Worst dining experience I've ever had in Seattle. Drinks were forgotten, food was forgotten, when it finally came it was cold. Staff was completely clueless as to where food went. We were asked several times what we ordered and if food was ours that was not. Just a real sh*tshow. The "Chicken Strips" were merely chicken patties that were cut in half. Not great. Got pics. All the food was cold by the time we ate because we had to ask for utensils several times. Then they brought 2 utensils for a party of 5. There was garbage in the salt. Not rice, but hair and black crap. Got pics. The manager there could not have cared less. Empathetic and rude. Good for the games, if that is what I was there for. !! Awful. We ate first. Simple salad and a burger. It took half an hour to get the food and once it was dropped off no one ever checked back in. My tiny ketchup cup that was half filled lasted for 4 limp fries. Bacon was micro thin and burnt. Salad had a mystery dressing. We wanted to check out the games and on the way thru most of the empty tables had half filled food plates. The womens bathroom upstairs should have a waiver for you to sign before going in. Well, you're not going to Game Works for the food or drink, for the most part. Oddly, I'm still only leaving 3 stars; because, the games (mostly are sorry), the staff probably deal with too many families and kids, and really don't have much of an incentive to like where they are or what they do, and unfortunately - it shows. I think the Game Works experience could be lifted for customers, and maybe even get it to be a place where families loved bringing in their kids. Games are just overpriced for the experience and location. A lot of times, it's fun to hit pre/post movie going, and you don't feel quite as badly for spending a zillion dollars on a single outing. You expect to be gouged going to the movies; so, why not lump it in with hitting Game Works. It could be different, and Game Works could be the respite that people look for pre/post Movie Night Gouging. My 2 Cents read more

A lot has changed here since I was a kid but we took our little cousins here thinking it would be fun to play some games while they were in town. They have taken away a lot of the games they used to have so really there's not much to do. Downstairs is mostly all ticket games and upstairs is they have a few old school games like Pac-Man and pinball machines. Not worth the money in my opinion bc if you play the ticket games the prize amounts are ridiculous. read more

What a place to go for pure fun and to escape reality! There's even a section with older games for us folk who have been around awhile. I could swear I remember seeing a Pacman. :) There's something for everyone in this place. Only drawback, I believe, is you don't use cash but tokens. Still..I love this atmosphere and concept! I am a youth minister and took 22 parents, teens and young adults here after a service trip we did in Seattle. I couldn't make any reservations over the phone for some reason, but Sean (you're awesome!) had us seated and accommodated in no time. We showed a little after 4:00 in the afternoon. Even though he had a surprise party of 23 - and it was his second day on the job! - Sean did a fantastic job serving our group, even giving us free sodas! We did the $15.99 "Dine 'n Play" deal, which got us an entree and an hour of game time. Food was tasty and everyone enjoyed their meal. It took about two hours total for us to order and eat, which was a little long, maybe, but to be expected for that many people. I know this place has gotten some poor reviews for games being out of service, but when we were gaming, from 6:00-7:00 on a Monday night, we had no issues with either lines for games or games being out of service. The teens had a blast, especially with the large number of co-op games available. If I had a critique, the location is *very* loud and can get warm, but I think that just comes with the territory. I worked as a IT tech for a number of years, and our server room would consistently get toasty - there's only so much air conditioning you can provide with that number of arcades. I was surprised to see a significant number of business people visit the bar for drinks/food as well. If you do go here, make sure you sign up for the "Thanx" app. It gets you a free ten-dollar game play right off the bat, and, after paying for the group, I received an additional forty dollars in discounts too. Gameworks. They have games, booze, and snacks. Fun for a good time with a group of friends. Service is ok usually, though at times slow and scattered. Staff is usually decently friendly, but judging from some of the interactions with patrons I've seen I wouldn't blame them for being a little fried. Great place! The kids went and played with unlimited game cards and mom and dad got great service at the bar. We ordered pulled pork sliders and Mac & cheese. We told the bar tender we like spicy food and it became a mission with the kitchen staff. The food came out spicy as requested and delicious. The manager asked us how our "extra" spicy food was. Today our rag tag group of kids came to Seattle and specifically GameWorks for their 8th grade trip. Now we came in as a party and the cashier mistakenly charged all our students for the individual rate and as they're only in 8th grade they spent their entire allowance on tickets. Don't ever Ever EVER eat here! This place is disgusting! Paid $18 for a sampler that came with stale chips, chicken tenders that tasted like the oil they cooked them in was old. The cheese with the pretzel looked like it was sitting there overnight. When it came out it had a dried skin covering it and we hadn't even taken a bite. Came here with three kids and spent $50 in about twenty minutes; game cards are equivalent to twenty-five cents per credit and games are 4-12 credits each. So, meh. Find somewhe Update in response to Beth: you did a great job in your response promoting your pricing options, but no mention of the employees wearing ear buds, ignoring the customers who are paying all the money. I had to ask one guy twice for assistance as he stood there staring at me. He was attaching lanyards to game cards or some such. He threw down what he was holding and angrily helped us. Just very rude. The other two girls working the counter looked bored and also not interested in helping us. For as much money as you charge, you would think the customer service would be better. Came here only for purchasing a Groupon and it was worth it. This place smelt stinky. Ticketed games were very limited but the other games that were unlimited were mostly shooting or fighting games. Some of the games weren't working and the games with 2 player only could play 1 player. Not recommended for young kids since the games were limited. Would only come with Groupon and you need to be a teenager to enjoy some of the repetitive games. This place is basically - one and done. read more

