But the last company I called was Sterling Interstate, and wow--what a breath of fresh air. We had already dealt with a lot of stress while closing on our first home, and we just needed a reliable team to cross the finish line. The moving industry doesn't always have the best reputation, so I was praying they'd be good--and they turned out to be the absolute best. Not only is their hourly rate very fair for the quality of work, but they also don't hit you with random fees. My husband and I had our home 95% packed and stacked, leaving them to navigate moving everything down a flight of stairs and prepping/packing the larger furniture. Since this was our first time hiring movers, we were blown away: they wrapped and packed everything like it was going cross-country! Even knowing it was only a 15-minute drive, they took zero chances with damage, and everything arrived completely untouched. I am terrible with names, so I've already forgotten the exact crew who came out, but they were AMAZING. On a brutally hot and humid July day in Arizona, they hustled nonstop for 6.5 hours. They took necessary breaks, but they worked so hard, all while cracking jokes with us and keeping the mood light. By the time they left, it felt like saying goodbye to old friends. So I'll be the first to admit, I have some issues with keeping things organized. Let's just say I have some attention deficit issues that cause me to set things in various places without any rhyme or reason because I'm always looking ahead. This was exacerbated by two epic moves that required trucks loaded full of junk, some of which had to be stored in my office. Originally, that was supposed to be temporary, but with the pandemic, it became years of boxes gathering dust in forgotten corners. So with a great deal of contrition, I began searching for a professional organizer who could make sense of my chaotic work environment. Having worked previously with another organizer, I found that the ability to lift and move things was a skillset that not all organizers could handle on their own. They were able to organize without actually doing much of the actual organization due to a lack of physical strength. So with those needs in mind, I came across Bonnie aka the Organization Genie. Bonnie is like a bundle of firecrackers. She is very friendly and enthusiastic about organizing. At the beginning, we did a walk through of the office, set our objectives for each day, and then off she went. Every couple hours or so, I'd check in with her. What once felt like an unsolvable puzzle was miraculously untangled and sorted out. Bonnie's magic spread across the office and warehouse over the next few days. The amount of our commercial and demo products as well as random equipment in the warehouse required a bit more labor, so she brought in a helper that day. Bonnie requested that we purchase some shelves, which I went out and bought. They put the shelves to good use, taking a lot of things off the ground and utilizing the elevation of the warehouse. Bonnie made time for me on short notice, which I really appreciated. We had a lot of co-workers and management visiting from our overseas headquarters, so the timing of the organization was crucial to creating a favorable impression on them. With Bonnie's help, their visit to our office was a good overall experience for everyone involved. Since then, I've also hired Bonnie to help out with my parent's house, where she was equally helpful. If you are organizationally-challenged like me, Bonnie can probably save you too.

Jeff and his crew (Roy, Matthew & Aidan) came up with a solution for me that was very workable. They came out 2 days before the move and completely loaded up a U-Haul. They came back 2 days later with their truck and loaded up the balance of my property, moved both trucks to my new location and unloaded both. These guys worked like dogs, but very efficient and friendly dogs! They were extremely careful with my stuff, and the only thing that got broken was a piece that I transported myself. We moved from AZ to TX and upon our furniture being unloaded in TX we found that the center…read moresupports had been broken on our TV stand and our daughter's dresser. The movers in AZ had known this was broken because the leg for the dresser was wrapped in plastic and shoved under the tarp covering the dresser. We were never informed that it had been broken. We filed a claim, since this was a brand new dresser and it's unsafe to have in our baby's room. We were denied because we did not inform the movers it was broken before they left the premises in AZ, but to know it was broken we would have had to been able to inspect all the furniture in the truck which is impossible to do when it's loaded. Plus, if the movers knew they broke it, we should have been notified by them. Getting a response from our claim agent takes multiple follow ups, where they tell me the same information and do not answer any of my follow-up questions, despite telling me to reach back out if I have any questions. Moving is always a stressful time, and now we have the added stress of trying to receive some compensation so we can replace furniture that was knowingly broken.
