My honest thoughts after living here: What I Loved: Been my home for nearly 2 years. The amenities are solid. The pool is always clean, and that jacuzzi has been a lifesaver after long days. Most people here are super friendly, and the neighborhood is great for my evening walks. It's so green everywhere. There's a neat park nearby that's perfect for weekends. And the convenience! Restaurants, Trader Joe's, and Ralphs are just a short walk away. The staff? Can't praise them enough. Super helpful and quick to respond. If you're wondering, I'm only moving because my job's in Santa Monica and im tired of the commute. Otherwise, I'd stick around. And for those saying the rent's steep, clearly, you haven't checked out other spots on the west side. This place is a steal, in my new apartment on the west side is $3,150. Just saying :shrug What Could Be Better: My apartment's on the first floor, and honestly, the sunlight isn't the best. Though, they did offer a top-floor apartment that had great lighting when I moved in. My bad, i just wanted to be on the first floor. :facepalm Pro tip? Honestly we loved this appartment when we moved in and we called it home. We thought this was our home until our purchased one. But at this point our rent is same as a mortgage would be if we got a $600000 house. The pipes are in a worst state. I am embarrassed to use the bathroom upstairs if we have guests over because flush is heard downstairs. Idk how each flush is heard in appartment areas but I am guessing not any better. During Christmas we had a wall leak from rain, they fixed the actual leak about 4 days after. My mail is constantly stollen if God forbid it is delivered to the mailbox. I am disgusted to use the pool or the gym. Oh and gym has x amount of equipment and space. So if you have 3 people there thats crowded. I say try Avalon or other big chains coz I tried prado equity and it sacks. read more

Do Not Move In HERE!!!! The whole thing is slumlord scammers. Equity Apartments needs to be held accountable. I went months with no AC no Washer and Dryer and no Heater. I things I paid for. When they would "fix" it, it would be a slumlord special where the fix works for 3-5days then it's broken again. It's not just me with this issue, I discussed with my neighbors and everyone has the same issues. The city of Glendale needs to hold this business accountable. read more

I lived here for around eight years, and the first five were fine, but the last three were on the rougher side. Some info on the property... It is in a nice area, more residential, North of the 134 freeway, so you didn't have all of the traffic you have south of the 134. You can guy walk around, great for runs, etc. The property is kept pretty clean with people spraying out all the hallways with water, cutting and trimming bushes and trees, picking weeds, etc, regularly. Trash can get backed up at the trash area, but it is a big complex. As far as maintenance, if anything goes wrong, you can put in a request and it will usually be addressed within 24 hours, if not sooner. There is even an emergency contact for after hours should you need maintenance. All of the maintenance people are all very nice and helpful, they give this review a star in themselves. As far as amenities, there is a pool and spa, along with a fitness room (not much equipment however, and it is dated). There used to be Amazon lockers but those were removed Now, the apartments are not cheap, and Glendale passed a measure that allowed them to raise rent 8% per year. So, if your rent was $2000, that would be $160 it would go up. And this is yearly. I saw my tent go from $1600 to $2600 and nothing changed. I even asked for them to upgrade the inside, like new oven and stove, as the current residents had, but I was denied. So white nothing charges, rent increases dramatically. Also, with the on site leasing staff, then tend to change regularly now. It used to be the same people for years, but now they change them regularly for some reason. So you really aren't able to get to know the leasing office staff as you used to As far as which apartment torent, I was on the first floor most of my time there, and I would say don't rent on the first floor. All if the plumbing backs up to your unit on the first floor, so your sinks and toilets back up often. Also, the air conditioning unit likes to start leaking down into the middle of the hall (again, things getting backed up or clogged). People also like to their things (cigarettes, trash) onto your patio areas as they're alony the walkways on the first floor. One other thing, I would say do not rent apartment 120. That's the one I was in the last six years, and just so many issues there related to things explained earlier. The finish straw was coming home from vacation and the kitchen roof collapsing in with water damage as the apartment above kitchen flooded (always plumbing issues), and they kitchen became unusable, and then it started leaking into the living room..... just about 120 if you do possibly choose to rent at Prado. But, honestly, you can find far newer apartments with better amenities for the same or lower prices if you just look around. read more

