Cute atmosphere, good lighting. That's about it, as far as pros. The overall experience with food was, not great. The pizza was terrible, clearly not a "pizza joint". It was really sweet and over cooked. We got a pizza with hot honey, yet somehow the honey was sweeter than normal honey? I would certainly not return for the food. The drinks were interesting and decent. I do not recommend the pickle-tini. It's made with peperoncino base, gross. Also, the service was... odd. Everyone was on the younger side and very quick or short with you. In and out, little to no eye contact. read more

What a good use of this space! Good location especially for those that live downtown and want something off the main strip, and want free parking. Visited this location a couple days after their grand opening. When you walk in it felt very warm. The outside may not but the inside certainly does. Good music was playing and my group was greeted with warm hostess. The menu offers both beer, wine and cocktails. The cocktails are around $13 which is pretty typical for downtown. Beers are a little high, around $6 on average. My crew ordered two pizzas (there were 3 of us) which we shared. It was plenty and they were both really good and flavorful. Some of the small touches were All Gender restrooms which I am a fan of, also water crates on the table. It seems they are still trying to figure out how to get people to come by offering DJ's, brunch and other happenings throughout the week. A nice addtion to downtown! read more

Was not impressed, the pizza I ordered said it came with chicken but there was not any on, or in it!?! And, for the price there should have been plenty. read more

A nice space with great food options. Their lunch menu had a lot of variety - four salads, five pizzas, seven sandwiches, three sides, and one dessert. They also had a case of baked goods to choose from. For pizza, we tried the Byrne's specialty and Olive branch. Crispy thin crust with great flavor. The favorite was the Byrne's specialty with the pesto base. Harvest salad and side of brown butter potatoes were also good add-ons. Employees were very friendly. There were a good amount of tables inside for dine in options. There's a parking lot in front with a few spaces. read more

As a girl who was born on 2/22 I love that this restaurant's address is 22 E 22nd st! It's a coffee shop, lunch, dinner, and cocktail spot all in one! I got the spicy chicken pizza and it was SO good salsa verde / feta / peppadew peppers, jalapeños / pickled onion make it a mouthwatering treat, all atop a cracker thin crust they have a bunch of other pizzas from Byrne's Grilled Pizza as well and if thin crust isn't your jam, they also have a thick roman style crust! I was happy to see mocktails on the menu and I got squidward's neighbor, a fun concoction of pineapple and lime with a tonic base I had to get dessert and they have a fun selection of gelato (cookie butter was 10/10) and local treats like persimmon pie! My friend got the night and day rice as well, which is forbidden rice / jasmine rice / spicy mayo / sticky sauce / pickled ginger, just one of many unique apps on the menu. Although the food is great and the interior is gorgeous, I was a little disappointed with the service. We went on a Thursday night and it was a little busy but not packed. My friend and I felt like initially we were being rushed, but once we said we were still eating, we were left alone for pretty much the rest of the night and had to attempt to flag our server down multiple times over the next hour and a half to get the check. The owner was really nice though and personally brought some of our food out! read more

I really enjoy this place. The atmosphere is quite nice and the service has always been friendly, if not a tad delayed on occasion. My favorite times eating here have been during Devour Indy, where I feel like the kitchen really shows off its skills (for example, the amazing ube panna cotta this year!). Their regular menu has some gems like the miso eggs and the versatile, delicious rice bowl. I think I would like to see their chef stretch their legs a little more often on the regular menu for me to bring it to five stars. I've never had a problem with seating, but on-site parking is always full during dinner time and I've usually had to park on the street nearby. read more

Delicious, inventive dishes, great cocktails and mocktails, unpretentious cozy ambiance.

Very good service. Very cute inside and outside. The drinks are phenomenal. Loved the Santo Domingo. The drinks come out ice cold. This was so refreshing on this hot 90° sunny summer day. They feature Byrnes thin crust pizza which is super thin like a cracker. The chicken tenders weren't as spicy and flavorful as I had hoped they would be. I enjoyed the Brussel sprouts even though they had a tad bit much sauce on them. I would have gotten one more item. My friend and I split the pizza and chicken tenders. They had trivia on this Tuesday night also at 7pm. There is a small parking lot. read more

Really like the look and vibe at 22. On a nice sunny day this place will be perfect to sit outside. Similar pizza's to Byrnes which is reason enough to visit. They also have salads and a variety of other items. I'll admit I blew it by ordering the kale salad which was fine for a salad. I had food envy for all the pizza around me! They do a really creative drinks list too. I'm looking forward to going back and correct my order! read more

It's cool. It's more of a drink/ snack / hangout place. The rice bowl looked amazing, but was fairly bland. Flat bread pizza was decent. Food might be pricier than it's worth but the drinks seem to be at a solid price point for the quality. We both really like our drink. read more

