Gaska people don't care about its tenants, never call you back unless you force them to do so. They have a very rude and unhelpful front desk. On site manager is a slacker and never responds to your phone calls. 1160 Ruberta Ave Glendale CA 91201 We used to be at , a property managed by Gaska Inc. where all the pipes in the parking were leaking, the main door lock didn't work and was never fixed, the call box at the front door never worked and the on site manager refused to fix it. It's unfortunate to feel the need to write such a review, and I do my very best not to write exceedingly negative things about anyone, but every once in a while someone comes along that deserves every negative comment. Gaska Inc. is one of those entities; a consistent scourge in the communities unlucky enough to have them as property owners/managers. Gaska is an unresponsive, dishonest company that lends the whole business of property management and development a bad name. From a community standpoint, Gaska is the very definition of a firm that insists on doing business and owning properties in a variety of communities they care nothing about and hold no vested interest. Nor do they pretend to. Although, they are far too often very happy to take the credit when efforts to improve their properties advance through very little effort or assistance on their part, and, in fact, advance despite their empty promises and road blocks. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL! They are very nice at the beginning and before signing the lease, but after you become a tenant they don't even answer your calls. -There is no Covenant of Quiet Enjoyment which is the agency and owner responsibility to provide it to the tenants. (No residential rules are followed specifically in their Glendale residencies) -The agency doesn't take any responsibility regarding the violent residents. - As a tenant I did the agency job with contacting the Housing department of Los Angeles County and obtained legal help. -The property manager who represents the agency is Ms. Jasmin, who is very nice and smiling at the first day and later didn't even answer my phone calls. She just left a message with "Do whatever is your convenience". -At the move out time I had to buy the toilet seats (which is a common wear and tear) otherwise I'd be charged for $35 per toilet seat. I have the pictures that there was no damage on the seats. -They take a separate cleaning fee for the floors even there was no damage and no dust on it! -They increased my rent after one year for $95! _They charge the tenants for the usual wear and tears. read more

They let us view the unit multiple times just to make sure we loved it and were very clear on everything we needed prior to move in. God, I can't believe am over with Gaska, one of the happiest moments in my life was leaving that awful place, My wife was living in CA for school & I was living in NY, I got a job in CA, & time for me to move, she had finals at the time of the move & we didn't really have a lot of time to research & read reviews, so we saw an ad, we called, my wife checked the place really quickly she said it was ok! We provided Jasmin with everything she needs, SSNs, IDs, credit checks & when it came to signing the lease she wouldn't approve it unless we both sign (am in NY) impossible to me to sign, so we agreed on notarizing ( I get it notarized she asks for more notarization) had me leave my work couple of times (while am on a notice & I have a lot of work to do ) just in order to get our lease done, nevermind, I did, we get the keys, I move to the apartment, & then she asks me to go again sign the lease (even though she have it notarized) its my new job, I have no time off, I work in DTLA & the apartment is in Glendale, she refuses to meet me during a lunch & not available on weekends, tries to force me to take time off (my first month on the new job) just to sign a paper, I ignored until I got a chance to go late to work & do it, you go to the office, no greetings, no smiles, all talks Armenian, rude,makes you wait without even telling you how long, Jasmin comes, give me the paper I sign, & I leave without she even say any good or nice word, she deals with you as you work for her & she is that rude boss! its really normal that when you move to a new place new experiences occur & that is underst&able! our neighbors above were annoying, we heard banging in the middle of the night, we wake up on that 3 nights in row, then I got fed up I spoke to them, they were nice, apparently it was their kid, & that stopped, after a while it happened again we complain, then we are told "NO WAY" they are very nice people & they won't do it! (yeah we are liars) no one says anything to them. a week later, we have our parents visiting with in-laws & we had a lot of people over, we get a little loud (all before 10:00pm on weekend) second day we receive a notice in mail that we are annoying & needs to stop doing parties!!! WTH! Walls are really thin, you can hear everything, including the garage door that keeps opening & closing all day long, it feels like a mini earthquake everytime it happens, The neighbors (the Armenian ones) they gather every morning in the common area laughing chatting, moving metal chairs on the floor, & NO ONE SAYS ANYTHING TO THEM! because