around Boulder. Bottom line is this dealership clearly doesn't check their preowned cars before they sell them and only cares about their bottom line and NOT customer satisfaction and building a future customer base. Would we ever go back there and buy a car.. no way ! read more

I put a deposit down to purchase a new BMW and then asked for a test drive. When I showed up for the test drive, I was told that the car was no longer available. No call, no apology. I got my deposit back immediately and went to Winslow BMW in Colorado Springs to purchase the car. A couple months later, I received a call from the "new new car manager" that my car was ready for pickup. I left a message for the GM, but he couldn't be bothered to call back and asked the new car manager to call. A truly unbelievable experience. I would avoid this dealership. Purchase your car elsewhere. read more

It was a nightmare. I had already done all my research and test drove other cars. I found this car online. I called, verified some info, & made my offer. I drove an hour and a half to sign the papers and get my car but the heat wouldn't come on... so I left the car there. It took them a month to fix the heater. They said they would pay my first car payment as compensation for my inconvenience. I thought Ok great. I got the car after a month, but still haven't received the first car payment as promised. I can certainly afford my own car payment, but how disappointing. The sales team made me feel like a sale, not a valued customer. I have purchased vacuum cleaners and was treated better. Another thing (petty as it might be) that bothered me and reinforced the "sale" feeling, was when they delivered the car, it wasn't clean on the inside, it wasn't clean on the outside and the gas tank wasn't full. But I'm not a customer, I'm just a sale. So that's what you get. To end on a good note, the service manager Rudy was very responsive and helpful in fixing my heater problem. And he was the only one who has followed up to make sure the heat is still working. read more

I don't know about the sales experience since we bought our BMW in another state. It may be great, who knows. The service experience was not so great. We were expecting the same concierge level of service, attention to detail, and communication skills that we enjoyed at our original BMW center. Long story short, no one was particularly bad at their job but it didn't feel like a BMW dealership. I guess we've been spoiled. read more

Two problems with my BMW. A brake light was out and I noticed a bit of shaking in the steering wheel. (Was on a business trip and hadn't drive the car for three weeks.) Took the car in and was told that I needed to replace the entire rear light unit as the contact was burnt. Similar to an experience I had with Boulder Toyota where I was told I needed to have my radio removed to fix a non-working radio, I then went to my local auto parts store. The person there took out the light, tested it (it was still working), scraped off the contact, and put the light back in and, voila, the brake light was back on! Charged me nothing and saved me $180. The Toyota - problem was a fuse, and no need to pull the radio. The fuse was a couple of bucks. The steering problem - was never directly addressed. Something about the drive shaft possibly causing the vibration. Was also told I needed new front brakes, the rotors turned, and would cost a $1000 to do. I took the car to the place where I get my tires. They put the car up on the rack, checked everything and found no problems. Told me drive the car for about 20 miles and the steering problem was gone. They said the problem was probably a fit of a flat spot on one of the tires since the car hadn't been driven for three weeks. For contrast, I was in the Pacific NW and had noticed a slight pulling to the right in the BMW. I was anxious about going to the BMW dealer because of my experience with Gebhardt, but the folks at Northwest BMW were absolutely fabulous. They diagnosed the problem as the ball joints and replaced them and gave me a loaner 5-series to use for two days. They noted the rear brakes were getting a bit thin, but did not recommend that I needed to replace them at the time - perhaps in a half-year. Whenever I take my cars into a Boulder dealer, I always get a second opinion. Misdiagnosis or lack of knowledge seems to be rampant. read more

By far the best BMW dealership I have been to! I took my car in for service and all of the advisors/techs I spoke with were great. The service itself was fast and the work was very professional. If their sales department is even half as good as the service department, this might be the best BMW dealership in the US! read more

Unfortunately we had a bad experience with their service and it may be due to their online process. I scheduled a final warranty service on our 2011 328i, made the drive in rush hour with two cars, only to find out we were 3 days past our expiration and they would not service it. We may not have minded so much, but that drive is brutal. It would have been nice to get a call from someone indicating that the car was no longer covered. We intend to do a trade-in, in 6 months, this dealership will not get our business. read more

