Cons: parking, and wait time for walk ins and ordering. Food: lomo saltado's sauce is based on bbq sauce not like the typical lomo saltado you'd expect. I'm here to do a quick review w/no photos because I was really IMPRESSED with this place. I am a First Timer here and I've seen this place before but never tried it, until today. My family and I was looking for a place to eat before taking a tour to Queen Mary and we decided for this spot. IT WAS GREAT!!! Food was DELICIOUS! Parking was not a problem, tight parking location with very nice beach view but always a stall to find. No wait, we sat immediately and we were greeted with service within a matter of 5 minutes. Ordered simple food: Gaucho Wings, Calamari, Burgers and our drinks. THESE came out in less than 15 minutes - that is not a long wait, considering it was a Saturday afternoon, too. Place was clean, to include restrooms. The beach view was BEAUTIFUL, and it helped that the day was super nice and sunny. I want to give a huge SHOUTOUT TO BIANCA. Service by Bianca was EXCELLENT! (and my apologies if her name is misspelled) She was incredibly attentive with providing customer service, checking in on us at the right times and making sure everything was ok. She even made sure to let us know when she was stepping away to ensure we weren't just abandoned and waiting for whomever would come around to check on us next. We ordered a few drinks and the mimosa flight. I'm not a huge fan of mimosas but I really did enjoy tasting these. This was our first time visiting this restaurant on a Sunday evening, and I was genuinely excited to try it. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from the moment we arrived. When we got there, we stood waiting for several minutes before the hostess finally acknowledged us. We asked if there was availability for walk-ins, and she told us there was a 25-minute wait, even though we could clearly see several empty tables. We decided to wait, but while waiting, we needed to use the restroom. We were shocked by how dirty and poorly maintained the restrooms were. It immediately raised concerns about the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. Eventually, we received a text saying our table was ready. When we checked in with the hostess, she led us to a table that was still dirty. I asked if that was the only table available, and her response was, "You can go look on the other side." My husband and I were surprised by the lack of professionalism. We walked around and found other available tables, but they were also unclean. At that point, we decided to leave. I have never experienced such poor customer service or seen a restaurant in such disarray. Between the dirty restrooms, unclean tables, and dismissive attitude from the hostess, the entire experience was extremely disappointing. If a health inspector had walked in that evening, I imagine there would have been serious concerns. Sadly, what was supposed to be an exciting first visit turned into a frustrating experience, and we will not be returning. read more

Gaucho Beach is an enchanting beach cafe restaurant with a tantalizing view of the Alamitos beach. Their menu is a blend of Argentine and California cuisine. Its indoor and outdoor seats were very spacious. I came to grab a Pederoso Smoothie (orange, mango, kale and pineapples) and Spinach Empenada. Drink was refreshing and fresh; Empanada was scrumptious and soft. I dig both items. Staff were cordial and professional. Prices were a bit expensive given its prime location. However, its quality was unmatched. Overall, I had a good order experience and enjoyed their empanada & smoothie. read more

Let's start with the service. We waited about 30 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. We finally had to wave someone down and ask if anyone was planning on taking our order. Not exactly the level of service you'd expect from a place charging these prices. The seating was also a joke. Half of our group got a beautiful ocean view, while the rest of us got the stunning view of... a wall. Then came the drinks. Somehow even the beer tasted watered down. I didn't know that was possible, but here we are. The food was the biggest disappointment. Everything was ridiculously overpriced for what was served. The chilaquiles looked like someone opened a bag of chips, threw some sauce on top, and called it a day. We weren't given utensils, and when we asked for ranch and extra cheese, our waiter looked completely baffled and wasn't even sure they had either available. For the amount of money we spent, the experience was honestly embarrassing. Between the terrible service, watered-down drinks, and mediocre food, this place completely missed the mark. Save yourself the frustration and go to Tequila Jack's instead. Better food, better drinks, better prices, and a better atmosphere. You neeeeed to get the strawberry basil margarita. It's a MUST. GRACE and JOSUE were amazing! They were both so friendly and accommodating. I got there early so upstairs wasn't opened yet (but I love setting a romantic vibe for myself so I really wanted to go upstairs). What a shame the place is really nice next to the water have outdoor seating and pet friendly. However, there's a server named Emily that I felt so discriminated upon. Served every other table around our table, but never came to us.. flagging her down, asking her at least five times for salt and pepper for my ceviche that is already hot because it's been an hour with no salt and pepper and constantly asking for salt and pepper. Very disappointed with how Gaucho Beach handled the World Cup final. They advertised that they would be hosting the final and opening their doors at 10:00 AM, with no reservations accepted on game day. We arrived early, expecting to enjoy the full pre-game atmosphere. Instead, because there was a marathon taking place in Long Beach, they left hundreds of people waiting outside in the middle of the sun without any communication or updates. They didn't let us in until 12:00 PM, right as the match started. We completely missed all of the pre-game coverage, the opening show, and the team introductions--the very experience many of us came for. What makes this even more frustrating is the lack of communication. If they knew the marathon would delay entry, they should have informed customers in advance instead of falsely advertising a 10:00 AM opening. I'm posting this review before the game is even over because this has nothing to do with the result of the match. It's about poor organization, misleading advertising, and a lack of respect for customers who planned their day around this event. read more

We came here to celebrate our friend's birthday and were seated next to the bar and kitchen, a nice square table to seat 7 of us. The drinks were nice, refreshing, and pretty strong. I would say that the appetizers were better than the entree I ordered which was the lomo saltado. It had a different flavor that I'm not used to compared to other lomo saltado dishes I've had. The calamari and shrimp taquitos were nice starters along with chips and salsa. For my beverages, I had the white sangria and the Red Bull coconut mojito. Whoever the bartender was that Sunday afternoon, kudos to you! Would I comeback? Maybe. But not anytime soon. There's a parking lot but it does get packed. Great atmosphere (in the restaurant fences), you can almost forget the homeless campers and the urine smell on a hot day... First walked up and was seated right away, then forgot about as we sat in the center table sweating, waiting for maybe a menu or a server... We grabbed a couple people who looked as if they could help and that said they would be back. About 20 minutes later, we walked up to the bar and were going to order our own drinks to take back to the table, but do you know, a bartender with a personality offered us some seats and service... From that point on things were good. Bartender suggested custom drinks, some appetizers and from it went from 2 star for atmosphere to 4 star for bartender and the crew behind the bar, they would have got more, but my seat at gaucho island and dehydration wouldn't let me forget... We/ I will go back, but will definitely need to be more strategic about my seating or attitude. read more

The guacamole tasted preserved; and left a lot to be desired. The fries were limp and the fish (chips) were really bad. They were kind of crisp, tasteless, with a watery substance coming out of them and there was something hard in one of them. Not appetizing. This is my second time here. Burger was cooked correctly with a yummy side Greek salad. Ceviche Nikkei tasted fresh and was a bit spicy. Will def return many times this summer!