do not live here. terrible communication. the fire alarms are INHUMANE. I can't describe the sound except that it is at a volume and pitch that my animals are terrified and it has been going on for HOURS. the alarms go off all the time in the building. whether it's testing or the alarm accidental goes off. they told us they would be testing today but they should have warned us to take our animals and children out of the building because this is human torture. It's actually making me feel crazy. This place is HELL. read more

I live in the Prado apartment, I have been living here for 10 months and I am very dissatisfied with the quality of service. If something is wrong with the house, the bathroom pipe is clogged or there are problems with the electricity, I write to them, call them, they answer me, saying that they will come. I am absent from work and stay at home, and they do not come. I even let them enter the house if I am not at home. They come to solve the problem only after 7-10 or more working days, and that is after calling several times. I'm looking forward to the end of my contract so I can leave here. read more

Terrible experience - do not recommend these apartments. When we moved in, the manager showed us the apartment and right away there was water leaking from the ceiling. Upstairs, a broken washing machine was running with dirty rags inside, and the water poured into our unit. When the technician finally came, he told us the machine was not repairable and we would have to wait one month for a replacement. During that time, we had no choice but to use the shared laundry, which was extremely inconvenient. The apartment was also full of insects, and despite the fact that management was supposed to clean before move-in, the unit was filthy. We had to ask them to come back and clean again. The bathroom floor had very old stains that looked like mold and could not be removed no matter how much we cleaned. The bathtub and toilets constantly clogged, creating even more problems. On top of that, the air conditioner was extremely loud -- every time it turned on, it sounded like an explosion, waking everyone up in the middle of the night. When we moved out, we left the apartment in perfect condition -- fully cleaned -- but management still refused to return our $800 security deposit. Instead, they charged us for extra days and applied our deposit to those charges. I have sent many emails, made many phone calls, but nothing could be resolved. The rent goes up every year, the pool was always dirty, and the parking lot constantly had standing water. We are preparing to take this case to court. I strongly warn others: do not rent here. The quality does not match the high price, and management is unprofessional. read more

Unfair Fees and Unethical Practices I lived at Prado Apartments, managed by Equity Residential, for over 8 years and had always considered it my home. However, my move-out experience has been a nightmare, and it's clear that management prioritizes profit over fairness and ethics. In December 2024, I provided "written notice of my intent to vacate", which is all that California law and our lease requires: December 12, 2024: I informed Equity Residential via email that I would not be renewing my lease and would be moving out. December 15, 2024: I sent another email specifying our move-out date as February 17, 2025, the final day of our lease. Despite this, Prado Apartments and their General Manager, Alex Amirkhanian, are attempting to charge me a $1,500 insufficient notice fee (later "reduced" to $800). Their claim? That my email's phrasing of "I think our move-out date will be 2/17" invalidates my notice. This is legally and ethically baseless. California law requires only written notice of intent to vacate, which I clearly provided. My legal consultant has confirmed this is an open-and-shut case, and no reasonable California judge would side with Equity Residential in this predatory attempt to extract an unjust fee. This behavior is especially shameful after I was a loyal tenant for over 8 years. It's a slap in the face to long-term residents who deserve fair treatment. Equity Residential and Prado Apartments are engaging in predatory billing practices, exploiting tenants they assume won't fight back. I strongly advise against renting from Prado Apartments or any Equity Residential property. If you value honesty, fairness, and transparency, look elsewhere. If management can betray a long-term tenant like me, they'll likely do the same to others. UPDATE: Do not believe their corporate PR reply. I did not give a "potential" date, I gave a specific date of 2/17, the exact date our lease ends. And I don't know why they're lying about the California Civil Code Section 1946.1. It only says "written notice of intent to vacate", that's the same terminology used in our signed lease, which I clearly provided 60 days before our lease end date. Do not be misled, I am on the right side of the law, not Prado. Fortunately, this is no longer in local management's hands. I have submitted a Better Business Bureau complaint directly to Equity Residential corporate. My lawyer friend has also run me through the small claims court process, so we'll be filing there, to not only waive our fee but to make sure a precedent is set, so Prado Apartments can never enforce scam fees like this ever again for future tenants. Also shoutout to Kristin, the former GM at Prado who was wonderful and just the best, this new management team needs to reevaluate how they treat tenants. read more