Below is an email I sent in response to an apology for a complaint. I paid about $3k for a 750i XDrive BMW warranted vehicle that when taken in only had a low key battery warning. The issue wasn't that I had to pay for the repairs the issues are listed below, please keep in mind the only warning light that was going off was a low key battery light: 1) I phoned in and was told the ibutton was under an extended BMW warranty and I had a recall so just bring it in. 2) I took the vehicle in and was told I did not have a BMW warranty and I was due an oil change (even though my last oil change was less then 2k miles old) and there was a recall. 3) I debated with your service rep for about 5 minutes with him repeatedly telling me "if" I had a warranty it was an outside warranty and I would need to find their name and number and he would phone them for a credit card and if not they would give me an estimate on the ibutton. 4) When I would not accept his response that I did NOT have a warranty and made him look through his paperwork again he found I indeed did have a BMW extended warranty and the ibutton would be covered. 5) While walking to the loaner car person the service guy said," Its good you have the warranty because if we find an oil leak or anti-freeze leak we will just take care of it." 6) I was phoned later in the day that I needed new air filters and the cost would be about $300-$600 which I was ok with and said ok. 7) I was then called and told that there was an anti-freeze leak in the turbos and the line needed replacing. I asked if it was under warranty (as he has said it would be earlier in the day). His response was no it is not a pressurized line so it is not covered. I agreed to replace the lines as the car was already torn apart and he said if we did it now it would save about $1400 in labor. 8) I was later phoned that the oil lines to the turbos were clogged and the turbos were not getting the right oil pressure due to lack of oil the cost of a repair would be around $1400 bringing my total owed to plus $3k but he would work on the price. Once again I was told we should do the repair now to save the labor, so I agreed. 9) Lastly I was phoned and told one turbo was not registering the right oil pressure and I should think about wholesaling the car as a BMW 5 series was just brought in with the same problem and he wholesaled the car to the dealership. I said no and I am not replacing a turbo that was running fine before I took it in and to just put my car back together. I hope you can see why I am upset, I took a car that had a recall and a warranty in to be serviced and was told I didn't have a warranty, I had anti-freeze leaks, oil leaks, and I abused the car so much by not getting the oil changed I almost blew a turbo and was influenced to wholesale my car. As an fyi, the car had an oil change at 55,193 miles when I took the car in it had another 1000 miles to go before another oil change was needed. I have the parts from my car and do not see any clogs in the oil lines that would cause a turbo issues and I have never had a check engine light come on in the car. I am very close to shipping these part to BMW of North America and asking them test them. In closing I would expect this type of service from a neighborhood mechanic or a low end car lot but not from a BMW service center. My expectation is that the service person would be honest from beginning to end and look up all the information on the car before arguing about a warranty. These cars are over engineered to tell exactly when the car is not running at optimum performance and not once did I receive a warning from my car yet I was asked to wholesale it. read more

Went to three dealerships but no one could fix the problem with my 2014 528i. It was intermittent and never seemed to happen when I dropped it off at the shops. Mark was great and did a fantastic job in making me feel I was in good hands. They some how replicated the problem and had it repaired that same day. On top of that, it turns out the work was covered under warranty and I didn't have to pay a cent for the work. My wife is looking to upgrade next month. No doubt they will be the first dealership we visit. Many businesses would benefit from following this company's model. Friendly, dependable and professional. Keep up the good work Gebhardt. read more

Excellent service - Stephan keeps me abreast of the progress throughout the day. It's nice to come back to a fixed - and clean(!) car.

I've had great experience here with service, so I can recommend Gebhardt for that. But, I am relatively shocked at many of the 4 and 5 star reviews I read here that are for buying a car at Gebhardt. Based on my experience, I can only conclude that people are just ignorant about the local alternatives, or they have so much money they just don't care about paying higher prices. Folks, Gebhardt is a typical dealership where you have to go in an haggle over prices - or alternatively you don't haggle and pay a higher price. Schomp on the other hand, deals in volume and that is why they are a "no haggle" dealership. Their sales people do not work on commission so if you come in just to look it makes no difference to them. Buying or looking, either way they get the same paycheck. They gave me a low price right away over email. Yes, over email!.......no games no, "what are you looking to spend". Whereas, I had to drive down to Gebhardt and play the age old price game. What a waste of my time. In the end I paid $3000 less at Schomp than the price asked at Gebhardt. I could not get Gebhardt to match Schomp. Based on these reviews I guess I can see why Gebhardt sales people don't bother to be competitive with their pricing. If you are looking for a BMW, do yourself a favor, don't take my word for it, just spend 5 minutes to call or email Schomp and I would be surprised if you do not have a similar experience. In addition, Murray BMW in Denver is also supposed to be a volume dealer as well but I have not purchased from them. Buy at Schomp, get service at Gebhardt, that's my recommendation. PS - I'll bet that someone at Gebhardt takes time to refute this post with made up sales nonsense. Don't be fooled, take 5 minute to check other dealers. Murray or Schomp, they will give you a price right away over the phone. read more