Brought kids in to run wild ..lots of games just needs more up to date arcades for older kids

We settled on Gameworks after hearing the Cheesecake Factory had a 2.5 to 3 hour wait. We had kids that were excited to be able to play video games and eat dinner at the same time so they were excited. We were seated within 10 minutes of arriving but everything went downhill from there. We ordered very simple dishes (two salads, two kids chicken strip meals and a quesadilla). Food started arriving nearly 30 minutes after ordering (salad was missing dressing and avocados - which was standard on the Cobb salad and we asked for repeatedly after getting the salad. The waitress kept saying it would be coming from the kitchen upstairs. We never ended up getting them). The kids chicken strips were actually pretty tasty though the fries were just barely room temperature. The waitress was just as ticked as we were with all of this. She kept saying the quesadilla would be coming, it ended up arriving 30 minutes later. When it was delivered everyone else had finished their food at least 15 minutes prior. The waitress brought the quesadilla out with a to go box as she was aware how long it had been. We were very polite and respectful to the waitress as we could tell she was frustrated. We ended up being at the restaurant for 90 minutes! I think our biggest frustration was there was not a manager in sight nor did a manager come over to apologize or ask for feedback. Our bill was drastically reduced but the experience was horrible and extremely frustrating. Would not want anyone else to have the experience we had. read more

Been here a few times over the years, and every time it seems to be getting worse... You cannot have drinks when playing the games anymore, I'm sure enough poorly behaved customers ruined it for everyone, so now they have to have a blanket rule. Also, we used a groupon here and the employee we spoke with seemed to have a different understanding of the voucher than we had. Had a snack in the bar area and somehow ended up with BBQ sauce being spilled all over my boyfriend's jacket without an apology or explanation...I'm not sure if the business is going more for a family vibe here or not, however there are better places to drink and play games in Seattle if you are over 21. read more

I like the event deal where you can play unlimited arcade games. However, a lot of the rhythm games I am into were broken/error coding and super out of date. The fact that a lot of the games were only 2 player made me feel left out when my two other friends played. Round One keeps up with their games better, have at least 2 games you can play with up to 4 people, and keeps their games running. The prize room is stocked with cooler items as well at Round One. The only real saving grace at Game works was the Lan room which allows people without consoles or computers to play the newest games or demo them before dropping the money. read more