If it was possible to leave 0 star I would . The Guy who was sitting in the leasing office was the worst one. He gave us the key which wasn't door key and forgot to tell us the door code . My eldest daughter has lived at Prado for 10 years and loves the convenient location and complex! So it was no coincidence when my youngest daughter was moving to LA for work that she wanted to rent from Prado! So she reached out to Kristin at the leasing office to get information on availability, pricing, etc. Kristin is very professional and efficient! She was very prompt and responsive to all of her emails and questions! When she arrived to Glendale, manager Maydel, was extremely helpful in helping her decide which apt would be the best! Luckily, it is on the same floor as her sister! Maydel made the whole moving in process so easy and stress free plus answering all of her questions! What great Customer service! This apartment complex is not what it's advertised to be. Our move-in experience was sub-par; we were told one price just to be presented with a lease that showed a higher monthly rent. The issues haven't ended there. We have lived here for a few months now, and we constantly have cigarette smoke entering our apartment from surrounding neighbors, even though the complex is advertised as being smoke free. It is NOT smoke free, and management refuses to do anything to stop others from smoking in places like balconies, the pool, and the garages. The constant cigarette smoke limits us from using our balcony and is now making our belongings wreak of the stench. Prado should NOT be advertised as a smoke-free apartment complex. Elevator maintenance is non-existent, and several of the elevators lurch to a stop when they are reaching their floors. The elevator inspection code is months out of date, with Prado claiming it is the cities' fault. Additionally, there are coyotes that have been hanging in and around the complex for several weeks, putting residents and their pets in danger. With new issues arising, it's hard to have faith that management will do anything at this point. Future renters beware - Prado is not great. Think long and hard about considering to rent from Prado. read more

I think they are paying people to leave nice reviews. Let me show you proof that this place is run down and an absolute nightmare to live in. I woke up this morning to a dead cockroach next to me. I've always seen cockroaches throughout the hallways, but I never saw that they would end up in my apartment. This building is so old and management. Doesn't care about the roach problem if you don't mind living with cockroaches, then be my guest. in addition, the staircase is collapsing. It's so old that if you put your foot on the picture that I have attached, it feels like you're sinking and I definitely feel like this is a liability. Everything about living in the Prado is dysfunctional. They'll charge you $3000 for rent but nothing in your apartment works. Your drains will clog constantly, they use cheap fixtures for everything and you don't even get a real shower. It's all plastic!! the garage doors break down frequently, the elevators are ancient and super slow. Management has focused on installing keyless locks for us and painting the doors blue instead of actually fixing the interior and things like the garage doors and leaking pipes. When you get an apartment here at Prado, you get an app that allows you to communicate with other neighbors and you should see all of the complaints week after week from residents about this place and management does nothing. I say this because I know that the other reviews that are listed below me that are five stars are probably friends and family of management and this is a pretty accurate depiction of what it's like to live there. read more

