Luckily for us, his recommendation was spot on as La Ola is a great little ice cream shop with a large variety of different cures to whatever your sweet tooth desires. Parking is pretty accessible as it's in a small strip of stores and restaurants and there's ample outdoor seating as well to take in a nice summer night. The interior of the store is also nice and clean, making you feel like you're in a well run place from the moment you step in. We ordered a banana pudding scoop in a cone and a scoop of the Cookie Monster in a cup. The line here moves pretty quickly which is good so we didn't have to wait long from the moment we entered to the moment we began eating outside. The ice cream was delicious. The banana pudding tastes just as advertised with chunks of Nilla wafer throughout the bites, incredibly spot on. The Cookie Monster also tasted great, essentially a cookies and cream scoop dyed blue, but why not have a bit of fun with it? The whole experience was great and if ice cream isn't your thing they have numerous other options like shakes and ice pops to get you by. The only ding we can think of is that the trash outside was overrunning and looked like it hadn't been changed in hours. Nevertheless, we're very glad we stopped by here to get a sweet treat and would highly recommend it to anyone in the far South Austin/Kyle area looking to cool off on a summer night.

This facility has above average speed to order and the employees are pretty nice. That said I'll be brief as if you've been to Sonic, outside of service, the food should be about the same. The Slushes are pretty good and tasty. I've enjoyed the cherry, blue raspberry and grape slush with all being refreshing, icy and having that nice artificial syrup rounding them out. The Cheesecake shake is really good as you can taste the sourness of the cheesecake with the ice-cream to keep it cool. This is my favorite Sonic beverage by far. The tots are typical in that there's nothing special from what you find in the freezer section but they're one of the few that sell them. The onion rings are subpar as the prebreaded ones just lack the flavor or some other chains. I did notice they don't carry the tots with cheese in them as I wish they did as they're pretty good. Overall, the fried foods are basic as to be expected. The regular Sonic burger I'd rank pretty low among their competitors as the quality and amount of ingredients leaves me expecting more. I will admit the All-American dog was pretty good and probably the best hotdog I've had from a fast-food joint. The dog is meaty and NOT overly salty and I like all the ingredients on it. I definitely would advise giving this a go. Overall, Sonic is a place where you already know what you're going to get before you get there. That's the brilliance and curse of chains. However, when comparing them to other local competing fast food joints I would say the hot dogs, all the drinks, and tots are only compelling reason for going.