they are Armenians! RACISM IN ITS WORST SHAPE! Bedrooms are very small, bathroom barely fits one person, Kitchen closets won't fit our dish plates, Kitchen drawers barely fits your spoons & knives, closets are soo old & smelly, no matter hoe much you try to clean them. Garage sucks, dirty, entrance very steep no way to enter without scratchs Bath tub was partially clogged,we thought its slow in draining water , so we ignored after a month or so, it stops draining water, we report it, they send someone to fix it then without notice we receive a bill for (I guess $59) it wasn't our fault, & I fought them back, & ended up paying half of it. First year is done, they increase the rent $70, & asks for extra $70 for Deposit!!!! Garbage disposal comes every morning at about 6:30 am, its a towing truck, goes into the garage with reverse sounds (teet teeet teet) tows out the big garbage container it shakes the whole building , EVERY SINGLE MORNING! My wife graduates, gets a job, we decide to move, I read some reviews, people warns about Jasmin keeping about 3/4th of the security deposit for any silly reason! I play smart, I ask for initial inspection, finds out that they will charge you for paint, carpet shampooing, whole apartment cleaning, law sucks here, so I hire a company shampoo the carpet ($66 for both rooms) I hire the same painter they use to do touchups in the apartment ($120) & we clean every single corner in the house (all on the day of moving out), final inspection: they still need us to clean the windows & screens from outside (the street side) is that my fault! I keep arguing for an hour to get an agreement to pay $100 extra cleaning fee ( I SWEAR IT WAS CLEANER THAN WE GOT IT). we were lied to that they have pictures for scratches in wood floor when we first moved in, thank GOD I took pictures, otherwise she would charge me for that! I just moved out of a two bedroom apartment managed by gaska in glendale. I lived there three years and had an overall great experience. The rent was below market when I rented and that was a motivating factor. Didn't have significant rent increases--80 dollars over the three years. They were responsive to repairs that needed to be done and got someone out quickly and followed up. The grounds were clean and well kept. Would have liked online rent payment but don't offer that. read more

DO NOT MOVE INTO ANY OF THEIR LOCATIONS! I'm a single mom who lived in a building for far too long (3 years!) I've lived on my own around socal since college and this is the first time I've had to deal with ROACHEs. They're lazy af when you call for spray. They tell you it comes from outside- like duh the ground is dirty needs to be power washed. The water fall water is green and the management also sucks. I got locked out my place taking my kid to school and was told I need to call a locksmith because that wasn't her job to unlock my door... that was 2 ft away smh the trash is always overflowed and DURING A PANDEMIC THEY CHARGE YOU TO OAY RENT! Yep! Through a third party company which they "claim" they don't receive any funds for but the fee to pay rent goes up EVERY MONTH!!! Total fkn bullshit!! Plz save yourself the headache and go else where!!!!! Oh and they went up on the rent 100$ every year for 3 years.. ppl in the building I've talked to whose lived here longer say it's been going up!! A word of caution to people who want to rent a property from these people. - Expect them to jack up your rent as soon as your first year lease is up. Then You will be paying higher than market rent for similar properties in the area. - Expect to pay for building maintenance fees such as plumbing fees, even when you had nothing to do with causing a problem. - Expect them to jack up your rent if they decide to spend a few bux on their building maintenance (not because they want to, but because they have to) such as painting the common areas. That is, they will raise rent a few months before even they start work. - Expect to lose a big portion of your security deposit when you move out. They will charge for things they didn't fix and will not provide proper receipts for them. Make sure to take photos and document everything before you move out. - Do not expect them to clean the common areas or upkeep them in proper manner. - Do not expect them to fix or replace any fixtures in their apartment units that they are responsible for (ie. leaky faucets, non-functional garbage disposal, replacing ac filters, etc.). This company only cares about bottom line profits. They squeeze as much as possible from their tenants and provide as little as possible for what they charge. read more