Location is great. Staff and neighbors are fairly nice. I feel this area safe and calm. But this property is not managed properly considering the monthly rent. Units are old, and public space like parking lots, swimming pool, hallways are not maintained clean. And the office looks like they don't care much about it. Considering there are bunch of brand new leasing apartments a block away just across the street, I doubt to choose Prado again. I lived here for a couple of years and loved it. The only reason I moved out was because I took a job in another city, otherwise I would still be a resident. During my time living here the maintenance staff was professional and quick to respond to repairs, the staff was friendly and very helpful, and the area in general was nice and safe. The only issue I ever had with the complex was the community washers and dryers would tend to break often. But even then there was still enough available machines to do my laundry. read more

The office staff were great, the hallways were clean and everything (garage door, elevators) were always in good working order. Oh, what a change. Prado Apartments is in such a clean and nice area, Great Mountain View's, School friendly and Family Friendly Area. Came to View A Townhouse with a friend and she loved it. I also loved it. Kelvin the Leasing Agent Helped us and he was super friendly and on top of things! It's hard to come by leasing agents that will walk you through everything step by step. This team deserves a five star review because of their hard work and because they do their best to make our living experience the best possible. This community not new but it's well kept and the service team is always available to help. They always respond quickly to service request and they're always very friendly. For the prices around this area, this is such a great deal. Location is pretty ideal and it's such a walkable area. My dog loves her daily walks and I appreciate feeling safe walking around the neighborhood. We have Ralph's, Trader Joe's, Coffee Bean, Walgreens, and much more just a walk away. And, it's a quick drive away to The Americana and Glendale Galleria. Can't get better than that. I have to thank the manager Alex and his staff for always doing the best they can. Instead of having the things they need to make proper maintenance on the apartment they remove things thay are needed. Recently they decided that the amazon hub was not needed despite frequent complaints of packages being stolen from in front of doors. They painted the halls but replaced the damage floor trim woth cheap rubber that has already started peeling up in some places. There has been theft and damage to property in the garage they have ignored request for security cameras to combat the issue. Last year our bathroom flooded due to poor maintenance of the sewage systems. We had to live woth raw sewage in our bathroom for a month because they refused to believe it got under our floor and only offered a paltry reduction in rent. Since then our walls have gotten moldy in the bathroom because they didn't repaint them woth the roght kind of paint afyer the pipes above burt and they had torepair the ceiling. Yet every year the increase the rent while these issues persist. The gym here is falling apart but they don't replace the damage equipment or remove it. I suggest finding anything else besides renting here. Will be moving out asap. read more

This place and the parent company Equity Apartments are truly abhorrent. After an honestly wonderful move-in where I gave Kristen 5 stars for being really attentive, helpful and understanding, it was all downhill from there. But at that point, they already had my money and couldn't give a sh*t about anything else. They didn't tell me (and yes, it is in the digital-only copy or the lease I skimmed, so my bad) that there was a 5% late fee - which I do consider to be out of the ordinary and should have been verbally mentioned but hey ho, my fault for not looking carefully enough. Oh, and then there's the $56 'convenience fee' if you want to make a rental payment by credit card - again, something that was never communicated. How about the fire alarm system going off repeatedly? Once at 6am for a false alarm, then the other night at 11.55pm. There was noone from Prado on site and when the firemen eventually turned up to amble around it took another 45mins to find and fix the problem. So the alarm went silent at 12.50am.....only to sound again for another 25mins at 1.10am. Or the lack of any security systems like cctv or even regular guard patrols? The other comments on how ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS TAKING YOUR MONEY are right - which, again, would be just about tolerable if they invested even a single bloody penny back into the properties, which they don't. All hardware and equipment is bargain-basement, bottom-of-the-line, cheap shit. Stay away like plague lives here. read more

