I hired Gava D's BBQ last weekend to cater a birthday party for 100 guests. I was absolutely thrilled with their service and barbecue food. Elliott was easy to work with and very dependable. He and his "better half", Tricia, arrived when they said they would arrive and the food was ready at the time I specified--- not any earlier or later. Now, this is what we served: Appetizers; "moink" balls and cornbread stuffed jalapeños. Main course: Pulled pork, bbq chicken, tri-tip, mac and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw. Folks could not get enough of the "moink balls" (bacon wrapped around ground sirloin simmered in a tangy bbq sauce.) The jalapeños were a good combination of spicy and cornbread-sweet. The main course meats and sides were fantastic! The pulled pork was my favorite---very smokey and melt-in-your-mouth. The barbecue chicken and tri-tip were flavorful and moist. The baked beans were sweet but also had some kind of spice in them. Yum! The mac and cheese was home-made with various kinds of cheese and was a real treat. After dinner was served, they quietly cleaned up and packed up the leftovers for us. (There was not much left!) We have gotten a lot of compliments on the food. Wow!! Impressive!! I've had barbeque from all over the country, Texas, Memphis, etc. This guy is the real deal. Outstanding food. He catered a wedding which I recently attended in the wine country area of Temecula. Everything he served, chicken, tri-tip, brisket, beans, potatoes and coleslaw was absolutely outstanding. The food was delicious. Cut and served properly. Great smoky flavor and very tender. He's a friendly and personable guy as well. I went over to him to compliment his food and grabbed a card so that I could give this review and hire him myself sometime. Even the beans and potatoes were better than any I've ever had. We catered our rehearsal dinner/Welcome Soirée and could not have been happier with everything from start to finish! Everyone was talking about the exception food and generous portions. My wife and I hired Elliot and Gava D's for our rehearsal dinner. We wanted something that was different from an ordinary rehearsal dinner and something that would impress our guests where they would be wanting more. Elliot and his crew over at Gava D's were hired to cook up some good stuff for my wedding. My wife and I couldn't have been happier with the choice we made! Gava D's smoked up some amazing jalapeño poppers that were truly unique, and that the guests loved. For the main course they made some chicken tacos redneck style that were soooooo good. They even plated everything so guests wouldn't tear through all their amazing food. we ordered trip tip, BBQ chicken, slaw, mac n cheese, beans, and rolls for our wedding rehearsal dinner in our back yard. the excellent and friendly service was only outdone by the quality of the food. all of our 50 guests were more than satisfied and we had leftovers for ourselves. they set up in our back yard and provided plates and utensils. within 30 minutes of everyone finishing their food, they were cleaned up and you'd never be able to tell they were there. fantastic service, excellent food. there is no reason to look any further... Much thanks to Elliot and his team for their fantastic service. We called on short notice but Gava accommodated all of our needs even with a smaller party. Our event went smooth as Elliot took care of all the details so we didn't have to. We ordered the ribs, tri tip, salmon, shrimp, Mac cheese, cornbread, roasted potatoes, grilled pineapple and everything was excellent. The food was grilled on the spot and presented with lovely settings, flowers, tablecloth, cups, utensils...everything. Many compliments were given from our guests on Gava's food and service. Elliot & Gava D's catered my daughter's 5th birthday party and I could not have possibly been more satisfied. After years of throwing these massive parties and bearing all the burden of preparing food for upwards of 50 people, I am so happy I found them. Everything was hot, tasty, and cooked to perfection. They took away all the mess and stress of meal planning for a large party and provided enough food to feed everyone twice (we literally had friends calling the next day asking to come over and help with leftovers because they couldn't get the amzing food off their minds). Their homemade Honey Habanero bbq sauce and slaw sauce are amazing and I cant say enough about their baked beans. Then there is the meat- I've never met someone so informed and passionate about their bbq-ing as Elliot is. He has mastered the art of BBQ and will be our go to caterer for years to come. read more

Our normal long term caterer decided we were too small of an account to do our annual employee BBQ this year so I scrambled around to find a good BBQ place for our event. Spoke to Elliott at Gava D's who worked with me to organize exactly what we needed. Ribs, chicken, tri-tip, salad, beans and rolls. Never having eaten their food I was a little nervous about what my employees would think since they were so used to the old caterer....everyone loved it and it was very much a success. We hired Ellliot from Gava D's for my parents 50th Anniversary party a couple of weeks ago with about 85 people in our back yard. The food was excellent (pulled pork, chicken and beef; beans; slaw; mac and cheese; rolls plus two appetizers and dessert) and we got so many compliments on the food. They also provided plates, utensils and napkins which was one less thing I needed to worry about. He was there and set up by the time guests started arriving and he cleaned up everything afterwards ... again, one less thing for me to worry about. I highly recommend this company - very nice people to deal with, delivered as promised with excellent food.
