Great atmosphere (in the restaurant fences), you can almost forget the homeless campers and the urine smell on a hot day... First walked up and was seated right away, then forgot about as we sat in the center table sweating, waiting for maybe a menu or a server... We grabbed a couple people who looked as if they could help and that said they would be back. About 20 minutes later, we walked up to the bar and were going to order our own drinks to take back to the table, but do you know, a bartender with a personality offered us some seats and service... From that point on things were good. Bartender suggested custom drinks, some appetizers and from it went from 2 star for atmosphere to 4 star for bartender and the crew behind the bar, they would have got more, but my seat at gaucho island and dehydration wouldn't let me forget... We/ I will go back, but will definitely need to be more strategic about my seating or attitude. read more

I really like this place. Def a summer drinking spot. Right on the sand and lots of open seating. Doggies allowed outside. Usually places like these are overpriced and have gross food... yes a bit pricey but the food we got was actually good. Tried the gaucho burger and the ceviche Nikkei and both were good. Burger was cooked correctly with a yummy side Greek salad. Ceviche Nikkei tasted fresh and was a bit spicy. Will def return many times this summer! Will say service was pretty bad. 3 diff servers in plain clothes..had no idea which one was actually mine and if they were serving or customers. Took forever to get the receipt and then forever to pay. If you're in a rush ask for your receipt when they bring the food. read more

Amazing place to go if you're looking for a spot with a beautiful outdoor setting, whether it's a scenic view or right by the beach. The atmosphere alone makes it worth the visit--perfect for relaxing, enjoying the fresh air, and taking in the surroundings. Came here after a bike ride with friends. Loved the ceviche and the bread with chimichurri sauce is always so good. Wish it came with the meal like it does at the other gaucho location but the meal was so delicious and loved every bite. Wish they had their gaucho beers available like it was listed on the menu but we will definitely come backs again to try them. Some of our food came out at different times like the bread came out at the end and our friends food came out late. Come here for the view, not the food. I have been wanting to try this place ever since it opened years ago, but I just never got around to it. They are famous for their empanadas, but they do not start serving empanada until 11 am. I arrived right when they opened shop at 8 am with my dog. I ordered the sandwich de miga, which was nicely toasted but it was extremely simple--just a few slices of deli turkey and melted cheese. There was no spread, sauce, or any other filling. This is something that anyone could put together in less than five minutes at home. It tasted okay, but perhaps I should have tried their coffee or smoothie. There was condensation on all of the outdoor furniture, making it hard to find a dry place to sit. I managed to find a dry spot in the shade, and I tied my dog to an adjacent table while I ate my sandwich. You do have to step over detritus from adjacent homeless encampment in the immediate surrounding, but the dining area within the patio was clean. read more

We love Gaucho Beach! Our waitress, Kamiah, was amazing--so friendly and attentive, and she provided excellent customer service. We've been here multiple times, and Kamiah has been the best server so far. We live just down the street and always bring our friends here for great food and drinks. I highly recommend the mussels, lomo saltado, bread with chimichurri, breakfast burger, espresso martini, and strawberry basil margarita, just to name a few. They also have a great happy hour! The beachfront vibe is absolutely beautiful. You really can't go wrong with the atmosphere, food, or drinks here. Not to mention, it's also dog friendly and they have huge puppy patties for only $4! read more

I was looking forward to trying this spot after reading such raving reviews. After going, I was quite disappointed. My party was seated inside on the upper deck, it was quite loud and it was hard to hear any conversation. The waiter greeted us and asked to take our order, in which some members needed a minute to decide. Instead of returning, he proceeded to read his cell phone every time there was a slight pause in ordering. I've never seen this ever by any waitstaff, quite unprofessional. He barely returned to check in on us after that. I ordered the smoked salmon appetizer which was terrible quality, some pieces looked and tasted like it was stale or sat out. The corners of the fish was even hardened. Food was on the higher price for the mediocre quality, and the service was slow and inattentive. Definitely, won't be going back. We ate here tonight for Dine LA special and it was totally not worth it. the $55 price was not worth the quantity of food you received. The food was good and I will say the Lentil and Chorizo soup was outstanding. The price point on this was way too high as the dessert was only two five-inch churros that were very ordinary and the piece of sea bass was incredibly small. The price should have been around $35. They were very busy and service was very slow, our soup and entree hit the table together and it still took almost two hours total from sitting down to eat there. read more