I work here and I love it. The maintenance team is the most experienced I've worked with and I learn a lot from them. They are hard working, dedicated employees who give their best everyday for the residents and the team. The leasing office staff is also an outstanding group that are fun to work with. Overall the residents are very nice and friendly. We do our best to meet their needs and provide a clean, safe and attractive place they can call home and live remarkably. I really had better expectations when I first started contact with them, but then it all turned so horrible. A couple of weeks before moving to the US, I contacted them for a 2 bedroom apartment, and since I had no credit history they asked for more documents, and once I'd provide them, they'd ask for more. I arrived to the US with my family, and they were still asking for different documents. So they wasted so much of my time by asking for a co-signer, then instead for a higher deposit, then asking for a co-signer again. And of course all this through emails which would sometimes take hours to get a reply back and whenever I would call, ironically, the person could not come to the phone, I'd be asked for my phone number so that she would call me back, but instead, I'd get another email couple of hours later with no callback. And this happened 3 times in 2 days!!!! I then went to Avalon who's staff were more than delightful and approved my request in 30 mins!!! With simply an extra deposit!!!!! read more

The two stars are purely for the maintenance staff and agents in the leasing office. They are always so polite and are literally on top of everything. However, unless you are living on the top floor you will constantly hear the person above you walking and stomping around ALL the time. It sounds like elephants live above you, no joke. So if you do move here make sure you have a top floor apartment. Also on weekend there is someone who plays very loud and obnoxious music. I have never found out where it comes from but made a formal complaint that obviously was never resolved. Also be prepared to see ROACHES. Lots and lots of roaches. I complained my first month that I would report them to the board of health if I ever saw another roach. They claimed they have the places sprayed and have a bug person come out. I used to find dead roaches in the hallway all the time but ever since I complained they had the cleaning crew start removing them. But low and behold I just killed a huge cockroach in my apartment right now. Needless to say I am moving out. Not only because of roaches. But because they decided to up the rent $200. And they send you the new lease agreement with the increase barely 30 days before you would have to give notice of intent to move. Not giving you a lot of time to find a new place. Also when they do the walk through, they will estimate an absurd amount for cleaning fees when you move out. Absolutely ridiculous. The fire alarm is so LOUD that you want to jump off of your balcony. It will also go off in the middle of the night. Cars race in the middle of the night and you can always hear a train at night time. Earplugs are useful. Perks: 24 hour gym (mind you not a lot of equipment), Nice pool and spa. Also laundry is done by money card, not quarters which is refreshing. Now I'm moving to one of the brand new apartments in Glendale who gave me 6 weeks free and $1,000 off. Bye Bye Prado. read more

I have lived in this apartment building for 3 years i am a very satisfied with the staff of Prado. I agree that cars by Dryden drives way fast but that is not controlled by the management. People who writes comments here need to give their concerns back to management to have it resolve. Shout out to Kristine she always reply back when you email her! I would never recommend this place to anyone. The Leasing manager especially Michelle is rude and never response to messages unless there is something that she needs from you. When you first move in, they don't go over all the hidden fees that will be charged and taken out of your deposit once you move out. The 12 month leases are designed to lock you in without any fair way out. They only give you 30-day notice (when promised 45-60 days) for you to sign a new lease or to move out. Their month to month leases are outrageous. Just a heads up, Dryden is a very loud and a busy street at all times. Cars race down that street especially at night. They charge you excessive cleaning fees, so make sure you are present for the walk-through. We lived there for 2 years and the place went through a construction/remodeling phase that took months (5+ months) longer than they promised, while we didn't have access to our patio. Multiple cars and apartment units have been broken into within the last 2 years. The building alarm system is a joke, it goes off all the time especially middle of the night. The only good thing that we experienced was that the maintenance team was always on time and friendly. read more

Prado is the first apartment complex I lived in when I moved to LA a year ago. From getting into the apartment to transitioning out, Kathryn Morgan (Kat) has been an angel to work with. Kat went above and beyond for all my needs throughout my 12 months at Prado. Kat was able to get me and my two co-workers into a unit in only a two day time period that has a beautiful view of the Verdugo Mountain Range. I can go on and on, but the staff of Prado is incredible and will help when they can. I would recommend this complex to all my close friends and family. read more