We went in just for a fun night. Literally googled arcades and this was the one that came up. Out of the five people that were working one of them seemed interested in their job and that was the mechanic that was working on all of the games. The rest of them were rude. It's a little overpriced for the games that they offer. Half of the games don't even work or the screens are so hard to see their scratchy and messed up. And also definitely not a place I would let my two-year-old run off by themselves even my 10-year-old run off by them self. The restrooms are nasty the tables have gunk all over them. Don't bother with the food. I thought that Buffalo Wild Wings downtown had the slowest service, but the time I spent at GameWorks on 3/25/2017 was an all-time record. My son and I visited and we were going to grab food then play. The bar area was half-full and the hostess said the wait (for a 2-person party!) was going to be 40 minutes. I was shocked, but we played and came back 40 minutes later and we were seated in a few minutes. No one brought a menu for about 10 minutes, so we ordered quickly, then the waiting began. Long story short, we ordered grilled cheese, fries, and salmon and we ended up in the restaurant about 2 hours. We never did receive the dessert we ordered and I had to leave my seat to get silverware, a drink refill, and the check. I'm fairly confident if they ran an efficient operation, they could serve 4 times the amount of customers, who would be twice as happy, even if they didn't improve the mediocre food. Summary - Go to GameWorks to play games. Go anywhere but there to eat. read more

i'm what you call a gaming freak. i don't mind the name, but don't make fun of me when i'm in Gameworks. i'll kick you in the shin if you break my concentration in Street Fighter vs Capcom or Tekken 3. this place was a dream come true to me when it first opened up. so many memories in this place. however, after highschool- the hype died down and the place lost it's sparkle. then they tried to turn it into a night club on the weekends. not that great of an idea. who wants to dance, drink, and watch their boyfriends or potential bf's pounding away at arcades? getting all flustered and irritated because they lost to some schmuck or they're out of quarters? not so fun, is it? lol. the food is pretty good. haven't tried the pizza. i know, i'm nuts. read more

Came here for the wings and pinball. The wings pass the pinball not so much. They only had one new pinball which was "the walking dead" The wings were yummy in buffalo style. If I could give us 0 stars, I would! ***BEWARE*** pay with cash if you are going to go here! I went 3 weeks ago and had lunch at their restaurant and then purchased a card for my son to play games. I was charged another $30 three weeks later when I was out of the state. If I had been not watching my bank account, they could have gotten away with it. I have initiated an investigation through my bank. There are scammers working here! I will never come back. I hope whoever did that gets fired. The days of the arcade are becoming archaic (hahaha see what i did there???) IBack in the day - it was exciting to save up as many quarters as you can and go to an arcade to play games. Shooting games, racing games, fighting games... it was an accomplishment to defeat a game using minimal quarters. Then came these super arcades, mega two story complex that killed the local arcades. It was amazing. It was exciting. It was new! Unfortunately that was well over 10 years ago. Now the personal gaming consoles are taking down these giants. Gameworks (and Dave & Busters) are not excluded. Its no longer a quarter to play a game now. Now its buying a play card for $2 and loading it up with money and let me tell you first hand that a $20 game card doesn't last very long as many games can cost $2 - 3! Many of the interactive games have been taken away. Mainly a plethora of japanese racing games and 6 different versions of Dance Dance Revolution occupy the bottom floor. The top floor has your shooter games and fighting games. 20% of which are so poorly maintained the guns dont shoot straight or the game hasn't been played in so long that images are burnt into the screen. another 20% are "being serviced" so you can't play them anyways. The rest of which just aren't fun or exciting anymore. The only saving grace of this place from no stars is that 1 is the lowest possible. the only reason it gets two stars is every once in a blue moon when you can't decided where else to go and Gameworks has a $10 unlimited game night - then its the perfect place to kill so time and enjoy a quick bite to eat and some alcohol to drink while downtown. read more

Took my family there around Christmas time and most likely won't go back. A lot of the games were very old, not working and dirty. I know that there are a lot of kids there but someone should take a little time to make sure areas are somewhat cleaner. Also we had to wait forever for food. Only one server working and all tables were still dirty and no people there. My experience could have been better. read more
