Garcia's is such a great spot in downtown Buda! The food is absolutely delicious and the margarita was super strong (granted, I'm a lightweight ). The staff is always friendly and the newly remodeled interior looks fantastic. We also love sitting on the covered porch which is perfect for extra seating and enjoying the atmosphere.

Pappa Ranchera potato egg and bacon.

I ordered a Papa Ranchera taco from Garcias Mexican in Buda, and to be honest, I was extremely disappointed. Anyone who's ever ordered Papa Rancheras here before knows exactly what to expect -- potatoes cooked in a flavorful ranchera sauce, with that signature red color and seasoning. What I received was completely different: just plain potatoes, eggs, and bacon in a tortilla, with no sauce or flavor. It looked like something thrown together without care, and definitely not what I paid for. I spoke with Esmeralda, who claimed to be the manager, and she told me this location is owned by a different family member and therefore "does things differently." I explained to her that the sign outside still says Garcias Mexican, and as a customer, I expect the same quality and consistency at any location under that name. That's part of what builds trust with a brand. Her response didn't address the issue -- and honestly, it made the experience even more frustrating. I've been a customer of Garcias for years and have always associated the name with good food and consistency. This visit did not reflect that standard. If this location is going to operate differently, customers deserve to know upfront -- or better yet, they should raise their quality to match the reputation that the Garcias name is known for.

This restaurant was recently reopened, and the food was absolutely delicious. I've been to another location before and enjoyed the food so I decided to give this place a try. The chips were very crunchy and complimented very well with the salsa. The shrimp were huge and very flavorful, the charro beans are highly recommended. The staff were very friendly, and the restaurant was very clean. If you're in town I recommend going to this restaurant.

My fiancé and I came here again for dinner last night, and had another great experience. Rosie was our waitress this time and she did a great job taking care of us. As for the food, the guacamole was solid. The steak Cozumel my fiancé got was really good. And the fajita quesadillas with chicken were solid, with a very large portion size. Prices were very reasonable too. Another good experience here. We will be back again!

I had the Garcia's deluxe. I've been to this location since it opened and it's consistently great. Nothing was left in that picture. It's a lot of food at a great price/. Great bang for the buck at $13.95. The waitresses was very attentive and the atmosphere here is your typical central Texas home converted into a restaurant. They play recorded conjunto/tejano music while dining in.

I'm never sure how it's going to go at ethnic/cultural restaurants, but since I LOVE non-American food I was up for giving Garcias a try... The waitstaff we had was awesome! She helped make sure my omelet was cooked separately so it was truly gluten free... and it was delicious to boot! Hubs had some other thing that he said was delicious and honestly, I was so enamored by my delicious, huge omelet I hardly paid enough attention to grab a photo of his food. It's a bit of a tiny place, but homey and felt like family. I'm so glad our local friend recommended it and we took time to meet her there!

My husband and I visited Garcias while we were passing through Buda. We were seated quickly and our waitress took our order quickly, but then kind of of forgot about us. The food came out fast and everything was good. I wouldn't say top quality, but decent. The water and tea tasted funky. Their prices were reasonable and they seemed to stay busy while we were there on a Friday. They also have some lunch specials that include a drink in the price.

As you walk in, you'll notice the building space has a store front where the sell other retail items besides food. You have to walk to the back to place your order at the counter, just follow your nose as you can smell the baked goodness in the air. You can see the bakers hard at work making everything fresh from scratch. I look at the display case of goodies and know I'll be leaving with more than I came on for. I look over the menu and order the croissant breakfast sandwich with sausage and 3 Danishes (cheese, blueberry, and strawberry). When they call my name, I pick up the order and find a seat in the neighboring spot which sell coffee, tea, and other drinks (see separate review for Meridian). The croissant breakfast sandwich comes with a scrambled egg, sliced link sausage and a green salsa that has a nice heat to it. The croissant itself it nicely toasted and just crumbles in your mouth as you take your first bite. The sandwich is hearty and will fill you up. When I get back home, I try the blueberry Danish and it's as good as it looks. Flaky crust with a great blueberry center filling. If you're ever in Buda, you should come and try the Teal House.

I have to say this was some of the best shrimp and grits I've had. The portion was perfect, not too heavy on the grits and plenty of gravy, perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked jumbo shrimp. As I looked over the menu, I realized that they have some amazing seafood choices and their raw oysters on the half shell are very high-quality for the area. Our service was wonderful. Our server was very attentive and offered coffee refills on the regular. The restaurant itself and bar are so well decorated. It's such a comfortable place. What makes it even better is they have a huge covered outdoor area for overflow or if you just want to sit outside. Everything about Taste on Main makes it one of my favorites in the area. I will definitely be back, I may become a regular.