We requested patio seating and were told it would be a longer wait, which we were fine with. After waiting 30-40 minutes, we were seated indoors instead. When we asked to keep waiting for the patio, we were told it was now fully booked. It then took about 15-20 minutes before a server came by. We ordered one alcoholic drink and our food right away. The drink arrived roughly 10 minutes later, dripping all over the table, and at $13 for such a small pour, it didn't feel like a good value. The food took nearly 45 minutes to arrive, and by the time it did, my sandwich was lukewarm at best and actually cold in the middle. During that 45-minute wait, no one stopped by to check in--no drink refills, no updates--until just before the food finally came out. The Monte Cristo was $20, which felt overpriced given it was mostly bread and not particularly flavorful. Overall, the experience was underwhelming, mostly due to the poor service. The food was mediocre for the price, and we never got to see the patio at all. What really stung was finding out other groups were told they could wait on the patio and even relax in the hammocks, while we were left waiting in the parking lot. read more

My friends and I came here for brunch Sunday and we enjoyed ourselves. When you walk in, the decor is very unique and bright. I'm a lover of plants so that always gets me every time. We were greeted and we were able to sit down immediately. The place looks to be really small but it's actually huge with enough seating. The customer service with our waitress was okay. The pizza was incredible. The pepperoni pizza was def worth ordering again. I like their drink menu also! Overall super cute place Pros Decor Pizza Cons Maybe upbeat music? I am a big fan of Byrnes Grilled pizza. Love the super thin crust love that that are LGBTQ friendly owned and operated. A friend of mine sent me the link to a news story about Gather 22 so made reservations online. Gotta say 22 and Penn is not an area I've ever stopped in. Parking seems limited if they get busy. Nice exterior and the backyard looks great for summer. Interior seemed to be a mix of kinda 1970s to Victorian Fretwork Spandrels. Liked that there are no TVs in the front dining area. And bathrooms are gender neutral. We started out with Blush and Bloom Hibiscus drink. It was really good and I could have drank it in a few seconds. The square ice cubes really take up a lot of space. For the price I'd skip next time. But it was good. I love hibiscus. I got a pepperoni pizza and husband got the Italian Sandwich. Being a fan of Byrnes Grilled pizza I knew what to expect. The pizza was great although a-bit burnt on the edge. Italian Sandwich was good but it would be better served as a hot sandwich not cold. The bagged chips were just bad. Decided to try the sugar cream pie. It is not the typical Hoosier sugar cream pie. The cinnamon whipped cream over takes the flavor of the pie so scraped it to the side. The persimmon added nothing to the flavor but may have changed the texture. I liked the brûlée sugar on top. The pie was good but not the traditional flavor. I go back for pizza and pie. read more

I brought my mom for Brunch and we loved the vibe at Gather 22! It is very thoughtfully put together and you can tell they embrace community. We both had the avocado toast, and it was okay. The blended avocado with the two drizzled sauces was a little too "wet" for me. The sauces were overwhelming and the avocado got lost. It was almost the texture of a mousse. I'd love to try something different in the future, though! Our coffee was exceptional. And everyone was very friendly and quick. read more

Cute neighborhood spot for drinks and snacks or pre dinner drinks with friends. Made dinner reservations here and more so felt like it was a lighter fare type of menu. Don't get me wrong the pizza from Byrnes was DELICIOUS and we devoured every slice. The real star of the show was the pickltini. Vodka based with banter juice and ginger + prepares peeper garnish was a brine lovers dream! Unfortunately I believe these are no long on the menu, but I highly suggest checking out the patio and cocktail menu in this fresh spring weather! read more

I took my mother there for their high tea. So misleading!!! The photos looked amazing!! It was not representative of the real thing at all!! I am not a fan of high tea but it looked so inviting online. The deserts and tea sandwiches were not as depicted. The sweets consisted of 2 hard cold scones and a few other things not worth mentioning. The tea sandwiches were butter and onion, cucumber and smoked salmon. They forgot the smoked salmon. Your photos should be of your food!! I felt tricked and deceived. $55 a person was highway robbery!!! The idea was great, the venue ok but don't trick people in thinking it is something other than it is. The real winner was whoever created the photos because the photos drew me in but they were not photos of Gather 22's tea. Just know going in it is not anything like what they portray on their website!!!! read more

First trip and I will be back. The atmosphere is really cool. The patio is wonderfully large for an urban restaurant. We went on a Tuesday and they had trivia night. This trip we sat inside by their bar and had a view of the patio which is good view. We just missed their new happy hour menu but worth going. Some of their specialty cocktails were $8 vs normally $13 and appetizers were also well priced. HH is 3-6pm. My friend and I split their Spicy Chicken and Bahn Mi-L-T. Both were outstanding. The spicy chicken has great kick. Spicy but not over powering. Bahn we substituted the falafel patty and really enjoyed it! Amber was our service and did a great job! Highly recommend! read more