I ordered fish and chips. The fish had absolutely no seasoning or salt & pepper. I told the waiter about it and he said they don't put seasoning on their fish because people complain. I spoke with the manager he also told me they had so many complaints about the seasoning on the fish. But when I ordered he never told me it was not going to be seasoning so when so when customers order you should let them know. If they would have told me upfront that the fish had no seasoning I would have ordered something else, but he did take half of my bill, but I was left still hungry, because I couldn't eat bland fish. So if you go here don't order fish & chips, unless you like bland food. read more

Gaucho Beach has become one of my favorite spots for breakfast or brunch or really anytime. It is located in downtown long beach. Parking entrance off of Shoreline drive at Ocean ave. Must Pay for parking using the passport park app. The restaurant is an open air concept, right on the boardwalk with views of the shoreline, The Marina, the Queen Mary, and the old Spruce Goose dome. The fairly large space has a beautiful modern tropical vibe and is popping with positive energy and great music. The music is loud which adds to the ambiance. There is a roof top lounge that opens around noon and is available both for food and drinks. The menu is simple but tastefully designed with something for everyone. They also have a bar and a great drinks menu. The service is excellent. Gio, the chef himself delivered the food to our table while doing some personal dance moves and introduced himself. Really fun! Both people in my party had the Lobster omelette. The eggs were fluffy and as light as air. The Lobster and the aioli sauce were a great compliment. Even the Greek side salad was so tasty. For Dessert, my cousin and i shared the Flan which was light with a distinct caramel taste but not too sweet. We kept watching the servers passing by with one beautiful dish after another. Overall great experience!!! We will be back for sure to hang out on the roof top and order some more delicious food. I highly recommend Gaucho Beach. read more

The customer service, and the ambiance to experience the cool indoors while being on the beautiful warm beach was everything I was hoping for today!! The Paloma was super tasty and beautifully made. Daniel, one of the main gentlemen, was super attentive, aware of my attendance, and kept my experience well enjoyed. Cleaning up after my messes, making sure my water was always topped off, and regularly making sure I had everything I needed. He ran the entire show!!! I watched him as he made sure drinks/food was ran on time and everyone had everything they needed. I brought my dog with me while he enjoyed a beef patty. The staff was kind to him and this was 10/10 experience!!! The security guard at the front of the hostess stand, Harrison, was professional and very accommodating for us. He was attentive to guests and observant to his surroundings. Beef patty was super tasty. Me and baby boy shared it! Last time I was there they only had a few working heat lamps, and it was a nightmare trying to get one!

Fourth time here, when is the roof top open, pray tell? Only weekends, a waitress just informed me.

The prices are worth it and not out of line with other great seafood houses. This is not a place for a vegan or vegetarian, but they do have great salads. All of the food is great. We love their fish and chips and all of their entrees are great. They have the best halibut in town. The place is so pretty. It is comfortable and has nice lighting and cute décor. There is not a bad seat in the house. The service is excellent. The staff will take great care of you and they are super nice. Their desserts are also good, especially, their key lime pie. The raw bar is wonderful. There is just not a bad thing to order here.

The mango sticky rice is also really good, but the portion is on the smaller side, so we ended up getting two orders since one plate is hard to share with more than 2-3 people. Parking has been easy for us so far since there's both a parking lot and nearby street parking. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants that's officially in our regular rotation.

HH drink special was quite tasty to start off. Food wise, started off with an order of the Caesar salad, simple but delicious. Fresh crisp Romaine lettuce and slices of Parmesan and crouton bits. Nice crunch with each bite. The dressing, wow pretty tasty. And an order of the Mac and Cheese . Most places it's either a hit or a miss and let me say it was a HIT. Quite cheesy and full of flavors that a second order was had. A dish I do recommend for HH. We also had an order of the Brussels sprouts which was excellent. A nice glaze and crunchy with chunks of house cured pancetta. Nice big chunks I must say. Lastly the beef sliders with Wagyu beef patties. Honestly, this was the least favorite of the dishes we got. You would think it sounded great but it was quite tasteless and nothing major to report on. Served with brioche bun and shredded lettuce and tomatoes and a lemon aioli. I had high hope for it when I saw the group next to us order it but it was a little disappointing. Overall, the Mac and cheese, Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts were all hits. The sliders, disappointing. Other items on HH didn't look too ingesting for us but it was for other people. The rooftop lounge and bar area was the place to be when we were there. It picked up real fast after we got seated. Picnic style tables being occupied by large groups before HH ended. Just the rooftop alone was great and beautiful. It a place that's good for a drink and meal with friends. Downstairs was beautiful but seemed more of an intimate experience. Overall, it was a great choice for a meal during HH.

