At the royal palms the food truck du jour was this place. Didn't actually notice it much later at night that there were food options available. Finally wakes over to the truck and decided on sharing a few nachos with our very hungry large group. Talked to the very nice man in the truck. He was the server, cashier and cook. Man of many talents. Got our very plain relatively bland round tortilla chips with pumped nacho cheese. Nothing really to write home about but the guy in the truck was quite nice.

Right outside my hotel. That's like room service, right?

So very good. Got a cheesesteak with mushrooms and provolone and I wasn't disappointed. Loved the salty fries, too.

I pass this place daily, zoomin' by I'd see Philadelphia something. The video gave a full explanation and why I need to put Philadelphia Grille in my lunch rotation. Walking inside, I know what I want. Steak with white american cheese with the works (onions, peppers, and hot peppers) There's an option for mayo, I'm not sure who's getting mayo on their cheesesteak but hey, you do you! The owner comes to the front and I tell him I saw this spot on social media. Everything looks amazing, I can't wait to try my sandwich. How long have you been in business? I'm expecting 18 months, he tells me over 30 years?? Wow! Not only is Philadelphia Grille a sandwich shop but they're also serving pizza for decades. I must point out, Philadelphia Grille is a very small spot. Walking inside, you're faced with a small counter. Once you have your food, they have tables and chairs in a covered lanai. I'd be a chilly Billy eating my sandwich so I took it to go. Once I get back to my Brooklyn Fortress of Solitude I dig in. The cheesesteak my way? Dynamite. Italian bread from Brooklyn wrapping up a cheesy meat fest. Philadelphia Grille did everything right in Brooklyn! I can't wait to come back and try the roast pork. And then mix it up the following week with a grilled chicken sammy.

The fries were a bit too much old bay so probably could have done without those. The wings and cheesesteak were excellent! They didn't skimp on the meat for the cheesesteak and the bread was perfect. To drink I had a couple rounds of the Dirty Water which was definitely made with love from our bartender. Would absolutely travel to the city and make this an Eagles watch part routine. Allow me to put it in perspective, this is gas station food on steroids. Located in Red Hook (and all it takes is to go outside and see you are in Red Hook), this nondescript bodega serves up one heck of a sandwich that will have you thinking, did I just eat that? This is not your ordinary New York bodega, this is the shop of General Ock, who sells various sandwiches in his renowned Ocky Way. So what is the Ocky Way? The Ocky Way is not just a sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and onions, it is also about presentation and style. The sandwich is made loudly with a flair for the dramatic, from the time your food hits the flat top to when it is center cut and put in a clamshell container. What about the food? It really is pretty good! I got the Chopped Cheese the Ocky Way and it was something I really enjoyed. I recommend you get it with the Jamaican Patty as that is what makes the flavors work best. You can also do it with a waffle or pancake or whatever bread you like. All you have to do is scarf it down. You can also put your own toppings on your sandwich if you want for an extra premium à la Farmer in the Deli style. Farmer in the Deli is another well known bodega in Fort Greene, known for finely chopping their meat into a sandwich, one I highly recommend as well. Even after writing this review, I still cannot believe what I ate here. Before I finish this review, I have to say one more thing. Neva neva neva forget to get a drink with your order!
