I don't think I've ever had a bad ice cream store experience, and this place is not a bad one either. I'm familiar with the ice cream flavors since it's Amy's Ice Cream that they're selling, but the inside is nice and has separate candies on the side wall you can get besides the ice cream. If you've never had Amy's Ice Cream then I'd suggest going, if you have then just go anyway because you know how epically tasty it already is.

After a delicious lunch and a nice walk around Wimberley, my friend and I popped into a hiking store which was attached to Monster Treats. I saw that they mentioned they sold candy so I made my way over to buy some. Much to my surprise... the candy wall was almost empty. I asked the woman behind the counter about and it she didn't seem to have any thoughts about it... a bit disappointing. My friend decided to order ice cream from here as it's Amy's Ice Cream (a staple from our time in Austin) that will never do you wrong. The woman working was very helpful with all of our questions on the different flavors and offered us samples of those we were most interested in. My friend ended up ordering two scoops with one being pumpkin and the other being a brown sugar vanilla. The pumpkin was classic and what you would expect but the brown sugar vanilla was the best ... yum yum yum. One thing to note on the ice cream is that it has a very thick and rich consistency. Definitely would've been easier to eat directly from a cone as the spoon seemed to just push it around in the cup. I want to give this place more stars, but with how out of stock they were with items and the very limited selection (along with a bit pricier of ice cream), I really couldn't justify it. Overall, a good place to visit if you love Amy's Ice Cream and want some while in Wimberley but there are plenty of ice cream places to visit.

Monster Treats is an splendid ice cream shop located Downtown Wimberly . Their store decor is a fun accent to downtown Wimberly. They have board games anyone may enjoy when sitting outside their shop. Monster Treats ice cream is made locally with natural ingredients. I tasted different flavors and they were all very tasty. Mexican Vanilla, Apple Spice, chocolate and Marshmallow, Sweet Potato, Strawberry and Mint Chip. If you are at downtown Wimberly visit this lovely ice cream shop.

We came here for an afternoon treat after checking out Jacob's Well and the cute shops in Wimberley. We both got two scoops, I got ice cream sandwich and Oreo in a cup and my husband got trick or treat (KitKat, Heath in chocolate) and monster (Oreo, Heath in vanilla) in a waffle cone. We didn't get any toppings. The ice cream was rich and creamy, we loved it! The service was great as well, the girl working was very helpful and friendly.

We came here for ice cream on a Wednesday afternoon. I had the mint chocolate chip and a flavor with a unique name (Jawas something?) that was delicious. I was very happy with mine. My brother said there was not enough cookie dough in his chocolate chip cookie dough, but otherwise we were all happy and concurred the ice cream was good and creamy. The girl who served us was also very friendly and accommodating.

Cute little dessert spot in downtown Wimberley! All of the ice cream flavors in here are unique and sound very yummy. The workers were very nice and they let you try any of the flavors. There is also a little candy bar in the store. I got strawberry pop tart and it was a very yummy! My boyfriend got a scoop of that and a scoop of aloha which was a coconut and pineapple sorbet and oh man that one was so refreshing and good! Definitely a good stop when exploring downtown- especially on a warm day

I checked the Google reviews to make sure that they have options for me before I arrived which they said that they did. Located off of a busy highway/street with plenty of parking on a white gravel path, I found Scoops and Roots. I wasn't immediately greeted upon entering which I thought was a red flag, but I continued to walk inside as I was craving vanilla ice cream. I searched the options high and low looking for anything that was marked, "dairy-free" or "vegan", everything sounded absolutely delicious with the unique flavors that they had to offer, however, I was deeply disappointed when I didn't find anything that caught my eye. I asked and the chick behind the counter suggested a chocolate ice cream that was the only vegan option outside of the non-creamed items. I was double disappointed because chocolate is my least favorite flavor. I wasn't expecting this restaurant to be all vegan, but at least some cream options. I ordered the chocolate. It was okay at best. I sat towards the back of the restaurant near the plants. There was a guy who kept walking around the vicinity that I was sitting which made me feel as if I was being studied. He spoke very loudly towards another person. I think he introduced himself as the owner. The plants were beautiful to look at, however, I thought that the pricing was outrageously expensive. I am a gardener and a former houseplant parent (before it was popular) and thought that the pricing of the plants was unreasonable. The owner sparked up a conversation with me and was telling me about how to care for plants. I had told him that I know how to care for plants to keep them alive as I used to work at a garden nursery and previously owned that said plant when I was in college. He continued to tell me about plant care. Even the gardening supplies were pretty pricey. It was a chill vibe, but I won't be back considering they don't have more dairy-free flavors outside of chocolate ice cream.

I ordered the Tuesday special: pancakes with two eggs cooked over easy, plus a side of sourdough toast. My wife went with the biscuits and gravy. When my plate arrived, one of the egg yolks was already broken--not ideal--but I wasn't about to let that ruin breakfast. After all, I was planning to break them anyway. The toast was clearly meant for yolk-dipping (something I've done since I was a kid), though it arrived unbuttered, which slowed things down a bit. And with pancakes this large, I had to unwrap several pats of butter to get them properly dressed. That said, the pancakes were the real winner--fluffy, delicious, and generously sized. Bonus points for serving them with warmed maple syrup, which always makes a difference. My wife wasn't as happy with her biscuits and gravy and wished she had chosen something with more protein. I'm not usually a biscuit person either, which is why I tend to avoid them--but I always give them a fair try. The biscuits weren't my thing, but the gravy was quite good, with a subtle hint of heat that added some personality. Service was a mixed bag. Our waitress wasn't particularly friendly. I understand it was early, but service does matter. I generally start at a 20% tip and adjust up or down depending on the experience. This landed somewhere between 15% and 20%, which felt fair. Overall, the cafe was nicely decorated for Christmas and had a warm, nostalgic diner vibe. If we find ourselves back in Wimberley with breakfast on the agenda, this is a place I'd gladly consider again.

Chocolate dipped cone? Please!…read more Love Dairy Queen! So many frozen treats to choose from but don't forget about the burgers. My mom and I always order a custom burger so it's made fresh. Ask for the fries to be cooked well done and they turn out crispy. The employees are the best, very accommodating and when you dine in the restaurant is clean and inviting. When driving down ranch road 12, stop and get a chocolate dipped cone and think of me. Ha!!

When will Yelp introduce the ability to rank a business with a negative number of stars? I feel…read morethat even one star is, in this instance, somewhat disingenuous. A perfect example of the downside of having a lack of competition amongst business. Not only does this location NOT have most of the specialty items that are available at other DQ locations, they don't have a fair portion of the menu items listed on the website for THIS SPECIFIC LOCATION! If they actually have the item you want, the wait at times can be long enough that you wish you had brought along a snack to enjoy, stranded and hungry, while sitting in line. Heaven forbid that you call and ask if an item is available before hopping in the car and heading for town. They seem to take your call for information regarding menu availability as some sort of cruel personal affront. The staff seems unabashedly annoyed that you would have the audacity to threaten the otherwise barren landscape of non-existent customer service that they stive so hard to maintain in their store. Save yourself the disappointment, and order your burger from the deli at Brookshire Brothers. A much better burger, on a bigger bun, with a mountain of excellent fries, and a drink, for about three bucks less. As an added bonus, Brookshire Brothers uses fresh ground chuck, as opposed to the 60/20/20 (60% meat, 20% fat, and 20% inedible gristle) always overcooked patty of sadness that they put out the door at the Dairy Queen. A unforgettably ghastly dining experience that will discourage you from eating out for weeks, perhaps months, after your visit.
