The cheese danish here is the best I've ever had. Seriously. Flaky, buttery pastry, lots of cheese, and big enough to share if you're feeling generous. Get there early, though 'cause I think they're usually sold out by around noon. I also tried a kolache here for the first time and loved it, but be prepared for DOUGHY if that's your jam. Pun possibly intended. I don't drink coffee, so I can't speak to that, but the bakery is inside Meridian, which is worth a visit on its own. They have a tincture wall, and the bar next door actually uses some of them in mocktails. I've had one and really enjoyed it. Meridian also has a really nice selection of quality gifts. I've got my eye on the pillows in the back, and after my last visit I'm also tempted by one of the comfy-looking dresses. There's plenty of seating next door too, where I try to make it regularly for the free Tuesday comedy night. Five stars for that cheese danish alone. Just don't sleep in. read more

Today I ordered the cinnamon roll and breakfast sandwich with bacon and wow, this place is incredible! I ordered delivery and it was at my house ten minutes before I had expected it which was really great and quick. The breakfast sandwich was on a delectable croissant with perfectly cooked eggs, cheese and tasty bacon. The cinnamon roll was so soft, dripping with the most luscious topping. Never in a million years would we have expected to find a second Teal House in Buda, Texas, of all places. According to Cristiano, store manager, both the Austin and Buda locations share the same owner, although each offers a unique experience. One key difference is that Teal House does not serve coffee. Instead, coffee is available next door at Meridian through the businesses' shared entrance. Teal House focuses on baked goods including breakfast tacos, breads, and pastries. Cristiano shared that their cinnamon rolls have won awards, which naturally made us curious enough to try them ourselves. Quite honestly, we were pleasantly surprised. The cinnamon rolls were soft, flavorful, and loaded with icing. If we had to make one suggestion, it would be to offer a version with pecans, our favorite type of cinnamon roll. Teal House is also a boutique and wellness-oriented space that offers a variety of medicinal products displayed along one huge wall. The service is great and we love grabbing a drink at meridian after we pick up our treats. We are so thankful this is in Buda and just have nothing but great things to say. Few things here....the sausage breakfast sandwich I ordered was pretty good,great flavor. But speed of service is definitely not their strong point, took almost 10 minutes to get my one sandwich. While I waited I decided I wanted a cold drink from the cooler, literally next to the counter I ordered the sandwich from. In Buda up from San Antonio to pick up an online order early in the morning, I come across the Teal House and stop for a quick bite to eat based on their high Yelp rating. As you walk in, you'll notice the building space has a store front where the sell other retail items besides food. You have to walk to the back to place your order at the counter, just follow your nose as you can smell the baked goodness in the air. You can see the bakers hard at work making everything fresh from scratch. I look at the display case of goodies and know I'll be leaving with more than I came on for. I look over the menu and order the croissant breakfast sandwich with sausage and 3 Danishes (cheese, blueberry, and strawberry). When they call my name, I pick up the order and find a seat in the neighboring spot which sell coffee, tea, and other drinks (see separate review for Meridian). The croissant breakfast sandwich comes with a scrambled egg, sliced link sausage and a green salsa that has a nice heat to it. The croissant itself it nicely toasted and just crumbles in your mouth as you take your first bite. The sandwich is hearty and will fill you up. When I get back home, I try the blueberry Danish and it's as good as it looks. Flaky crust with a great blueberry center filling. If you're ever in Buda, you should come and try the Teal House. read more

Teal House offers a welcoming atmosphere and great live music on Sundays. Their bakery makes incredible pastries and sandwiches with some gluten free options which is a plus. Their craft coffees are also on point. Would definitely come back to try everything on their menu. We even bought a small plant pot from their gift shop. Highly recommend! read more

Have gone to the buda location numerous times to be told we don't have the ingredients for a grilled pimento cheese. A little frustrating when these are weeks to months inbetween. Just take it off the menu. Last straw was this morning. When I went in to get a vegan cinnamon roll I was told we don't make those anymore. Y'all. I don't care if you visit this location or the one on Congress but visit ONE. Croissants and kolaches perfection! They have a good number of menu items based on the croissants and kolaches. Their cinnamon croissant is what both my inner and outer fat boy was needing this morning. Tore into that bad boy as we had our kolaches heating up in our air fryer (pro tip 250° for 5 minutes). You sliced in this bad boy and you find layer upon crispy layers of dough, cinnamon, and brown sugar, all sitting below a beautifully home made icing that was generously dolloped on top. Sadly, I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I had to slice it into threes to share with the wife and son. Insert sad face here. We also got a chocolate croissant that was also fantastic. Like the croissant cinnamon roll, I had to share that too. Good thing their croissants are pretty massive so we all got and ample sample. Their chocolate was delicious: it was like dark chocolate and hazelnut. It was definitely a great experience as you have all these textures and flavors as you bite into it. Their kolaches? What can i say? We ordered the brisket and cheese, sausage and cheese, and jalapeno sausage and cheese. Not sure what sausages they use but they had a great snap and flavor. The brisket was chopped and pretty tasty. The kolache bread was how I like it: a little toasty on the outside and soft inside. Hard for me to pick a favorite and good thing we got two of each. They're a pretty good size so we all shared them and even had one left over which we'll likely be throwing hands for. This place does not disappoint! We have had kolaches, both traditional and nontraditional here, homemade croissants, cinnamon rolls, and the gluten-free biscuits! Everything we have had has been very delicious and very fresh. It can be slightly confusing entering the actual space because they share it with the Meridian and the Zoi market. However, they have posted on the side doors is always helpful to know when they're open and when you can enter, they have different hours than the actual space they share with the Zoi Market. I'd been wanting some chocolate croissants for days and I knew this place had them so I was pretty excited to try theirs. I've passed by the location so many times but I never realized it was inside the Meridian shop. The bakery part is tucked in the back where they have pastries on display. I came for the chocolate croissants but the lady at the register convinced me to try the almond chocolate croissants. I took them to go and had it with my homemade coffee. I tried the almond chocolate one first and maybe it was the marzipan but it wasn't as flaky as I like. And I think both the almond and chocolate flavor together kind of made it feel heavier than I prefer. As for the chocolate one, unfortunately, I had to wait until the next day to try it and it wasn't fresh so I can't comment on it fully, but I will definitely make it a point to go and ensure I eat it right away so I can report on quality, freshness, and taste. read more

Best Cinnamon buns ever!! I'm a self proclaimed bakery foodie and by far these are softest with perfect amount of Cinnamon and icing! The croissant sandwich with bacon, egg, cheese and their own avocado salsa made the perfect balance of flavor. We met one of the owners and he was just as great as the foos food. Adorable little bakery in the back of the Meridian store. My husband's favorite breakfast item is cinnamon rolls and he gave them a 10/10. His description: ooey gooey breading on the inside but not mushy, you could taste the cinnamon, and the icing was thick delicious cream cheese flavor. We tried the jalapeño kolache and brisket kolache. The jalapeño sausage was awesome, good flavor and none of the ick you sometimes get eating sausage links. Breading wasn't just soft plain bread it had a nice crunch to the outside and then was soft on the inside. 10/10! Brisket was a little overcooked but overall very tasty!! I was so bummed to see their Slaughter truck close, since it was a quick & easy stop on my way into the office. I still make it over to the Congress location from time to time, but I am thrilled to have them here in Buda now! The cinnamon rolls are sooo good, but don't sleep on the croissants & kolaches either! Located at the back of Zoi, it's a lovely stop for a slow morning to grab a pastry and a coffee at Meridian then browse all that Zoi has to offer (including the relatively new florist!).