This place is trouble. I bought a used Lexus from these guys that was in 'great shape.' When I took it to my mechanic two days later I was informed that the car needed close to $5000.00 in repairs. Additionally I had to replace a headlight that was out literally the night I bought the car. 30K service on our 428XI. Tech left oil filler cap off and oil was spilled out all over the engine compartment. Dealership swore up and down the vehicle was fine. After a month of asking them to back that with an extended warranty, they agreed to extend the warranty through 100K. We asked for this in writing and the service mgr swore there was nothing he could give us, but when the vin was checked the warranty would be there. Another BMW dealer was called to verify what we were told and the added warranty was only 75K. After many phone calls and a month of leaving voice mails, we were told that this was more than reasonable, even though we were told something different. Unfortunately I had a recent bad experience when I tried to purchase a new car at Gebhardt BMW. I should mention that I have previously purchased or leased two other vehicles from this dealership. I have also continuously owned a BMW since 2003. First of all the salesman was inexperienced and poorly trained. I knew more about the vehicle that I was interested in than he did. After agreeing on a vehicle, I asked about the cost of winter floor mats. The salesman told me that they were $250. I was then turned over to the sales manager. He not only failed to correct the salesman about the cost of the floor mats, when I asked to have the floor mats included for free in our already negotiated price, he informed me that they couldn't do that because they were not making any money on the vehicle. I told him that I would have to think about it and left the dealer. Outside I called the Gebhardt parts department. I was quoted $161 as the retail price for winter floor mats. I am sure that the dealer price is less. The next day I decided to visit BMW of Denver. Although it is much further from my home, I wanted another option. There I found the exact same vehicle. The salesman was pleasant and knowledgeable about the vehicle. Soon I meet with the sales manager. With little negotiation he offered me the car for $1000 less than Gebhardt. Then he appraised the vehicle that I was trading in and to my surprise offered me $1500 more on the trade in. Then he advised me that BMW of Denver offered 0% financing. Gebhardt only offered 0.9% financing. A $1000 savings. Total savings was $3500 for the same vehicle. Bottom line, I felt disrespected as a long term customer. Good news, I still have a BMW. Bad news, I would never again use Gebhardt BMW. read more

The Ultimate Driving Experience turned into the repair from hell! I took my 2011 x5 in due to engine issues. It is part of the N63 engine issue that is now a class action lawsuit against BMW. After diagnostics show the engine needs to be replaced due to a KNOWN ISSUE, I was told that BMW would not assist in the repair and it was going to cost me $16k to fix. I was able to get the car traded in elsewhere and despite all of this, they charged me almost $500 for diagnostics, which is insane. And, on top of all of that, the car barely runs now. So, basically, I was charged $500 to have my car returned, not fixed, and running horribly. I will never own another BMW, I will never go to this BMW again. Chris and Brian were absolutely horrible to work with, to the point that they wouldn't take my calls or return my calls. I have never been so disrespected by a business in my life. Shame on BMW for not fixing an issue that they knew existed and tried to pass off a $16k fix on a car that, when fixed, isn't worth $16k. Shame on this service department and shame on BMW. read more

I have blindly been going here for over 4 years now over two different Volkswagens. Why? I don't know. I guess I figured because I wanted to keep the car for the long haul that I wanted a reputable place to take it. They have also charged me several hundred dollars over what they said another oil change place did but yet wouldn't stand by that when I requested they speak to them about it.In fact when I asked them if they really wanted to loose a LONG time costumer over a hundred dollar problem they told me I could go somewere else if I didn't like it. I was treated rudley by several different people and charged for items that I don't believe were ever damaged. Most of all I paid top dollar and got short, snappy answers when I questioned them. Bottom line is I guess I will take them up on it and will go to another place... I bought one car from them plus years of service and all I asked from them is to stand behind what they told me another company did but that was too much I guess... read more
