The company and employees are incompetent. No wonder they are closing stores and losing money. I ordered a used copy of Madden 25. I had my sister go to pick it up, but they refused to give her the order. She had the order number, the order email, and I was on the phone with her too while at the store and they still refused They kept saying I should have added her on the order but there is no place to do that when ordering I know it's only a ten dollar order and they are not losing much, but I will make sure to tell everyone I know to stop doing business with this company. Which in the end GameStop doesn't even care about. I was a very long time customer, but I will never do business with GameStop ever again. My frustration with this one is its popularity. Every time "looking for the hot game release," this one is out. Quieter foot traffic ones might have it. Other than that I do like the employees here. They have really nice folks who have experience. This helps when dealing with multiple platforms and genres. All of their stores are selling non gaming things. I'm not a fan but to each their own. Getting in and out of here is relatively easy. There is plenty of parking. On weekends that might not be the case. This is a good value. Often they sell new or used games for less. I like that and also they are reputable. Each system or game has worked as advertised. If you're in the area stop in. read more

My dad went to return controllers we bought few days ago but the front desk workers made joke out of him and acted extremely rude. The return date said before Jan 13th but apparently they won't accept it bcuz it's opened. They offered him a $60 gift card in return (mind u the total cost of the controllers we bought was $100) and apparently we have to pay extra $20 to use the gift card as well. So my dad decided to keep the controller but the employees told him "THEN PURCHASE IT AGAIN". What kind of joke is this??? He went today and I was about to go back for more clarification on this ridiculousness but it'll be just waste of my time. The employees probably thought they could get some money out of my dad bcuz he's an elderly asian man. This place is just awful and would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Came in today because I was having problems with my Xbox One, Justin was extremely helpful. I came in expecting to just trade it in for another Xbox One but he was able to do me one better and get me an Xbox One S instead for way cheaper than I expected. Definitely a great deal and a great place to stop by for any console and gaming needs you may have. Yesterday a friend of mine and I walked in browsing and looking to see what games were on sale. It was your usual GameStop experience, but what stood out to me was what I witnessed at the register. There was a difficult situation involving a previous customer's online order that took a little while to solve. I believe the acting manger was named Sam. He and his staff handled it so gracefully and kindly. While a line did start, they were all so kind and willing to make things right for everyone. I only wish I had gotten the other staff member's names, because they all deserve to be recognized for taking a stressful situation, and handling it like champs. I've visited this Gamestop several times because it is close to my work, so it is the best location for me to place preorders and pickup new releases. The store is located in an easy to access shopping center that usually has plenty of parking. Whenever I enter I am always greeted with a nice welcome. The store is clean, well organized and even when I have trouble digging for a particular title, the staff are quick to help. So far every staff member that I have encountered has been pleasant and they strive to make sure I'm getting the best deal on used games or trade ins. I'm a member of the rewards program which I find to be a good deal. If you're a regular gamer and you shop here, it will easily pay for itself when you make trades or buy used games. Plus it comes with a subscription to Game Informer magazine which keeps you up to date on the video game world. I've never had a bad experiences here so this is an easy 5 stars for me. *This business is gun carry friendly. read more

This location was a complete cesspool for a long time, but recently that has turned around. They hired a couple of new guys and the place has become fantastic. I don't know the name of the gentleman in the glasses that has helped me, but he is legit a great sales person. If he isn't the manager of the location, he should be. I live right around the corner from the main street location in Fairfax and I go out of my way to make sure to go to this location -- the Fairfax location is terrible. read more

Horrible Experience. Staff is extremely rude and they do not even act like they want to sell you video games. My experience was with Christopher. He is nothing but a sales clerk but for some reason thinks he is manager, or at least acted like one. I asked to pre-order a game from a young lady and after my transaction was completed, the store clerk Christopher (we can call him the smart-ass) tries to debate me on whether I am pre-ordering or "pre-purchasing" Regardless, I didn't care of the correct terminology and I only found his tone to be arrogant and extremely rude. I was a paying customer who had just spent $65 on a video game and this is how I am going to be treated? Completely unacceptable, I have already filed a complaint with Gamestop Corporate, the District Manager, and will never be returning to another GameStop store for as long as I live. Stopped by today to pick up a gift for my wife that I had reserved online--my local GameStop didn't have it, but this one showed availability online. Apparently the staff there hadn't gotten the note to put it on reserve, so when I got there, I went to the shelf and snagged the item. Unfortunately, an elderly lady was being helped by one of the staff to find the same item, and I had the last one in my hands. It's the Christmas season so I gave up the thing to the woman, and (here comes the 2star) asked if they could ship the same thing to my house for free, or to my local GameStop, and was told they'd only do that if I joined their LevelUp program (at a cost). It's not the staff's fault that their inventory hit zero, but I do think it's pretty weak that they can't just ship to another one of their stores when incidents like these arise. read more

I travel 200 days out of the year so preordering a game in advance doesn't work since I never know where I'll be. I always preorder the Monday before release in an area I'm staying. This is the first game stop that says I can't preorder because they already rung out a customer. I called another Gamestop in fairfax about 8 miles away and they said no problem. I have until 9pm to preorder as with every other gamestop in the country has done. Maybe some employee education. Will not return to this store. read more

I don't know how the other reviews are so great, but I had an awful experience here. I called in first and the employee had no knowledge of the question I was asking (whether something was sold or not), and said the manager is the only one who knows and he won't be back until later this afternoon. I went to the store later that day and got treated so disrespectfully by the manager, who seemed way too full of himself or acting too busy to help me with anything. When he started helping me activate something, he got an attitude with me several times to the point where I just wanted to say FORGET IT, and walk out. I picked up a new console this past Black Friday and bought a handful of preowned games as part of a promotion at a Gamestop down in Florida. After a few days of playing them, I realized a couple weren't as good as I expected, and was looking to exchange or return them. All stores have a return policy of 7 days (preowned), but I was worried that if I brought it to a different store, it would be a hassle to return them, especially since the original store forgot to give me one of the games' boxes. Meredith at the Fair Lakes location however, made it completely painless. She listened attentively to my situation, took a look at my receipt, and not only found the games I wanted to exchange them for, but also found the best option to process the exchange so I wouldn't be spending another $30 for a game, and I walked out a happy customer. Working retail as the holiday seasons starts is never easy, so it meant even more to have a great customer experience at this store. read more
