When will Yelp introduce the ability to rank a business with a negative number of stars? I feel that even one star is, in this instance, somewhat disingenuous. A perfect example of the downside of having a lack of competition amongst business. Not only does this location NOT have most of the specialty items that are available at other DQ locations, they don't have a fair portion of the menu items listed on the website for THIS SPECIFIC LOCATION! If they actually have the item you want, the wait at times can be long enough that you wish you had brought along a snack to enjoy, stranded and hungry, while sitting in line. Heaven forbid that you call and ask if an item is available before hopping in the car and heading for town. They seem to take your call for information regarding menu availability as some sort of cruel personal affront. The staff seems unabashedly annoyed that you would have the audacity to threaten the otherwise barren landscape of non-existent customer service that they stive so hard to maintain in their store. Save yourself the disappointment, and order your burger from the deli at Brookshire Brothers. A much better burger, on a bigger bun, with a mountain of excellent fries, and a drink, for about three bucks less. As an added bonus, Brookshire Brothers uses fresh ground chuck, as opposed to the 60/20/20 (60% meat, 20% fat, and 20% inedible gristle) always overcooked patty of sadness that they put out the door at the Dairy Queen. Not busy when I arrived at 11:30 am. Took my order immediately and I had a seat. The inside looks pretty nice, modern, and new. It was also pretty clean for a fast food place. They did try to deliver someone else's food to me. Kind of strange as there was only one other table with customers in the store. Hope my order is correct when it does come out. I ordered a triple buster with cheese and no bun. I don't know what brainiac made my order but the burger patties were placed in the container upside down so the cheese stuck to the container. Not too cool. My order also came out to my table packed up as if it were to go? Not a big deal to be but kind of a waste of plastic bags, paper bags, etc. for something that could just have been set at my table. Oh no! What could we improve???? Start by reading the F****** comments from your customers!!!! I regularly visit this location for a Blizzard. HOWEVER! After tonight, I more than likely will not be back there for some time, if ever again. Now this may seem like a trivial thing to some, but I believe in standards and I understand why standards exist. When someone orders a Blizzard, the person at the window is supposed to flip it upside down before handing it to the customer. This shows the customer that the product is so thick, that it will not come out of the cup, indicating the ice cream is still frozen and full of your favorite treat. The last few times I've been there, this step was not complete or even attempted. Honestly, it wasn't a big deal until tonight. Now here's the part that mattered the most to me and proves that I'm not being a Karen about this! When they handed the Blizzard over, it began to spill. It spilled so much that it splashed onto my uniform. At that point, I looked over at the Dairy Queen and he said, "Sorry about that!", and then close the window! Did not offer any napkins; kind of smirked and turned away when the window was closed. The blizzard was almost more than halfway melted! The other blizzard that was ordered, was aesthetically perfect! So either my blizzard was sabotaged to begin with, or it sat there long enough to turn back to liquid and not the ice cream treat I had hoped for? The sweet liquid milk made a huge mess and I have been pissed off about it ever since. Now I know that not one manager from the store or anyone from corporate Dairy Queen itself will read this yelp review. So really, I am just bitching into the vastness of Internet space. The only thing that can hear my cries are all the job resumes that have disappeared into this black hole of internet space. However, Dairy Queen, if you do end up reading any of this, this store is by far the worst Dairy Queen I have ever been in. It's never clean. No one is ever in a hurry to help you. I have more than once witnessed customers being ignored while employees play on their phones. Almost all of them move like freaking pond water. They give the same cold burger back with an extra burger patty, missing the condiments. DONT GO!! You do better getting food from the gas station next to it! CUSTOMER BEWARE!! Order board listed price is less than what you are charged at the register. Pointed out our order was $1.00 more than should be and were told that's what the register totaled and they couldn't do anything about it if the drive-thru board showed something else. This may not seem like a big deal but if this happened daily to 100 customers on a weekly basis they've cheated customers out of $500 - $700 dollars. read more

Tonight I was in the mood for a belt buster. I like DQ burgers because they use the red onion instead of white or yellow onions. Plus their burgers aren't greasy. So, the reason for the five stars tonight. I drove from Canyon Lake which takes me about 25 minutes each way. Tonight the line moved quicker than usual and I ate the burger in the parking lot because I don't want to eat it cold at home. I opened the wrapper and it looked like a burger out of a DQ commercial. No lie. I wish I had taken a picture of it. So well made that every bite had each of the components on the burger. It was delicious. I was so impressed I called the manager and took the DQ survey. Take pride in what you do no matter what it is, people will notice eventually. Even if it's putting together a hamburger because it might not seem important but guess who's making the 50 min round trip again in hopes of getting a burger like that again. I don't know how they manage to do it, but every time I eat here the burgers are mega dry. Like McDonalds would be a better choice if there was one in Wimberley. And no adult likes McDonald's. The sad thing about this place is it really doesn't have any competition, which allows it to give subpar food. I've been to other Dairy Queen's where the burgers are delicious. Here? The food was nice and fresh and warm when I received it, there were about three cars ahead of me and I did not feel like I waited an extensive amount. The person that handed me my order was clearly an individual with a speaking disability but was so kind and wanted to make sure that everything he did was great. You guys have to realize when you are going out to buy food that we are still living in a world that is suffering from the pandemic. The workforce has lost so many people, it is difficult to find employees anywhere. Please keep that in mind when you go to a fast food where you know that people are making bare minimum. read more