A friend and I went on a Sunday evening to Gather 22 for Devour week. It was both our first time here, but their new concept was so intriguing that we both had to come here. The interior and exterior of the restaurant is so pretty and a great place to linger and talk over a bottle of wine with friends; which is what we did. We got an orange wine for our dinner. Our server was lovely and explained the concept of the platter and how it was intended. Both my friend and I super enjoyed the concept. Of the items on the platter, we both really loved the cotija cottage cheese creme (how millennial of us), the carrots, tomatoes, and zucchini. We both got the hanger steak for our mains, and for the cut, it was super tender and perfectly done. I loved how even though it came with chimichurri, by mixing and matching the different sauces and accompaniments from the platter, it changes the profile. The only disappointment we had was with the dessert. It was not quite what we expected. The filling of the pie was a little gummy and the peach trifle just had an odd texture. However, this did not take away our experience or our main course. Bring a group of friends to enjoy! read more

Love having Gather 22 in our neighborhood!!! It's our favorite brunch spot. They have a beautiful outdoor space, however we sat at the ample bar and had a wonderful meal with excellent cocktails. Our Indy Coffee Club met up at Gather 22 for brunch one Saturday. When I arrived at Gather 22, parking was a bit of a challenge since it is downtown, but I was able to find a space on Talbot Street. There are parking lots available for parking across the street from the restaurant I found out later, and they have a small parking lot in the restaurant. Be prepared to fight parking when you come to Gather 22. I went into the restaurant and the manager told me my group was in the indoor patio in the back. I went through the back and into the indoor patio room and was impressed with ambiance. The indoor patio room was beautiful and decorated with what looked like Christmas decorations with green balls hanging from the ceiling and trees decorated all over the room. Our group had a large table in the back next to the window, and I sat down at the end. Apparently, we only had one server for our group because it took about 20 minutes to get the server's attention and for me to place my drink order. I did not see any water pitchers on the table because I wanted to have some water while I waited. When the server finally arrived, I gave her my drink order which was a matcha latte. I did order some water as well. When I received my matcha latte, I placed my food order of the sweet potato hash. The matcha latte did arrive within 10 minutes, but it took a while for me to get my water. The sweet potato hash arrived within 15-20 minutes. The matcha latte was perfect and wonderful. The sweet potato hash was amazing and tasted fabulous with the perfect combo of flavors and spices. It is very spicy with the chorizo sausage, so if you order this dish, make sure you have a glass of water handy because your mouth will be on fire. I did not have my water handy, so I was suffering, but it was Ok. The negative side of my dining experience was the service was slow and it took a while to get a glass of water and to get a refill of water. If there were water pitchers or carafes of water on the table ahead of time, this would not have been a problem. It was obvious the restaurant was not prepared for our group, and the server was overwhelmed and did not have the help she needed for taking care of our group. But nevertheless, the server did her best and was professional and nice with our group, so I do give her an A for effort. I would advise the manager to be more prepared for large groups coming to the restaurant if they know in advance they are coming for brunch. On a positive note, the food and beverages at Gather 22 are excellent and highly recommend ed. The sweet potato hash was delicious. The matcha latte was fantastic. Everyone loved the food and the beverages! I would come here again for dinner or brunch when they are not so busy just to get a better experience. The staff just missed the mark on this particular day. I would not steer anyone away from Gather 22. It is worth giving it a try for brunch. Hopefully you will have a better dining experience that I did. read more

Gather 22 is one of those spots that feels both special and relaxed -- the kind of place made for good food and better company. The vibe is cozy neighborhood energy: warm lighting, intimate space, and a friendly buzz that makes you want to stay awhile. We ordered the platter, and it was easily the highlight. A colorful spread of dips, spreads, and small bites -- think curried confit tomatoes, honey olives, hummus, and seasonal veggies bread. It's made for sharing, but honestly, I could've finished it myself. Every bite was balanced and creative without trying too hard. Our server was Sophia. Service was attentive, the drinks were solid, and the whole experience felt inviting and thoughtful. Gather 22 nails that "elevated casual" vibe -- perfect for a date night, group dinner, or lazy weekend brunch. Verdict: Great food, lively atmosphere, and that platter alone is worth the trip. read more

A few of us went here for the high tea and were pretty disappointed. The experience is $65 (tip already included) for each person. That includes 3 mini desserts, 3 mini sandwiches and a crostini, one sugary baked good, and tea. When booking, the description stated that there was a boquet making station, which was really the only reason we thought the price made sense. Unfortunately when we got there, there was no boquet making station. We did ask and show a picture of the booking, but our server/the manager didn't seem to know what we were talking about, despite us having a picture of the booking. So for the amount of food that would only equate to half of a lunch, a tea blend, and no boquet, $65 PER PERSON, was extremely overpriced. Additionally the wait/service was pretty delayed despite having a reservation and the restaurant not being super busy. The redeemers were that the place itself is SO cute and the cocktails were amazing! I'll definitely go back to try the regular menu, but I would not recommend the high tea experience. read more