If there was a negative rating I'd give them that because they don't even deserve one star. First off before they even approved us for a rental unit they made us go thru hell as if we were purchasing a home, should taken that as a red flag in the beginning and ran the opposite direction but didn't cause I really liked the apartment. Anyway, come the end of our lease we moved due to their increasing rent while they decreased rent for the new renters. Upon giving our 30 day notice we were informed by several other tenants old and current to be careful because they try to keep as much of your deposit as possible, money hungry assh*les. After that I made sure I'd give them as little reason as possible to do that so we had a pre moving inspection during which I broke the blinds trying to open to show the lady that it works just fine, she didn't care of course I was still charged. The next morning our last day there I cleaned the apartment top to bottom with bleach and left it spotless all while 8 weeks pregnant. I was sure there wasn't much they can keep but I was wrong, they kept 3/4 of our deposit all for stupid reasons, they said the toilet seat was too worn, they charged for cleaning, carpet washing, blinds, some spots, I don't know what else but it all added to alot. we called and faught with them so they returned the toilet seat money and half of the cleaning money. If I had known the laws of california I would have taken their ass to court and had my money returned because so much of it was not kept legally. Too bad I've passed my statute of limitations or else I'd take them now!!! After I left I learned that one of the managers from the company was telling my aunt how they take peoples money for no good reason because they know it won't be faught for, another lady who was living in the building said they charged her $30 per light bulb because she took the ones in the chandilier out, she called her lawyer at which point Gaska returned her money promptly. Honestly I hope they go out of business!! They are sick money hungry douches who are taking advantage of perfectly nice people who they know won't fight to get their money back either because they don't know the laws or don't want to go thru it. Do yourselves a favor and NEVER rent/lease from this stupid company. They think that they do everything by law. Yeah, right!! First off, I had a next door neighbor move in who owned a cat. As months passed, I sensed a weird awful odor from the walls and the staircase of my town home. I let the manager of building know, they didn't seem to care. All I got was "It's not polite for us to go and see what the house odor comes from". OK, GOT IT! More time passed, it got worse. My 5 year old started getting sick and so did the rest of my family. I asked the manager again, and got the same response. I called into GASKA to complain of the odor. Jasmine, the supervisor, or whatever her position is, said the same thing... that's it's not nice to go in and check to see where the odor is coming from. I called GASKA again and spoke with a lady named Seda, who said she had come by and smelled the outside door and couldn't smell any unusual odor. OK.... time flew by. It got worse. So finally these people moved out, and that's when it got ugly. The neighbor kept the kitty litter and let the damn cat piss all over the house. This caused all the bad odor, and the fact that my family was now allergic to all this, no one seemed to care. The managers themselves had to wear a mask to get inside. NO ONE SEEMED TO CARE ABOUT MY CONCERN. I had attempted to call the Health Department and Animal Control before all this. They asked me to raise my concern to the City of Glendale. Moving on... when the cleanup crew and the carpenters arrived, all I heard were curse words towards the people who used to live there and management. The were wearing the heavy duty masks and full on gear to clean this apartment out. It has been months and it's still empty. The odor still exists. GASKA doesn't give a crap about their tenants or the condition the units are in. All they want to do is fill their pockets every month and charge you for any natural wear and tear. They don't care for the important things. All Ms. Jasmine does is grabs her handy dandy camera and takes pictures of plants and patios to write you up. Like really BITCH??? How good are you to your so called company if you don't even care for the more important facts, like fowl odors, dirty ass laundries, trash compiled dumpsters, and ignorant building managers?? I wish I had seen the reviews before, the worst management company I have ever seen. At first, they act very friendly and greeted but at the end when you want to move out, they show they real face. We have been in their property for about 5 years and we did everything by ourselves to make it like our own house. It took them a month to fix a window!!! which we ended up paying more for electricity. They never came to sanitize the area cause there were lots of cockroaches, bugs and ants and we did it by ourselves. At the end, they asked us to professionally clean the house and wash the bedroom carpets which we did and gave the receipts, when we moved out they charges us so so huge even for the things we had done!!! Then I called to talk to manager who never ever showed up and I talked to several people except for him. So I called to housing center and they told me all of their charges are "natural wear and tear" and they shouldn't charge us. I wrote a letter asking them to correct it and after almost 40-45 days of calling several times and fake promises, they sent us back a very little amount. I wish I had taken photos before and after to show them what natural wear and tear means and how we kept the unit, but I had trusted them and it was our first renting experience, so People, please be aware of what you will be facing, take pictures and keep all the receipts for your records cause you definitely will be double charged!!!
