Elliot just catered my wedding on 11/16 and it was GREAT! the food was absolutely delicious! We got the chicken, brisket, beans, coleslaw, and the Mac and cheese. EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE commented on how good the food was. They said it was the best wedding meal they ever had. We had a party of about 40 people but had ordered enough food for 50. Most of our guests were our elderly aunts and uncles so we had a TON of food left over. We anticipated this and had to-go boxes available just in case people wanted to take some home. Wow! Great food for a great price! We ordered the New Year's Eve family dinner and everything was delicious. Large portions (served family style but the three of us will be eating it for at least one more meal...maybe two). We had chicken, pork and beef. All were tender and tasty. Elliot was amazing! He's witty, personable, and is quick to respond to questions. He was on top of his game when he came to self-cater our rehearsal dinner of 30 guests. He only needed to know where to go and after that was self-sufficient in making sure he had his time to prep before the event. We had Gava D's cater our wedding and it was just incredible. My, now wife, and I are awful planners and did the whole thing ourselves. Naturally, we waited until the last minute to reach out to Elliot (literally a week before the wedding). He was a really great guy and was very helpful and understanding about the late booking request. Our wedding was at a lodge on Palomar Mountain, which Elliot had no problem driving all the way out for with a small driving surcharge. The pricing was ahead of any competitor and the food most likely was as well. The food was incredible and the setup was tasteful. Elliot was there to help the whole way and really made the catering and feeding process of the wedding smooth. This review has been a long time coming! We hired Gava D's BBQ for our rehearsal dinner at a Temecula winery. From the beginning Elliott was attentive, affordable, and easy to work with. Their prices were on point and I never felt like we were paying too much for what we were getting. Let's talk about the FOOD! My mouth is seriously watering just thinking about the meal they prepared for us. We had chicken, pulled pork, and tri tip. Sides included mac and cheese (which I personally had 3 servings of), coleslaw, and BBQ beans. We also had their delicious peach cobbler (don't even hesitate, get that too)! Almost every guest there commented on how amazing the food was or how stuffed they were. Gava D's delivered big time! Service-Elliott and his wife arrived right on time, in fact they may have been a bit early, exactly what a bride wants in an ideal vendor. They set up their industrial grills and soon the aromas began to fill the area. They ran around the whole time they were there and hustled to make sure all our guests were comfortable and we had everything we needed. We used Gava D's for our company Halloween luncheon this afternoon and they were AMAZING! The food was delicious and flavorful. We chose three meats chicken, tri tip, and pulled pork. All the meat was very moist and tender. The Mac n cheese, let's just say Ohhhhh emmmm Geee! We also had the bake beans which were sweet and savory. Elliot and his wife catered my wedding! .I met elliot for a tasting with my fiance and our daughter. He has a son too and he played with my daughter the whole time! such a good kid. Anyways...His house smelled So good and before I even tasted the food, after talking with him I knew he was the right guy for the job. He really truly loves what he does, hes very passionate and loves seeing the reaction people get when they try his food because it is really really REALLY good! His son is even following in his footsteps and barbecues too! He was also at our wedding and just played with my daughter and the other kids the whole time. It worked out perfectly. The food was literally the best barbecue I have ever had. I had the moink balls (which I never even got to try because they were gone so fast!) and Jalapeno poppers (so yummy). Tri tip, chicken, pulled pork. slaw, mac and cheese and a salad with a vinaigrette. For dessert we had the drunken pineapple. They were on time, served up everything perfectly and their prices are reasonable too. We had 100 guests and they did it all no problem. During and after dinner and even after the wedding days later I had people telling me how great the food was! Nothing is better than knowing your guests are happy. We had leftovers and the next day we ate them again since we had family still in town and my husbands dad kept repeating himself that the mac and cheese is award winning :). Hired Elliot to cater a promotional party for me and about 50 guests. He was one of three bbq caterers in the area that I contacted and I'm glad I went with him! Even better, our party was somewhat last minute and he was able to pull it off in about a weeks notice. We had him serve tri-tip, pulled chicken, STL ribs, beans, slaw, and Mac and cheese. The chicken and tritip was great, but I didn't care for their sides at all. The "roasted veggies" were a boiled, soggy, flavorless disappoint. The roasted potatoes were okay. Probably wouldn't use them again, it was a bit on the pricey side for what we got. read more

Where to begin with this amazing food!? I got married this past November and happened to switch my venue three months prior to the wedding date. We were in a scramble trying to find a caterer out in Temecula. I came across Gava D from their awesome yelp reviews. Boy did they not disappoint. From our initial contact and meeting Elliot was very supportive and honest with everything he does. We had an hour drive from the tasting and he was so kind to wait while we sat in traffic for almost three hours! The food was still hot and delicious. We were sold instantly. Any questions I had from then to our date Elliot responded promptly! I had such small questions about drinks or cups and he reassured me with everything. All details were clear and set for the big day and I knew I did not have to worry about the food. You could smell the deliciousness in the air that day. We had the veggies to start, tri tip, pulled chicken, slaw, beans, macaroni, salad and the drinks. WOW was it all amazing! Everyone made sure we sat down and ate and Elliot checked in with us at the perfect timing. We still to this day get people asking about the food! I would only suggest putting in place a perfect system for people serving themselves because they wanted that food so badly. Our friends from out of state even loved watching the whole cooking process. I wish he had a restaurant where we could go visit and eat the food all the time. My parents and I booked Gava D's for my brother's rehearsal dinner and it was AMAZING! We had pulled pork, mac n cheese, salad and biscuits and it was all delicious. The mac n cheese in particular was a huge hit. In fact, there was mac n cheese the next day at the wedding and it didn't hold a candle to Gava D's. We hired Gava D's to cater a retirement party for a couple of our company's retirees. The food was SO good. Coming from out of town, Elliot just kept telling us "you worry about getting here, leave the food to us." He followed through. I hired Gava D's BBQ last weekend to cater a birthday party for 100 guests. I was absolutely thrilled with their service and barbecue food. Elliott was easy to work with and very dependable. He and his "better half", Tricia, arrived when they said they would arrive and the food was ready at the time I specified--- not any earlier or later. Now, this is what we served: Appetizers; "moink" balls and cornbread stuffed jalapeños. Main course: Pulled pork, bbq chicken, tri-tip, mac and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw. Folks could not get enough of the "moink balls" (bacon wrapped around ground sirloin simmered in a tangy bbq sauce.) The jalapeños were a good combination of spicy and cornbread-sweet. The main course meats and sides were fantastic! The pulled pork was my favorite---very smokey and melt-in-your-mouth. The barbecue chicken and tri-tip were flavorful and moist. The baked beans were sweet but also had some kind of spice in them. Yum! The mac and cheese was home-made with various kinds of cheese and was a real treat. After dinner was served, they quietly cleaned up and packed up the leftovers for us. (There was not much left!) We have gotten a lot of compliments on the food.