The bathrooms are just spectacular here. I was greeted, seated, and waited on by a charming worker. Predictably, I ordered the Denver omelette because it's my go-to breakfast anytime it's available. It came out hot, complete, and with a beautiful presentation. The bell peppers were not as tasty as I'd hoped but the dynamite ham more than made up for it. The hash browns were okay but didn't really taste all that good. Not like the rest of the meal. The toast with butter and jam were top notch. I liked the substantial metal flatware and plates but wished the iced tea glasses could be larger. All in all it was just what I needed to face another day of work.

This place knows pancakes with four all the time specialty flavors (pineapple, strawberry, cinnamon…read moreroll and banana), one specialty (currently sticky toffee) and the basic buttermilk. While they claim to be a breakfast / brunch restaurant, all of the options I saw on the menu are breakfast options (no burgers, no salads, soups, sandwiches, etc ). So if you like endless variations on eggs and some creative pancakes / French toast this place is for you. If one or more in your party want something different, they may not feel very excited with the menu. They have quite an extensive menu beyond pancakes if that's not your thing. They have a specialty bacon that I really enjoyed with a stack of strawberry pancakes. The wife went with two eggs, two bacon, hashbrowns, substituted the sticky toffee pancake for the bread options. She thoroughly enjoyed the eggs, bacon and pancake. The hashbrowns were a bit of a miss. They tried to do something unique with the potatoes and they were not the right texture, being on the mushy side of things. Service was competent and prompt. The wife had decaf coffee and while it was quite good, our server could have been more attentive in keeping her cup full. The inside decor seemed unremarkable to me. With no partitions to speak of, it was louder than most places. On the positive side, it we clean, comfortable and well maintained. Definitely a place to return to when we are in the area looking for brunch.

The restaurant is nice. It includes a little market in one section with various food items that you can purchase. There is also a seating area with couches near the market section. The restaurant has different sized tables for seating. Not long after being seated we were greeted by a waiter that did an excellent job taking care of us the entire time we were there. He took our drink order, gave us menus and some time to decide what we wanted. After a few minutes he brought us our waters and took our order. We ordered several items. El Olivo which is a garlic bread. It was okay. The bread was good. It was nice and warm and the garlic flavor was all on top. Whipped Feta which comes with grilled Naan and cucumber slices. The Naan was okay. It was a little cold and needed to be warmed up a little more for my liking but my kids ate it up. The cucumbers were fresh and crisp and the whipped feta was pretty good. It had a slight lemon flavor but not enough to where you could taste the lemon with every bite. Pork belly chicharron which had pork with avacado covered in a sauce. It came with tortilla chips. The tortilla chips were thick and crispy. Perfect for scooping up some of the pork belly. The pork belly was delicious. The sauce that covered it added flavor and the avacado was fresh. The Lamb chops came with Lamb, carrots and a puree. The lamb itself was excellent. It was cooked perfectly and was tender with each bite. The carrots were slightly sweet and the puree was soft. It was a good mix of different textures with each bite. The Truffle mac and cheese was a macaroni and cheese with chives and truffle flavor. This was very tasty. The macaroni was tender, the chives were spread out and added that slight onion flavor. The cheese was very flavorful. One of my kids ate almost all of this. Barbacoa Doughnuts which are mini doughnuts filled with barbacoa topped with a salsa. I don't really like barbacoa but I tried them and was pleasantly surprised. These were delicious. It was basically a soft and warm mini doughnut filled with flavorful barbacoa. The sauce on it added a slight spicy flavor. Patatas Bravas are potatoes with salsa and a garlic aioli sauce. These were very tasty. That salsa and aioli sauce are what gave this dish all of its yummy flavor. The potatoes had a crispy exterior with a soft interior. All of the ingredients mixed together made a very good side dish. One of my sons ordered the Dos Olivos Burger with Tater Tots. He said that the burger was okay. I tried it and I agreed. The tater tots were good. He ate those up with some ketchup. My other son ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwiches with everything on the side. He substituted a salad instead of the fries. He ate the salad up. He also ate the Fried chicken from the sandwich. He said it was good. He is not a fan of sesame seed bread so he opted not to eat the bun. I tried the red cabbage apple slaw that it comes with and it was okay. Lastly I ordered the Beet Salad which comes with beets, pears, and candied pecans. I don't usually eat beets but I wanted to try it. It was very good. The beet chunks were large and soft but not overly soft. The pears and the candied pecans added a crispier texture and the mixture of all of the ingredients along with the sauce that was on it made this a super sweet beet salad. Almost like a dessert. It was delicious. Overall the restaurant is a cool spot to visit. The market is a neat addition that adds to the ambiance of the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.