I've been walking by this charming beachside restaurant for months, and its stunning ocean views have finally convinced me to give it a try. The colorful buildings and lively atmosphere have made me curious about the delicious food and sunny spot it must offer. When parking, it's a good idea to download the Passport app, if you plan to go before 6pm especially when parking enforcement is out in full force. This way, you can pay for your parking spot quickly and easily, avoiding the risk of receiving a ticket in the time it takes to get back to your car. By paying for your parking through the app, you can ensure that you're not stuck with an unexpected fine, and you'll also be supporting the city's efforts to streamline parking payment processes. I was taken aback when we had to sit ourselves at a table, it's not something I'm used to at a beachfront restaurant like this. But, considering the stunning ocean views and the fact that it was a weekday, the lack of assigned seating wasn't a bad thing - it added to the casual, laid-back vibe of the place. Our waiter was friendly and enthusiastic, but it took a bit of time to get their attention - we had to wait for a while before someone came to take our order. Despite the delay, her demeanor remained warm and welcoming, and she made sure to check in on us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. The pineapple Margarita was a decent drink, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The steak and chicken empanadas complicated were excellent! The steak was tender and juicy with a nice char, while the chicken was crispy on the outside and tender within. Both dishes were well-seasoned and allowed the natural flavors to shine through. My sister wasn't too thrilled with the fish and chips, unfortunately. She found the batter to be overdone, giving the fish an unpleasant texture. To make matters worse, the fish was prone to bursting with juice, which was a bit messy and unappetizing. The tartar sauce, which she thought would add a nice tanginess, ended up being off-putting instead, with a weird taste that didn't complement the dish well. arrived at the restaurant at approximately 3:55, waited for 10 minutes in the hall beside the bar for someone to acknowledge that we were present. we stated we would like a table for dinner and were told by the bartender take any table that's open. So we did five minutes later someone came over and cleaned the table and asked if we needed assistance.. we said we had come for dinner and she said I'll send over the waiter... 10 minutes later, the waiter arrived, and we told him we would like to have a menu.... He proceeds to find a menu and brings one menu for three people..... that's right one menu for three people.... we look over the menu and order two steaks, and one salad and calamari...... Approximately 15 minutes later, a server, not our waiter brings steak and the calamari..... Anticipating that the other stake was forthcoming, I was mistaken.... After requesting to see our waiter after 10 minutes, we asked where the other steak was..... said, let me look into it.... Five minutes late he shows up with the second steak..... The steak that was served to me was un edible..... I tried my best, but I just could not eat the steak...... I asked the server if he would send the waiter to me so that I could show him what my problem was...... after a five minute wait and no waiter I decided to go to the bar and ask for the manager.... I explained to him what the problem was and he could see that the steak was un eatable.... he did refund the money that I had paid for the steak....... I only wish that I would not have included a 20% tip for a waiter that was non-existent..... but that's what happens when you have to order pay for and include the tip before the meal is served..... this is a poor poor policy....... So buyer beware if you plan on using this restaurant, I wouldn't pay before you see what you are about to receive.... with the service and food as poor as it was presented to us this restaurant will not be around very long..... Can't even begin to describe how awful this place is!!!!! As a former employee for Almost a year... If only you all knew what was taking place behind closed doors!!!! To start You wouldn't believe the amount of CROSS CONTAMINATION happening here. The surfaces food is prepared on is absolutely disgusting and never ever ever cleaned or sanitized. They don't even wash dishes with soap or sanitizer and only spray them off and run through the machine with water. Health Code Violations? Ha! Long Beach is Notorious for Health Departments not doing their jobs and being paid off by places like this that are owned by the city. The amount of rodents and bugs and disgust in and around this place would make anyone never want to step foot near here again. This place seriously needs to be shut down immediately due to HEALTH CODE VIOLATIONS The owners of Guacho? Who are they? Management? Who are they as well? Who actually controls what's Happening here? The amount of corners being cut to just make money is insane. There is no management and employees are left constantly having to pick up the slack of the business. Employees give inventory through group chat to a manager and that manager then gives the order to his manager and then that person doesn't order what's needed on time for the business to have what's on the menus and then the employees are left telling customers we're out of items. This has been going on since the start and has not changed. I could literally keep going and going and going with how horrible this place was and is. The amount of employees you see come and go, the lacking all around from everyone is ridiculous. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF LONG BEACH SOMEONE SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!!!!!!
