This coffee shop continues to be one of my all time faves. Even after years gone by. I first had their coffee in 2019, and now every time I come to Texas I try to stop in. This time it was great, per usual. The coffee itself is boasted to be wood fired as the roasting method, and what I also love is their proprietary creamer called "moon juice". It's creamy and sweet and pairs very nicely with their coffee. This time I actually bought a bottle of the moon juice and will attempt to bring it home with me. For my drink, I ordered a triple moon shaker, which i was told by barista is that it's meant to be more coffee forward vs sweet. It's 3 shots espresso and moon milk, It was perfect. I also had a small breakfast burrito and a pop tart looking pastry. I liked everything. This Buda location is cute, next to an antique shop and some other local shops I didn't check out due to time constraints. Staff was friendly and speedy, it was a busy Saturday morning when I arrived. Delicious lattes here! One of the gems in Buda. I love the half moon lattes as it's not too sweet. They're known for their moon milk in their lattes and it's the best part. We sometimes purchase the moon milk on its own from them and then use it with our espresso we make at home (best value for tasty coffee) It's small cafe but has outdoor and indoor seating. Parking is a little tricky but some in front of the cafe or a bigger lot across the street: Service is good. read more

Of course I had to stop at a coffee shop in Texas. Went here in April for a quick pick me up. I couldn't figure out what I wanted so I had to look at their menu online. I finally found what I was looking for. They had a lavender drink so it's a must for me ( I always look for this flavor first). I ordered the iced blue moon latte. The service here is TERRIBLE. The people who work here NEVER greet you when you walk in and are so rude when taking your order. They don't say thank you, they don't respond when you say thank you. They just stand there asking you, what else? What else? don't even give you eye contact and then don't say have a nice day. I had to say thank you the girl twice in order for her to respond back. ABSOLUTELY HATE coming to this location. Whoever the manger is at the location should really think of some customer service training, because your staff here lacks it very much. I love this place. The service is always great. I've never waited longer than a few minutes for my coffee and pastry (when I get one). There's seating indoors and outdoors, which is nice! Came here after an early morning walk with a friend. It's on Buda's main street so the parking in front of the building was a bit difficult when leaving but that's just what it is for the area. The shop itself is small with a modern feel. It's clean and functional. A typical coffee shop with typical fare (pastries mostly). We came on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy with people constantly coming and going. Even with that, the staff were friendly and attentive. The customer volume never changed their quality of service. They were even sure to clean the tables as customers were leaving. We sat for a while and were never rushed to leave to make room for other patrons. Even though I got a basic mocha, it was good and the service was fast. I think the pricing here is fair. It was about $6 for a normal (med) sized coffee. I'd come back here after another walk. Maybe even making that a tradition! read more

Austin is a melting pot of cultures, ideas, interests and tastes thus it would be fair some of these sentiments spill over to the outlying communities. So, when I meandered on mainstreet in Buda I saw a familiar friend, Summermoon coffee. While parking can sometimes be a challenge, I've never had to park more than 50 yards from their wonderful establishment. Walking up to the facility from the quaint street view one's eyes are drawn to the simplistic and rustic building adorned by the frugal plastic seating outside. It's a warm vibe, something the mind's eye paints when thinking of a lazy day at a coffee shop. The inside is a mishmash of furniture dark for most of the tones in the tables, floors, while the seating is a plethora of seats and the walls are white and turquois; all anchored and rightfully so by the ordering counter. The kitchen area buzzes with barista's flying around, grinding beans to make coffee to order. There are things other than coffee to order. Swag like Summermoon shirts, bags, and get this coffee mugs! Another option are pastries and more specifically the homemade pop tarts. Trust me when I say, get a mixed berry pop tart, you'll thank me later. It bursts with flavor, the crust is flaky and every bite is better than the last. Also try the kombucha as a side treat. To those who are uninitiated it's a very healthy fermented and effervescent tea which can be either sour or tart, depending on how you taste beverages with various flavors being available. My favorite happens to be the basil honey ginger. But lets get on to the star of the show, coffee, shall we? Summermoon is different in that they roast their beans with a wood fire and believe me you can really taste it, especially when the closer to black you get it. I will say I'm not a cold coffee drinker as when coffee is cold, I'm not drinking it. So, I have a mental block but when it's hot I'm in heaven. My first suggestion is the "quarter" mocha moon latte. The quarter represents the "moon milk" that's added which is wonderful but, again I like my coffee on the darker side. The flavors are deep you can almost be whisked away to sitting by a fire sipping a good cup of Jo with hints of chocolate. The moon milk offers a nice sweetener while the dairy rounds out the flavor. My next favorite is the Summer Moon Latte, their signature latte. It's very smooth and while not having the complex flavor profile as the mocha, it stands out by being a lot more even experience. Summermoon offers a locally owned and operated experience which is second to none. What is key to note that when you visit them, you're not supporting some company in the north west, but your neighbors whom you might run into on occasion. Also the staff at all locations are friendly and warm as I spend time talking with anyone who looks bored (yes I'm a chatter). But more than anything when you visit Summermoon, you're getting a great cup of coffee that surpasses other options. read more

Staff was rude Used to like this place but no customer service. Expect a tip when you pay before you have even received or tasted your coffee. They placed our coffee at the pickup window and when I want to pick it up they refused to make eye contact so I could ask for sweetener. When finally they did ask me what I wanted, the lady basically threw it under the window at me. Then proceeded to ignore me again as I patiently waited for her to acknowledge me again so I could ask for a stirrer. Visited this morning. LOVE SummerMoon but a little disappointed in this mornings service. I'm glad that the girls are so sweet but for the amount of them there they were very slow on service and they made the wrong drink for my husband so he was upset. He specifically asked for no spice and they added the spice. This will not deter me from going there. Just saying that customers come first. read more

Absolutely loved this place! It was my first time in Texas, and I love visiting coffee shops, so when Summer Moon Coffee came up on Yelp, I had to try it! What drew me in was the promise of their proprietary "moon milk," which I can't try anywhere else. I got the mocha moon with quarter moon milk, as previous reviewers recommended to start with a quarter amount of moon milk. I'm glad I listened! The moon milk already had sweetness to it, so adding mocha to it would've been overtly sweet if I went with more than a quarter moon milk. I also loved the decor, and how the tables were like repurposed sewing tables! The light fixtures were covered with upside down metal egg baskets. The coffee is consistently delicious here whether drip, espresso or a latte. The folks here care about getting it right! I love the flavor Quarter Moon latte, but it's a little too sweet for me. The server made suggestions and modified it for me. Then had me try it and added more coffee when I still found it too sweet. It turned out wonderfully!