Worst burger ever! Wilted lettuce and dry. I wondered why they got it out to me in just seconds. Then where I sat I was able to observe the kitchen area. ALL patties are precooked sitting in a warmer. They make the entire burger putting lettuce and tomatoes on it and put it in the microwave. That's why the lettuce is wilted and burger dry. Microwaving the lettuce? Really? Some Dairy Queens are made to order, NOT the Wimberley Dairy Queen. All is prefab and then microwaved to reheat. Won't buy a burger here EVER again. read more

This has got to be the worst DQ service I have ever received. I tried ordering a steak finger basket and she yelled at us that there is no gravy. Fine. We picked something else, a blizzard, which they were also out of. When I mentioned they didn't say they were out the drive through lady screamed "yes I did." I have visited many DQs in my life. I can't say that their food is a gastrointestinal delight, but it is good enough if you compare it to McDonald's, Burger King or Wendy's. My main attraction to DQ would be the Blizzard ice cream treat. You know the one? So thick that when they serve it to you they turn it upside down. Which signified the quality of the product and the service. However, this DQ with offer you none of that. On the outside it looks like a new DQ which just opened. Even the inside was new and clean. The bathrooms were clean too, but that is the last good thing to mention. From there it all goes down hill. I am not sure where the failure takes place but they're was a definite problem with organization and efficiency. The people behind the counter and the cooks in the back were all confused and operating like multiple money wrenches had been tossed in to the gears. There was ten people standing around the front counter. A few were placing orders but it was a jumbled mess. When the employee behind the counter asked for the next person to serve I asked the guy next to be too go ahead because he wad there before me but he said that they had been waiting for their food. I stepped forward to order when that guy next to me hooked sarcastically that I needed to be prepared to wait. He said that the order they had placed fifteen minutes ago was a simple sundae and shake. I quipped back that it doesn't sound good for me and little did I know. Our order was simple two small Blizzards and one sundae. As we waited I watched the ineffective and inefficient employees scramble around like cockroaches after you turn on the light. The cooks in the back were lost. The people working the front (facepalm) were taking orders, fixing orders but then unable to find the people who had placed the orders. No kidding. Several times while waiting I watched an employee walk out trying to find the customer only to return with the food. It was chaotic. It was sad. These people need to be trained on how to be efficient. We waited. Waited. Waited. It was a broken record. When we walked in we thought the people up front where in line but as time passed and more people came in it became a convention of customers greeting each other asking them if they were in line or if they had ordered already. It was sort of funny to watch. Finally our food was served but like all the other Blizzards I saw pass before me, they weren't the Blizzards I remembered. No turning them upside down to show the quality of the product. Nope. If you were to turn these Blizzards upside down they would have just plopped on the floor like a regular milk shake. To make things worse they were short changing us. The level of the Blizzard compared to the edge of the lip was well below what I remembered. AND to add insult to injury the guy who had been waiting for his food well before I arrived still had not gotten his order. He was pretty ticked off My suggestion to the management is to stop people from milling around by the counter. Get their name, then tell them to be seated. In the back, the cooks need to think ahead of the game. If you are slammed and in the weeds, drop an extra load of fries and a few extra hamburgers. For the people working the ice cream treat section, try to time the treats with the hot food. Making a Blizzard doesn't take long. Overall this was a terrible experience but I believe isolated. It took over twenty minutes to get our ice cream. Totally unacceptable. The management and the other employees need retraining. read more

This is THE spot to get ice cream in Wimberley. I have been to a LOT of DQ's in my life. This is by and away the BEST one ever at making blizzards. Too many of them have gotten pathetic and barely mix the ingredients. I have NEVER had a problem with orders. I'm always supper impressed with the speed. I've had only good experiences at this location. My order has NEVER been wrong and the fries are always hot and salty. Yum! Sometimes the line is long and it takes awhile but if you see a long line then you just expect to wait. It's your choice. I'm happy they're in Wimberley! read more

I just wanted to leave a review saying that I just LOVE the ice cream cake lady at DQ! I called her and asked her if there was any way she could do my wedding cake. She was a bit shocked, but wanted to know what I was wanting. I asked her if there was any way she could stack the 8 and 10 inch rounds. She said she would come up with something. When my husband picked them up I was more than impressed! She did such a wonderful job on the cake!!! I almost didn't want to cut it because it was just so perfect, BUT it's my FAV cake in the world! Thank you so much for making my dream wedding cake! Not to mention the price for my wedding cake was like $30 instead of the $700 from a bakery! Ordered chocolate ice cream and they told me they don't carry chocolate ice anymore, I ordered a blizzard and they gave me chocolate ice cream. Stopped to get a medium strawberry sundae and a medium turtle blizzard at 2pm on Monday afternoon. Took 15 minutes to get medium sundae and 20 minutes to get blizzard that was wrong size and runny. No flipping blizzard here. Asked for refund and was refused and lady insisted on making another blizzard. Also employees were bickering and other customers were dissatisfied with service, waiting to long for food or not getting served at all.
